A/N: Alright here goes. I'm noonespecial, and here is my first attempt at writing a fanfiction. I like RWBY a lot and watching the show gave me a whole bunch of ideas for stories and what-ifs, so I had to do something about it.
To anyone who happens to come across this story, please review honestly, I could use some criticism and feedback.
Interested in some other ideas i have and stories i'll be trying to write? Check out the author's notes at the end of this chapter. Hope you guys enjoy! And without further adooooooo...

"Do you believe in destiny?"
...
"Yes."
"DESTINY THIS!"
Cinder Fall woke with a start and immediately groaned in pain. Her whole body felt like it had been blowtorched, and yet she was the one with a scorching Semblance in addition to control over elemental magic! She tried to open her eyes, to find out that she could only see out of her right. Had it been melted shut? Nothing was making any sense.
Taking in her surroundings, Cinder had landed somewhere in the Emerald Forest, surrounded by broken stone, crumpled metal, and blackened grass. She hadn't been unconscious for long, if the fact that the Shattered Moon was still high in the sky and the heat of the rubble was anything to go by.
Attempting to stand, Cinder slowly sat up and propped herself up with her arms, only to nearly scream as a sudden pain shot down her left arm. Using her limited vision, she looked down to see that her arm was horribly tattered and bloody. Upon closer inspection, it even seemed to have partially turned to stone by some means. Breathing raggedly, she attempted to recall the events prior to her waking on the ruined forest floor.
Pyrrha Nikos sat on the ground defeated, her aura broken and ankle ruined. Cinder smiled in triumph and summoned her glass bow, nocking an arrow and preparing to deliver the final blow. Before she could fire, she could have sworn she heard what sounded like a young girl screaming the Spartan Warrior's name, before a blinding white light enveloped her surroundings. Cinder's world exploded in pain as the light burned at her body. Vaguely hearing another voice, this time what sounded like an older boy, Cinder was launched off the tower as she was struck by...
"A locker?!" Cinder growled in disbelief as she stood up without using her injured arm. Scanning the rubble, she spotted the ruined and dented frame of one of the rocket-propelled lockers that she would see often upon her infiltration of Ozpin's prestigious academy. "The boy!" Cinder thought furiously as she struck the ground with enough force to cause some cracks to form. That Arc boy, the Invincible Girl's partner, that was one of the voices she had heard! He was the reason she had been thrown off the tower and had been kept from her goal!
Cinder glared past the tall cliffs, looking up at what remained of Beacon Academy. The screams of civilians and the roars of the Wyvern could be heard, but it hardly mattered to Cinder at the moment, she had ultimately failed. The Nikos girl was still alive, holding the other piece of the Fall Maiden's power within her. And that light, that horrible white light, had reduced her to a... a quivering coward! As long as those warriors remained alive, Cinder would never achieve the power she seeked, she would forever be a failure in Salem's eyes.
She shivered in fear. Her dark mistress would never allow her to live after such a spectacular failure. As the weight of her situation began to settle in, Cinder began to crack under the pressure. She had to get away, but she could not possibly return to the Evernight Castle. Looking at her ruined arm, she steeled her self and called upon her Maiden powers. Taking in a sharp breath, Cinder's remaining eye seemed to glow with a burning flame as she shot a powerful, compressed blast of fire towards the useless limb.
Screaming in pain, the her mangled arm fell to the ground while at the same time, she used her semblance at the shoulder where her arm once was. Carefully warping the black glass she had created, Cinder forged a makeshift arm as a replacement. Leaning against a large tree, she panted heavily as she let the pain slowly fade away. Once she did, she gazed upon her work with a smile on her face. Testing the joints and flexing her new fingers, she once again called upon her semblance, reshaping her fingers into claws, then melting her arm into the form of a long, deadly looking blade, then back to the shape of a regular arm. Perhaps the loss of one limb was not as bad as she initially thought it was. (A certain blond brawler sneezed in the far distance.)
Chuckling evilly to herself, Cinder began to walk off into the depths of the Emerald Forest, but not before tearing off her ankle bracelet, which was decorated with the Emblem of Salem, and threw it far into the overgrowth. Any Grimm that tried to take advantage the seemingly battered and weak woman, whether it was a Beowolf or an Ursa, was incinerated or sliced to ribbons before they could get close. Briefly thinking of Emerald and Mercury, Cinder pushed them out of her thoughts, knowing they could handle themselves; she wouldn't need them anymore for the scheme she was beginning to form in her mind. Cinder had toiled under Salem and worked to further her plans for years, and yet doing so her brought nothing but pain and crushing defeat. Flexing her new glass arm, Cinder smiled as she disappeared into the night.
From now on, she would obey no one, she was taking matters into her own mismatched hands. She wanted untold power and the ability to crush all those who opposed her under her heels? She would do it herself.
One Year Later...
Jaune Arc narrowly dodged a thrown Akoúo̱ before holding up his own shield to block gunfire from Miló. Shielding his body as he charged forward, Jaune prepared to swing Crocea Mors in a powerful arc before being swiftly knocked off his feet and landing on the training room floor. A gloved hand offered to help the Hunter-in-Training stand; he smiled and accepted, pulling himself to his feet.
"You're improving quickly, Jaune." Pyrrha complimented, giving Jaune a warm smile and tossing him a bottle of water.
Jaune took a long drink and exhaled contently, the cool water refreshing him after the intense sparring they had done together. Removing his armor and hoodie, he began to towel off, not noticing the Spartan blush and avert her eyes. It seems the blond knight had not gotten any less dense over time.
"Hey, it's all thanks to you, Pyrr. Without your help, I would've been out of here a long, long time ago."
Pyrrha tried to laugh light-heartedly. "Y-you weren't that terrible you know."
Jaune narrowed his eyes in response. "Forged transcripts? Could barely take down an Ursa alone? Any of that ring a bell?"
He received a light shoulder punch from the red-headed warrior. "Oh, be quiet you."
The partners laughed as they walked out the doors of Haven Academy and towards the team dorms. After the attack on Vale, the destruction of Beacon, and the subsequent disappearance of Ozpin, remaining students and staff alike had to be relocated to their respective academies, even across different continents. Luckily for Team RWBY and JNPR, Haven, Mistral's own prestigious Hunter Academy, had enough openings to fit quite a few of the teams from Beacon so that lessons could be swiftly taken up again. Repairs to the Kingdom of Vale and Beacon Academy would be tedious, and the borders there had to be shut down for as long as it would take to get everything back into semi-working order. Fortunately, everyone was able to quickly adapt and besides attending class on a completely different continent, it was as if they never left.
Opening the door to their dorm, Jaune stood aside to let Pyrrha in before entering himself. "Hey Jaune-Jaune!" A certain bubbly huntress greeted energetically as she hummed along to whatever song was playing through her headphones. Jaune waved back to Nora before setting down his armor and weapon next to his bed. As he sat, Nora's childhood friend Lie Ren walked out of the kitchen, bringing two large cups filled with a sickeningly green liquid.
"As a member of team JNPR, it is my duty to ensure that we are running at peak performance and at optimum health. I have prepared a delicious blend to replenish the nutrients you have lost during training." Ren proudly stated as he offered the cups to Jaune and Pyrrha.
"It looks... healthy?" Pyrrha peered into the swampy depths of her cup with a worried look.
"I'm sure it tastes great!" Jaune eagerly took a large gulp and promptly collapsed, his face as green as the drink itself. The other members of Team JNPR could not help but stare at their fearless leader as he groaned on the floor.
"W-wow," Jauned wheezed. "This stuff is so good, I need to save it for later so I can s-savor it."
Pyrrha looked at her drink again as if there was a miniature Professor Goodwitch on the inside staring into her very soul. "J-Jaune has a point! In fact, I will take this to Team RWBY to share with them the wonders of nutrition. (A certain huntress could be heard whining in dismay, something about how she drinks milk to stay healthy.) Pyrrha quickly left the room, but not without giving a quiet "I'm sorry!" to Jaune as she passed by. Jaune gave a thumbs-up in response and got up to go to the bathroom to hold himself to his Vomit Boy nickname. Ren shrugged and let it go, mumbling something about not using the right blend. Nora tried to tune out Jaune's pain as best as she could, thinking about sloths and how she could utilize them to break more opponents legs.
Besides the sounds of one Jaune Arc rejecting the horrible poison he had invited into his body, the night was relatively peaceful. All was well at Haven Academy.
Somewhere in Anima, a battered and bruised bandit crawled outside the walls of the Branwen Tribe camp, his legs broken and mangled beyond repair. (Nora would be proud.) Thinking he had found a safe spot, he begin to send a transmission from his scroll before both he and his device were impaled by a spindly black blade. Grasping at the wound in a panic before collapsing and succumbing to his wounds, the last henchman of the Branwen Tribe perished. Cinder Fall smiled and retracted her glass arm, returning it to its normal form. She would need to leave immediately, someone was sure to have either heard or seen the commotion, and if not, someone will have eventually detected the signal that had been sent out moments ago. A shame, but Cinder had gotten what she had come for. Walking away from the burning ruins of the camp, Cinder dragged along the battered, but living form of one Raven Branwen, the current Spring Maiden.
"So this is where you've been hiding all this time," Cinder sneered. "I regret such a waste of pawns, but hiding the powers of a Maiden from me? Clearly you were a fool if you thought you could keep from me what is rightfully mine without any consequences, maybe even arrogant."
"Screw... you."
"That is not within my interests at the moment."
Raven refused to take the bait. "Whatever you have planned is going to fail, you go against the wishes of Salem, embark on a childish quest for revenge against a bunch of children, and have turned yourself into a monster for power."
Cinder laughed at that. "Me? A monster? You let your subordinates act as decoys and take the fall for you, just so that you could cover your own ass! And I am the monster?" Cinder heated her glass arm, melting it over Raven's shoulder, making her seeth in pain. "What a waste of power. I will use it in ways that you cannot even begin to fathom." Raven's glare weakened before passing out from her burns.
Reaching her extraction point outside the camp, Cinder boarded her Bullhead, making sure to bind the unconscious maiden with a mass of glass from her arm. As she flew into the Mistralian skies, Cinder smiled with a wickedness only a criminal bent on world domination could smile. She was finally ready to execute her plan. The trap has been set, and Cinder looked forward to wreaking more havoc than what her mistress could ever have even dreamed of.
"All teams please report to the amphitheater, new mission assignments begin today."
"WOOOHOOOOOOOOO!" An excited Ruby Rose shouted as she sped around the team RWBY dorm using her semblance.
"Ruby! You are getting rose petals everywhere! A proper huntress, and a leader at that, must ensure that her living quarters are tidy and organized! This, is the exact opposite!" Weiss Schnee complained. Ruby giggled sheepishly and sped away, returning with a broom and dustpan.
"Awww don't be so hard on her Weiss-cream," Yang cheerily interjected. "Besides, as her older sister I make plenty sure that she tidies around the house." Ruby rolled her eyes as she recalled the numerous times that Yang would sit by as she got the chores done alone.
"I would know, Weiss. Believe me."
Blake looked up from her book momentarily and sighed at the commotion, already having gotten ready for the day long ago.
"And Blake! You have plenty of time to read that... that filth later!" Weiss turned her attention on the quiet bookworm of the team.
Blakes bow twitched and narrowed her eyes before shutting her book. "It's not filth, it's adult literature and it is art."
Weiss scoffed and grabbed her gear before heading out the door, followed by a reddish blur which flew into the room across the hall. Moments later Team JNPR came out of their room, following Ruby to the amphitheater.
"ONWARDS FELLOW TEAMMATES!" Nora held Magnhild high in the air as they ran down the hall.
"It's just like Beacon isn't it?" Blake said to Yang with a small smile, being the only two to still be in the dorm.
"Yep," Yang said before glancing down at her robotic arm with a frown, recalling the memories of the Fall and... Adam. "Well, almost."
Blake held Yang's hand in understanding. "Everyone has been through so much to make it through this point. I refuse to let the enemy take any more than they did that day."
"Yeah, you're right. I guess we'll be starting off this year with a Yang?" Yang smirked.
"That, was lame."
"Hey! I work hard on these ya know." Yang faked a hurt look.
Blake cracked a small smile and rolled hey eyes before the partners left the dorm, laughing and talking along the way.
Jaune and Ruby made their way to the Mission Selection Boards, scrolling to find one that their teams could work on together.
Jaune narrowed his eyes in thought. "Let's seeeee, beowolves found outside of hunting grounds?"
Ruby shook her head. "Mmmm, nope. CRDL can get that one."
"Supply runs?"
"Boooooringgg."
"Pizza delivery?"
"...what?"
"Nevermind, uhhh, how about a missing persons case?"
"Missing? Who's missing?"
Jaune scrolled down the list of civilians and his face begin to fall. "Oh no..."
Ruby looked on with sadness, then steeled herself. "We have to find them."
"I know, Ruby. This could take a while though, I hope they're okay."
It really was a depressing sight, so many people missing, so many families worrying about their loved ones and waiting for them to come back. Thinking about all the children was...
A hand found itself on Jaune's shoulder. He turned to see Pyhrra with a calming smile on her face. "I'm sure we can do it Jaune, we've face much bigger before."
Jaune nodded in agreement. "We have. We can handle a few Grimm."
"Actually," Ren said as he studied the map. "Grimm would strike in a specific area, their hunting grounds. I have never seen a Grimm with hunting grounds across the entirety of a continent." Upon closer inspection, Jaune saw how random and widespread the disappearances were dispersed.
"Okay that, is definitely not a Grimm pattern."
"Why don't you check the dates?" Nora said nonchalantly, munching on a large pancake. Where she had time to get that, the others would never be able to figure out.
Jaune's eyes widened as he changed the data display options. Slowly but surely, a pattern seemed to form. Though seemingly random, the times at which the disappearances had occurred and their locations moved closer and closer inwards until they stopped...
"Right here in Mistral?" Jaune said in confusion.
That couldn't be right... right?
"How could a a potential kidnapper rally all of those people and make it into one of the kingdoms without getting caught?" Weiss asked incredulously.
"Maybe it was a group effort?" Yang tried.
"White Fang?" Blake's bow twitched once again at the thought.
"No, they wouldn't have a reason to strike here, if anything they would leave some kind of sign or something. They like to send messages that way."
"So not a group, a small team? One person? This makes no damned sense!"
"It doesn't have to," Ruby interrupted. "People are still missing and they need to be saved, that's what we're here for, right?"
Weiss nodded. "Well yes but-"
"Then the longer we stay here, the more danger that they could be in! Lets get going!" Weiss tried to object, but Ruby vanished with a puff of rose petals before she could get another word in.
Some team members raised their eyebrows. Ruby could actually be pretty reasonable when she was serious.
"Well, you heard her team! Let's do this!" Jaune said.
As the teams made their way over to the Bullheads, Pyrrha couldn't help but admire how willing Jaune was to accept such a mission. He had come a long way from the tall, blond, and scraggly knight he was when they had first met."I definitely could've figured all of that out, totally!" Jaune mumbled dejectedly to Pyrrha, causing her to smile warmly. Then again, some things never change, she supposed.
"I'm sure, Jaune." She teased, earning an amused laugh from her partner and crush.
On the Bullhead
"Alright team, teams? Just... everyone! We have received a new signal coming from the lower levels of the city." Jaune announced.
"We got the message on all of our scrolls." Ren replied with slight confusion.
"Just work with me here please, I'm trying to do a pep-talk!" Jaune hissed. "Anyway we follow the signal, carefully advance, get in, save the civilians, and get out. Easy peasy. We got this!"
"YEAH!" Nora encouraged, not caring that she was the only one who had done so.
As afternoon became evening, the Bullhead touched down in lower Mistral. Everyone walked out with their weapons and gear with them, with the exception of Nora who did so with the addition of exaggeratedly 'sneaky and stealthy' movements. As they walked through the village, the people around them would stare, momentarily distracted from their business. Small children trying to steal from vendors ould point and run into hiding. Shady looking groups would glare with watchful eyes, daring the group of hunters and huntresses to make a move.
"Geez, some people need to lighten up a little." Yang muttered.
"This is a poor area, many shady things happen down here, so they have a good reason to be apprehensive with our appearance in their village." Ren reasoned.
"Huh. Makes sense. Just Xiao-Long as they don't cause trouble, I can live with it."
There were various reactions, ranging from giggling to groaning to eye-twitching. "Come on Yangggg!"
"Boooo get off the stage!" "You're insufferable."
"Alright alright, tough crowd today!" She retorted with a mischievous grin, knowing full well the effect her humor had on them.
"We're here!" Jaune announced in a hushed voice. Immediately, everyone quieted down and pulled out their weapons.
"Of course, a giant, abandoned looking building." Blake said flatly.
"Giant, abandoned looking buildings are perfect for evil lairs!" Nora replied.
"Shhhh!" Weiss shushed. Freezing the lock on the gate and shattering it with Myrtenaster, the team filed in through the door way and closed it behind them. "We can't afford mistakes. One wrong move could jeopardize everything, especially if the civilians are being held hostage."
"Good point Ice Queen. Let's move, but quietly." Jaune whispered. A vein appeared on Weiss' forehead; she silently considered freezing him solid later. After a while of walking though hallways and following the signal, the team made it to a door indicating the main room of the dilapidated warehouse.
"We'll stick together this time?" Jaune asked warily. Everyone gives their affirmations while Pyrrha gives Jaune a knowing look, nodding firmly.
"I can see multiple figures on the ground." Blake reported, peering through the cracked glass window on the door. "They appear to be bound and moving, but I don't see anyone holding them hostage." Jaune mentally pumped a fist. They had found the missing civilians and easily at that! Night vision is pretty damn useful. Jaune looked at Pyrrha and they nodded to each other; they would stick together this time. "Nora? Smash." Nora grinned and unfolded Magnhild, bashing the door to smithereens in one swing. The civilians, about 12 of them, turned towards the commotion to the best of their ability in shock.
"We're hunters from Beacon Academy! We're going to get you out of here." Jaune announced, quickly moving to undo their bindings. The other members helped out, their actions being met with some frightened protest and lots of gratitude. Finally, a mission that he had lead gone right. It was almost too good for Jaune to believe. Taking the gag out of the mouth of an elderly Faunus man with a black and white tail, he recoiled when the man suddenly gripped his shoulder with a face of panic.
"You need to get out! She's still here! T-too powerful-"
"What? Please calm down sir! Who is sh-"
Jaune was about to try to comfort the old man before he burst into flames, along with the other civilians, plunging the room into chaos and filling it with screams.
Cinder Fall looked upon the scene before her, smiling cruelly. Those people had been mere pawns in her plan, their only purpose to serve as a trap to suit her needs. As the Hunters were knocked back from the force of the explosion, the warehouse begin to burn down around them, causing roof panels to fall and glass to break. As the night sky hung above the false maiden, she walked through the flames, finding the one she had been wanting to lure all along.
"Pyrrha Nikos, the Invincible Girl. The dedication of you and your allies never cease to amuse me."
"Cinder." Pyrrha growled.
"I hope you did not take our last meeting too personally, you were a valuable source of inspiration for me. I followed in your footsteps and took destiny into my own hands. Now?" Cinder begin to rise off the ground, her eyes glowing with a multicolored flame. "I now have nearly all the power of the four maidens at my disposal. My mistress would never have allowed me to come this far. She was holding me back!" There was no time to mourn or gather bearings. Cinder raised her arms as a plethora or different elements and energies swirled around her.
"SCATTER!" Jaune shouted. Team RWBY and team JNPR leapt out of the way of a bombardment of wind, ice, fire, lightning, and others tore the ground and walls around them to pieces. "Everyone take positions around her and lay down fire. One evil lady can't focus on all of us!" Everyone begin to fire, save Jaune, who kneeled in our to give Pyrrha a boost to leap straight for Cinder. With supernatural haste, Cinder's body became a blur as she deflected every shell, bullet, and grenade with her bare hands.
"Freezerburn!" Called Ruby. Weiss quickly froze a large portion of the ground before Yang blasted the patch with Ember Celica, filling the battered battle ground with a dense fog. Grunting, Cinder summoned a gale to blow away the fog only to reveal one Nora Valkyrie flying right towards her, whooping with Magnhild ready to break some evil legs. With one hand, Cinder caught the large hammer, instantly stopping Nora's momentum before enveloping it in a blistering frost. Nora yells as the frost spreads up her arms, her aura struggling against the intense cold, before Cinder blasts her with heavily pressurized wind. Magnhild's handle snaps in half as Nora soars across the field and landing in a pile of rubble, unmoving.
"Nora!" Ren yells in dismay as he narrowly dodges a few glass spears, laying down fire with Stormflower. Cinder blocks every bullet and backhands the speeding reaper and firey brawler hard enough to knock Ruby and Yang on their backs, without even having to glance backwards. "I knew you would not be able to pass up the chance to save those people, you are simply to easy to read, Ruby Rose. I was once asked if I believed in destiny and now..."
Cinder flashes over to Pyrrha in the blink of an eye, rapidly bombarding her with swipes from her glass arm and shooting large beams of flame. She then melts her arm before reforming it around the poor girl. Pyrrha yelps as she is ensnared in the deadly appendage, then screaming as it seems to splinter and pierce into her skin. "...I'm finally fulfilling it."
"PYRRHA!" Jaune and Ruby yell in unison. Ruby's eyes begin to shine with a blinding light while Jaune charges at the madwoman, ready to deliver a punishing blow with Crocea Mors. Cinder smirks and holds out her other arm, letting out a large beam of ice which freezes Jaunes lower half into immobility and strikes Ruby in the head, knocking her out cold. "Still as weak and out of your league as you were back then. As for you..." Turning to the battered Spartan, Cinder increases her grip, causing Pyrrha to gasp as the final remaining pieces of the Fall Maiden's power drains from her. She is tossed aside, and doesn't get up.
"NOOOO!" Jaune screams in desperation before swinging his sword, finally managing to strike Cinder. It doesn't cause any visible damage, but the woman's eye's flicker and roll back into her head before she falls over, seemingly unconscious. Blake quickly binds Cinder with Gambol Shroud before Weiss summons a glyph, encasing her in a large mound of ice before collapsing in exhaustion. "No, no no no no!" Jaune runs over to Pyrrha's limp body and cradles her head. She's still alive, but just barely. "I promised that we'd stick together, that I'd be there for you! An arc never goes back on his word!" He looks around. The ruins of the warehouse a strewn across everywhere, ashes and rubble burning, villagers screaming in terror and running as Grimm begin to prowl the streets. Ren is trying to bring Nora into a sitting position, using his scroll to call for backup. Weiss is slumped on the ground against Myrtenaster while Yang carries a battered, but conscious Ruby over to the rest of the group. This wasn't supposed to happen, all those people, his team! Pyrrha...
Tears fall as Jaune's white-gold aura flares, his Semblance going into effect from the intense stress. Placing his hands over Pyrrha's stomach, his aura pours over her dwindling crimson aura as he tries to bring her back to strength. This was all wrong. "Y-you're going to be okay! Just hang in there!" Amidst the injuries, panic, and chaos, everyone save for a winded Blake failed to notice as Cinder's icy prison began to crack.
"Uh, guys?" Blakes bow flattens a bit as she backs away from the mound of ice. "I don't thin-" The ice explodes, revealing a kneeling Cinder with closed eyes. The past year has not been kind on her, her once beautiful dress guite tattered, part of her face a scarred mess. Cinder began to levitate once again, floating higher as her body began to glow a bright white. The sheer power radiating from the woman could be felt by all; it was a frightening sight. "We need to get back, now!" Ren shouted. Team RWBY and JNPR quickly retreated backwards, bringing their injured teammates with them as Cinder seemed to burst into light, instantly brightening the night and violently shaking their surroundings. As the chaos begin to die down, they opened their eyes to an astounding sight.
All the Grimm storming the village had been disintegrated, even the large Mammoths and Nevermores were nothing more than dispersing ashes. Quickly turning back to the scary floating lady, everyone's eyes widened as Cinder finally opened her eyes.
Cinder woke and took in her surroundings. She was flying above the burning ruins of her most recent battle, gazing upon the injured and exhausted Hunters and Huntresses-in-Training on the ground. She could feel their feel, their awe and apprehension; she relished the feeling, the rush of the powers and magics of all four Maidens coursing through her. It was exhilarating. This kind of power is what she had dreamt of all these years!
She looked at herself, her skin seemed to glow with a ethereal white energy, her once tattered red and gold dress a beautiful white and grey. She could feel the power infused within her entire being, pouring from her eyes in the form of elegant white flames. She was finally whole. All it had taken was kidnapping a dozen or so innocent people to lure the power to directly to her. Not even the case surrounding the power mattered to her anymore more; the ends justifies the means in her eyes.
"Gaze upon the power of something beyond what any of you could ever hope to achieve. Beyond even that of a fully realized Maiden, for I am the one destined to control the power of them all."
"This can't be right, the Maidens, all four?" Weiss said in fear. "It shouldn't be possible, it just isn't!"
"All lies to keep you from becoming something more. Something to keep you from what is rightfully yours. I am living proof that holding the power of more than one Maiden is perfectly possible, in fact, I could kill you all without moving a muscle, with a breath. I have been denied this for all my life, but the moment I freed myself, the moment I took fate into my own hands, I had already won."
Cinder didn't even turn her head as incoming bullheads holding reinforcements suddenly halted mid-flight before melting into puddles of liquid metal, he occupants nowhere to be seen. "Now, to finish what I started, to rule over a new world better than Salem ever could." The students struggle as they were lifted off the ground by an unseen force, before yelling as Cinder emitted a strange brilliant energy which struck them all.
"I could kill you all, but I have far better plans for such promising young Hunters. Jaune yelled in despair as he watched his teammates dissolved into wisps of energy, colored respectively to their auras. Jaunes aura flickered against the strange energy, his semblance trying to resist the incomprehensible attack. Cinder's brow furrowed slightly.
"Little combat skill, nothing but a massive aura and a sword with a shield to defend himself. I find you of no use to me, still as much the runt of the pack as you were a year ago." Jaune clenched his teeth, more tears coming down his face at the seeming death of his friends and hopelessness of it all.
"SHUT UP!"
She laughed. "You should know better than to speak that way to your new ruler and god. Run along now, I want you out of my sight." Jaune gasped as he felt something push into his very soul, his semblance unable to keep out the strange magic any longer.
With a blinding flash of energy, Jaune screamed as his sense of gravity and the world was torn out from under him, turning end over end as he was launched at impossible speeds through the air. Winds violently lashed at his body. He could vaguely see the world underneath him, was it... shifting? As Cinder deconstructed and warped the land with her new found abilities, Jaune passed out thinking of his friends and Pyrrha, failing to notice that his body had began to glow lightly, his Aura reacting to being infused with such a strange energy. After a long while, the blonde knights momentum slowed. Jaune Arc's consciousness finally faded as he fell back towards his planet, the now unshattered moon shining down on a new Remnant. Things would never bee the same.
Sometime later, a young woman walked out of her house, past her village and towards an odd pink lake surrounded by a colorful forest, ready to gather what she would need for her family that day. As she reached the shore she spotted something large laying in the brush. It appeared to be a young man, complete with blond hair, dented and ripped armor and clothes , with a odd sword and shield strapped to his belt. He seemed quite handsome upon close inspection, he even almost seemed to be... glowing slightly? Covered with wounds and bruises, it didn't seem like he would be waking up soon. Frowning in concern, the girl lifts his upper body as best as she can, dragging the unconscious boy back through the forest path.
Carra Melano would have some explaining to do when she got back.
That's the chapter. Phew, writing this is a lot harder than I thought it would be. To anyone reading this, please feel free to drop a review, give some feedback, thoughts, critique, whatever floats your boat. I could use some pointers because I feel like I didn't write the characters and represent their personalities well enough and I'm sure that the pacing and whatnot was pretty damn strange/rushed. If there's any errors or things that don't add up, feel free to point them out. I want to get better so you guys can enjoy whatever I may write, and I got plenty of ideas! Speaking of which, here is a few that I thought up. Feel free to vote in which one you'd like to see next first since I will probably alternate different stories in between chapters. Anyways, I have:

Feel free to give suggestions if you feel that any of those ideas need changes; I'm always open to them. I apologize if any fanfics close to these ideas exist somewhere out there, i'll try to put my own spin on it and make it as interesting as possible. I'd like to write fanfics where it diverges from the canon and includes strange/cool abilities or occurrences that wouldn't normally happen. I'm pretty excited to get started on any of these and hope you'll enjoy these as much as I will writing them. This is noonespecial signing off, till next time.
