It was a nice day in Adventure Bay. The sun was shining, the pups were out playing, Ryder was inside The Lookout playing games on his Pup Pad, everyone was having a good time. Well, almost everyone...
Marshall was inside The Lookout looking at some pictures in a scrapbook. Marshall sI he'd as he looked at the pictures of Ryder and the other pups parachuting. Marshall knew that he had chosen to stay at The Lookout, and there was nothing wrong with that. But now he was starting to think that maybe he had missed out on a good time. Then again, he HAD helped out with Katie's emergency with the kittens that day. That was a positive! But still, Marshall felt like he should have at least tried parachuting.
As Marshall sat looking at the pictures, Chase had come inside The Lookout, only to see Marshall looking upset. Chase quietly walked over to his friend.
"Why do I feel like such a coward? Every time I have to do something with flying or heights, I chicken out! But when it's an emergency with the PAW Patrol, I am able to do it! But why? Why do I feel like a coward?" Marshall told himself.
"You are not a coward..." A voice said behind him. Marshall jumped in surprise, only to see Chase.
"Oh. Hi Chase. You heard what I said, didn't you?" Marshall replied back.
"Yes. ... Marshall, you are not a coward! You are one of the bravest pups I know. Why are you so hard on yourself? If it wasn't for you, nobody would have been here to help out Katie. Aren't you happy you could help her?" Chase responded. Marshall nodded.
"Yes. I'm glad I helped out Katie, but I also feel like I missed out on the parachute experience. Like I missed out on a good time. And it's all because of my fear of flying and heights!" Marshall explained.
"Marshall, it's okay to be scared. Remember how I was scared to see the dentist? You pups helped me out, and I'd be more than happy to return the favor! We'll all help you out Marshall!" Chase suggested.
"I don't know, Chase. This fear of mine isn't something new. I just don't know if I can handle it!" Marshall commented.
"But Marshall, look at all the things you HAVE done. You've done things before when it came to flying; you got to ride in Santa's sleigh, you got to kite-surf with Zuma, you've climbed your ladder plenty of times during rescues, you helped your bird buddy Fuzzy get back to his flock by riding in Skye's helicopter, you flew in her helicopter to help Alex get over his fears, and you even flew using Skye's Pup Pack to rescue the kittens!"
"Yes, I did do all those things. But Chase, I didn't chose to ride in Skye's helicopter to help Alex with his fears; Skye and I got picked to do that by Ryder!" Marshall replied.
"But you still did it. Aren't you happy with all the things you've done when you DID have to deal with your fears? Regardless if it was an emergency or not? ... Marshall, there is nothing to feel bad about when you get over your fears. It proves you can accomplish things, even when you're afraid. What do you say Marshall?" Chase commented.
Marshall thought hard about what Chase had said, and he was right. He HAD done things when it came to his fear of flying and heights. Besides, the only part of parachuting that had last time was his landing. Hopefully that wouldn't be too bad... As long as he had a soft landing. Besides, if he didn't get over his fears now, he might not be able to deal with them later on. He decided it was worth a try.
"Okay, Chase. I'll give parachuting another try! Let's go tell Ryder," Marshall answered.
"Okay! And don't worry, the others and I will help you however we can!" Chase said. The two friends then ran to the elevator to go tell Ryder.
