It was like any other day in the turtle lair. Everyone was off doing their own thing - Donnie in his lab, Mikey playing some video games, Raph in his room trying to get some concert tickets, Splinter was having his daily tea, and Leo was obviously meditating. It didn't took long for Leo to find his inner peace and let all the negative energy go away. Sadly, for Leo that didn't last long.
"Hey, Leo, Raph kicked me out of our room," Mikey spoke up.
Leo opened his eyes and turned to his youngest brother. He sighed. "What did you do this time, Mikey?"
"I didn't do nothing, I swear!" Mikey said. "I finished my game and went back to my room, but Raph kicked me out and he...he..."
"He what?" Leo frowned.
"Was...crying," Mikey spoke in an uneasy tone.
Leo paused. Raph and crying...that was the oddest combination he had ever heard. Also the two don't mix together. Raph always tried to make himself be the tough guy that doesn't guy, but probably cries in secret. In fact, the last time he cried was when they were kids, but that was a very long time ago. Also Leo knew that there was no way Mikey would be lying about Raph crying. Leo wanted to asked if Mikey was joking, but the look on Mikey's face was serious and Leo knew he wasn't joking about it.
"I'll see what's going on," Leo said.
"Thank you!" Mikey hugged him.
"Yeah, yeah."
As Leo walked out of the dojo, he could hear sobbing sounds coming from the hall. Even Donnie was out of his lab, looking very worried. Splinter on the other hand, didn't seemed phase by this. Leo wondered if there was something their father knew about Raph that they didn't, but he was sure his father had a good reason not to tell them some things.
Donnie pointed to Raph's and Mikey's room. Leo walked up to the door and listened on what's going on. All he could hear Raph was crying and saying something he couldn't hear. Leo glanced at his younger brothers who were standing next to each other, ushering him to talk to Raph. With a deep breath, Leo knocked.
"Go away, Mikey!" Raph snapped.
"It's me," Leo said.
Then there was silence, aside from a few sobs from Raph. Leo could hear his brother shuffling from the bed and slowly walking over. As the door opened, Leo was taken aback. Raph was indeed crying. His eyes were puffing and for the first time in Leo's life, he looked like in a really bad shape. When Leo opened his mouth, Raph hugged him. Eyes widened, Leo froze. As much as he wanted to be pleased that his younger brother was hugging him, but everyone and he really meant everyone knew that Raph would very rarely do this. Leo stared at Donnie and Mikey, but they too were in shock as he was. It looked like as if their soul was leaving their body.
What do I do? Leo mouthed.
Help him! Donnie and Mikey mouthed back.
Awkwardly, Leo patted Raph's shell. That seemed to do the trick as Raph stopped crying for a bit, letting out a few hiccups. Leo gently pushed his brother off of him and gave him a smile.
"Wanna talk about it?" Leo asked.
Raph nodded.
Without a word, Leo guided Raph back into his room. As he shut the door behind him, Raph fell flat on his bed, crying into his pillow. Leo pinched his temples. He had dealt with many, many problems during their missions, but this one...was something he never thought he expected. Leo sat on the edge of Raph's bed and patted his shoulder.
"So, what's wrong?" Leo asked.
"T-Tickets sold out," Raph sobbed.
Leo blinked. Ticket?! That's it?! Leo didn't saw how the situation was getting ridiculous by the second, but since tickets being sold out caused Raph to act this way, he knew he needed to do something to make sure Raph was back to his normal self.
Leo was aware that Raph was going to buy concert tickets to "be with his people" ever since Donnie made mutagen that could temporarily turned them into human only for a few hours, which was good cause they could scout at topside and do some yonin. Of course Leo was against the idea using the mutagen for selfish reasons, but Raph begged, on his knees (surprisingly) and Leo reluctantly agreed, but only one time. Now, seeing Raph in this state, this band must be a big deal.
"Raph, I'm sure you'll get those tickets next time," Leo said.
"But it's the concert of a lifetime!" Raph cried.
"I know, I know, but you can watch it on YouTube or sneak inside."
"It's not the same, Leo!"
Leo sighed. "Raph, sit up and look at me."
To Leo's surprised, Raph did as he was told. Raph crossed his arms and pouted. Leo took out a handkerchief and wiped his younger brother's eyes. Leo couldn't help it, but felt a bit nostalgic about it. He hadn't done this since they were little kids.
"I know you were excited about this concert," Leo said. "but there will be a next one. I can guarantee it. When's the concert?"
"This Saturday." Raph sniffed.
"I'm sure they'll be showing it live on YouTube, so why not we watch it together?"
Raph's eyes lit up. "Really?!"
Leo nodded. "Really. Besides, this band must be a big deal."
"They are! They're amazing! Their songs are so meaningful!"
"That's good to hear. I'm looking forward to it."
"You won't be disappointed, Leo."
"Good, can you let Mikey in now?"
Raph narrowed his eyes. "Can I stay in here a bit more? I'm still sad I missed the chance to see my husband up close."
Leo stared at his brother blankly. Did he just called one of the band members, his husband? At this point, Leo just wanted to make sure Raph was going to feel better and he was close.
"Okay," Leo answered. "I'll make sure Mikey does something productive while you're in here."
"Thanks Leo! You're the best."
Leo paused. A compliment from Raph? Who is this band and what did they do to his tsundere brother?! Leo knew this should be a good thing that Raph was being nice to him, but this was way out of character for him. Leo slowly nodded and quickly walked out of his brothers room. Donnie and Mikey were waiting and like always they were very, very worried.
"So?" Mikey asked. "Can I go in?"
"Raph's getting better," Leo answered. "Just give him some space for an hour or so and he'll be back to normal."
"You sure?" Donnie questioned.
Leo rolled his eyes. "Yes, I'm sure."
His younger brothers nodded being convinced, since this was Raphael they're talking about. Donnie went back to his lab and Mikey went into the kitchen. Leo let out a heavy sigh. This was the most weirdest thing that had ever happened and he had seen weirder. As Leo went back into the dojo to do some more meditation, he hoped that things won't get any weirder.
