Was Mikasa ready to pay for this?
Hell no. But, she can't help herself. Every part of her wanted to prove this bastard wrong. She wanted to rip that smile off his face and paint it on hers. Why must he challenge her? She just wanted a simple day at Blackrose' Bar, chilling with her gal pals, drinking the night away; but, Hitch's boyfriend had different plans.
He wanted to see who could hold their drink better. The bastard wanted her wasted. God bless Hitch, but this sleazeball was so below her standards. she could never understand Hitch's infatuation with younger men; they reeked of pretence and ulterior motives.
Well, call her stupid; but, Mikasa couldn't turn it down.
"Well, kid. If I win, you owe me $5," She retorted, hoping his broke-arse would turn a new leaf, and let this challenge go. But, to her dismay, his face lit up.
"You're on, baby girl." He winked at her.
she watched him scramble for his wallet. A nearly empty one, much to her delight; yet it produced a $5 note which he slapped on the table. She underestimated him, his pocket money came to the rescue.
"You'll pay for my drink, won't you?" Mikasa coated her voice with the perfect blend of innocence and placed her hand atop his.
Her lovely Hitch didn't seem to mind. She hardly minded anything, boyfriends were her accessory for socialite parties; this kid wasn't any different. He didn't seem to care, he flirted to his heart's content. Mikasa was usually the target in their little gatherings, not like she blamed anyone for hitting on her; little ol Mikasa had an innocent face, inviting every man to never consider her a threat.
Looking innocent while draped in a sexy outfit attracted much attention.
"Will you?" she mused, pouting her lips out and kneeling forward from where she set. Her low cut dress already had his attention, but now it had his interest. He eyed her, probably contemplating his financial shortage and shoved them to the back of his mind.
"Of Course! Two rounds, please!" He gulped.
See, she could have easily paid for herself but what's the fun in that? she was going to suck him dry. Well, he was already dry, it seemed like she would make him bleed. A drink and a challenge; he brought this on himself.
"What are you waiting for? Start drinking." Her fingers traced the rim of her glass.
Now, what this poor bastard didn't know was that she was quite the drinker. It started from drowning her sorrows in alcohol then it became a recreational activity; Ah, high school, those were the days.
"I'm a little lightweighted. Take care of me," she added the sexiest lie. He was delighted after all this was his plan.
Hitch, Mina and Hanna; her three beautiful mates, joined in on the action. They were the friends every girl needed. Supportive to the point of fault, bitchy to the point of love. She treasured them and they gave the same back.
"Quite the lightweight, I remember having to carry her home." Mina smiled at her. A silent nod is what Mina called this smile.
"Gosh darn! Don't drink so much, none of us can carry you today." It baffled her how genuinely concerned Hanna could make herself look. Mikasa wished she could morph her emotions on the spot like her.
Hitch caressed the kid's face. "We'd be too drunk to carry her home, won't we?"
That was all he needed. The twenty-something threw away all his funds in that moment for an essay one-night stand. Well, that's what he wanted at least. In reality, he got wasted before they even started. They placed all their bills on him, drank to their heart's content and chatted away till it was past closing time.
she was going to miss her girls.
They walked down Flo's Avenue street together, one last time. Everything but their careers were the same; they were set on a path that required leaving the little town of Galmore. Not like they were sad, their friendship wasn't going to end so easily.
None of them were bothered about leaving the kid behind. They made their way home, giving the final hugs and kisses.
"Call me when you're there, Mika," Mina said, voicing what the other girls wanted to say.
"Always, ya'll on my speed dial after all," she proclaimed, holding back the tears. Her girls. her town. Her life. she was going to leave all of them behind.
She was barely tipsy. Making home to her lovely mother and sister, she found them sleeping. she looked at their peaceful faces and burned it in her memory. These were the people she was blessed with; blessings she could never thank enough for.
she blew them a kiss each.
They had insisted on dropping her at the airport. Her girls were ready to make banners of goodbye. But, she said no. She was going to make her last night with them a memorable one. she knew her heart couldn't take another that morning.
Sweet. Home sweet home.
she was going to miss the smell. Every part of this little furnished apartment and its empty corridors. The smell of mom making coffee and little Ackerman setting the table with half-burned toast. God, that girl needed to stop burning everything. Her, eating all those burned toasts and omelettes because she didn't have the heart to say no.
She held her tears back.
Paradis College of Science and Engineering. It was her first and only choice; she fought tooth and nail to get in. It was her dream, the dream she made a reality and every part of her wished it was going to be worth it.
she was going to make it worth it. She was going to make her sweat and blood, in acquiring the scholarship and passing those ridiculously tough entry tests, worth it. The determination alone was never enough. You had to cheat, you had to lie, you had to make opportunities for yourself where there were none presented; giving lady luck a smooch always helped.
Setting her alarm, she fell on her bed ready for what was to come.
The plane landed in Trost city, a little over 4-hour flight which left her jetlagged. Growing up in the small town out South, they had little to no use of these fancy planes. This was her first time, and she'd be lying if it didn't make her uncomfortable. The poor man seated beside her looked so perplexed, perhaps he thought she was going to puke on him.
She found a cab with no issue. People here seemed hurried, walking past everything and everyone. From all the tales she had heard of city life, it was just that except the glamour and feeling of home. She was driven silently, any attempt of small talk with the driver failed; the man looked almost relieved when he finally reached their destination.
College wasn't bad. It was at least big, filled with a diverse set of students simply bustling by. Back in her High School, everyone knew them and every eye followed her; but here, she was another unknown face walking with the masses. Unknown face for now.
Fake it till you make it.
Those were the words she lived by. Not too shabby she'd say, they were practical and suited the type of life she lived. The type of life she wanted to live? Too much ambition and impracticality. She was the girl who chased dreams for the sake of chasing them. It never mattered to her, in the end, she simply had a thing to achieve.
With her will in mind, she sought to find her room. In the building opposite the college, all the housing was situated. Unlike the main building, this was rather rundown and populated with a less diverse group of people. she walked down the hallway, giving a little smile to whoever took a second glance at her; always giving a little reward.
Finding her room wasn't hard. It was numbered 43 and looked the most crowded. She watched a hoard of people clog the doorway, chanting rubbish that made no sense to her. All these boys weren't going to stop her from getting inside.
"Excuse me." she pushed through the crowd and entered.
Maybe it was her petite figure or her face, all eyes turned to her and paid no heed to what they came to see. What did they even come to see anyway? Her eyes scanned through the room and spotted a hot Adonis resting on a small bed while the other hottie was sitting on the floor. They had a makeshift table between them, supporting their elbows as they arms wrestled.
Or, they were arm wrestling before she came inside.
"Hello, boys. Continue, don't mind me." she batted her eyelashes, giving the ones who looked at her a beaming smile.
"Ma'am, are you sure you're in the right room?" The one with brownish hair asked her.
He was wearing a tight V-neck shirt that kissed his bodice so neatly. she could almost make out the folds of his muscles, which tightened the shirt with every little movement. She was a sucker for a hot man, undressing him with her eyes wasn't something she was ashamed of.
"Oh? I was assigned to room 43. Is this not it?" She mimicked the little head tut she learned from Mina. Mina always said, never look like you know too much if you want the upper hand.
"It is." The Adonis assured her with a smile.
"Boys, I think we should leave the lady alone in her room." The other hottie informed them.
He got up and walked past her, he barely kept an inch of distance between them as he walked away. she could have sworn his body radiated with all the good delights.
"Sorry, boys. I hope you manage a rematch." She tried to sound as concerned as possible.
Men loved the little bubble of concern for their tasks. It always made them feel validated and served as a cue to drown you with details.
"Don't worry. It was only $8 on the line. This cheapskate over here wouldn't have gone further up." The Adonis joked, slapping his friends back, as he headed out as well.
she could have sworn that Adonis gave her a good glance before leaving. He was checking her out alright, partly making her glad as she was wearing a low cut blouse with a neat pencil skirt. Looking professional with these bad boys on; the bad boys, being her trusty stilettos.
Ah, boys. A part of her wished to get them to clean their mess. The bed was ruined and there was litter around. Next time; she told herself. She had closely looked at each of their faces, each of the seven boys was going to pay for it later.
See, when you are new you have to tread carefully. A petty grudge with the wrong people can turn your life into hell while kissing up to the right ones always pays off. Until then, she was going to be careful. After that, she had all the plans of inflicting back what was thrown her way.
'You gotta' conquer them from the inside,' her lovely Hanna always said.
She started unpacking after cleaning the room. Neatly putting her top-notch wardrobe away and designated her undies to the drawers. She heard the door unlock and inside came a tall cutie. The girl is tall with brown hair neatly tied in a braid. She is dressed in an oversized shirt and a low skirt; Mikasa had to admit, the girl looked cute as a button. But there was something fake about her style as if she was trying too hard to look a certain way.
"They're finally gone." The girl sighed.
"Hello. You must be?" She extended her hand and gave her the brightest smile of her day. The girl tries to shake it, but the ample amount of items cradled in her arms start to fall.
"Oh, wait! I'll help." Mikasa picked them up while the girl dumped the rest on the other bed.
"I'm Ymir," she introduced, her voice melted so well with her thick Hispanic accent. she could hear this girl on repeat and never get tired of it.
"Mikasa. Funny name, I know. You can call me Mika." They finally shake their hands.

Authors note: I know this is nothing like canon Mikasa and nothing like the girls we see but I really wanted to make a different sorta Au. I don't like it when the protag is this innocent girl and the guy is this bad boy so Mikasa is as much a bad girl as Eren is a bad guy. Every other character will also be given this type of makeover and all of them will have a facade esp Frackle Ymir xD but I will try and retain their best qualities. Oh, also each chapter will contain a sorta music that inspired that chapter . Adonis is Eren and Hottie (Adnois friend) is Jean btw.
Thank you for reading ~
Let me know what you think about this idea since I don't think many people make Mikasa one of the bad ones. xD
