Prologue

Dark, darker, yet darker.

The darkness keeps growing, the shadows cutting deeper, photon readings negative, this experiment seems very.. very.. in-

Alright that's enough with the edgy Undertale reference, but I'm not kidding it's do goddamn dark in here! I can't even see my own body in front of me. Wait, speaking of body.. I can't even feel anything.

Wait a fucking minute.

I try to move the body I thought I had, trying to curl my fingers that I soon find out aren't there, open my eyes that.. aren't there. It seems I've quickly found out that I'm not seeing darkness, I just don't have eyes! or ears.. or even really anything it seems to be. All I'm currently left to within this void are just my thoughts to remember what happened before I was put into this void, did I die? Did I have what I assume to be my soul sucked out through magical means? Shit now I'm panicking, calm down calm down! Okay let's think back through the day, what happened..

Okay, I remember sitting in class for Classical Literature, totally interesting class right? Oh who am I kidding the teacher was not good at all when it came to getting the class' attention at all, but I digress. I remember listening to her go off on.. whatever she was, I can admit I wasn't the best student and didn't entirely listen to what she was talking about, I'm sure it was important though. I felt as if my entire being was being crushed like an insect when trying to remember a simple name, however I'm not able to pass out due to lacking a body, what bullshit is that? I can feel pain despite not even having a body?! Fuck you god! You know what, not even going to go back and question it since I would rather not feel that again. Anyways going back to it I remember a crack of light appearing in the ceiling above before a blindingly bright light and then.. nothing, huh that's a bit anti climactic, I expected something like feeling by body be burnt or whatever but that's it? I mean at least I didn't get bodied by Truck-sama, I'm above such cliches after all.

Well here we are again, stuck in this void without anything to really think about, not going to risk feeling that agony once again, who knows what the hell will happen to me this time? I've completely lost track of how long I've been in this dark place at this point.

Minutes?

Hours?

Days?

Months?

...Years?

At this point I just want to accept it and move on to the afterlife, but I can't even have that solace since I'm STILL. FUCKING. HERE!

Alright alright, calm down me calm down.. getting mad at literally nothing won't fix anything, just breathe in- wait I can't breathe.

Goddamnit!

I clench my hands in frustration, why does this have to happen to me?! I was good! I think at least.. what did I do wrong to deserve being put in this purgatory- Wait, hands? I clench them again, feeling pressure in the area that my hands should be at least, but not fully feeling them. What an odd feeling, does this mean that I'm beginning to get a body back? WOOOOOOOH! Finally man! I wonder what I'll be reincarnated into? Maybe another human? Definitely a humanoid creature- Oooooh wait maybe this'll be an isekai! Will I be reincarnated as a hero destined to fight a demon king? Waitwait no maybe it'll be like a Grimdark fantasy world, oh god please don't let me be put in Dark Souls, I'd rather go back into the void, please!

Welp, I'm bored again, after discovering I was getting hands I never really noticed much else besides that honestly, I can assume I'm being developed inside my mothers womb, but I really don't have the patience to just do nothing all day, birth me already! Wait, no don't actually, I need to be fully developed first before getting out of here, don't release me prematurely damn it!

Now I'm back in the darkness for a bit longer, Jeez I'm just tired at this point, is there nothing else I can do to pass the time? Ah well at least this strange warmth that appeared a couple minutes ago is keeping me company, it's like being covered in a heavy blanket. Warm.. warm, and with warmth I begin to see light.. beneath me? Hold on hold on, am I being born finally?! Excitement takes me over, I wonder what I'm going to be reborn as, ooooooooooh I'm hyped.

The light gets brighter and larger until it covers all my vision in blinding light, reflexively closing my eyes- I have eyes! Ahem, closing my eyes I feel myself sliding against a course cold floor, what the hell, was I birthed in a cave? Cracking my eyes open with surprising difficulty, I prove myself right by seeing that indeed I am currently in a cave. What the hell? Mother couldn't you choose a better place to do this?

I try to look to the one that should be my mother, but I am pressed into soft fur before I can properly even turn my head, wait fur? Are my parents hunters or something? I finally look up at my mother and then feel my entire being freeze for a moment. This is a monkey, my mother's a fucking MONKEY! Then as my eyes dart around quicker than a child's eyes should, it stung like a bitch by the way, I see that there are other monkeys from what I can assume to be in the same group as me and her. The weirdest thing though is that the species isn't anything that I've ever seen before, like a really weird mix of multiple species. That's besides the point though, What the fuck god?! Couldn't you have given me a better body or something like a human?! Ah whatever, even if I'm salty I can at least do some stuff with my opposable thumbs-
