"Does this spark joy?" Danny asked Kara as he held up one of Frankie's old onesies.
They had been cleaning out the garage for the past two hours. Thankfully they managed to get through a lot of it last night. But there were just the final boxes that were causing the most angst. Only because Kara was a stickler for keeping their tax records, they had to keep their holiday decorations because the HOA mandated the street had to decorate their houses.
Then there were Frankie's baby toys and clothing. Danny managed to get Kara to let go of the toys but the clothing proved to be a challenge. He never imagined Kara would be such a hoarder until they couldn't get into their garage one day.
"Yes." Kara said, she took the onesie from him. He watched as she held it in her hands and smiled softly.
"Kara, you promised me we would throw away at least 75% of what's in here." Danny reminded her. They were so close to that magic percentage.
"I know." Kara said softly.
"This does not fit Frankie anymore." Danny told her, their 3 year old was way too big for his 00 sized onesie.
"I know, but I just remember when he could and it makes me smile." Kara said, she neatly folded up the onesie. Danny smiled as he completely understood but they needed the space.
"But it's a whole box of baby clothes that will never be used. We should donate them." Danny said.
"But we're going to need it for the next baby." Kara told him.
"Next baby?" Danny asked, they had talked about giving Frankie a sibling every now and then but no real planning had gone into effect.
"Yeah, I think it might be time to start trying." Kara said with a sly smile.
"Are you saying this to get out of donating the clothes?" Danny asked, as he had to make sure she wasn't trying to finagle him into agreeing to keep the clothing for something that might not happen.
"No, I really think we should have another sibling. We're both in a good place, the world doesn't need saving. Life is returning to normal, I'd like to have the kids to be close in age. What do you think?" Kara asked.
"I think I'm on board with it." Danny replied with a smile. "But we can always buy the baby new clothes." he added.
"Or we can save money by reusing Frankie's baby clothes." Kara argued.
"Ok, we'll keep the box." Danny caved.
"Thank you." Kara said, she kissed him on the cheek and beamed as she packed the onesie back into the box for safekeeping.
