Disclaimer: Naruto's not mine. He's Hinata's. Uh I mean Kishimoto sensei's.

I realised that I should stick to one-shots, I'm really terrible at making a series. Hurhur.

A non-massacre AU because the Uchihas deserve some happiness (:

The Uchiha brothers and their wives have a knack for naming their babies. This also acts as some sort of character introduction I guess?

Uchiha Baby names

The babies of the Uchiha clan head family has rather interesting names. This might be due to the uncanny coincidence that their parents, respectively, have the same first character for their first names.

1. Uchiha Sarada うちはサラダ

Sarada is the eldest of the six cousins of the Uchiha babies. Well, that makes her not really a baby anymore, but really, she is the baby of the family. Her parents had her quite soon after they got married, at the tender age of 21.

So basically, her parents and her were simply being babied around by the entire family when they came home with this bundle of joy after their year long travel cum honeymoon.

Technically, she was born in the same year as her twin cousins, but Sarada being Sarada, she looks out for everyone like their "ring leader".

Sarada's name is the unique one out of the six, she doesn't have any kanji for her name, her name is instead written in katakana only, as サラダ.

The meaning behind her name comes from a few places.

「Sa」comes from the first character of her parents' names. Her mama wanted her to also to share the same character as their names. She likes that this is a cute little connection for them.

「Ra」comes from her mama's name. Her papa had insisted on including another character from her mama's name because he felt really thankful to her mama for bringing her to the world.

Her papa is a tsundere and wouldn't admit it openly, but he loves her mama very much. He also secretly hopes that she will be more like mama than him.

「Da」comes from her Ita-ji's name. Well, technically her papa tweaked it a little, from 「タ」to 「ダ」, so that it isn't too painfully obvious that her papa loves her Ita-ji so much that he'll include his brother's name in his first-born's name.

2. Uchiha Ikuha うちは育葉

One half of the Uchiha twins, he was born about three minutes earlier than his twin sister. The twins were born in late autumn, almost winter in the same year as Sarada.

Ikuha's name in Kanji is 育葉. The meaning of his name is to nurture the young/future of Konoha.

「Iku(育)」 meaning to nurture

「Ha(葉)」meaning leaves and it comes from Konoha(木ノ葉)

Of course, there are other references in his name as well.

「I」Naturally comes from the first character of both his parents' name. His mama learned about how Saku-ba named Sarada and wanted to do the same. Well, coincidentally, his parents also shared the same first character, hence it works as well.

「Ku」As much as his papa doesn't want to admit it, since he is as much of a tsundere as his Sasu-ji, this comes from his Jii-chan, Fugaku's name. In a way, maybe his papa wants to thank his grandfather for nurturing himself and Sasu-ji.

「Ha」Of course comes from Konoha. His mama and papa had wanted to name him after Shisui-ji, but Shisui-ji suggested to name their babies after Konoha, since that was what deeply connected his parents and Shisui-ji. Shisui-ji personally chose the word 「Ha」 because he felt that children are the new leaves of the village.

3. Uchiha Itoha うちは愛葉

The other half of the Uchiha twins, Itoha was born after Ikuha. The three minutes felt like eternity for her mama before she was born, because her mama had exhausted most of her energy when giving birth to Ikuha. She managed to push through and give birth to Itoha out of sheer grit.

Itoha's name in Kanji is 愛葉. The meaning of her name is to love the young/future of Konoha.

「Ito(愛)」meaning to love

「Ha(葉)」meaning leaves and it comes from Konoha(木ノ葉)

「I」Of course, continuing the same trend as Ikuha, Itoha also shares the same first character as her parents. Sometimes it looks so funny when all their names are listed together, since it ends up as lots of「I」and 「Sa」.

「To」Her mama came up with this choice, in honour of her Baa-chan, Mikoto. Both her mama and papa thinks that her Baa-chan's love is the core strength of the family. Her mama is really close to her grandmother, people sometimes even mistakes her Baa-chan as her mama's mother, instead of papa's mother. Papa is happy about this but feels a teeny weeny bit lonely about it.

Ha」Like Ikuha, this comes from Konoha. At the same time, her mama thought that the word 「Ha」 sounds really beautiful for a girl. Her mama says it's almost like a cute little leaf dancing in the wind.

4. Uchiha Satoshi うちは里志

Three years younger than his sister, Satoshi is the first green-eyed Uchiha. His mama is rather worried whether this may cause him to not have the sharingan. His papa isn't worried though, since the sharingan works based on their chakra network, rather than eye colour. His papa secretly loves the fact that he inherited his mama's eyes. Sometimes his papa stares at his eyes longer than necessary, usually when his mama is on night shift.

Taking a leaf (the pun, really) out of his Ita-ji's book, his papa chose another way to pay tribute to the village.

Satoshi's name in Kanji is 里志. The meaning of his name is the will of the village, which is a reference to the will of fire as well.

「Sato(里)」literally means village, in reference to Konoha

「Shi(志)」means will, in reference to the will of fire.

And, to bring it a notch higher, his papa and mama named him after two Hokages of the village. Well they said that it's in reference to their old team.

「Sa」is the same as his Sara-nee, coming from his parents' names. But also a reference to his Sai-ji-chan. His Ino-ba-chan isn't too happy about this though, since she is mama's best friend. But she lets it go since Satoshi's name basically contains the entire team 7.

「To」refers to his Naru-ji. His Naru-ji loves to carry and play with him most partly because of this. He was super touched when his mama told him his papa chose this. His papa, being the tsundere he is, insisted that it is also a reference to Yamato-taicho who worked with his mama on team 7 when Kaka-ji wasn't with them. His Naru-ji felt quite bummed about sharing, though he is still very happy that his papa personally chose the word.

「Shi」refers to his Kaka-ji. His mama chose this, though his papa showed reluctance about it. His papa thinks that Kaka-ji is quite the bad influence. Though deep down, his papa does admire his Kaka-ji alot, his papa's just a tsundere, through and through.

5. Uchiha Sakutoうちは咲翔

One half of the "Uchiha surprises", Sakuto was born a whole month before his due date. His mama loves to joke that he decided to come out earlier because he doesn't want to be the youngest of the family. Well, he's barely ten hours older than his baby cousin. Izu-ba loves to tease him for wanting to be born earlier than her youngest child.

He was a surprise for his parents, they hadn't planned to have another kid so soon after Satoshi. Him and Satoshi are only a year and seven months apart.

His parents decided that his name would carry their wishes for the future, where the young can bloom and soar freely, hence his name, Sakuto(咲翔).

Despite his name bearing their hopes for the future, ironically, his names carries the most reference to both sets of grandparents.

「Saku(咲)」means to bloom.

This also carries a cryptic reference to his mama's parents. His mama can sometimes be a tsundere like his papa too

「To(翔)」means to soar.

「Sa」is the same as his Sara-nee and Sato-nii, sharing the same first character of his parents' names.

「Ku」is in reference to his Jii-chan, Fugaku's name. His papa actually wanted to use 「Fu」or 「Ga」instead, since his Iku-nii already carried 「Ku」but In the end Ku still sounds best.

「To」is in reference to his Baa-chan, Mikoto's name. His papa wanted to include either his Jiijii's name, Kizashi, or his Baabaa's name, Mebuki. But his mama insisted on Baa-chan's name instead. His mama is really close to Baa-chan as well, and Baa-chan loves his mama so much that his papa never wins any discussion with his mama whenever Baa-chan is involved. His papa loves to tease his Baa-chan that she loves her daughters-in-law more than her sons.

6. Uchiha Irohaうちは彩葉

The other half of the "Uchiha surprises", also the babiest of the Uchiha babies, it was a crazy day for the Uchiha family because her cousin Sakuto decided to arrive before her, at the break of dawn. Iroha was born ten hours later in the evening. Her Baa-chan always joked that they followed the sun's movements to arrive, one at sunrise, the other at sunset.

Iroha is honestly a surprise for her parents. She is five years younger than her siblings, just like her Sasu-ji. Maybe it's this little affinity, her Sasu-ji has a soft spot for her. That, or simply because she is the baby Uchiha princess that even her stoic Jii-chan and Sasu-ji cannot resist. She has them well-tamed around her little finger.

As with Sakuto, her name also carries her mama and papa's hopes for the future. They hope for a bright and colourful future for Konoha, hence the name Iroha(彩葉)

In fact, her name is like the last of a trilogy when put next to her siblings' names.

Iku(育)=nurture, Ito(愛)=love, Iro(彩)=bright and colourful.

It's almost like saying that by nurturing and loving the young, there will be a bright and colourful future for Konoha.

Maybe it's fated that they'll have her after all.

「Iro(彩)」meaning bright and colourful

「Ha(葉)」meaning leaves and it comes from Konoha(木ノ葉)

「I」Of course, continuing the same trend as her siblings. Her papa sometimes say that it also refers to 「I」from the will of fire, Hi no Ishi (火の意志).

「Ro」The unique thing about Iroha's name is that her parents intentionally chose 「Ro」without any references. They thought that their last child's name should have a character without any existing reference, so that the future will be up to the young to decide and colour, without considering too much about the past.

「Ha」As with her siblings, this comes from Konoha. Her mama says that Iroha's name actually carries the greatest weight in terms of their hopes and dreams for the village's future. Sometimes her mama wonders if that might be a little too much for Iroha.

When written together, the Uchiha brothers and their families' names looks quite funny.

Uchiha Itachi

Uchiha Izumi

Uchiha Sasuke

Uchiha Sakura

Uchiha Sarada

Uchiha Ikuha

Uchiha Itoha

Uchiha Satoshi

Uchiha Sakuto

Uchiha Iroha

The first character of their first names lined up will be:

I I Sa Sa Sa I I Sa Sa I, like a morse code of sorts.

They can never get around labelling things using their initials at home because of this.

Hoping to update with one shots for the pretty populated Uchiha fam regularly. hehe.

Please let me know what you think (:

Update: Thank you for the reviews! Fixed the "borned" part. Hurhur (:
