Hi ya'll... so this is my first My Hero Academia fanfic... i got into the series recently and discovered some fan comics. basically i'm in too deep and i'm ok with that. idk what exactly inspired this, but i had to write. so... Behold! Female Deku x Todoroki. at first i was going to write a story where deku was turned into a girl, but for some odd reason it didn't feel right. so, au where deku was born a girl. also, i kinda made her a bit sassy. lol.

Ch, 1. You remind me of someone
Izuku Midoriya was a quirkless girl. But, she had a dream. She wanted to be a hero. She wanted to protect people like herself, the quirkless, the underdogs, and the helpless.
"Quirkless loser!" A boy called out to her as she walked by.
She was used to it, so she ignored it.
"Hey Deku!" An all too familiar voice came to her ears.
With a sigh she looked up from her shoes. "What do you want kacchan?" She raised an eyebrow at her so-called friend.
He laughed, it wasn't an inviting laugh, more maniacal Than anything. His hands sparked a bit. "Where do you think you're going nerd?"
"Home." She crossed her arms. "I'm meeting mom's new boyfriend today."
He laughed again. Such an awful laugh. He sounded more like a villain than a hero. "Your mom has a boyfriend! That's rich!"
"Goodbye kacchan." She walked passed him.
A few moments later she made it to her house. She noticed a pair of shoes she didn't recognize. "He's already here." She mumbled to herself.
"Izu? Is that you?" Her mother called out to her from the main room of the apartment.
She put on a smile, took off her shoes and walked into the main room.
She was greeted by her mother and what looked like a skeleton.
He smiled and waved at her. "You must be Izuku. Your mother has told me a lot about you." He stood up and bowed to her. "Let me introduce myself, I'm Toshinori Yagi. But if you want you can call me dad."
She gave him an uneasy smile. "Nice to finally meet you too sir." Things must have been getting really serious between him and her mom.
"I think it's a little early for Izu to call you dad." Her mother blushed.
Izuku relaxed a bit. She knew this man was making her mother happy, so she knew he must be a great guy.
She looked him over. He looked like he was on his deathbed. "Do you have a quirk sir?"
He scratched the back of his head. "Well yes."
She raised an eyebrow. "What is it?" Ok, now she was curious. She began to dig in her backpack for her notebook she kept about quirks.
"I can't tell you." He shrugged and sat down. "Your mother says you're interested in learning more about quirks and how they work." He motioned her to sit down at the table with them.
She was confused. Why couldn't he tell her about his quirk? She sat down anyway.
"I've taken a teaching job." He smiled. "Perhaps you'd be interested in…" He didn't get to finish.
"A teacher?" she glanced over at her mother who nodded.
"It's a good stable job." Inko smiled brightly. "No jetting off every five minutes."
Izuku knew that was a jab at her father. She didn't remember much about her father. And what little she did was that he was never home, however when he was… there was yelling. Lots of yelling. It felt like one day he left for a business trip and just never came back. She was what… 2? 3 years old at the time?
"Izu wants to apply to UA, but without a quirk I'm not sure she'll get in." Her mother's voice came back to her ears.
He smiled. "I could put in a good word."
"Huh?" Izuku was confused again. "No, I want to get in on my own." She rolled her eyes. "Besides, we just met and you know nothing about me." She stood up, bowed, picked up her backpack from the floor where she left it and turned around. "If you excuse me, I have homework."
He smiled wide with a chuckle. "She reminds me of a teacher I had when I was her age."
"Is that a good thing?" Inko seemed nervus.
"Yeah." He stood up. "Speaking of teachers, I should head down to the school. Izuku isn't the only one with homework." He chukled.
"be careful out there." Inko smiled.
Izuku hadn't closed the door to her room yet, but she was already sitting at her desk with a textbook open when he passed by it. He glanced in and noticed all of her All Might merch. He rolled his own eyes and smiled.
"It was nice to finally meet you Izuku." He waved.
She waved back without saying a word or looking up from her work.
"She'll come around… I hope." Inko stood beside him; gazing at her child. "She probably just had a rough day at school. She's always being bullied for being quirkless." A tear ran down her face. "I wish I could just give her mine."
He raised an eyebrow at her.
She smiled again. "Perhaps spending some time with each other would be good." She looked over to him. "Taking her with you to work one day is a great idea."
He smiled, hoping she didn't see how nervous he was. "What do you think Izuku?"
She looked up from her book with a bored expression. "Whoo." She spoke sarcastically.
He chuckled as Inko hugged him. "Be careful." She kissed him on the cheek.
Izuku rolled her eyes and went back to her homework.
He waved. "I'll see you ladies later."
With that, he was out the door.
Inko took a deep breath and exhaled. She leaned on Izuku's door frame. "I know he's not All Might, but he's a great man."
Izuku sighed. "it looks like he's dying."
"He was in a very bad car accident a few years ago." Inko began to explain. "He was badly injured."
Izuku raised an eyebrow. "How did you two meet?"
"I was volunteering at the hospital." Inko smiled. "That's how and where we met." She blushed. "Even though he was in great pain, he still smiled and laughed like nothing was wrong."
Izuku opened her mouth to say something, but couldn't find the words.
Inko sighed happily. "He made me laugh. Like I haven't in a really long time. What he said was a bit cheesy, but sometimes…"
Izuku nodded. "Alright, I'll give him a chance." She smiled sheepishly. "But I still ship you with All might."
Inko sighed knowingly. "Figured as much."
The next day Izuku was walking to the train station to meet up with who she was going to call Mr. Yagi for the time being. Her mother texted her while she was still at school to tell her she was allowed on the campus.
She sighed. All she knew about the place was it was a high school for future heroes. She hoped the older kids would leave her alone for being quirkless. Although, with her luck, she'd still get teased.
Another sigh left her lips as she passed under a bridge. However, she suddenly couldn't breath. She opened her eyes. A terrifying blob monster had her in it's grip and was shoving slime down her throat.
'So, this is how I die?' she was suffocating.
Her vision was getting blurry, but a yellow blob came out of nowhere and punched the slime, freeing her.
Then, she passed out.
When she came too with a cough, she couldn't believe her eyes. All Might stood before her.
"Izu- I mean citizen! Are you ok?" He seemed very concerned.
"All Might knows my name!?" she couldn't believe her ears.
He was taken aback. "You heard that?"
She blushed. "I'm a very perceptive kid."
