Three months after they apprehended Slick on Christosis, both Cody and Rex still did not fully understand his reasoning for giving up their brothers. Still, they needed to continue their duties as commanding officers and so Cody was with his General looking for the source of an old distress beacon. It was from a ship that his General had flown when a Padawan under Jedi Master Jinn, but it had been stolen many years ago. When the beacon was finally detected the Council ordered General Kenobi to investigate.

Finding the planet in question, there was a surface mission ordered to find out more. When they landed on the planet's surface there seemed to be something off, with how the planet seemed to shift every ten minutes like clockwork. There was also something creepy about how the wind seemed like whispering voices and the air stank of death. The landing site was mainly dirt and rocks, with a slope leading up to where the old ship crashed.

Despite the creepiness the men still kept up discipline and fell into formation as they climbed up the rocky slope. Until a giant creature that was a mixture between a serpent and a bird swooped down and carried one of the troopers off. Then they all broke for cover shooting at the six more creatures that followed it. After another panicked few minutes of making sure the creatures were gone, they continued up the slope more cautiously.

When they found the ship there was another group of the creatures surrounding it and they attacked the intruders viciously until a new and familiar sound came. The sound of a lightsaber. But instead of the familiar blue of General Kenobi's lightsaber the light of this one was green as the user leapt on each of the creatures in turn, cutting through each of the strange creatures enough to scare them off.

It was only after the creatures fled that the figure stilled and they realized that not only was it a teenage female, but she was wearing the remains of Jedi robes. As she turned towards them they saw that under the dirt she had dark honey brown skin and golden brown hair, but her eyes were striped gold and green. She bowed to the General, "Master Kenobi."

The General stepped forward, "You have the advantage, young lady." She looked up as he continued, "You know my name, but I don't know yours."

At that the teenager swallowed, "I don't have one Master." Looking down at the only creature she had killed, "My Master, the Dark Woman, thought that I didn't need one."

General Kenobi reached up to stroke his beard, "And why is that?"

"Because I am too weak to earn a title of any kind." A shrug, "She told me that when I passed the tests I would get a denominator."

Cody could tell that the General tensed at this as he said, "And where is your Master now?"

The kids shoulders slumped, "She left me here to improve." Looking at the tattered robes, the cuts on the bare skin, and the multitude of bruises including a black eye Cody had to control his clenched fists. Whoever this 'Dark Woman' was, she didn't deserve to have control of anyone. As if sensing something of Cody's anger the kid spoke again, "Master said that she would return every few months to check on my progress."

It was as a High Council member that the General asked, "And how long ago did this start?"

Wrinkling her nose in an attempt to remember, "A year and three months." Looking up at him worried, "But I am improving! Please don't make me leave the order." The last part of this was a quiet plea addressed to her bare feet.

Looking at her the General seemed to come to a decision, "There are times when one Master isn't the right fit for a Padawan and a different one would be a better fit." The kid looked up at him as he continued, "How would you feel if I took over your training?"

Brightening slightly she answered, "I would be honored Master." Then she looked up at the sky slightly wistfully.

Correctly deciphering the look the General spoke, "You will have to come with me back to my ship of course." As the kids slightly shocked gazed locked back at him, "And accompany me on my missions for the Republic as well as the Council."

Bowing to him again, "Yes Master, thank you Master."

He bowed back, "You are most welcome, my Padawan." Then she followed him towards the wreckage of the old ship. Yes Cody thought, we have a new Jedi. I wonder if any of the other Commanders will know how to convince her to wear armor.
