THIS WAS WRITTEN FOR FUN NOT FOR ANY FORM OF PROFIT DISNEY OWNS ALL OF THEIR ALADDIN CHARACTERS IN THE STORY. I own none of these original Disney characters from the three movies or Saturday morning cartoon series of Aladdin. There will be no crossovers, but this will be a musical story. And some lyrics will be changed to fit the story and some things will stay the same others will change. Also a few headcanons will be thrown in as well as known scrapped Disney ideas for the series. I am not very good at describing clothes. So you can find pictures I made for the story on DeviantArt at the-new-Kanna-Shoma I hope you enjoy this retelling, again.*
This story has been told before. . . But this has a reverse twist.
Let's see how it goes, shall we?
"Oh, I come from a land, from a faraway place. Where the caravan camels roam." A small female merchant sings as she makes her way through the desert as the sun starts to set. "Where it's flat and immense. And the heat is intense. It's barbaric, but hey, it's home." She rides a camel, starting to approach a kingdom. "When the wind's from the east and the sun's from the west. And the sand in the glass is right." Sunset becomes night as she rides through the bustling city. "Come on down, stop on by. Hop a carpet and fly. To another Arabian night. Arabian nights, like Arabian days." Making her way through. Passes street performers, other merchants, and vendors. "More often than not. Are hotter than hot. In a lot of good ways." She walks into a free space. "Arabian nights, beneath Arabian moons. A fool off his guard. Could fall and fall hard. Out there on the dunes." She slides off the tired camel.
She is wearing a green robe with a magenta belt, black hair in a low ponytail. With gold earrings. Looking over hearing a noise, smiling as she spotted a couple of curious kids. "Ah! Salaam and good evening to you worthy friends. Please, please, come closer." She motions her hands for them to come closer. The kids were hesitant until she offered some apples. They smiled wide, rushing over quickly eating the fruit. The small lady smiles with a light chuckle. Looking at the kids getting an idea. "Do you two know of the Legendary Jasmine?" Their looks of confusion gave her their answer. "Come on! This is Agrabah." She pulls out a match and uses it to light some of her face. "The city of mystery." The merchant brings the camel's face close to hers. "And enchantment!" The camel grunts, causing the kids to laugh.
"Ooohhh! You like jokes huh? Then look at this!" She pulls out a plastic box with a lid. "Rarely can one of these be found intact. This is the famous Dead Sea Tupperware. Listen." The merchant pries it open and makes a raspberry sound. "Ah, still good." The kids laugh more. "Now this is exceptionally rare." She gives a sly smile as the kids' eyes widen.
The merchant pulls a simple looking bottle out from her sleeve. Earning puzzled looks from the kids. "Do not be fooled by its commonplace appearance. Like so many things, it is not what is outside, but what is inside that counts." She says as the nameless lady blows dust off of it. Disbelief could be seen on the kids' faces. "This is no ordinary bottle. It once changed the course of a young woman's life. A young woman who liked this bottle was more than what she seemed." Seeing the kids raise their eyebrows she excitedly continues. "A diamond in the rough. Perhaps you would like to hear the tale?" The kids excitedly nod. The merchant pours shiny sand from the bottle into her hand. "It begins on a dark night." She throws the sand into the sky, where it forms a starry nightscape. "Where a dark woman waits, with a dark purpose."
A dark yet elegant lady sits on top of a horse. She waits as a small male thief rides up on his horse, jumping off as he looks up at her. "You're late." Her voice is colder than ice. "A thousand apologies, O patient one." He says with snark. "You have it then?" "I had to slit a few throats to get it." He pulls out half of a golden scarab. The woman reaches out for it, only for the thief to yank it back. "Ah, ah, ahhh! The treasure!" A red parrot squawks flying by swiftly, grabbing the scarab half. "Ouch!"
"Oh trust me, my pungent friend. You'll get what's coming to you." "What's coming to you! Awk!" Her bird mimics while landing on her shoulder. She pulls out a second half of the scarab. Connecting the halves, it begins to glow. Suddenly the scarab flies out of her hand, scaring the horses, and it speeds off towards far-off dunes. "Quickly, follow the trail!" They ride following the glowing scarab, until it reaches a large dune. It separates into two, the halves plunging into the dune. The dune begins to rise, transforming into a giant tiger head, with the glowing scarab halves serving as the eyes.
The lady looked in amazement. "At last, after all my years of searching, the Cave of Wonders!" "Awk! Cave of Wonders!" "By Allah!" Softly says the thief. She picks him up by his shirt then pushes him in the direction of the cave. "Now, remember! Bring me the bottle. The rest of the treasure is yours, but the bottle is mine!" The thief starts to approach the large sand tiger mouth, which is the entrance to the cave. Chuckling as he goes.
The bird glares at him then looking at the lady, the bird speaks in normal English. "Jeez, where'd ya dig this bozo up?" She puts her finger to her lips and shushes him. The thief reaches the cave, but is blown away by the roar of the cave's yawning.
"Who disturbs my slumber?" It bellows out. The thief flinches then kneels and bows to the cave. "It is I, Gazeem, a humble thief." "Know this. Only one may enter here. One whose worth lies far within. A diamond in the rough."
Gazeem turns to her with a questioning look. Rolling her eyes she waves him to go forward. "What are you waiting for? Go on!" He hesitates, then moves one foot inside the cave. With great apprehension, he plants his foot down.
Nothing happens.
Relieved, he begins his trek again.
When suddenly another roar comes. He turns back to run, but the tiger's mouth slams shut, and the dune collapses back to how it was before. All that is left are the lady, the parrot, and the two separated halves of the medallion. She yells "Nooooo!"
"Seek thee out, the diamond in the rough." The cave now deformed repeats in a small echo till it fully fades.
The bird unburied himself from the sand, coughing as he did so. "I can't believe it. I just don't believe it. We're never gonna get a hold of that stupid bottle! Just forget it. Look at this. Look at this. I'm so ticked off that I'm molting!" He rants and flies up to her shoulder. "Patience, Iago. Patience. Gazeem was obviously less than worthy." Iago then says with extreme sarcasm. "Oh, there's a big surprise. That's an incred-I think I'm gonna have a heart attack and die from that surprise! What're we gonna do? We got a big problem here, a big prob-" She pinches his beak shut. "Yes, we do. Only one may enter." She starts to scheme.
"I must find this one, this...diamond in the rough."
