The wind howled as the leaves danced and twirled in the breeze. I had a fascination watching things move together instantaneously without interruption. It made me feel like I was at a ball wearing a beautiful white flowing gown under a silver feathery masquerade mask. Just waiting anxiously for that person to enter, for the whole crowd to let out a dreadful grasp as they stared while he walked towards me. How dreadfully I desired just one dance with him, but it doesn't last long. He always leaves and says he'll see me later, later never comes. I always wake up from my alarm for school or when the doorbell rings when I'm on vacation. That dream, I had it again, it was all that was on my mind.

"It sure does look chilly outside, doesn't it?" asked Meili as she interrupted my thoughts. She sat next to me with her gray jacket with sky blue fleece as she clasps her hands together and smiled at me. Her olive green eyes watching me as she smiled gently.

"Belle's too busy lost in her daydreams again." Answered Alexandria who sat in front of me giggling and smiling underneath her bright red lipstick. She moved her long raven colored hair behind her ear and continued to watch me.

"No, it's just. I rather be elsewhere than in school." I responded rather annoyed as I looked adjacent of my seat towards Diedre who was scribbling down on a piece of paper then looked up at us. Her peached colored hair was messily in a bun as her eyes squinted the more she worked on her assignment.

"I rather be drinking hot cocoa and bundled in my sheets, but after homeroom ends I have to go to a stupid meeting with Mrs. Fassio." She snapped as she continued scribbling away, her pink baggy cardigan flapping away as she worked.

"If you need help in that class, I don't mind." Meili offered as Diedre interrupted.

"It's not that. She just thinks I live for her class and don't have other classes." As Diedre explained, the bell rang making her groaned annoyed. She held her temples and stood up and looked towards us.

"Well, have fun girls. I have to go be tortured." She said as she grabbed her flower knapsack and rushed out of the classroom.

School had ended for the day. I left with Meili and Alexandria, we walked in the cool autumn wind to Alexandria's car, and we waited in her car as it warmed up as they made plans I ignored. They chatted away while I stared up to the sky. The clouds were nice and poofy, not a single grey cloud. I kept thinking of that reoccurring dream, how much I wanted it to see what happened next after the ballroom dance. We stopped to pump gas and Meili asked me what drink I wanted from the coffee shop we would stop by next. I asked for the usual as I pulled out my phone and looked up masquerade masks online. I saw a myriad of lacey and glittering designs. Some had handles to hold them by while others had sharp pointed beaks. I couldn't find any that look quite like the one in my dream, so I continued scrolling down while we sat in the coffee shop as Alexandria and Meili chatted. Meili's dark blue braid gently rested on her shoulder, moving every once in a while as she jumped around in her seat. Alexandria watched her with her big orange eyes and giggled every once in a while. Occasionally I would nod or say yes, but the truth was I zoned out to everything the girls said. Someone tapped my hand while I continued scrolling through my phone and instinctively I shook my head. Words ricochet from my ears, I continued to shake my head.

"What are you doing?" a voiced asked and I jumped in my seat. "I thought you were downloading the app." It was Alexandria, she had startled me. "Have you not been paying attention? You just nodded when that café worker asked us why don't we try out this new app."

"What? Oh, I was about to after I was done looking at these." I lied as I giggled nervously and went to the Appstore on my phone.

"Okay, what's the app called?" Alexandria asked annoyed.

"Well, I didn't get the whole named."

"It's called 'Digimon Friendship Pass', it has an Agumon on the app." Meili replied, most likely trying to diffuse an angry Alexandria.

"Meili, she wasn't even listening." Alexandria whined.

"It's fine, she was busy, and we didn't even ask what she was doing."

"Even then, why does she feel the need to pretend like she knew what was going on?" Alexandria snapped

"Look girls, I'm sorry." I explained as I set my phone down and showed them my search results. Nothing but different masquerade masks filled the screen. "I had my mind preoccupied and well…Deidre gets annoyed when I try talking to her about it." I revealed embarrassed because Deidre has snapped at me for that ballroom dream I've mentioned to her maybe ten times by now. I don't think I had ever mentioned it to the others. But how could I? I was closer to Deidre; I knew her longer than the others.

"Yes, she can be very blunt. But have you spoke to us about it?" Meili asked as the server returned with our coffees and pastries. Meili placed a chocolate strawberry in a wrapper in her purse and said it was for Diedre when we saw her later. Meili took a bite of her blueberry scone while Alexandria ate her cherry shaped cake pop. As the girls ate their sweets, I took a deep breathe.

"Okay, I guess I should have told you guys about this before. So I guess listen up?" I said nervously as the girls took a sip of their coffee and smiled at me. The atmosphere felt so different, it felt warm and welcoming now that I was going to share the dream.

"I have this reoccurring dream that I am at a party in a ballroom, and I'm all dressed up nicely. Then this uninvited guest comes in and everyone is all freaked out, but I'm happy. So I dance with him, until he says farewell and says he'll return later, but well…I'm not sure how it ends because I always get waken up." I explained feeling my face red as a cherry while my friends smile so widely and excited. Alexandria and Meili looked at each and giggled, then back towards me.

"Is he handsome?" asked Meili, shaking her fists.

"Does he kiss you?" asked Alexandria as she placed her hand on her chin.

"Haha. Well see, I'm not sure what happens after that…but yes to both of those things." I squeaked out as the girls squealed and even the sever who was overhearing our conversation squealed out too. She was the café owner, and every once in a while she would join in on our conversations. She was a much older woman, twice our age. We never minded, she was kind and always gave sound advice to us.

"Maybe it was a past life?" Meili guessed.

"Or maybe it's the future." Alexandria said.

"Well…whatever it is. I'd like to know what else happened." I mumbled as I stirred the straw in my coffee as it swirled around embarrassed that I revealed my fantasy dreams to my closest friends. "When I dream of it, I can't help but think of nothing but that for days."

"Haha, that's okay. I think we all have weird fantasies. Mine is I am a beloved ballerina." Meili chuckled as she finished her scone and wiped her mouth. "Ballerinas are so graceful and talented, something I would like to aspire to be."

"In mine, despite the fact I love drawing and painting, mine is that I am a model, and everyone is painting or drawing me." Alexandria announced as a loud beeping began. We all looked at our individual phones then to each other. Alexandria turned her phone towards us, it read "Download Complete" and had an Agumon dancing on the screen.

"So, since we're all done downloading the app…let's open it together" Meili suggested as I realized I never hit download on my phone and immediately pressed it. I felt my heart pounding, I didn't want the girls to think I had been ignoring them again. The girls opened their apps as a serene melody from a piano played, they clicked away on their phones while I anxiously waited for mine to finish downloading.

"Nice, so I got a Guilmon." Alexandria revealed as she smiled showing us a pixelated red dinosaur that was now in her app icon.

"Well, looks like I'm somewhat keeping the default app icon, mine is a SnowAgumon." Meili said as she showed her phone to us, a light blue Agumon was displayed. I looked back at my phone while my download completed, I quickly opened the app frantically.

"Okay…just waiting for mine." I said nervously as I looked at my screen. I didn't want them to get angry with me the way Deidre does when I forget to do something. I felt my heart drop as the icon turned into an egg that hatched. A purple imp replaced the orange dinosaur from the default on the app. The display for the Digimon name appeared. "I got an Impmon." I read the name out loud.

For the rest of that time there, we quietly fiddled through our phones. The girls played with the app and giggled at how the Digimon would respond to their questions via text boxes, I didn't play with mine. Instead I began searching up ballroom decorations, how I longed to remake the scenes from my dreams so I could experience them in person. That dream always put me in a certain mood, I wanted to meet that person from my dream. My Digimon didn't really matter to me, despite the girls being excited over theirs. I guess we all had our own little fascinations. That night when I arrived home I laid in my bed and replayed the scenes from the ballroom over and over. I ran my hands through my long sleek dirty blonde hair, I truly hope whoever that person was, I hope I get to see him again. I hope he finds me to beautiful, that he gets lost in my dark purple eyes and the sound of my voice puts him in a trance. I thought repeatedly as I drifted peacefully to sleep.
