A small red dragon held a weapon that looked like a mic. He was facing a few large black dragons that gazed at the small one.

"You think you can defeat us?" one of the asked with a large confident grin on his face.

"It will be better for you if you just kneel down and begged mercy," another one said.

"And then join the ruler of Dragonland," the last one suggested.

"Me? Kneeling down in front of Dorbickmon?" the small dragon raised his head. He took a deep breath and yelled, "Never!"

He charged at them. He avoided their claws and smashed the snout of the first one in his range. He launched himself in the air and landed on the ground. He grunted, "I will never accept to serve a tyrant like Dorbickmon and neither the emperor," he spun his weapon and avoided the next attack.

"You impudent fool. You have chosen death," the first dragon said as they charged.

"You are the one who shall lose!" the small one replied.

He charged forward and was ready to destroy those dragons.

Prologue: The Voice

In another world, a boy was playing basket ball with his team. He was a boy with peach skin, gray eyes and spiky brown hair. He wore a red shirt and short of the same color. They were in the gymnasium of their school, participating in a basketball match against another school.

A girl encouraged him, "Beat them Taiki!"

The boy raised his head and watched the remaining time they had left. With barely twenty seconds and being one point behind, they need to mark it now or they lost. The other team just had to hold on.

Their coach called their final time out and everyone came to him. Taiki was already searching in his mind for a chance for them to win. The competition was intense.

"Taiki," the coach called the boy back to reality, "Listen to me. We are going all on the offensive. There is no need for an overthinking plan."

The boy nodded, "Got it."

The tallest of their class said, "If I'm free, pass it to me."

"Sure," he replied.

The players went on the field. Taiki stood on the side and waited for the final moment of the match to begin.

The player passed to another of his teammate and went towards the other side of the court.

The boy made sure he was freed and the moment no one could block him, he received the pass. He was too far to shoot and approached the net. He had to stop near the Arc of the opposite team or they would have taken the ball. He held it in his hand and quickly searched around for anyone who wasn't blocked by anyone of the other team.

He had to pass very soon. They only had eight seconds remaining. He grew nervous if he screwed up and they lost the match. Luckily, he saw his teammate freed. He quickly calculated where he was going and passed it a little too much on the right of his teammate. They had only three seconds left.

The tall student grabbed the ball and turned around. He jumped in the air and with his final moment, he threw the ball.

The basket ball went right into the basket and score two points. Their team won and were ecclesiastic.

Taiki let out a large smile as he put his hand on his forehead. Relief was on his face as they won this important match. He joined the rest of his teammate and celebrated their victory.

Later on, Taiki walked outside of his school and waved good-bye to his teammates, "That was a nice shot."

"I wouldn't have done it without you."

"See ya. My friend will be here soon."

He stopped in front of the gate and waited for someone. He changed himself to his everyday clothes. It was a black shirt under a blue shirt with a yellow mark on the chest, a brown short, white gloves and green goggles on his forehead.

"That was a nice pass Taiki," his friend said.

Akari Hinomoto joined him and stopped by his side. She was a girl with peach skin, amber eyes and long red hair which is worn in spiky pigtails held by two green scrunchies. She wore a white shirt with a pink collar, long pink sleeves, and a red heart in the left side of the chest and a denim shortall.

"It was that or we lose the match Akari," he replied with a large smile.

"If you keep it up, you might participate in the tournament soon," she commented, taking the lead back to their home, "Too bad your parents couldn't come."

"It's okay," he replied. He took out his cellphone and sent to his parents that he was returning home.

On their way home, the two talking a little about everything and nothing.

Dammit.

A voice made the boy stopped as he looked around.

"What is it?" Akari asked as she looked at the same direction he was looking.

"I thought I heard something."

"Maybe you put too much effort in your match. Really too much again. It make you hear stuff," she replied as she took a few steps forward.

I had to charge like that.

Taiki heard that voice again. It was a weak voice that seemed to be in pain. He looked at the alley way. It seemed it came from there.

"Taiki?"

"I really heard someone talking. Someone in trouble," he pointed at the alley.

"I heard nothing Taiki," she replied.

I cannot die now!

Taiki went to the alley.

"Taiki!"

"I know I heard someone Akari," he rushed in the alley.

His friend hesitated for a few seconds before she went after him, "Dammit Taiki!"

Once they were in the alley, the children looked around, but there was no one else.

"You heard things Taiki. I see no one here and-" this time, she also heard the voice.

I can't. Dammit. I need help. Argh!

They heard someone grunting painfully. For a short while, they were quiet. They waited if they heard something else. There was nothing.

"Are we hearing a ghost?" Akari asked. She fearfully looked around.

"I don't think a ghost can be in pain," Taiki replied as he searched around.

They saw something made of red things floating in the air. The boy approached it.

"Taiki!"

He raised his hand and held it on his palm.

W-What is going on? The ghost-like being asked, where am I?

"In an alley of Tokyo," he replied to the thing.

"Taiki," she sighed at that obvious answer.

The red light began to diminish.

"What's going on?"

I'm… really dying. The voice said in realisation, not answer the boy's question.

Taiki paled while his friend was certain he was already dead.

"He needs help. Can we do something?" the boy asked as he looked at his friend.

"How should I know Taiki. I never dealt with ghost in my life," she replied, gazing fearfully at the red ghost thing.

Ballistamon… Everyone… I'm sorry. The ghost whispered.

"Hold on. We can help you," Taiki said, pushing aside all common sense.

Akari knew she couldn't try to avoid trouble. Her friend was going right into it.

Another voice came, Taiki. Do you want to help this Digimon in need?

"Yes," the boy replied.

"What now?" his friend asked. Everything was getting creepier. She wanted to leave, but knew her friend wouldn't when he wanted to help… whatever it was.

The only way to help him is for you to change his fate. If you don't, he will die.

The boy paled at those words, "How?" he asked as the red light began to fade away.

The girl began to felt the cold coming from the light. At that moment, she knew it wasn't a ghost and was really dying. Her brain couldn't make sense of it, but her heart did. She stood by the side of her friend.

Suddenly, a strange white light began to blind the two. They covered their eyes.

Taiki gasped.

Akari barely saw her friend falling in the light. Without thinking, she jumped towards him and grabbed his hand. She didn't have time to yell hold on as they were dragged in the light.

The two painfully grumbled as their senses came back. They scratched their head.

"Dammit Taiki," Akari whispered. She winced when the back of her head hurt.

"You're okay Akari?" her friend asked while offering his hand.

She grabbed it, "W-was that in our mind or not?"

The two looked around and realised they weren't in the city anymore. They were currently in a large green field around. There was no large skyscraper or any structures from Tokyo. They were mountains around the field.

The more she looked around, the more nervous she got.

Taiki remained calm and replied, "No."

"I can see that myself!" her nerves snapped. She put her hands over her mouth and gazed on the side, "S-sorry. I didn't mean-"

The boy was nervously smiling at her, "I thought I might snap too."

"Where are we? This is not Tokyo," she gulped.

"I don't know. We just got into the light and we're here," Taiki remembered the voice, "There is he? The one in trouble?"

"The red-light thing? I don't know."

They looked around and something felt from Taiki's pocket. The sound made them turned towards it. It was a red electronic device with a screen on it. The boy grabbed it and held it in his hand, "What is that?"

"It felt out of your pocket and you are wondering that?" Akari asked as she crossed her arms. She had to agree that it didn't look like anything her friend had.

The boy poked the screen a few times, wondering if something would happen. Nothing happened, "I didn't have that in my pocket Akari."

"I never saw that before," she agreed.

Ah! Where am I? a voice yelled, coming from the strange object in the hand of the boy.

The girl gasped loudly while her friend recognised the voice.

"It's him," he said as he gazed at the screen.

W-who are you? The voice ordered.

"You're okay?" Taiki asked.

The one in the device took a few seconds to reply, W-wait. Did you just trap me in here?

"No!" they protested.

Then let me out!

"How?" the boy asked.

Well…Just try something!

Taiki did as the voice told him and pressed on the screen. Nothing happened. He wanted the thing to come out. Suddenly the device shined and something came out.

It was made of data that slowly took shape and a red being, looking like it was in flesh and blood stood in front of them. A strange creature they never saw before.

It was a small, red dragon with blue eyes and a spiky mouth, a V-shaped forehead and gray underbelly. It wore green headphone, and his joints appear to be held together by some screws. It looked at them and gasped. He pointed his finger at them, "You're… You're humans!"

"What is that thing?" Akari yelled back.

"Who are you calling a thing?" the dragon yelled insulted.

Elsewhere, a tall crimson bipedal dragon looked down at another dragon who bowed in front of him, "What is it?" he grunted.

"Master. We have noticed a strange light appearing south of the kingdom," the dragon said without looking at his master.

"A strange light?" he asked, showing his fangs.

The monster was nervously and quickly said, "We already sent some soldiers to investigate. It might be more humans appearing and standing in your way general Dorbickmon."

"Good. One human is enough trouble already. We cannot have another one," Dorbickmon turned around and asked, "Have you found him yet?"

"No general. He is still hiding some-" he painfully grunted when he was grabbed by the throat.

"Then continue your search! If you don't find him in one day, I will kill you!" the general threatened him before throwing him against a wall, "Leave. Remember, one day."

"Y-yes master," he quickly ran away.

Dorbickmon wondered if he should bother the emperor with this. He chose not too. He would deal with it quickly.
