In Appalachia the threat of the scorched was a nuisance due the vaccine made all immune to it and for a time this was true. Then sightings of pure black animals became a new problem, most weapons took lots of shots before they died, heavy weapons were better but they often were heavy and bulky, not to mention the ammo for these were hard to find and make. A temporary truce between the Raiders of the crater, the Foundation, and the Brotherhood of Steel was able to push back this monsters and soon the source was found a portal near the Hornwright Rockhound, a base with the help of some vault dwellers had managed to set up a base to keep them from coming out. The group of people whose job it is to explore the world beyond the portal had Ben, a human deathclaw hybrid who found a friend group to stay with. Ben loudout has a 50. Cal machine gun, mini gun, Gatling laser, rocket launcher, and a mini nuke launcher. His armor is a modified power armor made to fit him. He is nice and kind but if anyone messes with his friends and he gets angry quickly, Ben works as a guard for caravans, he is known to eat most things, rads aren't a problem. He came from DC, he became a hybrid due to angering some raiders and out of desperation he took an offer from a scientist. He would make him stronger to give him a chance. That is how he become a hybrid.

Then there is Sam, she wears two backpacks as she is known as the cheap chem dealer, she wears this back on the front and wears this backpack on her back. She is strong though she doesn't look like it, she has a 10mm pistol and a modified syringer named "Mobile Med" as it was made to shoot stimpaks, and a bonesaw. Sam has experience in medicine, she wears combat armor, she mostly wears a responders paramedic jumpsuit. She came from vault 94, she managed to survive and escape the raiders that killed everyone in the vault. She keeps a pistol as a last resort. She wears a raider gas mask. She has a field hospital set up at Morgantown Airport, she sells chems as a side business.
Zi Yin, Tan Lan and Wu Huo were chinese soldiers who deserted, they worked with raiders, they were known as the "Chinese raiders". Zi Yin wears marine combat armor. She uses a chinese assault rifle, likes to use molotov cocktails or any grenade, and she is a heavy drinker. She is a bit reckless and is most of the time seen is her when she is not raiding.
Tan Lan wears a chinese stealth likes to use a suppressed 10mm smg and 10mm pistol, a syringer loaded with trac rounds and uses a ripper as a backup. (more or less a chainsaw knife)
He likes to avoid deaths as he dislikes unnecessary as the bombs had killed enough, he uses the syringer on caravans, and his guns on beasts, he cares for Zi Yin as she is his twin. This is him without his stealth suit.
Wu Huo wears power armor, a custom uses a light machine gun, a revolver and a Chinese officer sword. Wu Huo was a commander before he deserted, Zi Yin was the grenadier, Tan Lan was the stealth recon. He saw that there was no more enemy and got his squad to leave with him. He cares for his squad. This is his look without power armor.
