Hanna rivers stood in front of the mirror giving herself one final look over her outfit. "Caleb? Does my stomach look bigger yet? I mean I know I'm only 3 months, but I just want to know if I'm just blind and everyone can see my belly getting bigger or I'm just overreacting?"

Caleb laid in his bed with a smile "Hanna your tummy hasn't got bigger yet." He chuckled before getting up and walking behind his wife of 4 years.

He wrapped a hand around her waist, pulling her close and he rubbed her slightly bulging belly.

"Don't worry, you look beautiful." He said burying his face in her neck.

Hanna smiled and took a a moment to enjoy his presence around him.

"You won't be saying that when my stomach is the size of a exercise ball." She joked.

Caleb rolled his eyes "I can't wait for your stomach to be that size so I can kiss and rub more of your tummy." He planted an affectionate kiss on the nape of her neck.

Hanna couldn't control the smile that bloomed on her face. However she didn't reply.

Hanna just sighed admiringly looking at their reflection "Caleb you are going to be a great dad. I can't wait to see you hold him."

"Or her." He said kissing her cheek.

Hanna turned to him with a smile so big her dimples were showing "I'm excited for both! like I'll be able to dress her up and then with him I can show him all the-"

Caleb looked at her concerned when she suddenly stopped talking and saw her facial expression.

"Are you okay?" He asked quickly scanning over her to make sure everything looked okay.

Hanna seemed to regain her composure for a second before she looked sick and ran to the bathroom. Caleb followed closely behind her and held her hair back as she retched over the toilet.

He rubbed her back saying soothing words until she was finished.

She staggered slightly standing up.

"Are you sure you want to work today? You can always stay home with me and-" Caleb started worried about Hanna.

"It's fine, trust me. It's just morning sickness, Caleb. It's not like My water is going to break." Hanna joked rolling her eyes before going to grab her bag and head towards the door.

Caleb however didn't find her joke funny.

"Besides we're going to the cabin today. And my day off is tomorrow so I can't stay home." Hanna added.

"Do you want me to take you to work today?" He asked rushing to her side.

"No Caleb, I can do it myself." She said dismissively grabbing the keys.

"Are you sure? What if you-"

"Caleb! We talked about this, I'm okay. No smothering or doing the over-worrying thing, okay?" Hanna said with her arms folded in slight annoyance.

Caleb sighed. She was right. He was doing it again.

"I-im sorry I just want to make sure you are okay. I don't want anything to happen to you or the baby." He explained.

Hanna smiled "it's okay, I get it. Everything will be fine, okay?"

Caleb smiled back reassured by Hanna's words

"Okay." He said kissing her forehead.

"I love you and the baby and I will be back and safe," Hanna said giving him a chaste kiss on his lips.

Fully calmed Caleb opened the door for Hanna "I love you too and I'll make you're favorite. Chinese food."

"I'll be anxiously awaiting that dinner." She smiled before heading out.

Caleb smirked before he realized something "Wait Hanna! Make sure you get to the cabin before 9. Remember they're shutting off the power for the city to fix the power lines tonight." he called out.

"Okay!" She said getting in the car.

Caleb closed the door locking it behind him and headed to the island.

He went upstairs and walked into a room that was next to the bedroom.

He walked in, looking at the baby nursery Hanna and him decorated together.

He smiled looking at all the baby clothes and the baby toys.

He always wanted to be a father, even though he knew he couldn't be the perfect dad like he wants to be. He knows he'd be a better dad than the foster dads he's dealt with in the foster homes he was in and out of.

He'll be the father he craved when he was younger.

His phone started ringing in the other room snapping him out of his thoughts. He quickly jogged to his phone worried it was Hanna with an emergency.

He saw that it was Toby and let out a sigh of relief.

"Hello." He answered.

"Hey man. Come meet me at the brew I got something to tell you." Toby informed him.

"Right now?" He asked.

"Yeah. This is my only break today unfortunately, I'll see you here." He replied before hanging up.

Caleb rolled his eyes.

——————————

Caleb arrived at the brew and saw his long-time friend Toby Cavanaugh sitting on one the of the sofas.

He couldn't help but notice he was in his police uniform.

"Hey man," Caleb said sitting across from Toby.

"Hey soon to be daddy. How's the baby coming along." He smiled drinking his coffee.

"Great just waiting to see the gender," Caleb replied. Every time the baby was mentioned he couldn't help but smile.

"Let me know so I can make sure I buy the right clothes this time." He chuckled.

Emily and Alison had a baby 2 years ago and he accidentally got the wrong clothes.

Caleb chuckled "will do. How are you and Spencer."

"Great we're going to London so we can see Melissa next week," Toby replied.

Caleb knew how difficult Spencer's sister could be. "Good luck." That was all Caleb said.

Toby and Him shared a laugh before getting into more small talk.

After a little, he looked at the time and realized he'd need to leave soon.

Toby's recently gleeful expression was now serious "Okay well I asked you to come here for a reason. There's been break-ins in areas around your neighborhoods."

"Yeah, the robbers that broke in a few houses a couple of miles away?" Caleb asked.

" Yeah, they're targeting the suburban areas. We believe they'll be going in the west, which is nowhere near you guys but you never know. So I'm just saying you need to be careful. And if you need anything call me. This duo is extremely dangerous. They're known for rape, murder, torture, and theft." Toby advised and warned.

Caleb nodded "well I can get a gun, but I'm not registered. If anything happens will I be-"

"Don't worry about it. do whatever you need to protect you and Hanna. I'm letting you know this cause we have no clue who these people are or any leads and I want you two to be aware and on alert."

"Thank you, it's good anyways. Hanna and I are supposed to go to the cabins today. So we won't be home," Caleb said thinking about calling one of his old friends for a favor.

Toby's watch alarm went off signaling he had to go to.

"Well I gotta go and patrol, but remember what I said don't hesitate to call." He said standing up leaving the money for his coffee.

Caleb nodded already grabbing his phone. He dialed the number and held the phone to his ear.

He got up and walked for the exit but ended up bumping into someone.

"Sorry." The guy said brushing off his shirt. Caleb thought the guy looked familiar. He had dark cocoa skin and dark brown eyes. Caleb just nodded dismissing him, he had more important things to do.

"Hello?" The guy on the phone answered getting into his car.

"Hey, this is Caleb. I need a favor..."

——————————————

After Caleb went to see his friend and got a gun from him, he went to the cabin. Looking at his watch he saw that he should start on dinner soon. It was already 7:30 pm. He went upstairs and put the gun in the bedroom on the top of the closet.

Later on, Caleb had the food prepared and Hanna came to the house an hour later.

She sat on the couch and groaned "today was the longest day ever. I can't wait to be in my bed."

Caleb smirked, "well the day is almost over, help me with the candles and I'll start making plates."

He helped her up and they put out the candles around the cabin lighting them.

"These should last all night. Plus there's extra in the closet." Caleb said walking to the kitchen to start making plates.

Hanna followed before realizing that she was still in her work clothes.

"I'm going to change okay?"

Caleb nodded serving the plates.

Before Hanna could walk away the power went out.

"Dammit already?" Hanna sighed before patting down herself looking for something.

"Yup. The electricians waisted no time." Caleb said putting the plates on the table.

"I think I left my phone in the car," Hanna said realizing she didn't have it.

"I'll go grab it, you go change. the candles are lit," Caleb said.

Hanna bit her lip at Caleb trying to hide her smile.

Caleb saw and smirked, "keep looking at me like that and your gonna have twins."

Hanna blushed "you ass!" She laughed.

Caleb laughed too and headed towards the door grabbing the keys of the couch where Hanna previously was.

He opened the door and left without closing it.

It was just to the driveway and she was right there.

He opened the car door and saw it sitting on the dashboard. He tried to turn it on only for it to be dead.

Typical Hanna. He thought chuckling.

Picking it up he headed to the door to only see it closed.

Shrugging thinking that the wind closed the door he tried to open it and it wouldn't budge. Did he really just lock himself outside.

Backing up to try to call up to Hanna he saw the living room windows curtain move to reveal someone in a black hoodie with an all-white mask with blood spatters on it. The masked person held up a knife with blood on it waving a it back and forth then pointing upstairs. After that, the curtain closed.

"Hanna!" Caleb screamed. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

He ran to the back door, the balcony door, the windows, and even the side door for it all to be locked.

He couldn't leave Hanna here and he sure wasn't going to stay out here.

Hanna bit her lip at Caleb trying to hide her smile.

Caleb saw and smirked, "keep looking at me like that and your gonna have twins."

Hanna blushed "you ass!" She laughed.

She walked to the staircase. She heard him laughing and couldn't help but roll her eyes.

Going upstairs, she heard the front door open as she went into the bedroom. Changing out of her tight blouse she put on a black T-shirt and continued changing out of the tight pencil skirt. She put on her black, comfy yoga pants that one of her best friend's, Emily gave to her.

Hearing the front door close she was going to go downstairs but she was a little cold. She went in her drawer and got her socks with the rubber grips on them.

Caleb got them for her cause Hanna was super clumsy and he didn't want her to fall while pregnant.

Putting on the socks she heard footsteps coming up the stairs.

Smiling thinking it was Caleb she headed towards the door when she heard something that made her heart stop "Hanna!" She heard Caleb yell from outside.

Hanna silently gasped as she heard the footsteps get closer to the bedroom door.

She quickly looked at the places she could hide. The closet? under the bed? Under the desk?

Hanna swiftly figured the best place to hide was under the bed since she was wearing all black and it was completely dark except for the dim lit candle.

She silently blew out the candle and hid under the bed trying to control yet make her breathing silent.

The footsteps arrived at the room and stood there. She saw the person standing in the doorway and she saw a knife in their hand.

Hanna put a hand over her mouth. Caleb was outside and she was inside. There was an intruder in the room.

Then she heard another pair of jogging footsteps. She prayed that it was Caleb only for the footsteps to stop.

"He's outside, you find the bitch and the demon child?" A deep man's voice asked.

"Why did you leave him out of your sight? What if he leaves?" The other masculine voice asked.

"He's not leaving her. I saw the way he's been running around the cabin to get back inside. Right now let's focus on the bitch and I'll check out for him in a little."

" well I haven't found her yet, check the closet I'm gonna check the next room over." The guy said before walking off leaving the second guy to walk in the room.

Hanna felt her heart speed up. She felt like her heart was going to explode.

The man opened the closet looking through it thoroughly. She was glad she didn't hide in there.

"Hey, Hilly, you found her?" The other guy called.

"Nope, not yet. She's smart enough not to hide in the closet." The man sniffed.

"Come here I got an idea."

The mad sighed walking out the room.

She was sure he was gone before silently going in the closet he was just looking in.

She figured they wouldn't look through the closet at least for a while.

she heard a banging from the front door.

Since Caleb was outside she needed to figure a way to get out where he was or to find Caleb's phone or something.

Feeling around the closet she felt for anything that felt like she could use as an effective weapon all she felt was the big glass candles Caleb had bought.

She was going to reach for the top of the closet when she heard footsteps walk into the room. "Come out Hanna!" The person yelled walking around the room.

The man scanned the room before leaving out the room and went downstairs "come out now!" The guy who's she's assumed to be hilly said.

"Yeah come out, if you don't I'm going to destroying these precious electronics." The other guy called out.

She quietly clutched the candle in her hands trying to figure out a plan.
