Lily frowns at her husband while he is explaining his plan to her. "So you basically want to kidnap a kid because you can't have any?" she asks him incredulously.
"Well I suppose if you want to be blunt about it, than yes. My family has had to do it a few times in the past as have other pure blood families," James explains to her.
"That is not something I am comfortable with James," Lily says with an angry expression clouding her pretty face.
"What would you rather we do? You-know-who could find us any day, and I need to provide an heir so the potter line can continue," he says standing up to meet her eye to eye.
"If this is really that important, then I have several rules that you need to agree to," she says harshly.
"What?" he asks angrily.
"The parents are to be kept in the loop. They are not to be cut out of their childs life. And if anything happens to us, the child goes back to it's parents immediately via port key," she says harshly. James remains very still and silent while he thinks over these conditions.
"Very well. Now all we need to do is find a child to blood adopt," he says losing his anger, and sitting heavily on the desk in his study.
"We should let magic decide," Lily says under her breathe. Despite trying to not upset him further, he hears, and jumps up happily.
"Very well," he says with a big smile on his face, holding her hands gently.
The two of them spend months figuring the spell out, before finally performing it together. The spell is designed to take them to a child with great potential. One that might not survive without the boost a blood adoption would provide. They wanted to make sure that the parents were also open to new things as well.
They disappear in a puff of smoke, and reappear in a delivery room unseen by the occupents. The woman is smiling happily down at the baby boy she just delivered, while a man stands next to her looking as happy as she does. What is really odd is that he is holding a gun, pointed at the doctor tending the woman.
"There, you are all set. I know you want to leave immediately, but I suggest waiting at least a couple of hours so that she can rest. I will also get a bag together for you," the doctor says nervously. His gaze keeps going to the gun the man holds.
"No need we have been preparing for this day for the last seven months," the man says with a huge smile on his face looking at the woman and child.
"Do you want to hold your son, babe?" the woman asks in a tired dreamy voice, and the guy hands her the gun to take the baby.
"They are certainly different," James says softly.
"I want water," the woman tells the doctor in a firm tone of voice.
"I will be right back," the doctor wastes no time getting up and leaving.
"We should step in now," Lily whispers.
"Excuse me, I do not mean to intrude on this moment of joy, but me and my wife need your help as much as you may need ours," James says canceling the concealment spell on him and Lily. The two are forced to immediately duck as two bullets fly at them.
"Hold on dear," the man says, he is trying to soothe the baby who became frightened by the gunshots.
"We did not mean to frighten you," Lily says shakily.
"What do you want?" the woman asks, gun directed at James mostly.
"I know it may seem hard to believe, but we are magicians. We have been unable to have any children, and so found a spell that could help us with this endeavor. It is supposed to take us to a child that needs our help, one that may be in danger in the near future," James explains.
"So you want to take my baby?" the woman asks in a cold voice.
"You did not listen love. Our beautiful boy is going to be in danger in the near future. Can you promise that we can see him again in the future?" the man asks. His gaze has not once left the samll baby in his arms. Who is now reaching a small and weak hand towards his fathers face.
"Yes, we plan to include you in everything. And since we are being hunted as well, should anything happen to us, he will be returned to you immediately by magic," Lily tells him in a tone of voice that brooks no argument.
"You may even come back with us. You would have a place to live, and once you are fully healed and rested we can set you up with a place close by," James suggested.
"No, we would have to pack first," the woman says looking at her partner with a thoughtful expression. The group hears a loud commotion in the hallway, and James hurries to the door and places his hand against it. Locking it so that no one may enter.
"Apparently the two of you are in bigger trouble than we originally anticipated" James says.
"It is nothing that we cannot handle, but I would rather not risk our baby," the man says. He finally looks up from his baby to eye the two strangers. For a long moment no one moves while the door receives several loud bangs. Finally the man meets his partners gaze and nods his head once.
"Very well. We will give you our baby, but you must stick to your word. I want pictures as often as you can send them. I imagine we will be making a move to Britain?" he asks looking back at James.
"Yes, London preferably. Can we know your names? We will be able to send you letters as long as we know them," James tells the two parents.
"What will you do to my baby?" the woman asks, holding her hands out so she can hold her baby one more time.
"We will perform a ritual, that is called a blood adoption. This will make it so that all four of us would be related to him by blood. By doing this he will be considered the heir to my family line, and have access to my families vaults which are full of gold and history," James tells her.
"So he would grow up rich?" the man chuckles. "That may be very good indeed," the two of them chuckle together for a moment.
"My name is Martha, and my babies name is Harrison," she tells them, and Lily smiles at the name.
"It is a very lovely name. I am Lily Evans- Potter," she says daring to step closer. She has always wanted a baby, but loved James far too much to ever have a child that was not his.
"I am James Potter, Heir to the most ancient and noble house of Potter," James says and does a full bow with a hand over his chest.
"Nice to meet you both," the man says with a wide smile as he kisses Lily's knuckles, and shakes James's hand.
"Oh, just tell them your name," Martha says with exasperation.
"But I hate my name," he pouts at her.
"Do you want pictures or not?" she reminds him, and he pouts even deeper if that was possible.
"My name is Francis," he says just loud enough for the Potter's to hear. Just then the door gives off a loud groaning sound, and the four of them look at it with worry.
"Here, you must go. If you do not take care of my baby, I will hunt you down and kill you both. Magic or no magic," Martha says in a very dark tone that contradicts the big smile on her face. Lily gingerly accepts the small child, that is staring up at her with large hazel eyes.
"I will protect him with everything I am," Lily says looking deep into the baby's eyes. She feels her magic bind her to her word, and smiles softly at the small baby boy.
"Come Lils, we must get going. You as well, I advise the window if you are able. That door will not last much longer," James says, wrapping an arm protectively around his wife's shoulders.
"Don't worry, we have been in worse positions before," Francis says with a huge grin. He scoops Martha into his arms while she smiles at fond memories. She then pulls out two guns, and checks their clips.
"All good here, babe. Can we go home? I feel like a bath," she asks as she nuzzles his neck fondly.
"Why of course," Francis says easily. She then shoots out the windows, and they disappear into the night. James and Lily vanish with a small pop, just as the door slams open, and countless officers fill the now empty room.
"You know that was a really close call right?" Lily says as they reappear in their ritual room.
"Yes I know, but it was necessary," James says looking down at the baby Harrison. "He really is very adorable," he waggles a finger in front of the boy's face. The boy manages to catch it, and brings it to his mouth to suckle on it.
"We should hurry, he will need food soon," Lily says to snap James out of his stupor.
"Yes. Mopsy!" he calls out in a loud voice. A house elf pops up in front of him, and waits for his instruction.
"Can you please get a nursery ready for our new baby, and prepare a bottle for him?" James asks her politely.
"Of course Master," she bows and disappears as quickly as she had appeared.
"Now to get just a small drop of his blood," James strides across the room, and picks up the ceremonial knife he kept down here. Lily picks up a small bowl, and holds it while James pricks Harrison's foot. As soon as a single drop of blood lands in the bowl the small wound heals. James and Lily do the same, and add a drop from each of them. Then Lily heads upstairs to take care of young Harrison.
Mopsy appears to lead her to the room she set up for the baby, and Lily smile as she sees it is the room with the family tree tapestry. Her smile grows even bigger when Harrison's name appears on the tree under James. She sees that he gave his real fathers name as a middle name, so that he will always be connected to his birth parents no matter what.
She settles in a comfortable rocking chair, and holds the nipple of the baby bottle to his mouth. He accepts it quickly, and she watches with fascination s the blood adoption starts to change him a little. His big hazel eyes become a shade or two darker and lean a tad bit more towards green, the peach fuzz on top of his head becomes darker, almost black. For now those are the only noticeable changes that she cane see, after all he was just born about an hour ago.
James finds them and just sits with them. Watching as his new heir finishes the bottle and falls asleep in the arms of his soul mate and wife. Once she sets him gently in the crib, James and her just watch him. Then an idea pops into his head, and he flies silently from the room in a hurry. A while ago, his best friend Sirius, gave him a set of mirrors, and this would be perfect for Harrison's parents.
He pulls them out, and takes one of them back to the nursery. After a quick scan of the room he is able to identify the perfect spot to place it so they can see the entire room. He places a stinking charm on it so that it will not fall down while young Harrison plays in the room. This will also allow them to talk with him whenever. He seals the other in a package, before going to his eagle. The bird had been the last gift he ever received from his parents before they died, and was perfect for this type of job. The eagle was impervious to spells, and was trained to stop for nothing while delivering. It is also big enough that it will kill any other bird that tries to stop it from delivering mail.
"Can you please take this to Martha or Francis. I believe they live in new Orleans Louisiana across the pond in America," he tells his faithful bird of prey. The eagle bows it's head regally, before accepting the package and taking flight. He watches it only for a few seconds, before heading to find his wife. He wanted some affection from her tonight. Unbeknownst to him, young Harrison had other plans that he was not prepared for in the least
