AN - The humor wasn't my focus when writing this, so beware that it's pretty weak. I tried to not make it OOC, but this is my second go at this fanfiction thing, so please let me know your thoughts and constructive criticism if you have any. I don't own Naruto (sadly), Masashi Kishimoto does.

The moon shone brightly in Konoha, the heat still obvious though it was night, giving the village a damp feel.

Sakura Haruno opened her bedroom window, and leaned out, stifled by the heat, but it was no better out there, then inside. Choosing to leave it open, she decided to take a quick shower before going to bed. It was nearing midnight, but the hospital had a busy day, and so despite the time, she knew she wouldn't feel comfortable in this weather without some cooling down.

After a refreshing shower, she put on a loose tank top, and some pajama shorts, ready to turn in for the night. Dimming her light, she went to grab a quick glass of water from her kitchen. It was quiet in the house, the only sound being the running water, until she heard a light noise coming from her room. She quickly turned off the sink, and grabbed a knife, before laughing inside and dropping the knife back on the counter.

Sakura quickly ran to her room, only to see a tall silhouette standing by her window, their hand out towards it. She would've immediately taken action against the person... if she didn't feel this familiarity. Not someone she could ever forget, she breathed out their name, "Sasuke".

The figure stopped their motion at the words, moving into the light, and looking towards her instead. Black hair, styled like a duck's butt, eyes that were tinged red even in the moon's light, and dressed in black with a sandy cloak. "Sakura", she snapped out of her staring at their voice, and wondered for a flashing moment if she had fallen asleep at some point, and her imagination was giving her moments she could only experience in her sleep. But, blinking, she knew that this moment was no dream.

Sasuke was here.

He continued to look at her, and Sakura found a new interest in the ground next to him, looking towards it. They both went to speak at the same time. "Why is your window open?" "Why did you come in through my window?" She swiveled her head toward him at his words, her question in a way answered, why bother knocking on a door when you have an open window? Wait... that's not normal. But, this is Sasuke, so maybe it was.

Now Sasuke, who had come with a purpose, had not said what he had planned to say, but he realized it was important to ask all the same. So he kept his mouth shut, and stared expectantly toward the pink-haired kunoichi for an answer.

She paused for a moment, he's finally returned from his journey, and chose to come in and question her keeping her window open? Feeling confused, she still decided to respond, stating, as if it was obvious, "it was hot in here." Sasuke's face, maintaining its straight expression, took a good moment to glance at her. While he was aware of the heat outside, her reply only garnered more dissatisfaction as he took in her outfit. She was gonna sleep like that? Hair down, looking sleek, like her figure with her outfit choice, and her bedroom window open, which he just came through no problem.

He didn't realize his stare only grew harder with these thoughts as he voiced them, "I was able to access your room with no problem, it's dull of you to allow a person such a thing, especially in the night." Sakura gaped at him, his words while not exactly wrong, did not take in to the fact that one, it was seriously hot, two, few would be stupid enough to do that, and three, she would have no problem noticing and taking care of anyone who did.

Feeling a bit spited, she claimed, "I'd put them to a deep sleep if someone dared to try it, not that anyone would." Pausing, she tilted her head, before going on, "except you, apparently. But it's no big deal, I noticed right away, didn't I?"

Yeah, he thought, 'cause you looking like that is no big deal. Still, he was Sasuke Uchiha, and Sasuke Uchiha did not comment on such things. So, he gave her a curt nod, and decided it was time to say what he had come for.

"Sakura, I want you to come with me."

Her eyes widened at his words, and Sasuke frowned as Sakura just looked at him bug-eyed, mouth slightly open. Maybe he needed to clarify. "I want to travel with you, have you with me, start another journey with just the two of us."

Sakura put her hand to her chest, each restatement hit right in the heart. She'd been waiting for so, so long to hear this, and he'd finally arrived. In a way they'd always been together, she was too stubborn to ever let her heart leave him, and his humanity just didn't let him keep his shut, but hearing this, she realized he was finally ok with that.

Overwhelmed with joy for this man she loved, Sakura stepped towards him, and wrapped her arms around his neck, keeping her head lying on his chest, she said, "there's nothing I'd want more than that." While surprised by her sudden movement, Sasuke made no move to stop her. He put his hand on her face, tilted her chin up, so he could capture her expression in the moment, and told her, "hn, get your things together, we'll head out today." Although he felt quite content with this position, she seemed to realize their closeness, and quickly backed up.

Awkwardly smiling at him, she put a hand behind her head, and laughed stiffly as if what she did just hit her, "Haha, sorry about that, I'll, uh, get my stuff." She walked out of the room, only to come back three seconds later, as she realized the things she needed were in her bedroom. Still holding that smile, she walked up to him, lightly pushed him to her room-door entrance, before shutting it. Sasuke was left a bit dumbfounded by what just happened, but decided to stay quiet and wait for her to finish preparing.

Sakura paced around her room, her mind too filled on what she should take to acknowledge her bold move. She grabbed a backpack from her closet, and grabbed a few more pairs of her usual outfit, some bathroom utilities, a medical book she was given by Lady Tsunade, a necklace from her parents, and the picture of team seven she'd always kept.

Zipping up her backpack, she took a deep breath, and looked out the window. Closing it, she thought, 'this was really happening. She was going to travel with Sasuke.' Excitement filled her heart, while she was going to miss Konoha, she would do her best to keep in contact, and enjoy this new journey.

Grabbing her pack, she opened the door, faced Sasuke, and sounded with obvious spirit, "I'm ready." Sasuke took in her bright face, and murmured, "ah, let's go."

As they left her house, Sakura stated, "we should go to the hokage's office. Naruto, Kakashi Sensei, and Lady Tsunade should be there. Then we can stop by my parent's place to let them know where I am." Sasuke had taken care of this, or at least he thought he did, "I stopped by there earlier, and talked to Kakashi and Naruto. They noticed my direction, and should understand where you'll be. And I'm sure the dobe won't be able to keep his mouth shut, and will let everyone else know soon enough." Sakura couldn't help but agree, if Naruto knew, then she's sure everyone they knew would become aware.

"Heh, yeah, you're right about that." They seemed to be all set now, but Sasuke had one more thing to do. He pulled out a light coat for traveling that matched his, and put it around her shoulders. Sakura blushed, but didn't comment and wrapped it tighter. Getting to the gates of the village, she took a quick glance back to take it all in, before turning her gaze to the man by her side, and moving forward.
