"You should go home" Leo told his son, concerned.

"Not a chance, dad" Wyatt answered tilting his head to the side to face him. Stretching his arms above his head a moment later.

"Look. Take her home, get something to eat, check on the kids…"

"That actually sounds about right…" he sighed looking down at his bride Sam, caressing her head. "We'll be back in a while" he told his father who nodded, glad Wyatt agreed to take a moment to recharge which he clearly needed.

"Babe" Wyatt started gently shaking Sam by the shoulder. "Honey?" he tried shaking her a little harder but still got no answer. He knelt down by her side and tried again. "Dad? How long has she been sleeping?" he moved her head now, cradling it between his hands. She seemed clearly unconscious, not asleep. He immediately meant to heal her, without even taking a look around, but it didn't help.

"Little less than an hour. Your brother and she arrived not long ago. Is she okay?" asked Leo jumping to his feet, ready to call on someone.

"I don't think so" Wyatt started slapping her gently, still calling out her name.

"Could we get some help here?" Leo asked the nurse at the desk, after seeing how Wyatt had already tried his healing touch on her.

"I'll call OB!" said the nurse picking up the phone as she saw Sam being carried in Wyatt's arms now.

"Don't bother. What floor is it?"

"Two floors down" Wyatt carried his wife to the elevators. Leo followed suit, pushing the buttons the moment they reached them. None of them were available. After a moment or two, Wyatt gave his father a meaningful look.

"Go" Leo said fully aware Wyatt meant to just orb down to get her there faster. Without a second glance, Wyatt orbed down by the elevators two stories below. The nurse at the desk was on the phone looking down; there was no one in the waiting room; there was, however, a female doctor signing off her charts on the desk, who clearly saw him orb down.

"What's wrong with her?" the doctor asked him looking around herself; to his surprise, without further questions about what she had just witnessed.

"Umh… not sure… can't seem to wake her up" he explained anxiously.

"Follow me" said the doctor walking down the corridor searching for an empty ER exam room. "In here. Put her on the table" Wyatt did as instructed; his heart pounding against his ribcage having had one too many strong emotions for the day. He gulped and started hyperventilating. "A little help here!" the doctor said sticking her head out the door. A nurse came running from a nearby room. "Get that fetal monitor going!" the nurse started to connect a monitor for the baby and another one for Sam's vitals, while the doctor examined her. "OK. Pupils are sluggish but active. What's her name?"

"Sam, we call her Sam" said Wyatt still holding her hand.

"OK. Sam? Can you hear me?" the doctor raised her voice. Sam mumbled. "Do you know where you are?" she asked louder and some more gibberish came out her mouth. "Alright. Her pressure is too high" the doctor said after glancing at the monitor to her right. "We gotta force it down fast! Prepare a dose of Nitro!" she instructed the nurse as she pressed on Sam's clavicle. She raised her arm ever so slightly in an attempt to meet the doctor's touch. "OK. That's good, that's good. Has she got any history of preeclampsia?"

"I don't know… we haven't been able to keep up with the prenatal visits" said Wyatt running his hands through his hair.

"Alright" she gave Sam the medication through the recently put in IV, which the nurse had done practically in seconds. "The baby's heart rate is a little lower than I would like, so…hold her down!" said the doctor as Sam started seizing. "Let's give the nitro a minute" said the doctor as the pressure went down on the monitor. The seizures stopped after agonizing moments as the meds started to kick in. Wyatt had helped holding her down and now went to kiss her forehead, trembling hand, placing his head against hers, begging her to be strong. "OK. We're getting somewhere now" the doctor said pleased. "The nurse will get her ready to move her to an observation room. Can I talk to you?" Wyatt kissed Sam again and followed her out of the room.

"What's happening to her?"

"Has she had any headaches? Nosebleeds? Chest pain?"

"No… we normally handle her diabetes just fine. Other than that, she's been fine. Is… is this what this is?" he asked frightened. If it was her diabetes acting up, he wouldn't be able to do anything about it at all.

"She's a diabetic?" The doctor confirmed ignoring his question. Wyatt nodded as the doctor wrote it down on the chart. "OK. Diabetes can damage the arteries and cause high blood pressure, but if her levels are usually under control, it may well be something else. We'll need to keep her under observation until we figure out what exactly caused the pressure imbalance. Does she suffer from hypertension as well?"

"No. None of that"

"Has she been under stress lately?" the doctor asked next. Wyatt had no idea exactly how to answer that one. His first response would have been yes for sure, but explaining the reasons would be a much harder task. "OK… in her particular situation, prenatal appointments are of the upmost importance" the doctor said after staring at his awkward expression. "If she has been dealing with high pressure… it could have been detected way before it became an emergency. Now, besides her pressure which we got under control for now, she's quite unresponsive, which makes me feel there's something else. I wanna run a few tests, if that's ok" Wyatt nodded. "I'll do some bloodwork on her and maybe a CAT scan, so we can better understand what's going on. You can wait in the waiting room while we get her ready to move."

Wyatt walked to the chairs by the elevators in a kind of trance. This day was already too much to take. What else was coming? If he only knew …

"Wyatt...?" Chris came out of the elevator in a hurry looking for him. "What happened? Dad told me you were down here. He sent me to check up on you guys"

"Sam's pressure skyrocketed… they got the seizures under control but…"

"Seizures? Are you serious?" Chris couldn't make out what had happened. She had been fine when he went down to the ER. Shocked, heart aching, but breathing fine and very much conscious. "She seemed fine when we got back"

"Back from where exactly?" asked Wyatt. Chris realized, a second too late, he had said something he had agreed to discuss later for everybody's sake. He didn't think it was a wise choice to burden any of them with anything else at the moment. "Answer me!" he demanded. Chris sighed, aware his brother wouldn't take no for an answer.

"OK… after everybody arrived at the manor, we went to get something from your house" he gulped, wondering even now how much information to share at this critical moment, but then again… where to stop? "When we were preparing to orb here… your future self orbed in, thinking it had been Sam the one that got hurt. Demons were boasting about it…" he explained to his brother's confusion. "When we explained it had been mom, he set off to kill Elak" Wyatt tried not to imagine what might have happened next.

"She followed him?" Chris nodded.

"We both did and…" Chris meant to stop. He never meant to be the one to tell him what happened, let alone now…

"Chris…" Wyatt pleaded his brother. He had no strength left to gather, he knew that much, but he needed to know what had put Sam where she was now.

"Is she…" Wyatt was looking straight up at his brother now. He swallowed hard before finding his own voice to rather unwillingly ask. "Did Sam…?" Wyatt meant to ask if she had seen Elak die, but the answer was quite worse.

"When we went down there, she had no idea she would be the one to…" Wyatt staggered, feeling the air coming in less and less.

"She was the one who…" Chris nodded miserably; his eyes fixated on his big brother. Now Wyatt understood what had pushed Sam's health over the edge. He stared into nothingness, barely even taking another breath. Chris could only imagine how he must have felt and wished there was something he could have done to help ease his pain. Anything. "I should have been there"

"How could you? You were saving mom" Wyatt felt anger tears running down his face now. He pulled at his own hair as he dropped onto the row chairs.

"Still… I should have never left her alone, past or future" Wyatt added referring to his Future self.

"He's… he's gone too" said Chris hating himself for having to be the bearer of such awful news. "Elak killed him"
