Chapter 1 The Great Last War

He opens his eyes and it's black.

No, it's not that, wherever he is there is no light.

As he looks down on himself, there is no ground, either so he is floating, he is enveloped by a thin white aura. He's still wearing his shihakusho and his sleeveless haori with the inside as red, a Captain Commander haori to be precise, there is something on his face, it's red. Blood. He's wounded. He looks to the right, he looks to the left, nothing. His thoughts are all fuzzy but he can still conclude something out of his observation.

There is no light because it doesn't exist, how come there is a light when you are in a void, a world with nothing but emptiness.

As his thought becomes clear he remembers how he arrived here in the beginning.

Flashback story

His name is Ichigo Kurosaki Shiba, a human born with Shinigami, Hollow, Quincy power. When he regained his power after the Fullbring incident, Quincys invaded the Gotei 13, led by the Quincy King himself, Yhawch, who set free Aizen from the Muken despite refusing his offer to join. Ichigo was sent to the Royal Palace where he discovered the truth about his heritage and was given two Zanpakuto.

And then the nightmare began.

1000 years.

That's the time it was for the Quincy to become stronger after their almost-extermination at the hands of Yamamoto, the first Captain Commander.

And it was the same time it took to end this nightmare.

In the beginning, the Arrancars that survived the Winter War came to Soul Society, saying that Aizen retook his place on the throne, trying to kill the traitorous Arrancars that were ready to ally themselves with the shinigami to defend against the Quincys. Tia Halibel and her fracciones, Grimmjow Jaggerjack and Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck with her brothers. The Substitute Shinigami and the rest helped them and in return, they took part in the war siding with the Gotei 13.

In the first battle they were able to stop Yhawch from devouring the Soul King, but still the bastard toke a bit from the God, he got man eyes on him.

With the help of the second Captain Commander, Kyoraku, Ichigo took his place as a captain but all the previous squad members were transferred so that the rest of the Vizard, everyone in the Urahara Shoten, the Arrancars and his humanfriends could be by his side, following his lead.

Just the first five years were cruel, his first mission went wrong, his first time losing a comrade, his first time feeling true hatred for an enemy, his first time shedding tears since the lose of his mother and his powers.

As the years go by, the nightmare goes on, getting worse each passing day.

Already 50 years since the war started, Kyoraku died, with Ukitake by his side, it had happened literally in the middle of the battlefield, Aizen had the brilliant idea to talk to Yhwach while the Quincy and hollow troops were killing each other, those two didn't give a damn about their own subordinate

They worked together against the Gotei 13, as both were in dire need of a miracle because of Ichigo's deeds against their army. Because he was the most powerful of the Shinigami, because everyone viewed him as a born leader and because they discovered that he was immune to both Kyoka Suigetsu and the Almighty, he was chosen for the position of Captain Commander. His flaws were shown for a while but he began to become more experienced and wiser, they finally had an advantage, he pulled a plan that both sides weren't expecting at all, the results brought back hope for the Shinigami as the casualties for Hollow and Quincy were astronomical. But it wasn't enough.

As Aizen was losing, the mad man had an idea.

In the Winter War they thought they knew him, at least enough to understand that he had a god complex, they were wrong, at the time he was showing mercy. His true nature was shown when he captured the students of Karakura Highschool, a video was sent with blood on it.

The girls were rape in all painful ways possible and the boys were tortured mentally and physically, the video ended with a photo of Aizen sitting on his throne, Keigo, Mizuno, Chizuru, and Tatsuki's heads on a spike. The worst was that it was in the living world when they died their souls automatically became Hollows, and Aizen was waiting for this and using them for his army, in a battle to distract Ichigo as Aizen knocked him out and took him.

He was imprisoned for 6 months, tortured physically from a whip and cuts to insects from the inside and experimentation with his regeneration, and mentally as Aizen also kidnapped Renji, Lisa, Rose, and Love, forcing him to see their face twisted in pure agony, to hear their bloody screams begging to stop this, begging to end their life.

When Ichigo was rescued he became an empty doll, eyes holding only despair, sadness, and pain, becoming limb as he didn't move, sleep or even blink, it took a year for him to show a sign of life.

But Aizen wasn't the only one showing his true color, Yhawch only followed right after Ichigo showed his face on the battlefield.

It was Karin and Yuzu.

The Urahara Shoten was reduced to ash, black, and burnt wood, with the white reishi as fire, bodies of Ururu and Jinta proved that there wasn't any mercy from the Quincy King. The twin sisters weren't hurt at all, but that wasn't what made Ichigo and his father mad at the cruel universe against such innocent girls.

After 9 months of search for them, they found them but not in the state they expected them to be, Yhawch brainwashed them, Karin and Yuzu were wearing the Quincy uniform, with the eyes of an assassin ready to kill anyone in their path, they had become killing machines, Ichigo didn't even try to defend himself against them, how could he, they were his little sisters, the world once more changed Ichigo into something he would never be proud of, with his own sisters as the cause.

Aizen and Yhawch continued their twisted ways again and again, for 150 years. And then they really started to work together, at this point the Royal Guard were sent by the Soul King to help as much as possible, with them the Gotei 13 was able to survive, but the atrocities continued always, and always, becoming worse each and every second.

How they find new ways to make this living Hell worse than the last time was beyond their understanding.

Ichigo wasn't the only one to change, even Aizen and Yhawch became like him.

Finally 800 years later, the last battle destroyed a dimension, it wasn't in Hueco Mundo nor was it in Soul Society, but Hell. Aizen, Yhawch, and Ichigo battled against each other for the last time, releasing the power of a Bankai modified by a purple marble, the power to change destiny with the power of all the Quincys alive, and a human-Shinigami-Hollow-Quincy hybrid who has beaten all odds too many times to count. All three hold incredible power, all three can stand at the top, this was a fight that was meant to be. As the result, Hell was destroyed, it started with the landscape and ended with the sky looking like glass ready to shatter, three gods putting everything they got.

Everyone, wether Hollow, Shinigami, Quincy, thought that those three would kill each other in hatred.

But the truth is something else.

Ichigo was invited to this final fight. Two centuries to the end of what was dubbed as the Great Last War, Aizen and Yhawch ceased their torture and manipulation, everyone thought that they were preparing for something big, instead, they just sent a letter to the young Captain Commander, saying to end this war in one last fight that could destroy a world and the fight would take place in Hell. When Ichigo arrived the first thing he noticed were the faces of his enemies.

Aizen wasn't smiling, that god complex was nowhere to be seen.

Yhawch didn't activate his Allmigthy so his eyes with no purpose could be seen.

Ichigo was as worst as them.

They were all the same.

Tired.

Sad.

Devoid of life.

But he had to ask and their answers were unimaginable.

" Why now? " His anger at them long lost, forgotten. He didn't forgive them, he was just tired.

Yhawch said " I have been preparing for 1000 years for a war against Soul Society that was supposed to end after 5 years maximum. "

Aizen continued " In my calculation, there was a possibility that I would die by your hands Ichigo, but it would have only taken less than half a century. "

And Ichigo understood where this was going " You're tired of this, and you want to end this in a fight to the death. Everyone is still alive because all three of us are the only thing left that can protect them, if one of us dies then one race will disappear. "

The wound on his face was a result of an explosion that could be similar in effect, but not as large in scale, to the Big Bang. It seemed to have affected reality.

The Hollow ball starts to reach the Shinigami ball and connects with it, the Hollow and Shinigami energy began to mix with each other looking like a Ying Yang symbol, from the middle a black spot is seen until it spreads making the ball look completely black. An electric current appears around the now black ball and the Quincy one, the two currents then reach each other and connect.

Then the currents reach out to Ichigo, when they reach out to where his heart is, the currents drag the balls to him and he absorbs them, his two blades also disappear into particles right after.

" What just happened? " Ichigo has seen many things in his life but this reaches the top 5 of the list.

He hears a new sound, like people talking in the water, a white screen shows up in front of him. The screen becomes less and less blurry and starts to reveal a scene, the voices become more and more comprehensible until he hears what seems to be the end of the conversation. "
