Hi!

So, I've been working on this story for probably just under 2 months now. I've been editing it a lot and originally it was a really long one-shot but then I turned it into a short story with just a few chapters (not 100% sure how many yet XD). I've always thought that the Nektons probably had more interactions with the pirates than the show showed so this is my version of what happens when the pirates try to invade the arronax.

"Mum, are we absolutely certain that they are going to attack? They've been there, not moving, for ages! You know Hammerhead, he's not the type to wait for the right moment and actually plan his attack, he normally just jumps aboard straight away, maybe they're just there by coincidence, " Fontaine asked, sounding rather confused at the pirates actions.

The Dark Orca had appeared from nowhere just over an hour ago and the Nektons had been preparing for battle ever since: Will had made sure to lock his safe and seal off the study as best he could; Kaiko had cleaned up the bridge and checked the engines were fully functional, in case of a need for a quick getaway; Ant had been tasked with checking all the entrances were securely closed but he had mostly just darted around for a while in excitement of a confrontation with the pirates and ran around grabbing random things to help 'protect Jeffrey' and Fontaine had split her time between locking up the knights and herding her little brother back to the bridge. However, the enemy submarine had made no moves to suggest that it was even inhabited, let alone preparing to attack.

"Erm! Of course they're going to attack, they're pirates, Fontaine!" Ant scoffed at his sister.

Fontaine rolled her eyes, " I know that but I'm just saying, they normally would have attacked by now, "

"You may be right, Fontaine, maybe they aren't going to attack us, I mean, have they even noticed we're here?" Will commented, also quite puzzled at the pirates lack of movement and unplanned onslaught.

As if on cue, there was suddenly a small beep coming from one of the many alarms on the bridge and with a click of a button from Kaiko, Hammerhead was on screen.

"Hello, Nektons!" Hammerhead yelled out in his usual, boisterous tone.

"Hammerhead," Will regarded with a nod of his head.

" Now I've noticed that yer jus' a little bit too close ter me sub fer me likin' so I've decided that me 'n me crew are gonna be real generous and give you the day to get outta 'ere then we come fer yer sub if yer haven't moved it, " Hammerhead declared loudly (did this guy ever whisper? Or just use his indoor voice?).

"Dad? What are you doing?" Came another voice on the end of the line.

"Who are you talking to?" Came yet another voice, and then, "Oh, hey Fontaine!" From Finn's voice.

"Dad! What are you doing talking to them? " came Madeline's voice.

"Hi, Finn," Fontaine replied, annoyed at the pirate boy's obsession with her.

"I was just tellin' the do-gooders that they'v got a day to move their sub or we take it fer our own," Hammerhead informed his children, still half yelling.

"Wait, where is the arronax?" Finn asked, moving out of view momentarily before suddenly yelling in the background, "Oh, HI FONTAINE!" as the Nektons looked from the arronax to see the small figure of Finn, waving madly in the tiny window of the dark orca, causing Fontaine to bury her face in her hands while Ant laughed hysterically behind her.

"I think your pirate boy has missed you!" Ant mocked, still chuckling madly, while Fontaine turned a tomato shade of red.

"Move yer sub, Nektons, this is yer warnin'! Yer 'ear me?" And with that, Hammerhead was gone.

"Well, that was ... Nice, of Hammerhead?" Will said, highly sceptical of the pirates.

"What do you think, Mum? Can we trust them?" Fontaine asked.

"I don't know but it definitely is going to be safer if we get out of here, everyone, get back to what you were doing, I've just got to send in our latest water analysis results to WOA and send off the coral samples to Professor Fiction and we'll set off in about 20-30 minutes, " Kaiko replied, already having the results downloaded.

The 2 younger Nektons rushed off to get back to their lives while Will helped Kaiko package the coral safely in sterile Petri dishes.

A short while later, the analysis results were already delivered to WOA and the coral samples were safely on their way back to land via drone where Professor Fiction was waiting for them.

"Right, let's get out of here!" Kaiko muttered, mostly to herself even though Will was also with her on the bridge.

So that's the first chapter! To be honest, it's mostly an introduction to what's going to happen in the next few chapters XD. Next chapter is already written, just being edited.
