Seeing how impressive the Last Kids on Earth has done, I decided to continue on it. And I found the perfect one.
Fresh air. That was when Peter and his friends came back from the marriage of Newton and Unikitty.
"I sure am going to miss the little troublemakers," Aiden said.
"We can still visit them anytime." The Writer pointed out.
Everyone gave several nods. Surely they can go back, right?
Karin then turned to Peter. "So about that thing you did Peter? To them?"
Peter didn't look at them. He didn't say anything. The group just shrugged it off and made quick jokes and remarks. As the group walked home, they crossed paths with the four boys just getting some drinks from a vending machine.
"What's up with him?" Cartman asked.
"Not sure," Johnson added.
As Peter trudged up to the machine, it made a jingle noise.
"Would you like a refresher?"
Peter gave a cold look back.
"...Sometimes, they can help."
Peter's fist clenched as he was sent into pure rage. Within seconds, the soda machine was no more as money and soda fell out. A horrified crowd filmed his actions without his knowledge or consent.

Detention. Jack Sullivan wished he could've brought his homework today. But being the slacker he is, he got another detention. It sucked too. Today was his birthday. Now fourteen years of age, Jack finally felt like a new person. Right after he got out of detention of course.
"Look at your watch. Look at your watch." Jack muttered.
The supervisor looked at her watch.
"Oops! Time to go class!"
Yes! Jack exploded out of his chair and sprinted out the door. He quickly got on his bike and headed to Joe's Pizza. A place where every cool kid hung out. Cheap and five-star quality food and drink, award-winning arcade games, talented chefs, with monsters and humans alike as employees.
"Hello, Jack!" A fish-like tentacle monster greeted. "What would you like today?"
"Today's my birthday, and I would like the birthday special," Jack remarked.
"Coming right up!"
One large Super Supreme pizza, a two-liter CrushDew, twenty buffalo wings, and a large cookie cake sat on Jack's birthday corner. Jack quickly texted his friends.
In a flash, all of his friends arrived. His adoptive brother Quint Baker, school bully-turned friend and ally Dirk Savage, and tomboyish June Del Toro. Or almost all of his friends.
"Where's June?" Jack asked.
Quint chewed his pizza. "No clue."
"She's probably not hungry," Dirk said, grabbing June's share.
"Dirk!" Jack called out.
Before Dirk could eat June's slice of pizza, Quint got a text on his phone.
"Guys, June wants us to meet her at the antique store."
"Why there?" Dirk said.
"She has a cool present for Jack."
"June!"
The school reporter found her three friends all meeting up with her.
"So what about the present?" Dirk asked.
"That!"
A dusty old book sat on a shelf anyone can reach.
"A book? Come on, you can do better than that!" Jack said. "Why can't it be a new video game?"
"That thing is a bestiary! Jack can identify monsters with it!"
"Ok, you got my attention," Quint said.
"It has every monster in the book. And we all know how much Jack loves monsters!"
"I'm sold!" Dirk said.
"Come on Jack, this would make a great gift!" June persuaded.
Jack was thrilled. "Count me in."
Quietly, the group snuck into the store and grabbed the book without anyone noticing.
By 7 pm, the group arrived at the park.
"Okay, this is the perfect spot," June said. "Can you give me the book?"
Jack handed June the bestiary. Now he was confused. "So now what?"
June assured Jack. "I'll read it."
Muttering strange words that sounded like Greek or Latin, June turned the page to a mysterious woman with bird-like feet. The group waited until June was finished.
"What was that?" Jack asked.
"That thing in the book?" June turned. "That being is Lilith. The book is written in Hebrew."
"Oh, I thought you were speaking Latin."
"Only thing I know about Latin is pig Latin," Dirk replied.
"So, who's Lilith?"
"A shape-shifter. She can look like a beautiful young woman or an ugly old witch."
"Cool."
June checked her watch.
"It's getting late now. We have to go home."
June handed the book back to Jack.
"Happy birthday, Jack." June pecked.
The birthday boy blushed.
"Ooo!" Dirk and Quint teased.
The group went their separate ways.
Jack awoke with a media warning on his phone.
"Ugh..."
Jack ignored the warning. Dumb child missing alerts happen a lot. As he stumbled his way to the bathroom, he changed into his clothes and brushed his teeth. Since today was Saturday, there wasn't any good stuff on TV until 9 am. So he flipped for the news.
"At this time, authorities are asking civilians to stay indoors-"
Jack changed the channel.
"-as an increasing number of reports are-"
Jack changed the channel.
"-People are literally-"
"-falling onto the streets-"
Jack was confused. Surely they stopped the apocalypse?
"Special Forces are doing whatever they can to end the new outbreak. It seems that the end of the outbreak of Wakefield was only temporary."
Jack raced to Quint's room. Quint was there, on his computer, equally as shocked.
"Jack, are we..."
"We're in the apocalypse! Again!"
After a bunch of panicking, the two finally calmed down.
"Call June and Dirk! Tell them to get their parents and meet at the treehouse." Jack asked.
"Uh, we don't have a treehouse anymore." Quint pointed out.
"Then we head to Joe's Pizza!"
Quint raced for his phone and dialed their numbers.
Jack and Quint arrived at Joe's pizza. Quickly, they barricaded the front and back doors with chairs and tables.
"Should we also barricade the windows?" Quint asked.
As Jack collected more wood planks, he saw familiar faces.
"June and Dirk!"
The two quickly let them in. Instantly, the two friends noticed a third face.
"Who's she?" Jack asked.
"My sister," Dirk said. "Meet Quinn."
"Hello," Quinn said.
"You had a sister? Dang."
"So what do we do here?" June asks.
"We do what we do last time!" Quint said. "Cure the apocalypse! Thankfully, I have a vial of the cure in my pocket."
Quint brought out the vial of the cure the group used to cure the last zombie apocalypse they had.
"Shouldn't we... mass produce it?" June asks. "I mean, one vial isn't enough."
"But ah!" Quint countered. "Thanks to the power of science, anyone who comes into contact with an individual with the cure in their bloodstream will be cured instantly!"
Quint walked outside to the nearest zombie and gave out the cure. Nothing happened.
"Why didn't it work?"
And with that, the zombie knocked Quint down. Jack ran up and knocked it away with his aluminum baseball bat. The two went back inside.
"Why didn't it work?" Dirk asked.
"Maybe the zombies are different," June said.
"Then how do we solve this problem, OH MY GOD WERE ALL GONNA DIE!" Quint screamed.
June snapped Quint from his screaming.
"Do we have a radio? Maybe the government can help?" Dirk suggested.
Jack found a radio and spare batteries in the supply closet. He quickly turned it to the nearest channel.
"Authorities are now encouraging civilians to head to the Wakefield Police Department and wait there for further instructions."
"Bingo," Quinn said.
Duct tape wrapped around their exposed flesh, their weapons sharpened and refined, the five survivors walked out single file. Wakefield was back in ruins. Jack was first, June was second, Quinn was third, Quint was fourth, and Dirk was last.
"Where are your parents?" Jack asked.
Quint groaned. "I told you man, travel agency."
"Not you, June and Dirk."
"Work," June said.
"We just live with our mom," Quinn said. "She's out on a babysitting job."
"So work."
"Pretty much."
A pair of binoculars aimed over the group.
Believe it or not, the group made it to the police station without any zombie encounters.
"Let's go," Jack whispered.
The survivors rushed their way to the police station. Loud honking and engines running stopped them. A large oil truck came barreling towards them.
"Look out!" Jack screamed.
In a flash, the group split in two with Quint, Quinn, and Dirk near the police station and Jack and June blocked by a crashed oil truck.
"You okay?" Dirk shouted.
"Yes! We'll find another way across!" Jack shouted back.
"Um, guys..." Quinn said.
Oil started leaking from the truck.
"RUN!" Quint shouted.
Within seconds of the group backing away, the truck exploded into flames. A flaming body crawled out and approached from Quint's side. June stared in shock at the burning truck.
"June, we got to go!" Jack shouted. "To the back!"
June snapped out of her state and followed Jack. The two then made their way around the police station.
"Freeze, suckers!"
The two froze. An armed biker gang backed the two against a wall.
"Please, we're just kids!" Jack begged.
"Shut up!"
Jack was slapped in the face. June was kicked in the knee. The biker gang checked the two for supplies.
"No food."
"Damn. Wrap them up."
Jack and June were tied and gagged in front of the gang leader's eyes.
"I'm gonna give you a chance to live."
A still gagged-up Jack was brought to their leader's face. With his hands now untied, the leader gave Jack a handgun.
"This girly girl is brown-skin. She doesn't belong in this town. Or this country or anything."
June pleaded for her life, but her voice became muffled behind her gag.
"You shoot her, you're free to go."
An unknown assailant peaked around the corner. It made sure that its assault rifle was fully loaded and the slide was prepared. It watched as Jack was forced to not aim the gun at the gang members.
"Shoot you bastard!"
*click*
"Ooh, so close. You almost had it." The gang leader teased.
Jack was shoved down with June.
"Don't worry, you'll live." A gang member reassured.
"It's the real-time. The time to be alive!" A gang member cheered.
All of the gang members fired their shots in the air once to signify their group. At the same time, another loud crack came in the air. Blood splattered all over Jack as a gang member collapsed with a bullet hole on his brain. The gang member turned to find a hooded teenage assailant holding a gun.
"Fire!" The gang leader shouted.
The gang members returned fire. The teen shot the gang leader in the chest, it quickly shot another in the neck and another by the hip. The last two gang members were sent into retreat. The assailant shot one of the two in the back. It was too late to chase the last gang member. Hearing the gang leader cough out blood, it approached him with a handgun.
"Wait... wait..." He grunted.
"Fuck you."
*BLAM* *BLAM* *BLAM*
Jack and June froze at the familiar voice. The assailant then removed his hood in front of the two.
"Remember me?"
