I decided to write down this one-shot just to get it out of my head.

I do not own RWBY or Star Wars. They are the properties of their respective owners.

Enjoy!

Eight Years Ago...

He never intended for his life to bring him to any moment such as this.

Nnnnnnnnn

"Ah. Ah"

In one hand, he held the red glowing blade he had used for years. On the other hand, was the small child he had just rescued from death.

His life had changed since the day he failed his masters. They did not forgive his failure, with his direct master condemning him to guard an old Sith temple for the rest of eternity. He did not know if it was the will of the Force of pure luck that allowed for his escape, but he was grateful nonetheless. His ship had crashed on the strange world with a broken moon, but that did not bother him.

It was a world far away from the Empire. That was all that mattered to him.

Still, it was not a world without strife. He had just finished dispatching a group of scum that had attacked a village. It was unfortunate that he had arrived so late. Most of the homes were already burned, and the people were dead. All he had been able to do was avenge their spirits, allow them to pass on to the Force with retribution. He was unable to save any.

With one exception. The child in his arms.

It was a strange creature. In a world dominated by humans, this being resembled one almost entirely, with the exception of the canine ears resting atop of its head. The force-suer assumed that this difference was the reason its family was killed, and its village destroyed. Some species were so petty.

And he could already wager a guess as to why this boy was spared. It was strong in the Force. And in a world as bereft of Force-sensitives as this one, it was a miraculous find.

And perhaps a chance for the Pau'an to redeem himself. He had failed to be a Jedi. He was never able to achieve any rank among the Sith. But perhaps...

Perhaps this child would not be doomed to walk in his failed footsteps.

"Come with me little on. Let us see what I can make of you."

Menagerie Coast, Today...

Outside the main headquarters of the White Fang, a stranger was walking towards the main door. He was hidden inside a black robe, his face and body obscured by the dark fabric. The two guards on duty took notice.

"Halt!"

"Stop right there. State your business!"

The stranger did not stop walking. He kept stepping forward.

"We said- Ugh!

"Ack!"

Both guards stopped as their breathing was suddenly quenched. Both men could feel something, some invisible force, strangling their throats. The air couldn't reach their lungs. Their brains shut their bodies down, causing both guards to pass out.

The force on their throats was then immediately relinquished. The stranger had not come here to kill anyone.

He walked past the guards and towards the door. He walked inside, entering the stronghold.

Sienna Khan frowned as she wondered how her life ended up like this.

She was the leader of the White Fang. The head of the biggest and currently most influential Faunus-rights group in the world. Such a position should fill a person with a sense of power.

But she felt no power at this moment. Only frustration.

A lot of it came from a feeling of failure. As of yet, the White Fang has been unable to make any real headway in securing better rights for Faunus.

But the greatest source of her frustration used to be her greatest source of pride. Adam Taurus. A warrior, patriot, and defender.

And now a nearly insufferable pain in her ass.

For weeks now, she had nothing but problems with the way he was going about his missions. She was sending him on missions to secure intelligence and create strongholds. And he was turning all of them into headfirst assaults that ended as a bloodbath. She was starting to understand why the Bellodanna girl had left. She might leave too if she had to spend too much time with the man Adam was now.

The White Fang may have become more radical under her guide, but their mission was always to learn to exist among human society. That meant that cooperation and negotiation would be key. Something that Adam did not seem to understand.

"I asked you to steal a shipment of guns Adam. Discretely," Sienna said meticulously as she scrutinized the subordinate kneeling before her. "Why am I receiving word of two dead drivers and a shipment truck left hidden in a forest?"

Adam kept his face neutral as he answered. "Both of those humans made their intensions towards Faunus people clear. I did what I had to do."

"By killing them and leaving their bodies on the road?!"

Sienna rubbed her face as she felt her anger rising. "The point of the mission was to gain more equipment. Not adding fuel to the rumors of us being simple terrorists."

Adam stood up. His fist was shaking.

"Our mission is protecting our own people. We are supposed to make sure that the humans of the world cannot harm or discriminate against the Faunus."

"Then stop giving them more reason to fear us!" Sienna sighed as she took deeper breaths. She needed to be calm about this. "Adam, you are one of my best soldiers. One of my most dedicated followers. Why can't you work with me?"

"Because you want to appease to humans. It's a waste of time," Adam retorted bitterly. "You know why I cover my face, right?"

Sienna closed her eyes. "I have seen your scar, yes."

"Then you know the fate that awaits all of Faunuskind if we try to conciliate with humans. They will treat us like nothing more than animals and burden us."

"I understand how you feel Adam. Don't think I don't. But if we keep on this path, the only thing we will win is..."

The door to the room suddenly burst open. A guard with a lizard tail ran inside looking disgruntled. His uniform was uneven, his mask about to fall off his face.

"I'm so sorry, Great Leader. But we have an intruder!"

Sienna stood up from her chair, while Adam grabbed a hold of his sword.

"Why wasn't the intruder stopped? How did he get in?"

"We don't know ma'am. Every guard that he crossed has been-aagh!"

The guard suddenly grabbed his own throat, before passing out on the ground. From where he stood, a figure in a black cloak walked forward.

Adam and Sienna both prepared for a battle. Adam pulled out his sword while Sienna took out her chain. Both aimed at the stranger.

Both were surprised when the stranger did not even take out a weapon. He simply stopped walking and met them both.

"I am here to see Sienna Khan."

"That is me. Who are you?" Sienna kept her chain ready. She could strike at a moment's notice.

The stranger pulled back his hood, revealing his face. Sienna took a moment to study him.

He had dark skin, the kind that would come from living in a sunny environment. His eyes were an amber color, and his hair was dark and curly. And atop his head was a pair of canine ears. He was a Faunus.

And to Sienna's surprise, he looked somewhat familiar.

But Adam wasted no time on observation. He stepped closer, his sword still in hand.

"You're a Faunus? Then what sort of traitor are you?"

The stranger scrunched his face. How he did was a way Sienna could have sworn she had seen before. "Who said I was a traitor? I did not come here to fight anyone."

"Do you expect me to believe that? Who are you?"

The stranger looked away from Adam and focused his gaze on Sienna.

"My name is Anubis Ahket."

That name. That name made it click for Sienna.

"Adam. Stand down."

Adam's face contorted in both confusion and indignation.

"Sienna, he's a traitor. We shouldn't-"

"I said. Stand Down."

Sienna made no room for argument. Adam was forced to put away his sword if he didn't want the ice to get thinner between him and his leader.

Sienna made sure that Adam complied before walking closer to Anubis. She held up her hand to make sure that no one stopped her. Her steps ended when she was face to face with the jackal Faunus.

"Anubis? Is it really you?"

Anubis smiled at her. A genuine closed-mouth smile.

"Hi, auntie."

Sienna enveloped her nephew in a tight hug. Anubis softly returned it.

Sienna pulled her back, her eyes filled with both tears and confusion.

"But- I thought you were dead. Everyone did. You've been gone for so long."

"I know," Anubis said silently. The smile had already left his face.

"What about your parents? My sister? Are they...?"

Anubis shook his head. That was all the confirmation Sienna needed.

She started ruffling her nephew's hair.

"You've grown so much. You look like your father," Sienna uttered with a smile. "Where have you been all this time?"

"It's a long story. One I would like to keep private," Anubis said. His eyes were shifting towards Adam. Sienna nodded back.

"We will talk more later Adam. You are dismissed."

Adam's eyes shot up.

"What? But-"

"Adam. I need to talk with my nephew. We will discuss your conduct later."

Adam wanted to argue, but's Sienna's tone made it clear that she would not listen. So he sheathed his sword and stormed out the door. Slamming it behind him.

"He seems pleasant."

Sienna sighed. "Don't remind me."

Sienna led Anubis towards the center of the room.

"Now. What's this about a story?"

Anubis cleared his throat. This could take a while to explain.

"I suppose I should start with what happened after the fire."

"How long has it been since then? Seven years?" Sienna asked.

"Eight," Anubis corrected his aunt. "I was nine when it happened. It has been a while auntie."

"I thought you were dead Anubis," Sienna ruffled her nephew's hair. It was just as soft and scruffy as she remembered. "We found your parent's bodies. But we never found yours."

Anubis lost his smile. He didn't like thinking about what had happened all those years ago. "You were holding out hope?"

Sienna sighed. "I tried not to. But I liked to think that I still had some family. Somewhere."

"Well, I'm here now."

"Yes. You are," Sienna said as she settled into her chair. Anubis stayed standing, looking at the throne she sat on. "But why now? If you've been alive for eight years, why only come out now?"

"I almost wasn't able to," Anubis said, his head shaking. "After... what happened with my parents, I was found by someone. He saw something in me and took me on as an apprentice. I've spent all this time learning all I could under him."

Sienna frowned. "An apprentice? Of what sort?"

Anubis sighed. "I'm afraid I can't tell you."

Sienna frowned "Why not? Can you not trust me?"

"You're my aunt. Of course, I trust you. But there are two reasons I can't tell you."

Motioning with her hand, Sienna told her nephew to explain.

"The first reason is that my master is a bit of an isolationist. He only took me in because he saw potential in me. He mostly avoids other people altogether," Anubis explained. "The second reason is part of the deal I made. He didn't want me to come here originally, but I wore him down. But one of the conditions was that I not share his secrets or disclose any information about him."

Sienna was slightly concerned by that. She wasn't sure she approved of this description of the person that had been raising her nephew for nearly a decade. She was grateful that he had been saved and educated, but she didn't know what sort of education he received. Or anything about the person who gave it to him.

"Can you tell me anything about him? Was he human, or a Faunus?"

Anubis smirked. "He had very sharp teeth."

Sienna frowned. It wasn't much of an answer, but she didn't think she would be getting much more today. At least the master sounded like a Faunus. Maybe a shark Faunus? She knew some with fangs.

"Is that all you can say?"

"Afraid so," Anubis admonished with a shake of his head. "I intend to go back to him for teachings at some point. I'd rather not go back and start some animosity between us."

"I can understand that," Sienna admitted. She didn't like going behind others' backs. "Can you tell me anything about what he taught you?"

"A little bit. And I can do you one better too," Anubis said with a smirk. His hand went gliding down to his belt. "I can also tell you why I came here to you."

Sienna waited for him to do so. Anubis took in a deep breath, preparing himself for what would inevitably be a long conversation.

"There is a bigger reason why I'm here auntie. It has to do with the White Fang."

Sienna frowned. She hadn't been expecting a family reunion to turn like this.

"What do you mean?"

"There are two reasons I came back, despite my master's concerns. Two things I came to do. One is joining the White Fang."

Sienna's eyes widened for a moment. She supposed it wasn't a dramatic request.

"And what is your second request?"

"The second thing is not a request, but a goal. I want to help you clean up the organization."

Sienna's face deepened into a frown. "What do you mean by clean up Anubis?"

"The White Fang was meant to be an organization that fights for the rights of Faunus. But lately, it's lost sight of its mission. It's become what the humans call it. A terrorist organization."

"Anubis, trust me. I know what the media is saying. But I assure you..."

"Auntie, I do trust you. What I don't trust is the splinter cell."

"Splinter cell?"

Anubis rotated his head to observe the room. They were alone. But they might not be safe.

"I think this discussion might be best held in private."

Sienna had to agree with her nephew. She could understand that some of her subordinates might have trouble with her trusting Anubis so soon. So their conversation might be better held in private than in her throne room.

"Follow me."

Sienna led Anubis outside the room and towards her personal office. As they walked, Anubis could see some of the guards keeping their eyes on him. They did not take kindly to how he had come inside. And they were confused as to why Sienna was allowing him to walk freely.

The two of them walked inside an office, with Sienna closing the door behind them.

"You were saying something about a splinter cell?' Sienna said as she sat at her desk. "What are you talking about?"

Anubis sat on a chair at the other side of the desk. He reached inside his black robe and pulled out a file. A file he left on the desk.

"This."

Sienna, though she had her skepticism, took the file and opened it. Her eyes widened at what she saw. Weapon shipments. Backstreet deals. Bribes.

And Adam was in the center frame for many of the pictures.

"What is this?"

"It's what I found after a few weeks of spying," Anubis informed her. "I've been following Taurus for a while now. These are only the things I could catch him doing."

Sienna turned her wide eyes back to the photos. Not only was Adam there, but so were other members of the White Fang. Member she knew of. They were all working with known criminals. Including one thief that was known across the world.

"Is that- Roman Torchwick?"

"Yeah. I don't know why yet, but Adam's cell is working with him. They're stealing dust all over Vale, for some reason." Anubis scratched the back of his head. "I don't know why that's their goal. I don't even know why they're working together. All I've managed to find out is that they're working for someone else."

"Who?"

"Not sure yet. No one has said a name. And I haven't had a chance to get close to any of them to question."

"Question? Anubis, what do you think you're doing? You're not a Huntsman. You're not a law officer. You're not even a White Fang member. Why are you following them around?!"

She may not have seen him for years, but Anubis was her nephew. The last thing she wanted was to see him in unnecessary danger. She thought he was dead for a long time, gone with her sister and brother-in-law after a fire.

Anubis simply held up his hand. "Don't worry auntie. My training covered a lot of areas. I know how to not be seen. And besides, it would be embarrassing to come here and ask for a job without a resume."

Sienna frowned. "A job? I thought you wanted to help the White Fang."

"I do. And I think that the best way to do that is by helping you," Anubis explained. "Adam's splinter cell is a threat to your authority. If he keeps gaining influence and taking power from criminal organizations, he might just use that power against you."

Anubis sat back to be comfortable in his chair. "I may not have heard your argument, but I could tell that Taurus doesn't agree with your stance. He seems the kind to relish battles. He probably wants a war with humans."

Sienna had to admit, her nephew was certainly observant. She tried her best to keep her hostility with Taurus a secret from the rest of the Fang. She didn't need her followers to know that she and her best warrior often ended their discussion in an argument. That sort of friction could trickle out to the rest of the organization. And a broken White Fang could potentially lead to a weaker defense for the Faunus

"Let's say this is true. What of it?" Sienna asked. "What can I do about this? Even if Adam Taurus is conspiring against me, I can't exactly get rid of him. He is far too popular with the more determined members of the White Fang. And if these photos are accurate, he already has his own followers. I dread to think of what he could do with his own army to call on."

"So do I. That's why I'm here," Anubis said. "I have a plan to get rid of Taurus. We might even be able to compromise the criminals he is working with."

Sienna raised a brow. She hadn't expected a family reunion to end like this, but her interest was piqued.

"Let's say I hear you out? What would we win out of this?"

"The obvious is getting rid of Taurus. And that might be even better than you think," Anubis. said. "Think about it, how would the White Fang normally look if it exiled one of its members?"

"Not very good. We would seem like hypocrites to the Faunus community."

"But what if that member was an incredibly dangerous terrorist?"

Sienna raised a brow. "We would need proof."

"Understandable. But once we get proof, what do you think the reaction would be to expelling such an individual?"

Sienna sat back in her chair. "Enlighten me."

Anubis smiled. "Getting rid of someone like that would help in two areas. Weeding out corruption and garnering sympathy."

Sienna gave her nephew an intrigued look. "Explain."

"Let's start with corruption. Depending on where they stand, every other member of the organization will have a different reaction to seeing someone like Taurus thrown out. And there is one group in particular who would be the most vocally offended at Taurus being exiled."

Sienna waited for a moment until he explained.

"Faunus supremacists. The people we don't need."

Sienna's eyes widened. That wasn't the answer she had been expecting.

"The point of the White Fang is to defend the Faunus and establish a dialogue for better rights with humans. We can't do that with people who think they are better simply because of biology. Or people like Taurus, who probably just enjoy fighting."

Sienna bit her lip as she considered her nephew's points. They weren't bad points. In fact, he was making a lot of sense. While Faunus supremacists likely made up a large part of their base, they were unlikely to be very helpful in the long run. Stamping them out would actually help Sienna with her long-term goals. But she still needed more information.

"You had another point?"

"Yes. Weeding out unnecessary members would also gain the White Fang something they require. Human allies."

Sienna frowned. She understood the value of human allies, but how would they be gaining them.

"Think about it. If we get rid of and denounce Faunus supremacists, it would mean the organization is faithful to its original ideals. Crafting a world where the Faunus and humans can live peacefully. Without the need to fight each other."

Anubis leaned in closer.

"Getting rid of Taurus and those like him would mean getting rid of terrorists. And getting rid of terrorists would mean endearing ourselves to the humans, and making more of them more likely to take our side. They would know we aren't bloodthirsty monsters. That we have standards. That we will tick to ideals and actually fight for equality. Not supremacy."

Sienna sighed as she sat back in her chair to absorb everything her nephew had thrown at her.

She wanted to just say yes and hear his plan. Not just because he was her nephew and she wanted him around, but because he was right. If everything he said were true, then Adam would be nothing more than a liability. And the splinter cell he was allegedly creating would create nothing more than chaos soon.

But there would also be massive risks involved. She couldn't just get rid of Taurus. Much of the White Fang's number and strength came from him. He was a person who could rally the abused and disenfranchised Faunus to his side. He knew how to talk to them even better than Sienna did. Getting rid of him would be costly for the White Fang.

Going along with that was the fact that the splinter cell he had under him would not disappear. If anything, they would likely come to serve him directly. And if Adam Taurus had his own group to rival the White Fang, the goal of Faunus prosperity might never be realized.

As much as she used to respect Adam, his inability to compromise or accept half-victories would only lead to his downfall. And he might just bring the Faunus down with him if they weren't careful.

Sienna faced Anubis directly. Their equally amber eyes met.

"What exactly is your plan? I need to know the details before I can approve or reject it."

Anubis smirked. He had a feeling he had already won.

"First thing to know is that I'll need to go to Vale.'

Sienna frowned. Vale was one of the most tolerant places in the world towards Faunus, second only to Vacuo. While there were some problems in Vale, she couldn't think of any reason to focus on that Kingdom.

"Why Vale?"

"Because that's where Taurus is going to be," Anubis said, pointing to one of the photos from the files. It was a photo that showed Taurus talking to Torchwick. Crates of dust were being moved behind them. "I don't know all the details, but the people Taurus is working with are all based in Vale right now. And they're planning something that requires a lot of dust. The best place for me to keep an eye on them is in the same Kingdom."

It wasn't a bad plan. Sienna already knew that Adam would be moving to the Kingdom next week for a self-appointed mission. He had told her that he would be fighting back to ensure that anti-Faunus groups did not gain a platform there. Some of her own advisors had confirmed Adam's claims.

Sienna focused on her nephew.

"If I send you out, if, how do I know you'll be alright? I can't just send you out have you caught or killed. They could trace you back to me, which would put my leadership in question. Sending my own nephew to spy on a subordinate would not look good for me."

Anubis smiled.

"I've been trained in espionage auntie. I know how to move without being seen. All I would need in Vale is a cover."

"Do you have one?"

"Yes. And as for being killed..."

Anubis reached into his cloak and pulled something out. It was a metal cylinder. A long silver one, with switches built into the side.

"What is that?" Sienna asked.

"My weapon."

Sienna frowned. It didn't look like a weapon. It was too small to be a baton, and it didn't seem to have a firearm component.

"Let me show you."

Anubis pressed a switch on the side of the hilt. And as a golden light glowed in Sienna's face, she began to see the validity in her nephew's plan.

Anubis spent hours discussing his plan with Sienna. He and his aunt needed to make sure the details were ironed out before she would even consider sending him out. But now they had a plan. All that was left was to complete.

Sienna had offered him a room in the compound, but he had to turn it down. For the plan to move smoothly, he would need to stay somewhere else. Luckily, he already had a place in Menagerie ready. He did promise his aunt to call though.

Exiting the room, Anubis was displeased but not surprised to see Adam Taurus standing outside. He supposed he had better finish this encounter quickly.

"Taurus," Anubis said civilly.

The bull Faunus did not return the greeting. He instead waited for Anubis to close the door before walking straight up to him. Their faces were now uncomfortably close.

"Listen here Ahket," Taurus spat. "I don't know what game you're playing, but you had better stop before you get in my way."

"I don't know what you mean," Anubis responded calmly. That seemed to only infuriate Taurus even more.

"Don't play games with me."

"I wasn't."

"And don't play dumb," Taurus said as he punched the wall beside Anubis. If his goal was to intimidate the jackal Faunus, he did not succeed. "I don't know why Sienna is suddenly trusting you, but you broke your way in by taking down White Fang guards. Do you honestly expect to join us?"

"The choice in that matter isn't up to you. It is up to my aunt."

Taurus did not take those words calmly. Anubis doubted that he took anything calmly. The horned fighters breathe as now ragged and quick. His other hand was inching nearer to his sword.

"Give me one reason I shouldn't kill you now and get rid of a problem."

"For one, my aunt would be upset," Anubis stated factually. "As for the other reason..."

Anubis waved two fingers across Taurus's face. He sported a small smile of delight as he watched the angry boy's face soften and his jaw slack. His anger was gone. Replaced with submission.

"You are going to forget that we ever met. The events of tonight will be erased from your memory. Is that clear?"

"Yes," Taurus mindlessly droned. He would have no choice but to forget Anubis. And that would make completing the mission even easier.

"You can go on now."

Anubis watched as the bull Faunus walked away. His body lacked the angry energy it usually had. And he likely wouldn't regain that energy back until Anubis was gone. Speaking of which...

The jackal-eared spy smiled as he made his own way outside the compound. He pulled his hood back up to hide his face. But while his eyes were covered, the smile on his lips was still visible.

"I've always wanted to try that trick."

Adam fumed as he stormed across the halls of the hideout. he had been lightheaded only moments before, but now his mind was clear. And his anger was present.

Nothing had been going his way lately.

He was already forced into submission on both ends, serving both the Fall woman and Sienna.

The Fall woman had strong-armed him into working with human criminals. He didn't even mind the criminal aspect, he was just mad that humans were forcing him to work for them.

And that was to say nothing of his other limiter. Sienna Khan. He used to respect her. To think she was a better fit to lead the White Fang in Ghira's place. But she was just as weak as he was, unable to make the hard choices necessary to ensure that the Faunus survived. But nowadays, he was seeing her as what she was. A coward that was unwilling to do what was necessary. An obstacle he needed to remove.

And then there was Blake's betrayal a few weeks prior. Adam was starting to think he had misjudged the girl. He thought that she was a warrior, someone who was willing to do what was necessary for the Faunus. But maybe she was more like her father than Adam thought. Maybe she was just as weak and ineffective as Ghira had been.

But none of that mattered. Adam would win in the end. The humans could plot their schemes, he had his own goals.

And nothing would stand in his way.

Weeks Later

Anubis smiled as he looked up at Beacon Academy. It was a school that was dedicated to training Huntsmen. The protectors of making who fought back against the forces of Grimm. They were meant to give hope to the common people. Hope that they would be safe, and hope that the future could be saved.

And this school would be the place where his mission would take place. A mission he and his aunt had agreed on. Anubis stood at the school's entrance, his cloak now gone. For clothes, he wore a red shirt, gray pants, a black vest with a hood, and a black belt. He kept his weapon hidden inside the vest.

Anubis turned away and started walking to the right. The students would be arriving soon, and it might be best for him to be out of the way. Also, the way to the maintenance desk was on the right, according to the directions he had received. And it would best for him to arrive soon.

He had a job interview today. And punctuality was important, as his master and aunt had told him. Best to get the mission started soon.

Like I said at the start, this is just an idea I had for a one-shot. Let me know if you guys think I should continue this.

If I did continue this, it would not be like a lot of stories I have seen in this fandom. For starters, Anubis would not be a student of Beacon Academy. I think I made that clear with the ending. He is a character with his own goals and autonomy. The only person he will answer to is his unnamed master and his aunt.

Speaking of his master, I am guessing you have ideas as to who he is. I'm willing to hear your opinions on that.

Anyway, please leave reviews, tell me what you think, and I will see you all next time.

Bye!
