Chapter 1

Summer Year 852

Flegel Reeves, the owner of the Reeves company who was tasked in rebuilding the Shiganshina District, was going through some papers. Said papers were requesting the allocation of 5,000 citizens from the underground city of Chika all said citizens would be forgiven of their crimes, but any crimes committed in shiganshina district and others they will be given the appropriate punishment like others.

Flegel was about to sign said papers to allow the people in shiganshina but one of his employees ran into his study room.

He looked up "Is something wrong Mr. Heinz?"

"Mr. Reeves! It's urgent!" The employee said

"What is it? Have there been any problems with reconstruction?" The chubby man said.

"I-it's hard to say some sort of gate appeared in the town square . The garrison is currently on stand by with anti personnel and anti titan gear. They think it's probably Marley but we don't know!" The Reeves employee said.

Flegel got up from his seat "Has the garrison begun evacuations yet?" Flegel asked.

The employee responded "No sir not yet but they are planning on evacuating the-"

"Screech!" They heard a loud screech like it was nothing before. Then the sound of a war horn being blown.

"What was that?!"

5 minutes earlier Shiganshina District, town square

Henry Guenther recently graduated from the Cadet Corp, he wanted to get into the military police but he couldn't score in the top ten so he chose the next safest option: the garrison. He was hoping to get stationed near the Stohess district but he got stationed at Shiganshina instead. He didn't mind but he was a little annoyed at that but the military chose where to station you at so he couldn't complain. He decided to go on patrol and actually do his job unlike his friends who just drink and are doing about all day.

A commotion began to happen. People began to gather at the city center. He wanted to get a better view so he aimed his stock handles at a rooftop and pulled the trigger. The cable latched on to the roof top and pulled him towards his target, he felt the acceleration of him being pulled forward and within seconds he was on the roof.

Looking over the town's square it was still being cleaned up with houses still damaged from the titan invasion 7 years ago. But nonetheless still a lively place but something was there he hadn't seen before. A monolith-like structure that looked ancient like the roman empire an ancient empire that is long gone. He read about them from books imported from Hizuru From what he read and they were scared of the old Eldian empire which was understandable, When ever an eldian king came by the roman emperor and his nobles were thinking of ways to appease the eldian king. But Eldia was only interested in trade granted either eldia had no way of getting across the mediterranean despite the fact they got to south america. But none of that. He then jumped down after getting a good look at the structure, He then walked up to another soldier "hey! Do you know what's happening?" He asked another soldier.

"No I don't know this structure just appeared out of nowhere," he said.

Some more Garrison soldiers came this time with rifles and horses. "All right everyone back away from the structure we do not know what's on the other side. There could be titans for all we know!" He yelled the people not wanting to die from the unknown obediently backed away allowing the soldiers through. Some more soldiers came by with both variants of the 3D ODM gear,unfortunately no soldiers came with thunder spears, a shipment should be coming by tomorrow. Then the sound of boots marching could be heard. Then some soldiers with antique weapons came out of the structure. A person with flashy armour only that he could assume was the leader of this army walked on a majestic horse which mind you nearly made him vomit at the sight of so much wasted money which could be of better use. But he was able to keep it under control.

His captain came by on his horse which wasn't as majestic as the man in gold. "Identify yourself! What is the meaning of this," he demanded.

The man in gold became pissed off at his captain for merely speaking?

"Mbyll gojën o barbar!"

Henry's captain drew his swords. And then a shot rang out.

Henry immediately drew his swords and fired a cable at an enemy soldier latching on to him he then dragged said soldier towards him and sliced him. He then got out of there to escort civilians towards the district's gate leading further into the walls.

"Screech!"

Then a flying lizard came out of the structure where the invading army came from.

"Get the civilians out of here!" One soldier yelled out.

"Do we have explosive shells!" Another soldier yelled out.

"Where are our thunder spears!"

It seemed hopeless but if they held them off long enough for more troops to arrive then all would be good right?

The soldiers with anti-personnel gear were hitting them from a distance and using the mobility advantage they had to avoid enemy fire. Some soldiers hid on the roof tops and fired at the flying lizards mounts causing said lizards to lose control of their flight without their master mounted on them. The ones equipped with anti-titan odm gear were forced to either enter hand to hand combat with swords or man cannons. The ones that entered hand to hand combat more or less couldn't get through the invaders armour but that didn't stop them from cutting their arms and heads off when possible.

"Give people time to evacuate!" Henry was escorting civilians towards the gate. He fired a rifle given to him by one of his friends when they heard the structure open.

"BANG!" His rifle fired, then chambered another round back into the barrel by pulling back the action thing?

When he finally arrived at the gate. Civilians were already being funneled outside along with reinforcements from nearby river towns. Cannons hadn't been firing but were brought out to protect the gate to prevent them from funneling out

"Where's the survey Corp!" An officer yelled at a soldier.

"They're at the port that has recently finished their current meeting up with some diplomats from this nation called Hizuru. I don't know what that means but they are in some important business. For now we should be okay as long as we get supplies and reinforcements from Trost," The soldier reported.

Then a fat man came running through the gate towards the officers. The man in question was Flegel Reeves. He was panting heavy.

The soldiers who were caught off guard by this "Mr-mr. Reeves' what are you doing here you should've evacuated earlier?" The officer yelled.

"I *Weeze!* I know it's just that the building I was staying in was nearly pillaged. I saw the invaders enslaving, and killing people so it was difficult to escape. *Weeze!* Instead I let people inside of the building, and some soldiers came by and they covered our escape," He said while catching his breath.

"Calm down, take a seat and catch your breath. Have some water we will do our job so you can do what you were tasked to do. But that will have to wait. So they are enslaving people, and murdering people without restraint," The soldier said while the businessmen accepted his offer.

The Captain lost his cool at that. He then punched a wooden beam making a small crack in the wooden beam.

"Damn those barbarians!"

"Yes I know, but we shouldn't let anger overwhelm ourselves,"

They looked around and found where the voice was coming from.

"First the warriors from Marley breaking down Wall Maria, and then this. Can't us Eldians in these walls of ours live in peace like we did for a century before Marley sent their warriors to come and take our lands and our peace," he sighed. He opened his flask and took a large gulp from it.

"Com-commander Pixis, what are you doing here, you shouldn't be here, you should be at the capital?" The captain questioned.

"Actually I was supposed to leave one day from now and go along with the diplomats from Hizuru, to the Capital, i was also here to overlook some defences to at least hold off an invasion from the world if not by the military some time to relocate and spread out their forces, so they don't get trampled by the colossal titans that are in these walls," The old commander responded.

"I see," The Captain responded.

"But for now we mustn't stand around and do nothing. We did tell the people we would protect them right,"

Before you guys kill me for ending so abruptly I didn't know how to continue after introducing Dot Pixis so I will leave this here so I can gather my thoughts. thanks for taking your time reading this!
