I do not own Doctor Who, just Aderyn. I apologise for the delay but it's been a time recently.

"Come on, Addy, just you and me." The Doctor said as he followed Aderyn around the room.

"I've got stuff to do. In case you haven't noticed, I'm rearranging the library." Aderyn asked. She collected some books from a chair and shoved them into the Doctor's hands before picking up the ones that were left. The Doctor followed her over to a bookcase and stood patiently as she began to out the books away.

"Come on." He repeated.

"What's the catch?" she asked.

"No catch," he said hopefully. "All of time and space, and it's up to you where we go."

Aderyn surveyed the Doctor carefully "You're being weird." She said.

"No I'm not." he protested.

"Yes, you are. You really are. When was the last time you actively sought out my company. And I mean, just my company, not as an extra."

"The Delirium Archives." The Doctor said confidently.

Aderyn sighed and went back to sorting out the books "You had Amy with you."

"Planet One!"

"Amy again."

"What about when I woke you up to go to Hedgewick's."

Aderyn sighed "You had Clara and the kids with you. In fact, you picked them up before me, so that doesn't even come close to counting."

"Ok, so maybe it isn't something I've done before. But I should start doing stuff like that. And there's no time like the present."

Aderyn looked round at him again "Just you and me?"

"Just you and me." he said.

"How long will it be until Clara gets there?"

The Doctor shook his head "She won't.

"Ok then, but where are we going?"

He opened the library door, showing her the TARDIS parked neatly in the hall of Paternoster Road "Nest stop, everywhere."

Aderyn couldn't hide her excitement about being in the TARDIS again. The smell of wood and metal, the hum of the machinery, everything that made her feel safe and at home. She couldn't stop herself smiling as the Doctor spoke about where they could go. Though she was only partly paying attention. The Doctor listed several places she had already been and a few that did sound interesting. But she knew the routine and knew that he would end up taking her somewhere completely different. She glanced down at her phone and was suddenly aware that the Doctor had changed what he was saying mid sentence.

"There's a planet covered in a forest. The entire planet. No buildings just trees. And the sunsets are spectacular. Three suns and...Look at you. All of time and space to choose from and you're more interested in your phone. What is so interesting about your phone?" He rambled.

"You may have only been away a few days for you but for me it's been weeks. I'm catching up on any news I've missed." She said cheerfully.

"Like what?"

Aderyn stopped scrolling through the news website as a particular headline caught her attention. Local teacher killed in crash. "Like the death of Danny Pink." She said "Coal Hill maths teacher, Daniel Pink, was killed yesterday in a car accident. Witnesses say Mr Pink was distracted while crossing a road and stepped in front of a moving vehicle. He died shortly after being admitted to hospital." she read. The sudden silence between them was broken by the piercing ringing of the console phone. Aderyn sighed, stuffing her phone into her pocket "That'll be Clara. You'd better answer." she retreated to the gallery, sitting in the chair. The Doctor ignored the phone. He looked up at her.

"I said it would be just us two, so it will be just us two." he said.

Aderyn walked back down to the console "Her boyfriend has just died." she picked up the phone and answered with false cheer "Hello? Clara, so nice to hear from you...of course, give me one second." she moved the phone from her ear and clamped her hand over the receiver. She held the phone out to the Doctor "Don't let her know that we know about Danny. If she wants you to know then she'll mention it." she handed the phone to the Doctor and went back to her seat in the gallery. She couldn't blame Clara for wanting to contact the Doctor after such a loss. She had run into the TARDIS and shut herself away when River had gone to the library. But she was disappointed, she had been excited about having her own adventure with the Doctor. It had been such a long time since they had last taken on time and space entirely by themselves, without it being just her hanging around after the Doctor had taken Clara home. She saw the Doctor put the phone back on the console and turned her attention to the bookcase next to her. There was a shelf that was filled with only her books. The Doctor had every book from the first, Rose, to the most recent, The Runaway Bride. She wondered whether he had actually read them. She was too curious about this to realise the Doctor had approached her. He cleared his throat. But before he could say anything, Aderyn held up her hand to shush him.

"Just go, Doctor. She's just lost her boyfriend. She'd going to need a friend. Did she mention it?"

"No, she said she was bored. I said I'd speak to you first."

Aderyn raised an eyebrow at him "Will you be able to live with yourself if you didn't?" The Doctor shrugged. She stood and went back to the console. "I know what you're like, Doctor." she set the TARDIS in motion. "You regret things."

"Are you sure?" he asked.

"No, but she's going to need someone."

Before the Doctor could say anything, the TARDIS door opened and Clara walked in.

"Start her up." She said happily.

"Where are we going?" The Doctor asked. Aderyn abandoned the console and returned to the chair. She watched sceptically as Clara walked around the console room, disappearing from Aderyn's eye line at certain points.

"Away." Clara called out.

"From?" The Doctor was clearly poking for information, but Clara wasn't giving in.

"Just away. I want to see a volcano. I've never seen an active one." As Clara reappeared, Aderyn caught a glimpse of a key being slipped into her pocket. Clara walked around the console and under the gallery, stopping at the old fashioned writing desk the Doctor had insisted on having for some reason. She seemed blissfully unaware that Aderyn could see her. Aderyn watched with growing curiosity as she began to open the small drawers and peer into each of them.

"Do you still have those sleep patch things?" Ah, so that was what she was after. Clara ignored the Doctor's commands that she couldn't have one and, finding the box, took a few out. Aderyn looked over at the Doctor, waiting for a moment when he turned so she could catch his eye and somehow alert him to something being wrong. But he didn't turn. She felt a slight breeze as though someone had just walked passed her. When she looked round Clara was descending the stairs from the gallery and back to the console. She watched through cloudy vision as Clara raised her hand to put something on the Doctor's neck.
