"I-I have to find energy." Jiaying moaned as she stumbled around the darkened city. The year was 1888 London. And she walked alone, a normal woman would be afraid for her life during the current climate of things in London. A murderer, known as Jack the Ripper was stalking the streets killing women he deemed to be prostitutes.

Jiaying was no prostitute. But she lived a life of mystery to some. She was different from most people let alone women of the day. She was an Inhuman. A subspecies of humanity created by the Kree to fight a war out in space. Leaving the test subjects behind to procreate and grow without any oversight from the Kree race. No one knew about the existence of these Inhumans. Most would have believed them to be witches or demons because of the other unique quirk about Inhumans.

She, like all Inhumans after Terrigenesis, had power. Some could fly. Others could see the future. She had even trained a young man that had lost his eyes to his Terrigenesis. Leaving him a face that looked like his flesh had never formed the eyelids that normal people had but rather smooth skin. And it also gave him the power to teleport anywhere on the planet. Her power has kept her alive for years. And not just a few decades but over a hundred years now.

But it took energy. A lot of energy. Especially during her current predicament. She was pregnant. And the baby was taking a lot of energy from her. Especially right now. Most of the Inhuman elders would sacrifice themselves to her so she could lead future generations of their kind. She hated this. Which is why she left them behind a few days before.

She didn't want to see more of the students that she had helped train give their lives to her. She wanted them to die the way she had always wished that she could. With loved ones by their sides. Not trying to keep a very old woman young and vital. She still mourned the loss of her parents a hundred years prior. She saw her siblings grow old and die. She had even fallen in love a fair few times in her long life.

And each time she would be met with the same fate. Seeing them all grow old...without her. She would never forget the look on each of her lovers' faces as they took their last breaths. She had sworn that she would never bring a child into this world only to see that child die before her eyes.

But then she met the man that changed all that. Calvin Johnson was a doctor that she had met not far from here. Every time she would think about the first time she saw him she would smile even now. But he is gone now. Not from age or becoming a dad for the first time. He wanted to stay by her side for every second of her pregnancy. But when she started to feel the hunger pains from lack of energy more than she normally did she didn't want to risk his life.

"It will all be over soon," she said to herself as she walked. She had to keep reminding herself of that. For she was due to deliver any day now. Once she had the child she was going to return to her life that she had wanted more than anything. Having a baby and a future husband she was even thinking of ways to refuse to take in more energy for the first time in her long life. She wanted to live for her family and not just for her people.

"What do we have here?" she heard a voice say. She turned around and saw a man that had a very devilish smile about him.

"I-I don't want any trouble," she mumbled trying to stay upright.

"Well, you might have found it, sweetie. Have you heard about this fellow named Jack the Ripper?" he asked with a smile.

"Y-yes," she muttered to herself thinking that she had already thought she knew where this was going...and thinking about the solution to her current problem at the same time.

"Well he is me," he said with a smile. He walked up to her walking behind her. She was waiting for her moment. She could tell that he wasn't bluffing. She had grown to be able to read people. This was the man that was Jack the Ripper. And she was going to use HIS energy to survive. All she needed was for him to touch her bare flesh and she could rid the world of this scum.

"But there is something that no one knows about me," he said as he sunk his teeth into her neck. She didn't wait for what he was about to say; she just started to drain him of his life energy. But it felt different from others somehow. As he was sucking on her neck she was sucking his energy. It was now like neither of them could stop. She expected this from herself. But why was he still sucking her neck? And why was it feeling like he was sucking out something too?

Then when she felt the last of his energy leave his body she pushed him away and he crumpled into a heap on the ground. "W-What did you do to me?" he groaned. The fact that he was still alive surprised her. But not as surprising as the fact that she felt like she was full of energy but also like she was about to die herself.

"You?" she asked, staggering back a little. "What did you do to me?" she asked woozily. Then he started to look gray like he was ash from a fireplace. Which never happened before.

"I think we both got more than we bargained for." he moaned as he let one last breath out and turned to ash before her eyes.

"What the-" she groaned as the wooziness took hold and she couldn't stand anymore. She felt hands catch her before she hit the ground.

"Don't worry I have you." she heard before she passed out.

Hours later she woke up in a bed she didn't recognize at all. She then saw the man sitting by the fire. He looked like he was cooking over that fire. He looked up at her and he smiled a sad smile at her. "Looks like you have enough energy to wake up now," he said to her.

"Who are you? What happened?" Jiaying asked.

"Jamal Afari. You are a bit different than most people aren't you, my dear?" he said to her.

"What do you mean?" she asked. She was still feeling weird. She was feeling like she was about to die...and that she had a lot of energy to burn.

"You were bitten by a vampire, and yes vampires do exist...but because of something you did, he was dusted by simply eating you. I had been hunting that vamp for days. But you killed him by getting bit. So what are you? Human? A vampire? Or something else?" he asked her.

"I-I'm an Inhuman," she said with a whisper.

"Ah. I have met a few of them. Your power has something to do with killing those who touch you?" he asked her.

"I feed off life energy...and stay young forever. But right now I feel like I am going to die." she huffed out not sure if she was going to faint again or not.

"That is probably because you are," he said to her, giving her some of the tea that he had been making. As he also took a bite of some sausage that he had been making alongside the tea.

"What?" she asked him.

"A vampire doesn't have any life energy to feed on. They are dead after all. So when you tried to feed on him while he was feeding on you...well it killed the both of you," he said looking at her.

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"Feel for your pulse," he said to her. She slowly reached down and felt for her pulse...and didn't find it.

"What the hell is going on?" she demanded.

"Well if you were normal he would have killed you by feeding off of you. That much is obvious for anyone to follow. But because you were feeding on him as he was feeding on you. That must have caused you two to both feed and drain each other. Neither of you would survive. But you had another little thing on your side." Jamal said resting a hand on her stomach.

"My baby," she said thinking about it.

"You are dead, there is no way around that. But that baby is keeping you here I believe. That is the only explanation that makes sense. The looping energy drain must have had an effect on the baby. Now the baby is keeping you alive. Once you have it you will die." he said looking at her.

"Son of a bitch." she said looking at him.

125 YEARS LATER

Daisy Johnson was walking around New York City. After the Battle of New York, it was being rebuilt heavily all over the city. She had seen the city many times and was shocked to see how it had been changed by the attack. She also was thinking about the fact that the entire world now knew that there were aliens in the universe. She had known that there were aliens of course.

She was the daughter of Jiaying. Daisy kept her mother alive for another two days before she went into labor. Jamal had to deliver the baby by himself. Jamal managed to get a hold of Calvin Johnson, Daisy's father. Calvin wanted nothing to do with her after he found out that she was affected by a vampire. An unHoly creator if there ever was one in his eyes. Daisy never blamed him for that. She hated vampires with all of her heart. Not just because of what they had taken from her but what they had done to her.

Daisy was turned into a half-human half-vampire child. She didn't have any of the powers that vampires of the world had. While she did not age like vampires, unlike vampires she didn't feed off blood. She feeds off food like normal humans. And there was the fact that she was also an Inhuman. She had those powers too. Unlike her mother, she had the power to create quakes using vibrations.

Jamal managed to get his hands on a Terrigen crystal and changed her upon her 13th birthday. He trained her to fight the vampires both with her powers and without...but she never wanted to be a vampire hunter like the man that raised her. She saw the life that would lead. Going from place to place, never settling down, finding a real home...she wanted to be part of something bigger so she took the advice of the students that her mother had trained. Keep your head down and your nose to yourself.

She had trouble with both from time to time. Like right now. She had joined a group of people that thought that information should be free. They called themselves the Rising Tide. But she only joined them because they had a good conspiracy theorist that could find vampires.

She may not want to fight vampires like her mentor and father figure. But she never wanted to let a vampire cult get too big. She knew that if that were to happen and she could have stopped it she would never forgive herself. So she needed a good source for information. She found the group when she was web searching.

She was 125 years old but she also wanted to keep up with the times. She looked like a 20somthing woman, not a woman that was older than the oldest person in any given old folks' home. So she felt like she should keep up with the "young people" as other old people might say. She found she had a knack for computers too. She was able to hack everything she wanted. "Being able to see the evolution of computers comes in handy sometimes." she would say to herself as she worked on them.

Seeing the evolution of the computer helped because there were always back doors that older computers had that no one thought would matter. Or as the developers would build on forgetting that it even existed. She was praised all the time for her knowledge of computers at the Rising Tide. Which is how she managed to get here today. The Rising Tide was hoping that she could hack some of the S.H.I.E.L.D. the tech that was used to hide the Battle of New York the way they did.

Almost overnight most of the tech from the aliens disappeared. And the Rising Tide wanted to find out how they could move that much tech so fast. Daisy was interested too. But living so much longer than them she also saw shit like this before. Like the nuclear testing done in the 40s. Everyone didn't know they were doing stuff like that until they dropped the bombs on Japan. Then the world was made aware of the power one man had over the world.

She could see that there might be more here than that hidden from people. For good or bad that is how things are run. People in charge hide things. And either that saves people from being scared twenty-four seven or hurts them when the shit hits the fans. So she didn't really care as to how they did it. But there was something in New York that did concern her.

There was a small cult of Vamps that called New York home. They never grew too big because New York was always crowded with people and cameras. Vamps had grown to love that they had fallen into lore and myth. So if they stayed that way they could kill whomever they wanted when they wanted.

But the Battle of New York happened. And they picked off some of the survivors wandering the street. Lost in a daze. That small cult became a quite big little cult. So big Daisy realized that they might just want the whole of New York given a few more years. And with the world the way it was after the Battle of New York that was the last thing that she wanted.

She needed to go in and take apart the cult. She knew how to do it and she wasn't that worried about the end result. That was until she saw a small unit enter the building with the nest. "Shit what are they doing here?" she grumbled and went up to the building.

"Okay, Simmons we need to figure out what these things are. So we need to get in, get some samples and get out." one of them said.

"You telling me you don't even know what you're fighting and you sent four people to their deaths?" Daisy demanded.

"Who are you? Get the hell out of here, this is dangerous." the man in charge said clearly thinking that Daisy was a civilian in over her head but just as he spoke a vampire dropped down from the ceiling.

"Shit," Daisy said as she jumped and kicked the vampire that would have landed on one of the two nerdy-looking people getting stuff ready for a science trip. Daisy lands on her feet but the vampire hits the wall. Daisy knows the style of this nest so she throws three wooden stakes at the points where they would jump the stragglers. Sent with such force that no normal person could have sent it.

"Thanks, mom for the powers, they work great." she joked with a smile as three bodies landed on the ground and turned to dust. She had just used her powers to send those stakes at the vamps. She didn't use her powers a lot but she was stupid if she went into a nest this size without using them.

"What the hell?" one of the science guys said seeing them explode into a dust cloud.

"Simple," Daisy grunted out as she fought off another vampire flipping him in the air and before she hit the ground sending a vibration into her back sending her forward. And back on her feet. "You idiots just walked headfirst into a vampire nest like a walking lunch special," she said, jumping into the air spinning and sending out a stream of stakes hitting every vamp that walked into the room dusting them all.

"What the hell is going on?" the guy that looked like he was the muscle demanded of Daisy. She then sent a stake past his ear and staking the vampire that was right behind him.

"I've already explained. Try and keep up." Daisy said to them.

"Who are you?" the other guy with them asked a middle-aged man. Daisy liked this man right away and knew why. She smiled as she looked at him.

"I am what these vampires call the Daywalker. While I am not a vampire I was affected by one. My mother was bitten while carrying me. It killed her but she had powers. The power to suck the life from the living. Doesn't sound like a good power and that's because it isn't. It gave her a longer life span." Daisy said as they walked deeper into the building and as they did she would send a stake every so often into the darkness and another vampire would fall and become dust.

"But the two feed off each other leaving me her unborn baby affected the most but the endless cycle of feeding. I was left unable to age past my 20th year. I am so much older than you...Coulson." she said with a smile.

"How do you know his name?" one of the science people asked.

"Because Jemma this is...was my college history professor," he said with a smile.

"You were one of my favorite students too. Then you were approached by that organization. What was its name...S.H.I.E.L.D.?" Daisy said to Coulson smiled knowing full well what the name of the organization was but not letting Coulson know who she felt about his departure from her class.

"Yes ma'am," he said.

"I would have thought that you would have a better sense than to send four men into a den," Daisy said sending four more stakes at vampires and fighting a fifth in hand to hand.

"Well, uh, we had never had any confirmation that vampires exist. Rumors and lore, yes. But no concrete proof." he said.

"Well, now you have it," Daisy said, snapping the vampire's neck and dusting him. "I have to find the Master of this nest," Daisy said, looking around.

"Like Dracula?" the male science guy said.

"Trust me you don't want to meet that guy," Daisy said.

"He's real?" the muscle said.

"No." Daisy laughed.

"So who is the Master of the nest?" Coulson asked.

"Me." they heard a voice say.

As one they turned and faced the master of the nest. A small skin man that looked like he would die if you stuck a pin in him. Daisy was in disbelief as she sent a stake at the master of the nest that was haunting the streets of New York City and watched as he was dusted. "New York almost fell to Steve Rogers' baby brother," Daisy said, kicking herself. She could feel the vampires around her fleeing sensing that their master was dead.

"So are you going to help us find more of these Professor Johnson?" he asked her.

"No," Daisy said and walked away. The muscle started to go after her but Coulson stepped in front of him.

"No. Leave her for now. If she feels comfortable leaving us, she knows that this place is safe for us." Coulson said, looking after her. "Jemma, search for more anomalies that brought us here. I know her; I'll find her again," he said, looking to where she left.
