Welcome to Chapter 1 of A Persona in Time!
One little thing I want to get out of the way…
Unfortunately, no. I will not be giving Hat Kid a Persona, While that would be cool, I think I'll stick with good ol' normal Hat Kid.
WARNING: SPOILERS FOR A HAT IN TIME AND PERSONA 5
Now then, Let us Start the Game!
Hat Kid let out a sigh of relief as she tossed a new Time Piece into the vault. She had just finished making a movie with the Conductor and DJ Grooves. Two rival birds that both try to make better movies than the other. DJ Grooves made Sci-Fi and Space themed movies while the Conductor made western and Detective themed movies. She could already tell that both of them were going to give her a hard time, but Hat Kid assumed it wasn't anything she couldn't handle.
New Area Unlocked!
Wait what? New Area? Hat Kid thought she had to collect more Time Pieces in order for her to move on to the next area. Hat Kid shrugged and decided to look around her spaceship and try to find the doorway to this new place.
…
Which she was actually having trouble with.
She looked all around. The Kitchen, her bedroom, everywhere! But she could not find it. However there was one place she hadn't looked yet, the secret Diary room under the giant mountain of pillows.
Sure enough, there was a new Door inside the said room. Although, this one looked a little different than the others.
The picture on the door was a picture of a mask with a white flame coming out of it's eye. It also had a top hat. Everything was red with black shading. It actually looked kinda cool.
But now wasn't the time for admiring, it was the time for Time Piece collecting!
Hat Kid took a deep breath full of Determination, and walked through the mysterious new doorway.
Hat Kid somehow found herself inside of what appeared to be the Main Hall of a Bank of some sort. It was super eerie and creepy. Not to mention kind of dark even though there was still some light. But what really freaked out Hat Kid was the strange creatures that wore masks of some sort. They seemed to be security guards.
Hat Kid quickly hid behind a desk to make sure she wasn't seen by any of them. She had to figure out a way to get past them, or else she wouldn't even get to explore this place. She then heard more footsteps and saw…
"Outta My way" Said a guy with slicked back black hair and a white tux. He had purple skin which was weird, but not that weird. He pushed through the security guards and walked to a screen. "Let's see how everyone's doing." He turned the opposite direction for Hat Kid to see a familiar shine. The purple skinned guy had a Time Piece attached to his belt. Hat Kid decided to sneak up, snatch the Time Piece from his belt and make a run for it.
Thanks to her small size she was able to get close undetected and thanks to the sprint hat, she was quick too. Hat Kid stopped and looked on the screen to see walking ATMs. This was getting weirder and weirder by the minute. She then got herself ready to snatch the Time Piece.
Only to get caught right as she was about to grab it. One of the security guards grabbed her by her cape and held her up. She tried to run away but to no avail.
"Kaneshiro, this Kid was sneaking up on you." The guard said.
"Hm?" The boss, now named Kaneshiro, turned around. And Hat Kid got a good view of his face. "The h**l? What's a kid doing in here?"
Hat Kid's heartbeat started to speed up. This guy was actually kind of intimidating. He grinned at Hat Kid.
"You know, usually the reason people come to me is because they either want or need something from me," Kaneshiro said. "It's the same for you, I can tell. So what do you want?"
Hat Kid pointed to the Time Piece attached to his belt. "This?" He said as he held the Time Piece in front of Hat Kid. "Not sure what you need it for, but I found it here. And based on it's shine, I'd say it's worth a fortune!" He then put the time piece back on his belt. "Sorry, not sorry, but you're not getting this."
Hat Kid pouted. Of course it was like this.
Hat Kid had had enough. She pulled out her umbrella and whacked the security guard that was holding her, sending it flying. Hat Kid landed on her feet and looked at her umbrella. Looks like it got an upgrade.
Kaneshiro looked in shock, then had an annoyed look on his face. "Typical." He said. He turned to his other guards. "Throw her in a cell. I don't want to deal with her anymore."
Before Hat Kid could react, she felt something heavy hit her on the back of her head causing her to Black Out.
Ren Amamiya, Ryuji Sakamoto, Ann Takamaki, Yusuke Kitagawa, Morgana, along with Makoto Nijima were all walking through the streets of Shibuya. They had an encounter with Kaneshiro who basically Blackmailed them into being his money makers. Luckily they were the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, well most of them were at least. They planned on stealing the distorted desires of the blackmailer. Morgana, the "not cat" was meowing a merry tune and talking to the group and they were talking back. But, Makoto didn't understand what Morgana was saying.
"Okay, are you guys feeling alright?" Makoto asked as they stopped walking.
"Oh that's right, it's all just meows to you, huh?" Ann said.
"She's definitely a customer as well, we should take her with us. She's not an outsider anymore." Morgana said.
Ren turned around. "Are you willing to come with us?" he asked.
"Go with you...to where?" Makoto asked, confused.
"To the heart of a Blackmailer." Ren answered as they entered the metaverse. Everyone, except Makoto of course, was all wearing their Phantom Thief attire.
"W-Where…?" Makoto said in shock.
Yusuke, being the calm one, told her his code name. "I am Fox."
"Awesome, you got here all in one piece." A voice said. Makoto looked down to see a talking Monster cat.
"MONSTER CAT!" Makoto cried. This shocked Morgana.
"This is Morgana, he's the cat that was in Ren's bag." Ann, whose code name was Panther, said. "When we come here, we're transformed, Right? She asked Morgana.
"Monster cat…" Morgana, now Mona, said with tears in his eyes.
"So you're Takamaki-san?" Makoto asked in confusion and shock. "How are- What is this? You said it was the heart of a blackmailer."
"Where Kaneshiro's twisted desires have come to life." Fox said. "It's another reality."
Makoto looked around and put the pieces together. "Of course, how he sees the world. So this is what you do, to steal his heart means to rewrite one's cognition."
"Precisely" Fox said.
"She gets it better than you." Ryuji, now Skull, said to Mona, teasing him.
"Hey! It's about the same!" Mona retorted. "But anyway, if we steal Kaneshiro's Treasure, then we change his heart and make him confess, If we do it right." Mona added at the end.
"Oh we're gonna do it right!" Skull said. Kaneshiro's the biggest target we've ever tried to take down. It's gonna be awesome! Everybody's gonna believe in us!"
"And our Just intentions will become resolute." Fox added.
"We'll finally be able to give courage to those in need." Panther said. "We can help fix everything."
"To give courage to those in need…"Makoto repeated to herself. "My father used to say the same thing."
"Your father?" Panther asked.
"Nothing, sorry." the student council president replied. She then looked up to the Giant flying saucer that was Kaneshiro's palace. "We need to get up to that thing right? Let's go. If I'm a customer, then they'll have to let me in."
The floating bank then came down and let out a staircase. Everything was going according to Plan.
Hat Kid woke up with a throbbing pain in her head. Rubbing it, she looked around and saw that she was in a cell. Why was she in a cell? Wouldn't Kaneshiro just throw her out if he didn't want her here? Speaking of, Hat Kid saw the man standing in front of her cell.
"You're probably wondering why I threw you in here instead of out there." he said in a mocking tone. "Well sweet pea, since I managed to capture you, I think I'll just keep you in here for now. I don't want to deal with you and those pesky Phantom thieves at the same time."
Phantom who now? Is this guy insane?
"I have big plans for you in the future darling." Kaneshiro said. "We'll be making BIG bucks! So sit tight." He said before walking away.
Oh no, he's just plain Greedy.
Hat Kid had to get out of here. She tried to bust down the cell door by using her different abilities but to no avail. Not even the laser badge dented it. Hat Kid was actually starting to panic. Would Kaneshiro really go this far just to make money? Hat Kid was scared she didn't know what to do. She tried to use her back up teleport badge, but it wouldn't work for some reason.
Was she really going to be stuck in this cell forever?
Hat Kid crawled to the corner and began to cry. This actually made her wanna go back to filming with the Conductor and DJ Grooves, at least they had respect for their actors. Peck, this guy made Snatcher look innocent.
What was she going to do? And who were these Phantom Thieves guys Kaneshiro was talking about?
As the Phantom thieves entered the palace, they were stopped by 2 security guards.
"Stop Right there! What business do you have here?" One of them asked.
Makoto readied herself for a fight. "Woah, easy girl!" Skull said.
"She's Kaneshiro's customer." Fox said.
Makoto looked at Ren, Now Joker. The leader nodded. "I'm here to see the Bank president."
"You may let them pass." A voice said. The guards made way for Kaneshiro himself to walk up to them. "It must be about the 3 million. If you're having trouble gathering it, I'd be happy to sign a loan."
"A loan?" Makoto asked.
"10 percent per day." Kaneshiro added.
"That would lead up to…" Panther said.
"At least 300,000." Makoto said.
"HUH?!" Panther gasped.
"Now no need to worry, I have other options," Kaneshiro said. "At least for people like you."
Kaneshiro then put a giant evil grin on his face. "You can go to one of my shops, work off that debt with that body of yours. That'd be fine. We have clients who are in special services."
"You can go to h**l!" Panther shot back.
"That's what you've been blackmailing girls for!" Makoto said.
Kaneshiro giggled. "So the student council president is beautiful and clever. Well, it's in the genes, her big sister is quite the looker too."
Makoto gasped.
"You know, the prosecutor?" Kaneshiro continued.
"How did you know that?" Makoto asked.
"Do not underestimate the scope of what I know." Kaneshiro replied.
"The Prosecutor…Her sister?" Panther questioned
Hat Kid didn't know how long she was in that cell for. It felt like hours. She wasn't prepared for something like this, for anything like this! Hat kid could come back for the Time Piece another time, she just wanted to be in the comfort of her spaceship, her pillow pile with the diving board. She huddled in the corner, with the life scared out of her.
But then, she started to hear voices. Voices that actually sounded like normal people, not other security guards. But she also heard Kaneshiro's distorted voice as well. She quieted herself down to listen.
"Don't worry, I'll make sure she's taken care of." Kaneshiro said. "We'll have plenty of fun until I get bored and call her off."
"I won't ever let you!" Makoto said.
"Then I guess you better show up tomorrow." Kaneshiro said with an evil smirk. "Just be a good girl and do as you're told."
"I would...never." Makoto said with fear in her voice.
"Don't worry, you're sure to earn 3 million in no time! Student council president is a great selling point. Just pretend to be a weak little push over and give the clients what they want." Kaneshiro said. "You should be happy, you have finally been made useful. Well you spoke to the men who want to take it. Hahahahaha!"
It would seem that Hat Kid wasn't the only one suffering from Kaneshiro. She kept listening.
"You filthy Ba***rd!" Skull said.
"You're despicable." Fox added.
And that was when Makoto finally snapped.
"I've had to listen to your wicked words, so shut your mouth, YOU DISGUSTING PIG!" Makoto shouted.
Makoto then felt pain in her head. She heard a voice:
Have you decided to tread the path of strife?
"Yes." Makoto answered. Makoto's head pain increased ten-fold
Let us proceed and make whole our contract
I am thou, thou art I
You have taken whole of your own justice
Please, never lose sight of it.
This is the day that marks your emergence
The freedom of your old self
A mask then formed on Makoto's face. She ripped it off, drawing blood.
...and that's when it happened…
Hat Kid had no idea what was going on. For some weird reason, she heard sounds of a motorcycle.
She then heard sounds of fighting. There were definitely other people here and it didn't sound like they were working for Kaneshiro.
Desperate, Hat Kid cried out. "HELP!"
Kaneshiro, annoyed that his guards failed their job, cried out. "What are you doing? Kill them now!" The guards ran towards them.
"We got company!" Panther said.
"We know how to get in, so now we need to get out!" Mona said.
"How exactly do we do that?" Panther asked.
"There's only one way out," Makoto said.
"Hey there, miss post-apocalyptic raider!" Skull teased her appearance
"Should I smack him? I'll lead the way!" Makoto said.
Right as they were about to leave they heard a voice cry out "HELP!"
"So you dare to oppose me?" Kaneshiro said as they ran out. "They better not try it."
Hat Kid knew they had run out, they didn't hear her. Just as she thought that all hope was lost, She noticed that both of the guards in front of her cell were gone and noticed the keys to her cell on the floor. She reached for them and grabbed them, Sweet freedom.
She was extra careful not to get caught and escaped Kaneshiro's palace. Her back teleporting system was back online and teleported back to her safe spaceship, still disappointed that she didn't get the time piece.
Outside of the palace, the Phantom thieves with their newly acquired member were exhausted. They talked about Makoto's Persona and everything that happened. However…
"Oh yeah, before you guys go, there is one more thing I want to talk about." Makoto said. "Right as we were about to leave I heard a voice."
"A voice?" Yusuke asked.
"I heard it too." Ren said. "It sounded like someone crying out for help."
"You don't think Kaneshiro is holding someone prisoner do you?" Morgana asked.
"Whatever it is we'll have to check that out sooner or later, but that's not the only thing." Makoto said. "I saw Kaneshiro carrying what looked like a shiny hourglass."
"Oh yeah, I saw that too!" Ryuji said. "Why do ya think he needs it?"
"It could possibly be a trophy of some sort, he must think it must be the most expensive thing in the world." Yusuke said.
"That's definitely possible." Morgana said. "But it's too soon to call. Let's investigate that next time we go to his palace."
"Right!" Everyone agreed.
Hat Kid let out a sigh of relief as she plopped in her little chair. She had completely missed her chance to get that Time Piece, but that place was not very settling. How that Kaneshiro guy did some messed up stuff to people just to keep or make more money was absolutely horrible.
He truly was sickening. The thought of Kaneshiro using Hat Kid as his personal guinea pig to do whatever he wants absolutely terrified Hat Kid. She did not want to go back there again.
However, she still needed to get that Time Piece. If Kaneshiro found out that it had time-related abilities, who knows what he would use it for? Hat decided that she needed a small break from collecting Time Pieces for a couple of days, just to calm herself down.
But mainly to muster up some courage. She had faced an actual GHOST who collects souls, and now she was scared of some overweight, Greedy, purple guy? She had to pull herself together.
With some determination, Hat Kid drifted off to sleep.
A few days later…
Hat Kid finally had some courage to go and find that time piece. As she made her way deeper and deeper inside the...uh...whatever this place was called, she encountered a gigantic door. It seemed to be the door to a vault of some kind.
There was a keypad on the front of the door. It needed some sort of password to open it. Hat Kid thought to herself. She had to think carefully about what Kaneshiro could have made of the password.
…
Peck it.
Hat Kid just pressed a bunch of random numbers, hoping that she would eventually get the code, but she still didn't have any luck.
In fact, she thought she had the worst luck when she heard voices.
"Wait a second, there's someone over there!"
Hat Kid jumped. She looked to see strange figures wearing weird clothing and strange masks.
"Is that-"
"...a child?"
"What the h**l is a kid doin' in a place like this!?"
"Don't tell me, is Kaneshiro involving children in his shenanigans!?"
"The word 'shenanigans' is a severe understatement."
Hat Kid readied her umbrella, thinking that they were hostile. A few of them sweat dropped.
"A-an umbrella?" The weird talking cat said. Then again Hat Kid did have a talking cat for a chef on her spaceship so it wasn't anything different.
"Easy there, we're not going to hurt you." Said the one with black curly hair. "Although, I am going to ask, what are you doing here?"
Hat Kid looked at them. Based on what they just said, they sounded like the people Hat Kid heard from her cell the other day, the ones that were also against Kaneshiro. She slowly put away her umbrella, pulled out a picture of a Time Piece and showed it to them.
"Hm? Wait!" the girl who was dressed like a red cat said.
"Kaneshiro had one of those attached to his belt." A guy with a fox mask said. It wasn't anything like the dwellers mask, but it still resembled a fox.
"Why do you need it?" A girl who looked like she just jumped out of an apocalypse movie said.
Hat Kid had her usual silence. She wasn't ready to share that info with these people just yet.
"You're not much of a talker, are ya kid?" Said a boy with a skull mask.
The apocalypse lady walked over to her and knelt down to her level. "Do you have a Name?"
Hat Kid thought for a few seconds. She supposed sharing her name wouldn't be too bad.
"Hat Kid." She replied.
"Hat Kid? Well it certainly suits you." She replied cheerfully. "Call me Queen."
Queen? That was a strange name. Then again 'Hat Kid' wasn't something you'd expect either.
"Nice to meet you, I am Fox." the one with the Fox mask said.
"Name's Skull."
"I'm Panther!"
"I'm Mona, and that's our leader Joker." The talking cat said.
"We're the Phantom Thieves of Hearts." Joker said.
So these guys were those Phantom Thieves that Kaneshiro was talking about. Hat Kid tipped her Hat in a greeting before turning back to the keypad.
"You need to get in there too, huh?" Panther asked.
"Luckily, that's where we're goin' too!" Skull said.
"Now let's see…" Joker said as he and Makoto were about to decipher it, but were cut off by security Guards.
"Hey! Stop right there!" one of them said.
"Huh? Oh great more shadows to deal with." Mona said.
Hat Kid was about to step up but witnessed another unsettling thing. The so-called shadows started twitching and transformed into these weird creatures.
But Hat Kid still didn't back down and readied her umbrella.
Skull noticed this. "Listen Kid, that umbrella of yours is cute and all but maybe you should leave this to-"
Before Skull could finish, Hat Kid whacked one of the Shadows into oblivion. The jaws of the Phantom thieves dropped.
"WOAH! FOR REAL?!" Skull said.
"What was that!?" Mona said.
"What on Earth!?" Fox added.
"This kid is no joke!" Panther said.
"That ain't no normal umbrella either!" Skull said.
Joker and Queen were speechless.
(Cue Last Surprise)
"Insolent little brat, you'll pay for that!" One of the other shadows said.
Hat Kid looked back at the Phantom Thieves with a 'care to join me?' face.
"Hehe, not bad Hat Kid. But let's see what you think of this! Go, Captain Kidd!" Skull yelled as he threw off his mask and out of nowhere appeared a pirate on a floating spaceship. The pirate shot lightning out of it's arm cannon."
"My turn, Goemon!" Fox said as he threw off his mask and summoned a figure with what looked to be a strange weapon. The figure shot ice at the foe.
"Dance Carmen!" Panther said as she summoned a cat lady in a big dress. The cat lady shot a torrent of flames.
"I'm up next, Zorro!" Mona said as he summoned a giant cat-like figure with a sword. Said figure had wind powers.
"Nue!" Joker said as he summoned a beast with a snake for a tail. It charged at the shadows with a purple glow.
"Finish them, Johanna!" Queen said as she summoned-
Wait, IS THAT A MOTORCYCLE?!
Queen rammed into the shadows with the motorcycle, making them dizzy. Hat Kid switched to her brewing hat and threw a barrage of potions at the shadows finishing them off.
Everyone looked in astonishment at how Hat Kid finished off the shadows with ease.
"What were those attacks? Could it be another persona?" Mona asked.
Hat Kid tilted her head in confusion. The peck was a Persona? Was it those things that everyone summoned by taking off their mask?
"Nevermind that, right now we need to get into this vault." Queen said. "Try a 2 at the end." she said to Joker.
Joker punched in the keycode with the 2 at the end and the vault door finally opened. They then heard Kaneshiro's voice, which made Hat Kid jump and cling to Queen.
"The richer guy at the top of the food chain will devour me, I'm not the person I used to be." Kaneshiro's voice said. "Not enough, it's still not enough!"
"Hat Kid, you're squeezing me a little too tight there." Queen said.
"What was that?" Joker asked.
"I think it's the true voice of Kaneshiro's heart." Mona said.
"He really believes that his only worth comes from having money." Queen said. "What a pitiful man."
Hat kid heard some clanking of metal and soon found out that the platform she was standing on was an elevator that was going down. Hat Kid didn't know there was another floor of this place beneath her.
When a door opened, there was a glowing ball of light in the middle of the room.
"We struck gold. Treasure!" Mona said with delight.
Hat Kid failed to see how a glowing orb could be considered "Treasure".
"That's it?" Makoto asked.
"Not yet, it hasn't fully materialized." Joker said.
"Now that we found it, we gotta leave a calling card." Skull said.
Hat Kid just kept on getting more and more confused.
"So that's how it works, I get it now." Makoto said. "Once the target believes his treasure is in immediate danger, it should materialize for us. It's a bold plan, if not, the height of complexity."
"D**m you catch on, like real quick." Skull said.
"Well that's about the plan." Panther said while shrugging.
Hat Kid couldn't take it anymore. She cleared her throat to get their attention.
"Hm? Oh yeah, you prolly have no idea what we're talking about, huh? Judging by your confused look that is" Skull said.
"Allow me." Mona said as he started to explain.
One explanation later because I'm lazy and this chapter is already too long.
"So that's pretty much it. Simple yet pretty effective." Panther said.
"The problem is making sure Kaneshiro sees the calling card." Fox said.
"That may not be so difficult. Queen said. Everyone looked at her. "I've got a plan."
"Wait, before we go, what about Hat Kid?" Panther asked.
"Judging by what she did to those shadows earlier, she could be a useful ally." Mona said. "Plus, it looks like she can handle herself as well."
"Do you think you can meet up with us tomorrow, at the vault door where we first encountered each other?" Fox asked.
"Yeah! You can help us change Kaneshiro's heart and in return we'll help ya get that hourglass thing you like so much!" Skull said.
Hat Kid thought to herself for a moment. Hat Kid then looked at them and put her hand out for a handshake.
"It's a deal." Joker said as he shook her hand. "Consider yourself a temporary, yet honorary member of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts."
The Next Day…
One of Kaneshiro's clients was reading the Calling Card to him in the real world. "This is bad, boss."
"Bad? How is it bad?" Kaneshiro said while cleaning his ear. "The Phantom Thieves? They're nothing but a joke!."
Hat Kid was physically and mentally preparing herself. Working out every now and then, she was no longer fearful of Kaneshiro. In fact, she was angry, angry that this guy has been making people's lives miserable. She'll have to have a talk with Snatcher or the Empress, just like how her and the Phantom thieves were going to 'talk' with Kaneshiro.
"Putting them up all over shibuya basically guarantees that his thugs will see them." Makato said as she and the others were at their meeting place.
"That I can live with." Morgana said. "You should really follow her example Ryuji."
"Hey! I'm the one who actually put em up!" Ryuji replied. "It's not easy plastering them everywhere and getting caught you know!"
"It seems the stage is set. The time has come." Morgana said.
"This one is for real." Ann said. "We're going up against someone terrible."
"Couldn't ask for anything more!" Ryuji said. "Plus we got two awesome new members of the Phantom Thieves."
"I have to say, that Hat Kid is a strange one." Yusuke commented.
"I'm sure we'll learn more about er' later on!" Ryuji said.
"He's right, changing Kaneshiro's heart is our main priority." Morgana said. "We'll worry about Hat Kid later."
"Right, anyway evil adults are garbage. I know better for waiting this long." Makoto said. "And I swear we will end this!"
"It seems we are ready to begin." Yusuke said.
"Hopefully Hat Kid didn't bail on us." Ann said.
"I doubt it, she seemed really interested in that Hourglass thing. A Time Piece I think she called it." Morgana said. "I don't think she would pass up a chance like this one to get it."
"Fair point." Ann replied.
"Let's go." Ren said as they entered the Metaverse.
Hat Kid, now armed and ready. Entered through the doorway in her secret diary room at the same time as the others entering the metaverse.
And she just so happened to catch up with them from behind as she saw them at the same place she encountered them yesterday. However, they hadn't noticed her yet because they were too busy looking at how the treasure room became a gigantic safe overnight.
"What the h**l is this?!" Skulled yelled.
"Well hello there." A distorted voice said. "They all turned around to see Shadow Kaneshiro along with some goons. "Welcome to my private city bank." He said while rubbing his hands together.
"Kaneshiro!" Queen said.
"Took us long enough to get here." Skull said. "Now we are, it's time to kick your a** and change your twisted heart! And take back what isn't yours!"
Hat Kid had a soft smile on her face before turning back to Kaneshiro.
"My heart was changed a long, long time ago." Kaneshiro said while still rubbing his hands together. "I crawled through wasted filth and out the drain. Only fair enough that it's my turn to profit."
This guy reminded Hat Kid WAY too much of the Empress in Nyakuza Metro.
Kaneshiro continued. "The fools get tricked, the cowards, but the clever ones dominate! The stupid must pay for their mistakes." His hands started to rub together faster. "Fools will always be fools. Always, ALWAYS!"
Kaneshiro then started to twitch and eventually do that creepy thing where a shadow's limbs twitch all over the place. "ALWAYS."
Joker gasped.
"That's freaky!" Skull said.
Hat Kid felt like she was gonna barf. But it only got worse when insect wings sprouted from his back and the eyes of a fly grew on his face. This freaked out his goons, making them run away.
"You're nothing but slaves, slaves will serve me for the rest of their lives! We will swarm all over and take every single action for myself!"
He kept on twitching and buzzing just like a fly as well, which was even more unnerving. He was also still rubbing his hands together too.
"He's nothing but a filthy fly!" Queen said. "We will crush you!"
"Ready Hat Kid?" Joker asked.
Hat Kid nodded and pulled out her trusty umbrella. It was time to make this filthy fly buzz off.
Kaneshiro laughed maniacally while also doing weird dances. "Here we go, ya little punks, Yo!"
Then the battle began.
AND DONE! Phew! I was WAY too into this story. I had a lot of fun writing it.
Next time… it's Hat Kid and the Phantom Thieves vs Shadow Kaneshiro!
Also, Fun Fact: Did you know that the Conductor in A Hat in Time and Joker in Persona 5 have the same voice actor? It's true! They're both voiced by Xander Mobus.
