Spellboost +1

Pairing: Kazuki x Kai tension.

Summary:

Has Ijuin Kai found his plus-one?

Kai activated three Spellboosts this turn, so Summon Snow created that number of Snowmen plus the free Snowman built into the card's ability.

Which should have totalled out to four.

But something was off with the math. He counted five smiling followers flailing their arms about.

The four followers which were promptly incinerated by their opponents' limitless Hellflame Dragons, yet still smiling as they popped into ubiquitous cubes of light.

And Shindo Kazuki, who sprang up and stretched and rolled his elbows in the face of their rapidly decreasing odds.

Frozen on optimism. Frozen on "We haven't lost yet, y'know?"

Shindo Kazuki wasn't wrapped in a polka dot scarf like the Snowmen, but the swaying of his headband's tails when he swaggered convinced Kai the inequality was immaterial.

Kai's phone wasn't broken. This battle had given him a plus-one, and with this plus-one, altered his calculations to where he'd need to recalculate.

Cost 1. Attack 1. Defence 1.

Not weak. A ball of potential.

The correct set of plays and extra draws to draw out victory from a probable KO by Zuo and Ko. To turn back time. To launch an Alexandrian strike and multiply their attacks fourteen…fifteen…sixteenfold!

Shindo Kazuki was the veteran Shadowverse player who didn't let melting in the heat break his chill.

Kai's monkey for one-sided battles.

Or coefficient for proving himself.

Or a variable even a genius like Kai had difficulty predicting.

Annoying.

Constant.

Annoyingly constant.

Constantly getting him included in his monkey business.

They hadn't lost yet, so they could still win.

No. They would win, Kai declared it!

Simulation complete.

Double knockout.

Kazuki-san. Kazuki-san.
