One day Ryder woke up not feeling well.

"Ohh.." groaned Ryder.

He put his hands on his stomach.

It ached.

Ryder got dressed and went downstairs.

The pups were playing in the yard when they saw Ryder.

"Hi Ryder!" called Chase.

"Hi.. pups." moaned Ryder as he walked up putting his hands on his stomach.

"Are you ok Ryder?" asked Rubble as he raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"I'm fine pups.." replied Ryder.

"You don't look fine," said Marshall, sounding a little serious.

"I'm ok pups." moaned Ryder.

Then he coughed a little.

"No you're not, come inside maybe we could find out what's wrong." said Marshall walking towards the Lookout to get his medical gear.

"Come on Ryder." said Rocky in a quiet voice.

"Oh.. ok.." coughed Ryder.

He slowly walked back to the Lookout with Marshall leading and the other pups around Ryder making sure he got inside the Lookout safely.

Marshall quickly got in his medical gear and Ryder collapsed into a beanbag in the hangout area.

"Ryder!" cried Chase. "Are you ok?!"

"I'm fine Chase." replied Ryder in a weak voice. "Just lost my balance that's all."

"Let's see what's really the problem." said Marshall.

"Ruff thermometer!" he barked.

A thermometer on a robotic arm popped out of a side pocket in his pup pack, and he put it in Ryder's mouth.

Moments later Marshall took it out and looked at it.

"Yikes! 102 degrees." he said.

"Does your stomach hurt?" asked Marshall. "You've been holding your stomach a lot by now."

"It does hurt." replied Ryder weakly.

Marshall pondered for a moment.

"Hmm, Ryder, I think you have a stomach bug." he said.

"What's that?" asked Skye.

"It's when your stomach hurts, you have a low grade fever and your joints are stiff." explained Marshall.

"That sounds serious." worried Rubble.

"It isn't that much." replied Marshall. "But Ryder will need to drink plenty of fluids and have plenty of rest."

"But who will lead the PAW Patrol if Ryder is sick?" asked Rocky.

Chase thought this was a time for him to take action.

"Me, of course." he said as he stepped in front of them in a proud manner.

The pups knew Chase had led them before.

Then I entered the Lookout.

"Hey Ryder, pups." I greeted.

Marshall and Rubble ran up to me.

"Adam!" they said as they wagged their tails.

"Hey guys, good to see you." I said as I knelt down and scratched the back of their heads.

Ryder, Chase, Rocky, Zuma and Skye saw me.

"That's Marshall and Rubble to you, always happy when Adam is around." chuckled Rocky.

"Hmm, maybe with Adam too." Chase said unamused.

"Glad you're here Adam, we have a big problem." said Rubble as I stood up.

""What's the matter, Rubble?" I asked.

"Ryder has the stomach flu." explained Marshall.

"Oh, Ryder are you alright?" I asked, concerned.

"I'm ok Adam." replied Ryder in his weak voice.

"Now there's no one to look after us and lead us on missions." added Rocky.

"Pups, like I said I'm now the leader." scoffed Chase.

"We know Chase." said Marshall in a little annoyed tone.

Then Rubble had an idea.

"Hey, maybe Adam can lead us today." he said.

I was surprised.

"Me?" I asked the bulldog.

"Sure Adam." Rubble replied. "I mean you're also a good person and I know you very well."

Out of all the pups Rubble knew me the best since I was his first owner, and Marshall since he was my favorite.

They also saw me as a brotherly figure to them since we got along very well.

"Yeah, Adam is like Ryder, he's so nice, he's quick thinking, and he's loyal." added Marshall.

I liked the compliments Marshall gave.

"I like your compliments Marshall." I said. "But I don't think I'd be as good as Ryder."

"Nonsense Adam," said Rocky.

Rocky also knew me well since we had talked before.

"I remember how you helped me fix Farmer Al's fence and helped us when sheep were escaping from the field," he said.

"Those are all good reasons," said Chase. "But obviously I'm the one that takes charge when Ryder isn't around."

"Yes, but let's give Adam a chance," said Marshall. "He might be better than you think."

"I'll believe that when I see it." said Chase unamused.

"Well Chase has a point," said Skye.

"Yeah, Adam hasn't had any experience at something like this." agreed Zuma.

"Hey, don't say that to Adam." scolded Rubble.

"Yeah, let's give him a chance." added Marshall.

"Marshall and Rubble are right, let's give Adam a chance," said Rocky.

Chase rolled his eyes.

"Please.. I'm the better leader here." retorted Chase.

"Chase.. how about you give Adam a chance?" said Ryder in his weak voice.

Chase was still certain he would do a better job but he reluctantly agreed.

"Oh, fine.." he said, annoyed. "But turn to me if he chickens out."

"He won't Chase." retorted Marshall. "I'll teach him what he needs to do."

Chase was still annoyed thinking he would do a better job.

"Ok.. pups." I said. "If you think I'll do a good job."

Marshall, Rubble, and Rocky were pleased I would be the temporary leader of the PAW Patrol.

But Chase still thought he would do a better job than me, and Skye and Zuma were agreeing with him at first.

"Ok then, first things first let's get Ryder comfortable." I said trying to think of how I could start being the leader.

"Let's have Ryder in here." said Marshall, "That way we can check on him."

"Good idea Marshall." I said.

First Marshall, Rubble and Rocky grabbed some pillows and made some space for Ryder to lay down so he could get rest.

After that I helped Ryder lay down and Rocky covered him with a blanket.

"There you go Ryder," he said.

"Thanks Rocky." said Ryder in his weak voice.

"Ok.. I guess I'm the leader today." I said.

"You'll need the pup pad too." added Marshall.

Rubble took the pup pad out of Ryder's vest and gave it to me.

"Thanks Rubble." I said. "Now how do you work this?"

When someone calls, tap their icon on the screen." explained Marshall. "Then to summon the pups just pull the blue side out and press the button."

Soon Marshall taught me everything I needed to know on how to work the pup pad.

Chase was watching everything.

"I can do a better job than Adam and I'll prove it." he said.

Meanwhile Everest and Jake were up near the cliffs.

A deer was stuck up a cliff and Everest was using her grappling hook to get up to her.

"Almost there." she said as she climbed up the cliff.

Soon Everest had reached the top of the cliff.

"Be careful Everest." called Jake standing by her snowcat on the road below the cliff.

It wasn't too high but it was pretty high but it was low enough for Everest to see the road and Jake.

The deer's hoof was caught on some branches and it couldn't pull free.

"Don't worry, I'm here to help you," said Everest.

Everest gripped the branches with her teeth and gently started pulling on them.

Soon Everest had pulled the branches away from the deer's foot.

"There you go." she said.

The deer nuzzled her.

"No problem." giggled Everest.

The deer scampered away.

"Now to get down," said Everest.

But as she was about to climb down, her back right paw slipped.

"Woah!" she cried.

Everest's back paws slipped off the edge and she grabbed the cliff's edge with her front paws.

Her grappling hook was still attached to the tree but with all of her weight on the cliff the branch was gonna snap.

Everest was left hanging on the edge of the cliff!"

"HELP!" she wailed.

Jake was shocked at what he was seeing.

"Hang on Everest!" he called. "I'm calling the PAW Patrol!"

Jake quickly pulled out his phone and called the PAW Patrol.

Meanwhile I was playing frisbee with Marshall, Rubble, and Rocky.

"Catch pups!" I called as I threw the frisbee.

Marshall, Rubble, and Rocky giggled as they ran to catch the frisbee.

"I got it! I got it!" cried Marshall.

He jumped up to catch the frisbee but as he caught it he tumbled onto Rocky.

"Sorry Rocky," said Marshall.

"It's ok Marshall, you caught it." replied Rocky.

Rubble and I laughed at Rocky's statement.

Then I heard the pup pad ringing.

I pulled it out of my pocket and answered the call.

"Hello Adam here." I said being like Ryder.

"Oh, hi Adam," said Jake. "Where's Ryder?"

"He has the stomach flu." I explained. "I'm the leader of the PAW Patrol today."

"Oh ok Adam, but there's an emergency." replied Jake.

"What's the problem Jake?" I asked.

"It's Everest, we were up near the cliffs, rescuing a deer when she slipped on the cliff after freeing it and now she's in trouble!" explained Jake as he turned his phone around so I could see how Everest was hanging off the cliff on the pup pad. "And her grappling hook is caught on a branch but if it breaks she could fall!"

I was surprised.

"Everest!" I cried.

I started to panic a little.

"Calm down Adam." said Jake in a reassuring tone.

I stopped and took a deep breath.

"Ok, sorry Jake." I said. "It's just I've never led a rescue team before."

"I understand Adam," said Jake. "But Everest needs help."

"Ok Jake, don't worry we'll be there soon. No job is too big, no pup is too small." I said as I used the pup pad to summon the pups.

"PAW Patrol, to the Lookout!" I said.

"Ryder needs us!" said the pups.

Then they realized it was my voice and they remembered I was the leader for the day.

"I mean.. Adam needs us!" corrected the pups as they ran toward the Lookout.

But as they ran in, Marshall tripped over a notepad and crashed into the elevator.

"Sorry. It's hard being a teacher." joked Marshall.

The pups laughed as the elevator rose.

Halfway up they put their gear on and the elevator went up to the observatory.

When they reached the top they jumped out of the elevator and stood in line in front of me waiting for their instructions.

"PAW Patrol ready for action, Adam sir!" said Chase.

"Hey, that has a ring to it." joked Rubble.

The pups and I laughed.

Then I pressed a button on the pup pad to bring down the screen.

"Thanks for hurrying pups." I said. "There's trouble on the cliffs." "Jake and Everest were rescuing a deer, when Everest slipped and now she's hanging off the cliff!"

The pups gasped in shock.

"Everest!" wailed Marshall.

The pups stared at Marshall.

"What?" asked Marshall.

"Don't worry little buddy." I reassured him. "..I mean Marshall." "We'll make sure she gets down safely."

"Uh.. what does Ryder do now?" I asked.

"Now pick the pups you need for the mission." explained Rocky.

"Oh right." I said.

I scrolled through the tags and picked Marshall first.

"Marshall, I need you to use your ladder to get Everest down safely." I said.

"Ready for a ruff-ruff rescue!" said Marshall in an enthusiastic tone. He was happy he had been picked, cause he was my favorite pup and cause he was gonna help save Everest.

Then I clicked Chase's icon.

"Chase, I need you to use your net to catch Everest if she falls." I said.

"Chase is on the case." said Chase as he stepped forward. "And the case of leading the team."

Marshall, Rubble, and Rocky rolled their eyes.

Then I clicked Skye's icon.

"Skye, I need you to fly near the cliffs, with your help we should find Everest in no time." I said.

"Let's take to the sky." said Skye as she did a backflip.

"Rubble, Rocky, and Zuma, you three can look after Ryder." I said.

"Of course Adam," said Rubble.

"You can count on us," said Rocky.

"Sure thing dude." said Zuma.

"Alright, I guess the PAW Patrol is ready to roll." I said.

The pups looked at each other confused.

"That's not right Adam." said Chase, annoyed. "It's PAW Patrol is on a roll!"

"Oh yeah that's it." I said.

"Alright! PAW Patrol is on a roll!" I said as I pumped my fist in the air and ran to the pole sliding down.

Marshall, Chase, and Skye went down the slide and deployed in their vehicles.

I raced out of the garage on Ryder's ATV and we set off for the cliffs.

"Skye, fly ahead to the cliffs to see if you can spot them." I said through the microphone on Ryder's helmet so Skye could hear me."

"Roger Adam." replied Skye as she flew ahead in her helicopter as me, Chase, and Marshall went on the road towards the cliffs.

Meanwhile Everest was still hanging on the cliff, still petrified.

"Help! Please help!" she cried.

"Don't worry Everest!" called Jake from the road. "The Paw Patrol is on the way!"

Soon Skye arrived at the cliffs.

She used her goggles to spot Everest from her helicopter.

Soon she spotted where Everest was in peril.

"Adam! I found her!" cried Skye as I tapped her icon on the pup pad so we could communicate.

"She's a mile away." said Skye on the pup pad.

"Thanks Skye, we're on our way." I said as I led Marshall and Chase towards the road by the cliffs.

Skye piloted her helicopter closer so Jake and Everest knew help was on the way.

"Skye, is that you?" asked Everest as she tried to keep holding on to the cliff.

"Don't worry Everest help is on the way." said Skye

Soon Marshall, Chase, and I arrived at the cliffs.

Jake was there along with Everest's snow cat.

"Hey dudes, good to see you." he said. "You need to do something before that branch breaks."

Marshall and Chase hopped down from their vehicles and saw how much trouble Everest was in.

"Don't worry Everest, we'll get you down." called Marshall.

I was panic stricken.

It looked even more intense then from what I saw on the pup pad.

"Uh.. Stay calm Everest." I called. "I'll.. think of..something.."

Chase knew I had too much pressure to think clearly.

"See I told you." he gloated. "Adam has no leadership so he is no leader. You should've stuck with me instead, at least I have better experience then Adam here."

Marshall was annoyed.

"Give Adam a chance Chase." he scolded.

Chase just scoffed.

"Well what should we do, leader?" he asked in a jealous sort of tone.

The way Chase said that made me feel even more under pressure.

"Uh.. Uh.." I said in a stressed voice.

"Chase quit!" snapped Marshall. "You're putting too much pressure on him."

"See? If you made me the leader the rescue would be over by now." said Chase.

Skye was hearing everything from her pup tag.

"Chase, stop putting pressure on Adam." she said. "He's never done this before, just let him think."

I couldn't stand it anymore.

"I don't know what to do!" I said.

I turned away and walked back to Ryder's ATV.

Marshall, Chase, Skye, and Jake were surprised.

Chase started to feel a bit bad for being mean.

"I'll talk to him," said Marshall.

Marshall walked over to Ryder's ATV.

I was sitting on it not knowing what to do.

"Adam," said Marshall in a small and quiet voice.

I looked over and saw Marshall.

"Oh.. hi little buddy." I said.

"Look Adam, it's okay," said Marshall.

"Why? I've done this before." I said.

"I know you haven't." said Marshall. "But everyone doesn't do good on their first time."

"Yeah, I get that." I said.

Marshall pounced onto the ATV and sat beside me.

I put my hand on his back.

Look Adam." said Marshall. "I understand you're under pressure. But I'll help you get through."

"Really?" I asked.

"Of course Adam, you're my best friend. And besides you've helped me when I ever feel down or conflicted so it's my turn to help you." said Marshall.

I felt a bit better.

"Thanks.. Marshall." I said as I patted his back.

"No problem.. Ad." replied Marshall. "Now, let's hurry, we need to save Everest."

"Right." I said.

I stood up from the ATV and walked back with Marshall beside me.

"Ok pups, let's save Everest." I said. "Chase, shoot your net below Everest to catch her in case she falls."

Chase knew I was serious so he said no more about wanting to lead.

"Yes sir Adam sir." he said. "Ruff! Net!"

Chase's net shot out of his pup pack and went into place below Everest.

"Ok, Marshall, use your ladder to get Everest down from the cliff." I said.

"You got it Adam," said Marshall.

"Ruff! Ladder!" he barked.

Marshall's ladder raised up and went up towards Everest. Then Marshall climbed up the ladder to help Everest.

"Ahh! I don't know if I can hold on much longer!" she cried.

"Don't worry Everest, I'll get you down." said Marshall as he reached the top of the ladder. "Put your back paws on the ladder."

"I can't see Marshall." cried Everest.

"Don't worry I'll guide you." replied Marshall.

"Ok I'll try," said Everest as she tried to feel for the top rung of Marshall's ladder.

"A bit more up." said Marshall.

Everest raised her back paws up a bit and she felt the top rung of Marshall's ladder.

"Good, now try to climb down a little." said Marshall as he climbed down the ladder a little so Everest could safely be on his ladder.

Everest just got her front paws on the ladder when the line on her grappling hook reached the end.

"My grappling hook is still on the branch." she said.

"Just put it back in your pup pack." replied Marshall.

"What if I do and I fall?" asked Everest as she looked back at Marshall.

"Don't worry I've got you if you do." reassured Marshall as he gripped Everest's back with his front paws.

Ok Marshall." she said as she felt Marshall's front paws on her back.

Everest's grappling hook let go of the branch and retracted back into her pup pack, but as she did she started to lose her balance.

"Woah!" she cried.

"Don't worry I've got you." said Marshall as he pulled Everest safely onto his ladder.

At last Everest was safely on Marshall's ladder.

"Phew! Thanks Marshall, you saved me." exhaled Everest.

"No problem, now let's get you down from here." replied Marshall as he started to climb down the ladder with Everest in front of him.

Soon Marshall and Everest were out the bottom of the ladder and safely back on Marshall's fire truck.

Then they hopped safely back on the ground.

"Ahh.. solid ground." sighed Everest as she felt her paws safely on the ground.

"Thank goodness." said Skye as she landed her helicopter near Marshall's fire truck.

Thanks pups for saving me." said Everest as she gave Marshall a big hug.

"You can thank Adam for that," said Marshall as he gave her a kiss.

"Yeah, he told us what to do so we could save you," said Skye.

"Thank you Adam." said Everest as she jumped into my arms and proceeded to lick my face.

"Oh, your welcome Everest." I said.

"Wait, if your leading then where's Ryder?" she asked with a confused look on her face.

"Oh, Ryder has the stomach flu, so I'm leading the PAW Patrol in the meantime." I explained.

"Oh, I hope he gets better," said Everest.

"I'll call Rubble to see how he's doing." I said.

I set Everest on her paws again then walked to Ryder's ATV to get the pup pad so I could call Rubble.

I got the pup pad and selected Rubble's icon so I could call him.

At the Lookout Rubble, Rocky, and Zuma were taking care of Ryder when Rubble's pup tag lit up and got the call.

"Rubble here." he said as he tapped his pup tag to answer the call.

"Hey Rubble." I said.

"Oh hi Adam." greeted Rubble. "Did you guys save Everest?"

"We sure did." I replied as I turned the pup pad around and knelt down in front of the pups so Rubble could see.

"Hey Rubble," said Everest.

"Everest, thank goodness you're safe." Rubble exclaimed.

"Yeah, since Adam told us what to do so I could use my ladder to save her," said Marshall.

"Good job Adam." said Rubble, happy that his first owner had led the team to save a member of PAW Patrol.

"Thanks Rubble." I said as I turned the pup pad back to face me.

I walked over between Marshall and Everest and knelt down so they could see the pup pad too.

"So how's Ryder doing?" asked Marshall.

"Well, we're doing whatever we can but he's still sick." replied Rubble.

"Will he be ok?" asked Everest.

"I'm sure he will." replied Marshall.

"When will you guys be back?" asked Rubble.

"Since Everest is safe and sound we were about to head back there now." I said.

"Great, I'll see you when you get back, then we can look after Ryder properly," said Rubble.

"Alright see you there." I said as I ended the call.

"Hey Everest, do you and Jake want to come with us?" I asked.

"Of course." replied Everest. "Jake and I were here to rescue a deer anyway."

"And we can help if you need help looking after Ryder." added Jake.

"Well let's get going." I said.

Chase knew he had something to say to me cause he felt bad for being so mean and jealous.

"Hey Adam, I'd just like to.." he started but I cut him off cause I thought he was gonna say how he should've been the leader again.

"Save it Chase!" I snapped. "I don't want to hear it."

Hearing that made Chase feel worse.

Everest and Jake got back in Everest's snow cat while I got on Ryder's ATV while Marshall, Chase, and Skye went back to their respective vehicles.

Soon we were all heading back to the Lookout.

On the way back Chase thought how he could put things right with me.

Soon we all arrived back at the Lookout.

Marshall, Chase, and Skye put their vehicles back in their parking spaces, I put Ryder's ATV back in the garage and Everest parked her snow cat outside the Lookout.

Then we all went inside the Lookout.

Rubble, Rocky, and Zuma were glad to see us.

"Hey dudes, glad your back." said Zuma.

"And thank goodness you're safe Everest." added Rocky.

"Thanks Rocky." said Everest with a giggle.

"Now what's the problem?" asked Marshall.

"We don't know what medicine to give Ryder," said Rocky.

"I can do that," said Marshall.

He changed into his medical gear.

"Just have a little medicine Ryder." said Marshall as he got the medicine ready.

"Ok Marshall." replied Ryder in his weak voice.

Marshall gave Ryder some medicine to help with his stomach flu.

"There, that should help," said Marshall.

"Thanks Marshall." said Ryder in his weak voice.

"How are you holding up Ryder?" asked Jake.

"My stomach still hurts, but I'll be okay." replied Ryder in his weak voice.

"Good thing Ryder is a little better," said Skye.

Then Rubble remembered how Chase had treated me ever since I took up leading.

"Chase, is there something you'd like to say to Adam?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.

Chase knew what Rubble meant.

"Adam, I'm really sorry I was mean to you, and for being jealous of you." he sighed.

"And?" asked Marshall.

"And I'm really sorry I put you under pressure during the rescue." added Chase.

"It's alright Chase." I said. "And I'm sorry I snapped at you before we left, I thought you wanted to say something else out of jealousy."

"It's alright Adam," said Chase.

Chase ran up to me and I gave him a big hug.

The other pups and Jake just smiled, they were glad Chase and I were friends again.

"And Zuma and I are sorry too Adam," said Skye. "We should've agreed in the first place."

"Yeah, sorry dude." added Zuma. "We should've seen Mawshall, Wubble, and Wocky's side of this since they knew you better then the west of us."

"It's ok Skye and Zuma." I said. "I admit, Chase does have better experience than me but they were right to give me a chance."

"Thanks Adam," said Skye.

"Yeah thanks dude." said Zuma.

"Anytime." I smiled.

"Now that's all sorted, let's let Ryder have some rest." said Marshall.

"Good idea Marshall." I said. "As temporary leader of the PAW Patrol let's go outside and have fun."

So we all went outside to play and have some fun.

I played frisbee with Marshall, Rubble, and Rocky.

While Jake had some fun with Everest and Skye.

While Chase and Zuma played together.

"Here it comes pups." I said.

I threw the frisbee as far as I could.

Marshall, Rubble, and Rocky ran after it.

"I got it! I got it!" cried Marshall as he tried to run ahead of Rubble and Rocky.

He pounced up but he missed and he tumbled onto the grass.

"Ow.." he said.

"I got it!" said Rubble.

He jumped up and caught it in his mouth.

"I got it." said Rubble holding the frisbee in his mouth.

"Nice catch Rubble." I said.

Rubble ran back to me with the frisbee in his mouth.

"Wait where's Marshall?" asked Rocky.

The three of us looked for a brief second and then we saw Marshall laying on the grass.

We ran over to him.

"Marshall, are you okay?" asked Rocky.

"No, my leg hurts." replied Marshall.

"Here, let me see." I said as I helped Marshall up and he sat down.

Rubble, Rocky, and I inspected Marshall.

Then Rocky noticed a scrape on Marshall's front left leg.

"Here it is," he said.

I held Marshall's leg and there was a scrape on it.

"You just scraped your leg when you fell, Marshall." I said. "Rubble, can you get a bandage?"

"Sure thing Adam," said Rubble. He ran off toward the Lookout to get a bandage.

Soon Rubble came back with a bandage in his mouth.

"Here Adam," he said.

"Thanks Rubble." I said as I took the bandage from his mouth.

I peeled off the paper and gently put the bandage over Marshall's scrape.

"Thanks Adam, you too Rubble and Rocky." said Marshall as he looked at the bandage covering his scrape.

Then we went back to playing but Marshall made sure to be careful cause of his scrape.

Later we went inside the Lookout.

"How are you feeling Ryder?" asked Marshall.

"I feel a little better." replied Ryder in his weak voice.

Then he noticed the bandage on Marshall's leg.

"What happened to your leg Marshall? asked Ryder in his weak voice.

"I just scraped it when playing frisbee with Adam, Rubble, and Rocky." explained Marshall. "It should be better in a day or two."

"Well that's good," said Ryder in his weak voice.

I looked at my watch.

"Well I guess I should go home." I said. "I hope you get better soon Ryder."

"Thanks Adam, and thank you for leading the PAW Patrol today." replied Ryder in his weak voice.

"No problem Ryder." I said.

As I walked outside the Lookout to my truck I was talking to myself.

"I wish I could be in the PAW Patrol also, if I was my vehicle would be a tow truck since I figure that's a nice vehicle choice, it would be red maybe with black maybe just so I'm not copying Marshall's signature color, I just wanted that to be reminded of him and I do like being prepared." I said to myself.

I got in my truck and drove home.

Marshall overheard what I said and an idea came into his mind.

"I'll have to ask Ryder when he's better." he said to himself.

Later Everest and Jake went back to Jake's cabin.

The next morning I woke up not feeling well.

"Ohh.."I said.

I put my hands on my stomach.

I walked into my living room and laid on the couch.

"Seems like I caught what Ryder had." I said.

I went on my phone to call Marshall to see if he could see what was wrong with me.

Marshall was checking on Ryder in his medic gear when his pup tag beeped.

He tapped his pup tag to answer the call.

"Hello," he said.

"Hi little buddy.." I said in a weak voice.

"Adam, are you feeling okay?" asked Marshall in a concerned voice.

"No, I don't feel good." I replied.

Marshall was surprised.

"Don't worry Adam, after I check on Ryder I'll get to your place as soon as I can." said Marshall.

"Ok Marshall." I said as I ended the call.

Marshall made sure Ryder was comfortable and gave him some more medicine so he could go and check on me.

As Marshall rushed to his ambulance Rocky walked up.

"Hey Marshall, what's the rush?" he asked.

"I need to check on Adam, apparently he isn't feeling well." explained Marshall.

"Oh, can I come too?" asked Rocky.

"Ok, but hurry Adam is waiting." replied Marshall.

Rocky hopped in his recycling truck and followed Marshall in his ambulance.

Soon Marshall and Rocky arrived at my house.

They parked their trucks in my driveway near my truck.

Marshall and Rocky ran up to the front door of my house.

Marshall knocked on the door and I did my best to walk over to the door.

I opened the door and saw Marshall and Rocky standing there.

"Hey little buddy, hey Rocky." I said in my weak voice.

"Hey Adam don't worry Rocky and I will look after you." said Marshall.

I laid back on the couch and Marshall took the thermometer from his pup pack.

He kept it in my mouth for a few moments and he took it out.

"Yep, it's a fever of 102 degrees like Ryder had yesterday." said Marshall.

"Seems like you caught the stomach flu," added Rocky.

"Ryder must've given me it." I said in my weak voice.

"Here, take some medicine," said Marshall.

"Here, just take some medicine," said Marshall as he got the medicine ready.

Marshall gave me some of the medicine he gave Ryder yesterday.

"Thanks Marshall." I said in my weak voice.

"Let's get you comfortable," said Rocky.

He quickly gave me a pillow with his claw arm from his pup pack.

Rocky put it under my head so I could rest then he got a blanket.

"Thanks Rocky." I said.

"I'll call Rubble to tell him about Adam." said Marshall as he tapped his pup tag.

Rubble and Chase were keeping Ryder company when Rubble's pup tag got Marshall's call.

Rubble tapped his pup tag so he could talk to Marshall.

"Hello." he said.

"Hey Rubble," said Marshall.

"Hey Marshall, where are you and Rocky?" asked Rubble.

"We're at Adam's, he caught the stomach flu from Ryder." explained Marshall.

"Is he ok?" asked Rubble.

"He seems ok as long as he gets plenty of rest." said Rocky through Marshall's pup tag.

"Well that's good." said Chase through Rubble's pup tag.

Marshall and Rocky stayed at my house for the day to look after me, while Chase, Rubble, Zuma and Skye looked after Ryder.

A couple days later Ryder felt much better.

Hey Ryder, how are you feeling?" asked Chase.

"Much better." replied Ryder.

"That's good," said Skye.

Then Marshall remembered what I had said a few days ago.

"Now I can tell Ryder my idea." He thought.

"Hey Ryder, can I suggest something?" asked Marshall.

"Of course Marshall what is it?" asked Ryder.

Marshall explained his idea.

"What a nice idea Marshall," said Rubble. "He'll love it."

"Thanks, it's just to make his wish come true, and to say thank you to him for being so loyal and always looking out for us, especially me." said Marshall.

"Well let's get to it." said Rocky.

So Ryder and Rocky set to work on Marshall's idea.

A few days later it was all done and Marshall even thought of a little something extra.

Soon Marshall was ready to reveal my surprise.

He tapped his pup tag to call me about it.

I was feeling much better and was sitting on my couch watching tv when the call came through.

I pulled out my phone and answered Marshall's call.

"Hey little buddy." I said.

"Hey Adam, how are you feeling?" asked Marshall.

"Much better, thanks." I said.

"Great, also can you come to the Lookout?" asked Marshall. "We have a surprise for you."

"Really, for me?" I asked. "What is it?"

"Well, come to the Lookout and you'll see for yourself." replied Marshall.

"Well ok then." I said.

I went to my truck and drove to the Lookout.

As I arrived I saw Ryder, Jake, the pups and Everest.

"Hey guys," I said.

"Hi Adam," said Ryder. "I see you're all better."

"I can say the same thing for you Ryder." I replied.

"So what's the surprise?" I asked

"Well Adam, I've been thinking when I got all better," said Ryder. "Marshall told me all about how it went and he also told me a little something that he overheard yesterday."

"Oh yeah?" I asked.

"Yeah I'm sorry if I was eavesdropping but I couldn't help but think of it." said Marshall.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah." said Marshall.

He told me how much I would like to be part of the PAW Patrol and wanted a tow truck for my vehicle.

"So Rocky and I made you.. this!" said Ryder as Rubble pushed a red tow truck with some black accents and the number 23 on it's sides into view with his bulldozer and Chase pulled it with his winch.

I was at a loss for words.

"Is that..?" I asked.

"It's for you Adam," said Ryder.

I walked over to it.

"What do you think Adam?" asked Rocky.

"It's amazing, thank you so much!" I said.

"And that's not all." said Chase.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yup," said Skye.

"Adam, for showing leadership skills when Everest needed saving and all your help ever since we first met you, I'd like to make you an official member of the PAW Patrol." said Ryder as he pinned a red badge with a silhouette of a tow truck with a bright orange warning light on my shirt.
"Wow, thank you Ryder." I said as I looked at my new badge. "But i'm not a pup."

"Neither am I." said Ryder with a laugh.

"And for your gear, your uniform is in the truck." said Skye.

I opened the driver side of my tow truck and saw what looked like a vest and that was red with some black on it.

"Awesome!" I exclaimed.

I quickly put on the vest over my normal shirt and pinned the badge on.

"Looking good," said Zuma.

"Thanks, Zuma." I said.

"Is there anything else you'd like before we give you your new role?" asked Marshall.

"Well I also wished I had a headset so I could talk to you guys if I needed to." I said.

"You got it." said Rocky.

He quickly ran inside and came back with a black headset with the mic on the right side in his claw arm.

"Here you go," said Rocky.

I took the headset and put it on.

"Awesome." I said.

"What do you think Adam, is that everything you would ask for?" asked Marshall.

"Yeah that's it." I said. "Thank you all so much."

No problem Adam, for a friend of ours I think you deserve to be part of our team." said Marshall.

"Thank you Marshall." I said.

So Ryder, Jake and the pups all welcomed the first human member of PAW Patrol to the team.

And for my role I was the prepared member of the team and could use my tow truck to help with rescues, Chase's winch couldn't handle.

I was so happy I was now a member of the PAW Patrol.

And Marshall and Rubble couldn't have been happier that their brotherly figure was a teammate of theirs.

The End
