Chapter 1

Silent. Still. Breath in. Breath out. Squeeze the trigger. Target down. Only the slight rustle of a leaf gave away the position of the sniper. If anyone aimed for that spot however they would be met with nothing but air. Positions were changed and shots were fired faster than anyone could see. He did let some targets be taken out by outside forces. Pretty soon it was just the sniper with a metal arm and a single remaining target. Where are you? You can't hide forever. You'll give yourself away soon. I can wait. I've been doing this far longer than you. He didn't have to wait long before the sound of a twig snapping behind him made him lift his gaze away from his scope. He couldn't turn around fast enough though. There was a silent pew and a pain on the back of is head. Kill shot.

Bucky dropped his head to the ground before rolling over to look at his son, standing there with a paintball gun still pointed at him.

"Where did you learn to move so quietly?" The 9 year old just grinned.

"Aunt Nat." Bucky groaned.

"Out assassined by a ballerina and a 9 year old."

"You're just getting old!" Tanner held his hand out for his dad and helped him up. Well as much as you can help up a super soldier. Bucky threw his arm around the boy after picking up his own paintball gun.

"How did you know where I was?"

"I've been watching you play with Uncle Steve and Uncle Tony for years. I know your secret hiding spots!"

"I think that's cheating. Who else did you get?"

"Uncle Clint. But he's always in the trees. You really can't miss him. I almost got Aunt Nat too but I think Uncle Steve got her first." They walked out of the arena and met up with everyone else.

"Who shot who?" Steve asked grinning. Bucky turned around to show off the teal paint splat on the back of his mask before pulling the fabric off.

"Shot in the head by my own kid!" There was laughing from everyone and a round of 'congratulations' and 'fun game' while they all walked into the changing room. Tanner seemed to be the first one done. He checked Bucky's phone when it dinged before looking up at his dad who was still wiping dirt and sweat off his face.

"Dad." Bucky looked over at him. "You might want to hurry."

"What's up kid?"

"The twins are on their way!" Bucky tossed the towel to the side and snatched up his shirt before running out the door and going straight to medical. He came to a stop right outside the doors before gently pushing inside.

"Bucky!" Nik smiled at him and held out her hand. He rushed to her side before taking it. She squeezed it before breathing through another contraction.

"Hey doll." He stroked her forehead and then looked up at the doctor. "How long has she been here already?"

"About an hour."

"And no one came to get me?"

"I knew you weren't going to be too much longer." Nik said quietly beside him. "You're here now. That's all that matters."

In less than an hour Bucky was holding his newborn twins! James Grant and Jocelyn Elizabeth Barnes! James had a head of thick dark curls while Jocelyn's hair was just a few shades lighter but still as thick and curly. They were perfect and Bucky was in love!

"I made these?" He looked up at Nik while she smiled at him.

"You sure did!" It was a few moments later that the door opened and in popped two heads. Nik and Bucky smiled at their older children who were super eager to meet their younger siblings. Tanner of course promised security to his baby Jocey and told baby Jamie all the things he couldn't wait to do with him and their dad.

"Jamie, we are surrounded by women! Us three men need to stick together and protect these ladies! And don't worry buddy, I'll show you where dad hides during paintball!" Bucky chuckled while watching his oldest son coo over the new additions to their family. He glanced over at Nik and had to wipe away the tears.

"Bucky what's wrong?"

"Nothing! Everything is perfect! I just wish my parents were here. Or my sisters."

"I know Bucky. I do too."

"I wouldn't change this for anything though! I have an amazing wife and four beautiful kids! I don't think it gets much better than this."
