Chapter 1
Shinachiku was happy that his mission was able to be completed in time for him to get back home for his little sister's graduation from the academy. He just needed to give his mission report back to his dad at the Hokage's Office. For his first mission as a Jounin squad leader, he couldn't complain about how it went. There were no major injuries and the Daimyo's daughter was successfully saved from her kidnappers. He looked back as his team, Akira Inzuka and his ninken Daiki, Metal Lee, and Atsushi Abe. Metal and Akira were complaining about how easy the mission was, the kidnappers weren't even ninja just opportunistic criminals who caught her as she was returning from a trip to the Land of the Crescent Moon. While Shinachiku wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth, he had to admit that he was at least hoping to test Sage Mode in live combat, so far he only tested it against Lord Fukasaku when training with him. Shinachiku was broken out of his musing by hearing a familiar loud voice getting closer.
Shinachiku spotted his old friend Ryu Uchia turning the corner down the street alongside the new Team Neji formed for a several month long patrol along Eastern border.
"Ryu, Neji sensei, long time no see, you know?", shouted Shinachiku.
Ryu and Neji sensei turned to see where the voice originated, a smile broke out on Ryu's face. "Yeah, it's been a while Shina" greeted Ryu.
Neji Sensei greeted Shinachiku," Hello Shinachiku, it has been a while." Neji turned to Ryu and said, "I'll let you catch up with Shinchiku, Ryu. Just Remember not to take too long, we need to give our report to Naruto".
Ryu said, "Alright Neji sensei, and thank you".
"Looks like you were able to make it back in time for the academy graduation ceremony. I know Sarada was hoping that her big brother would make it back for her graduation ceremony" said Shinachiku.
"Yeah, I was hoping to finish my mission before the graduation ceremony. I still can't believe our sisters are going to graduate from the academy and become genin. It seems like only yesterday they were starting the do you think will be their Sensei, Shina?" said Ryu.
"Knowing my dad, it will probably be Konhamaru Sensei. Which means their first test will be the bell test" said Shinachiku.
Ryu's expression soured as he remembered how he ended up tied to the post, "Oh no, not the bell test" said Ryu.
"Don't worry, about Sarada. She is cool under pressure, though Hanami on the other hand will probably end up tied to the post" said Shinachiku. "Though if you hear my dad tell it, he will say that the strongest ninja always ends up tied to the post, with him pointing to himself and Lord Jirya. Though I doubt grandfather Minato was tied to a stump" said Shinachiku, shrugging.
Ryu said, "You're probably right, now let's get our reports to your dad's office".
They disappeared in a blur as they hurried to the Hokage's office.
When they got there Neji sensei had finished delivering his report to Naruto. Neji sensei turned to Ryu and said, "You're a tad late, but I'll let it slide this time since our mission was uneventful".
Ryu said, "Thank you Neji sensei".
Naruto said, "It doesn't matter, I'm just happy that you guys made it back safe, you know? Shina, good job rescuing the Daimyo's daughter from the kidnappers".
Shina responded with, "Thanks dad, here is my written report", and handed him the scroll with the written report. Shina continued, " No major injuries to my team or the Daimyo's daughter, Atsushi gave her a clean bill of health after checking to see if she was injured or not. Metal, Akira, and Daiki engaged the kidnappers with close combat after breaching their base. While Atsushi and I teleported to her location after throwing one of my Kunai marked with the Flying Raijin jutsu formula. I dispatched the guards they placed around her while Atsushi made certain she was okay and able to be moved. I ordered Atsushi to stay with her as aided Metal and Akira in dispatching the last of the kidnappers". Shin paused and then continued, "Honestly it wasn't worth the A-rank rating in terms of difficulty, but I understand why the Daimyo wanted such a ranking considering it was his daughter".
Naruto responded, " Excellent Shina, I knew I made the right decision in assigning you this mission, and you got it done in time for Hanami's graduation as well. Team Shinachiku is dismissed, though you are all invited to Hanami's graduation party tomorrow evening at Ichiraku Ramen, you know".
