I am not happy with the writers right now on GH. I decided that I was going to write a story about how they should have brought Sonny home. Nina finds him and enlists Jason's help to bring him back home. I do not own the characters they belong to GH and ABC.
Nina needed to get away from Port Charles to think about how her life is spiraling after telling Wiley that Willow is not his real mother. She knew it was wrong and she realized the best thing she could do was to take some time away from the town she grew to love.
She told her family that she was going to see her friend in Pennsylvania. She was not sure what was going to happen after that. She packed her things and took off for Nixon Falls.
Mike is tending bar and helping his new friends, Phyllis and Lenny. They have taken him in after almost drowning in the nearby river. He has lost his memory and he is not sure if he wants to remember or not. Nina comes into the bar and sees "Sonny". She is shocked and is not sure what to do.
"Phyllis, can I ask you about your bartender? He looks like someone I know. He fell off a bridge a couple of months ago. His family has been missing him terribly. I am not sure what I should do?"
Phyllis looked at Nina and she realized that Nina may be the one to help Mike find his family. "You either could ask him or call someone who would know for sure and have them come here. Maybe take a picture and send it. That way they would know for sure before they come here."
Nina decided to wait a day or two and learn more about Mike. The two of them became friends and she told him about her life in Port Charles. She said she was looking for her daughter who was taken from her while she was in a coma. Phyllis helped her find her daughter and that is how they became friends. Phyllis was the nurse who took care of Nina while she was in a coma.
"I agree with you that Phyllis is a great nurse and healer. She has helped me a lot and so has Lennie. I owe them a lot. You need to check out the area while you are here. I could show you around." Nina took him up on his offer of being her tour guide. She loved to hear the stories about the town and the people in it.
"Mike, I think that you used to live in the same town that I lived in before coming here. You are married and have a complicated life. Your wife and I do not exactly get along and that is because of who my daughter was and how she hurt a lot of people. You and your wife, Carly were just two of them. I wanted to ask you if you mind me taking your picture and sending it to your best friend, Jason. If he thinks that it, is you here, I know that he will come down here to see you for himself. Just know that you have been missed."
She took a picture of him and called Jason. He would be discreet and not say anything until he knew for sure that it was Sonny. Nina knew deep down that he was Sonny, but she thought that she might help him and then he could help her with Wiley.
She called Jason to tell him the good news. "Jason, this is Nina. I am in a place called Nixon Falls, Pennsylvania. I am visiting a bar called the Tano. I believe the new bartender here is Sonny. I am sending you, his photo. He was hurt badly and lost his memory, but he is doing much better now. Can you please come here and see him? I would have called Carly, but she would not believe me. Thanks!"
Jason calls back a few minutes later and tells her he is on the way. Jason takes a plane to Nixon Falls that same day. He rented a vehicle and drove to the bar where Sonny was supposed to be working.
The first thing that Jason does was smell the pasta sauce and knew it could be him. Sonny was always cooking, and he loved his pasta. Jason knew not to come on too strong or Sonny might get spooked. He goes to the bar and orders a beer. Sonny looked at Jason and had a flash over seeing his face before he fell off the bridge. Then he grabbed his head because of the pain of the memory flash.
"Do I know you? I looked at you and saw a flash of your face before the bridge fell into the river. Are we friends? I am sorry, but my memory is not that great right now."
Jason looked at him and nodded. "I want you to know that we were looking for you for weeks and then the police said that no one could have survived that fall. We thought you were dead until Nina left me a message with your photo. No one else knows about this trip. If you are not ready to go home. I understand. You helped me when I lost my memory and gave me a job. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask? I will not hold out on you. You have a lot of family and friends that miss you. This watch that you are wearing is your father's watch. Your mother gave it to him when they were married."
Jason was waiting for him to ask him some more questions when Carly called. "I am out of town. I am not sure when I will be back. Just keep everything going the way it is right now. I have to go."
Nina could tell by the way he talked that it was Carly on the phone. She was getting on Jason's nerves, and she could not help but laugh. Sonny saw the connection the two of them had and he was a bit jealous.
Jason went back to his beer and drank some more of it. Sonny could tell that something was bothering the younger man, but he was afraid to ask. Jason decided he needed to talk to someone who would understand what was going on and maybe give him some suggestions to help Sonny.
He looked at everyone and told them he would be right back. Jason called up Elizabeth. She was shocked by seeing his number, but she took the call. "Jason, what can I help you with?"
"I am sorry to bother you, but I found Sonny in Nixon Falls, PA. He lost his memory when he went off the bridge, but he looks great other than that. I am not sure if I should tell him all about Port Charles or just let him ask questions until he feels safe enough for maybe Michael or Carly to come down. It is really not a great time to be gone because of Cyrus, but I cannot leave him here."
"You have always wanted everyone to let you decide what you want and not to take any decisions away from you. Let him know about Carly and his children. Let him know they love and miss him, but do not try to force him to go home until he is ready to do that. I am happy that you found him. Now you can live your life on your own without having to worry about everyone else. I will say a prayer for you and Sonny."
"Thank you. You have helped me more than you know. Tell the boys that I will see them soon. I love you. You are the one person that I can trust will tell me truth even when I do not want to know it."
"I love you too. I will tell the boys about you asking about them and that you love them."
Jason went back inside the bar to get another beer and to try out Sonny's pasta. He knew that Sonny could cook, but not sure how he was doing now. "I came back because I need to know if his old pasta recipe can compete with his newer recipe."
Sonny realized that the two of them had to be friends because he felt close to him even though he did not remember him. "Okay. I have a few questions for you? The first what is my name and if I am married. Do I have any children and what do I do for a living?"
"I will be honest with you, but you might not like all the answers. The first thing is your name is Michael Corinthos, but you go by Sonny. You are married and have five children. One of your children had passed away from a car accident a few years back. I do not know that much about it because I was kidnapped and put into a coma in Russia. Your wife, Carly is a handful on a good day. You are a coffee importer and the coffee that you are making here is one of our best brands. Yes, I am your partner. I can have your oldest son and your wife come down here to see you or just your son, Michael. I will leave it up to you. This is your life and if you want to stay here and not go back, then I will not tell anyone about Nixon Falls. You have always treated me like a brother, and I will do the same for you."
Sonny looked at Jason and realized that he was in the mob. He wondered how he knew certain things without thinking about it, but now it made sense. "I am not sure about Carly, but you can have Michael come down here. He will be able to handle this better than her. I do not know why, but I just have that feeling."
Jason went off to call Michael. He told Michael that his father was alive and living in Nixon Falls. He was going to send the plane to him, but he could not tell his mother until his father was sure about going back. Michael said he was ready to go whenever the plane got there.
A couple of hours later, Michael showed up with Wiley. He took him over to his grandfather and realized that Nina was there. Jason never said anything about her but realized she must have called Jason.
Nina saw Wiley and Michael walk over to Sonny. He was not sure what to say to him because he did not want to make things worse for his father. Nina introduced Michael and Wiley to Phyllis, Lennie and Sonny. She told them that Wiley was her grandson. Sonny looked at Michael and Wiley. It was a bit strange to him, but the baby looked more familiar to him than the child's father.
Sonny's headache was getting worse, and he needed to sit down and take something for it. There were a bunch of images in his head and the more he tried to make sense of them, the more it hurt. Phyllis could see that her friend was in distress. "Mike. Come over here and take some aspirin and water. Having your memories start to come back could give you the headache that you are having right now. Then you can go rest and come back when you are feeling better."
Jason could tell that Sonny really liked it in Nixon Falls. It was slow and peaceful there. It would not be hard to want to live a slow-paced life after the one he had forgotten. Sonny came back downstairs a few hours later. Nina, Jason and Michael were still there. Sonny knew that he was going to go back with Jason and Michael. He remembered some of his life but was not too happy about it. The main thing was his family was in danger and he wanted to make sure that his friends in Nixon Falls were taken care of and not have to worry about losing their businesses.
"I want to thank you Lennie and Phyllis for everything that you have done for me. I am just realizing how much I must have been missed in Port Charles. Nina, thank you for calling Jason and asking him to come here. I have been remembering some of my life back there and I need to get back and handle business. Lennie, if you ever need me for anything I will be back. I plan on sending some money back here to help all the businesses get back on their feet. I want you to know that being here for the past few months has made me a better man."
The seven of them ate a great dinner. The plane was ready whenever they were to go back home. "Nina, are you staying here, or do you want to go back with us? We have plenty of room and you can hang out with Wiley for a while. I know that I was a bit too harsh on you but telling Wiley that Willow is not his mother really hurt Willow. It confused Wylie and I realize that this is all new, but what you have done for our family is something that I cannot repay you. Please think about it. Jason can have someone pick up your vehicle if you are worried about it."
Phyllis was happy for her friends. Mike was going home and seeing his family again. Nina is going to be able to see her grandson more because of calling Jason. Everyone said goodbye to Phyllis and Lennie. Sonny was a bit sad about leaving, but he could always go back if he needed time away from Port Charles.
Sonny was true to what he told his friends. He sent a check to city hall to help the businesses get back to where they were before all the crime started happening. Sonny let Lennie use his sauce recipe for the tourists and friends still in Nixon Falls. There was a fundraiser for the clinic and the money went to much needed upgrades. The money was enough for the upgrades and hiring new staff to help. Phyllis was ready to retire and spend her days with her husband Lennie.
Nina and Sonny became friends and it drove Carly crazy. Peter was captured after Gladys told the truth about him. Jason was let out of Pentonville for killing Franco. There was no need to go on the run with Britt. Maxie was able to keep her baby. Brooklyn told everyone the truth about not being pregnant. Valentin forgave her and the Q's followed along with him. Valentin and Anna got closer due to everything with Peter.
Jordan was able to prosecute Cyrus for trying to force Gladys into saying Jason killed Franco instead of Peter. Jason and Elizabeth got closer together due to the death of her husband. Sam realized that nothing was going to change in Port Charles and thought about moving away.
Carly wanted Jason and Sonny for herself. She found out that trying to keep both would backfire on her. Sonny got closer to Nina and the two started dating. They went to Nixon Falls every couple of months to see what was going on there.
Carly then tried to make Jason feel bad for her, but he told her that he was still in love with Elizabeth. The two got married a few months after he was exonerated in Franco's death.
