The ghost sat vigil from a respectable distance. No need doing something stupid and ending up like Sundance or Sagira. Someone had joked that it was getting dangerous if you had an "S" name. Samoi was unamused. Just another minute or two, and he'd be able to resurrect his Guardian, and they could leave.

A sound made him stop moving altogether. If he had lungs, he'd hold his breath. He scanned the area from his hiding spot, but saw nothing. "C'mon," he hissed quietly. He could sense the Light find his guardian, and rushed over, connecting with it and bringing his partner back to life.

Once the disorientation passed, Samoi nudged the Awoken. "Let's go, let's go!" The guardian moved back up the cavern toward the exit. There was an impending sense of dread filling the air. It felt like they weren't moving fast enough.

There were no longer any enemies. Everything was quiet. "I don't like this," Samoi whispered. When they exited, the guardian slid to a halt; a mass of Vex stood, taring at a black pyramid in the sky. "This is bad."

Despite the outburst, the Vex did not react to them. The sea of glowing red eyes were transfixed, watching the lazy passage of the shape. There was a loud noise in the distance, and the Pyramidian collapsed in upon itself. Likely Asher.

The sky began to darken, and Samoi and his guardian both looked up. The sound of vex gates rang around them, and the machines dropped into that space between spaces where they lived. The feeling of dread continued to rise in them as the sky became completely black. No stars or other celestial bodies could be seen.

Samoi's eye dimmed as he was cut off from the Light. The guardian cupped his hands, catching him. They were cut off from everything now, likely the only ones left on Io. There was no telling how long they would be trapped here. The best they could think to do was go back into the cave... and wait.
