The beautiful country of Hyrule was at war with itself. War. A thing soldiers wished they could forget. All wars are important and serve a great purpose, this one however, would have effects so important, they exceed the importance of the war. The effects of this war would affect everyone for thousands of years. It would affect the Zoras up in Zora's domain, the Gorons on Death Moutain, the Hylians, spread across the Kingdom. It would also affect the Kokiri, despite the protection of the Great Deku Tree. Of course it would affect the Gerudo. The tribe of which most of their kin were female save one, a male born every thousand years. Ganondorf, leader of the Gerudo, and his fiancee Nuloun, would be affected the most of all the Gerudo.
While the war took place, Ganondorf lead his army of the best Gerudo fighters against the King's army of Hylians. Nuloun was sitting at the edge of the desert watching the battle when two of her friends st down beside her. "Hey Nuloun, want to go loot the dead Hylains?" her friend Ubosu asked."I don't know... Ganondorf said to stay here..." Nuloun answered. Her other friend Evine spoke up "Come on girl, it'll be fun!" "Please!!!" Ubosu begged. Nuloun looked at her two friends, finally giving in. "Ok, a few bodies, then we get back before Gannondorf sees us." Ubosu and Evine beamed: "Yes!" they yelled out together.
The three women hiked through the desert into Hyrule field, the sight that greeted them stopped them in their tracks. Fire, yelling, bodies both Hylian and Gerudo falling. They saw Ganondorf on his black horse, riding towards the King's commander. He was short, blonde, blue eyed, and very skilled with a sword. Ganondorf was skilled with his own sword. He swung his sword impaling the commander. Nuloun cringed at the sight. She was excited when Ganondorf said he would take back power the Hylian King took from them, she just didn't expect the results to be so violent. Not dwelling on the horrors of war too much, Nuloun and her friends started looting.
Soon Nuloun heard the hooves of a horse beating against the dirt of the field, fearing it was Ganondorf, she turned around quickly. It was not Ganondorf, instead it was a Hylian woman riding a horse carrying a small bundle of cloth. "Girls, found a live target." Nuloun said to her friends. Evine looked up "Excellent..." "Ok, I'll take the right side, Evine, you take the left. Nuloun, you take the center." Ubosu said. "Got it." Nuloun and Evine said together. When the horse rode near enough, they jumped out suddenly and scared the animal. It reared back, the woman screamed holding her bundle close to her as she fell. She landed on her back, there was a snap. "What was that?" Nuloun asked. Evine looked panicked. "I d-don't know." she answered.
Uboso felt for the woman's pulse. "She's dead, that snap was the arrows in her back breaking." Uboso announced. The bundle in her arms started moving and it started crying. Nuloun picked up and opened the blanket inside was a baby boy. Evine stared at the baby. "Girls, we just orphaned a baby." Uboso looked scared. "Whay do we do?" she asked panicking. Nuloun looked at the baby in her arms. "I'll raise him, after all it is kinda my fault." Ubosu looked at Nuloun "It's our fault, we convinced you to come with us!" "It's my fault for letting you convince me." Nuloun argued. Evine had an idea. "What if you adopt him, but Uboso and I be his aunts?" Nuloun looked at Evine "Ok, that sounds like it will work." Ubose looked at the infant in Nuloun's arms. "What will his name be?" Nuloun went deep in thought, she didn't know what to name this child. Suddenly a giant tree that seemed alive crept into her mind. "The boy's name is Link. He is the Hero of Time in the legend. Your husband Ganondorf is the evil one in the prophecy. One day Link will fight Ganondorf. When the boy reaches the age of nine, send him into the lost woods alone." spoke the Great Deku Tree. "Link." Nuloun said quietly. She could hardly believe what she heard. This baby, defeat her husband? It seemed impossible, but how else would the tree know about Ganondorf? The women packed up and hiked towards the desert racing to get back home before Ganondorf, who was still leading his army to what he supposed would be a certain victory.
