Blind Strawberry Deathgod, Chapter 1

"What the hell?! First, you kick down Yamachan, then you start orderin' us around like you're our boss or somethin', then you want us to get outta your way!", yelled one of the group of skateboarders. A certain orangette just rubs his head while looking in the general direction of the skateboarder. Not even pretending to be intimated or frightened. The orangette was wearing a Karakura High school uniform and had bright orange hair that slightly covered his eyes.

"Huh?! Speak ya little punk!!" He was about to punch the orangette, when he was kicked in the face by said orangette. He fell to ground with big red bruise and the orangette stomped him in the back multiple times.

"Holy Shit! Toshirin's getting totally beat.", another skateboarder said trembling. The rest of the group inching away from them also start trembling from the scene. Wincing when they heard loud painful grunting from their friend on the ground.

"This is bad! Real bad! Ya sure he's blind, man?!", another one asked, with a brown ponytail. Not even attempting to help his friend from the orange-haired menace. Wanting to stay alive and in one piece.

"The others said so! You mess with him and you're dead! This is bad, man!!." One with an Afro said, starting to sweat. The others seeming even more scared.

The orangette, who heard everything they said, growled lowly in his throat and finished stomping Toshirin's teary, bruised face into the pavement looked up at them and called out, "Shut up!" The three skateboarders froze up, looked at him and stopped talking. Fearing for their well-being. He scowled at them and pointed behind him to the glass bottle laying on its side with a few flowers in them.

"All of you...look at that! What is that?! Smelly idiot in the middle!", the orangette continued. The three yelped and tensed up, especially the one in the middle.

"Huh? Me?", the mentioned one asked unsure. "Yeah, You!", the teenager answered annoyed.

The one in the middle hurried to answer, sensing the others growing ire. "Uh, well... the flowers are for the gaki who died here the other day?"

"Smelly idiot's right!", and a kick to the face is what he got for his correct answer. The others watched shocked, not expecting that kind of reaction from the teenager for the correct answer.

"Mitchan?!"

"Second Question! Why is the bottle on its side?" He looked up at them with his unseeing eyes. The others were even more frightened they couldn't answer correctly for a few seconds. Opening and closing their mouth and sweating bullets.

"Well?", he asked them impatiently.

"Well...'cause we were skateboarding and knocked...it...over...", trailing off at the end. Him and the other skateboarder both got hit with multiple kicks and ungracefully fell on the pavement and grunted from the rough landing. When they stopped rolling they looked up fearfully at the orangette who seemed to start to be surrounded with a dark aura.

"Well then, you better apologize to her now! Or you'll be the ones people will be offering flowers in a vase at the street!", he told them with the dark threatening aura, pointing at a little girl with brown hair in pigtails. Who was watching the scene before her.

"AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!! We're sorry!! We won't do it again!!", they screamed and ran away dragging their other two friends with them. One or two of them even had tears going down their faces from fright.

The orangette sighed and turned to the bright little aura that belonged to the spirit, "They probably won't be back for a long while after that.", he told her with a soft expression, all the dark aura from before gone. "And I'll bring some fresh flowers for you tomorrow."

The spirit looked up at him gratefully. "Arigato oni-chan. Now I can finally rest in peace." Ichigo smiled softly at the spirit and turned around and looked over his shoulder in the spirit's general direction and waved. "You're welcome. Hope you can rest peacefully." The spirit nodded and waved back before disappearing and the teenager continued on his way to his home.

Name: Kurosaki Ichigo

Age: 15

Hair color: Orange

Eye color: Brown

Occupation: High school student, tenth grade

Skills: Can "see" spirits

His family runs the Kurosaki Clinic in Karakura Town. They save some and lose some, but luckily not many. Ever since he could remember, he was able to see spirits. Maybe because of that or just because he was weird or special. But otherwise his life used to be as normal as could be. He went to the dojo, had good grades and he had his mother. But that all changed one night, the night where his whole world was plunged into darkness. That one night his mother and him were attacked by something at the river bank, he lost her and his sight. It was hard in the beginning, he stopped going to the dōjō and started pushing away his friends. Now though, people tend to forget he's blind, with the way he moves around some would think he wasn't. But his ability to 'see' spirits remained, only that he saw the aura of the spirit. It showed the form of the spirit and he could feel it's strength but otherwise nothing. What's also a plus, is that his other senses got heightened thanks to his blindness. Helps him defend himself from his crazed dad's morning attacks.

Ichigo was walking down the street that lead to his family home and clinic while the street lights were flickering on. He reached the gate that lead to the door of the house, closed it behind him and entered the home after removing his shoes. He could feel the lights of the living room on his skin through the door and the smell of freshly cooked diner entered his nostrils. He closed his eyes and searched his bag for his keys, when he found them he felt out the right one and opened the door and walked in.

"I'm home!", he called out just before he was kicked in the face by his dad and landed face down on the ground. Unprepared to dodge or block the attack of his crazed father. His father stood over him hands on his hips. "You're late! You know that in this house, the curfew is always at 7pm sharp!", he bellowed. Still dressed in his doctor's coat and a Hawaiian shirt with grey pants and black shoes.

"Why you crazy old man!", muttered Ichigo from his position on the ground. He stood up and head butted his father with a tick mark on his temple and scowled at him. "Is this any way to treat your son after he helped a ghost find peace?!", he screamed into his face, pressing his forehead harder into his dad's forehead.

"No excuses young man! Anyone who doesn't follow the rules of this household will be punished!!", he screamed back. Also pressing his forhead harder against Ichigo's and the two started changing blows. "Or are you bragging over the fact that you can see and talk to those "ghosts", while I can't, even though you're blind! Why oh why wasn't I gifted with this ability?!", he screamed like the five year old he always acted like.

"Shut up! It wasn't like I asked for this!", Ichigo bellowed back.

In the background at the dinner table two younger girls were watching the fight, one watching in worry the other turning back to her bowl of rice. They were a pair of fraternal twins, but were nothing alike, looks and personality wise. One had light brown, short hair and chocolate brown eyes. Her name was Yuzu and she had taken over the role as the "mother" in the household. She cooked, did the laundry and cleaned up the house. She's very much like how their mother used to be, soft and kind. The other twin was Karin. She resembled more her dad. She had black hair that hung around her face, juts above her shoulders and dark grey eyes. Opposite to Yuzu, she was more authoritative and a tomboy and gives their father a beating when he's acting too childish. But even though their so different they were very close.

"Please stop fighting you two! Dinner's getting cold.", Yuzu chided them from her seat at the table looking at them worriedly. Karin on the other hand couldn't care less about the fight that was going on behind her. Tuning out the noise. "Let them be Yuzu. They'll calm down eventually. Seconds please." Yuzu still looked unsure. "But Karin..."

Back to the fight between Ichigo and his dad. He was about to punch him again, though was interrupted by Ichigo who kicked him in the face, hard, and landed on the wall. The landing left a Isshin shaped dent in it and he slided down to the ground. Ichigo heard him let out a painful groan and knew he wasn't going to get up again until his next attack for a while. His left eyebrow gave a slight twitch before he walked over to his sisters, knowing the layout of the house in and out.

When he reached them he ruffled their hair and smiled at them, a smile he reserved for only his sisters. "I'm not very hungry Yuzu, but thanks anyway. And what the hell kind of curfew is 7pm?!", he screamed at his father when he heard him shift again on the ground. He sighed and went towards the stairs that led to the different bedrooms. "I'm going to bed and you can send that ghost away or something. I'll deal with him later. Goodnight!", he said as he went up the stairs, then to his room. The spirit that had appeared looked around shyly before it left again.

"Oh oni-chan!", Yuzu called after him. She looked after him worriedly, Isshin looked up after him confused and Karin looked at their dad in irritation and exasperation. "Good job dad. It's your fault he went up to his room now.", she told him accusingly. Isshin stood up and looked at his daughters in shock and confusion. Shock, because the accusation and confusion, because he didn't know why she said it was his fault. "What?! Why?!"

Karin looked at him with a look that said 'are you serious?'. It was Yuzu that looked at him and answered, "Oni-chan's been having a tough time lately." Karin nodded and added, "He said there's been more of them than before and more have taken to following him around sometimes." Isshin switched his gaze between the two, completely shocked. "What?! He talks to you about those things but not me?! His own father?! He doesn't tell me anything.", he whined at the end.

"Of course he doesn't.", Karin replied to him. Isshin moved his shocked gaze to her. "You're over 40, yet you act like a five year old and your communication skills or parenting skills are practically nonexistent. I wouldn't want to tell you anything either." Even when she told him all that she kept her back turned to him.

Isshin sputttered and wobbled over to the memorial poster of his wife Masaki and started crying while clinging to it. "Oh, Masaki! My daughters treat me so coldly! I don't know, if it's because they're going through puberty or if it's something else! What should I do?!" He slid down to the floor and curled up into a fetal position and continued crying. "Well, you could start by taking down that memorial poster.", Karin muttered under her breath.

Ichigo closed the door behind him and threw his bag where he knew his chair stood. He took off his school uniform and folded it gently, put it in his closet and felt out his pajamas. Once he found it he put it on and layed down in his bed and sighed. 'Why does my dad have to be this annoying. His screaming's really giving me a headache.' He sighed again, shifted to make himself more comfortable and went to sleep.

Or at least was about to, but before he could fully succumb to sleep, he felt something flying into his room through his window. He opened his eyes, sat up and looked towards his window. He heard a small fluttering and saw a red little aura and felt it's shadow fly over his face. 'A butterfly?' Just then he felt something in the air shift and enter his room beside him and land on his desk. He saw that it was a spirit, but with a red aura and that it was fairly small.

He heard her gripping something that sounded Iike a katana hilt and tensed up, ready for an attack. "Hello?", he tried but it ignored him. "It's close...", he heard her mutter and jumping down to the floor in the middle of his room. 'Now I know that she's a girl' He got off his bed and walked over to her. "Hey.", he tried again, but she ignored him again. The nice approach not working he kicked her in her rear and yelled, "Hey!"

The lights flickered on and the girl was laying on the ground completely confused. "It's rude to ignore someone when they're talking to you! Haven't you ever heard of manners?!", Ichigo chided her, looking in the direction he heard her landing. She turned to him confused and asked, "Y-You...You can see me?"

Ichigo scoffed, "Considering that was your behind I just kicked, yes I can see you. But not the normal 'see', I'm blind." He grinned inwardly when he heard her sharp intake of air. "What? Blind? Then how did you know where I was to kick me?" He felt her reach towards his face and jerked back out of reflex. He didn't like it when people touched his face, specifically his eyes. He only let people he trusts touch his eyes or his dad. "I see the aura of spirits and I know you're not a normal one, yours is red.", he explained to her.

She mover her hand back, when jerked back and put it on her chin in a thinking position. "Strange...usually humans can't see me..." Ichigo rolled his unseeing eyes. 'Well kami knows I'm not normal' "So who are you and what are you doing here?", he asked her. She was reluctant to answer but after a moment she answered his question. "My name is Kuchiki Rukia and I was sent here on a mission by Soul Society."

In another part of Karakura Town, the girl spirit from before was running from an invisible force and hid behind a lamp post. She was already chased down by something in town, but a small girl in black robes killed it. "Again...Where is it?" Suddenly something ripped through the cables attached to the posts and the creature could be seen for a split second. The girl saw it and started running again. The creature chasing her, but the only evidence of it were the footprints it was leaving behind and a roar.

Rukia was in a seiza and Ichigo was sitting on his chair, arms crossed and eyes closed. When she finished explaining, Ichigo nodded. "So you were sent here by Soul Society to investigate the increased activity of hollows and the increased amount of spirits and at the same time to get rid of the hollows here and to help the spirits pass on. Did I get that about right?", he asked her and she nodded. She remembered about his blindness and gave a verbal confirmation.

Ichigo felt something appear on his right and looked over to see the aura of a spirit, the spirit from before at dinner. Rukia also looked to the spirit, when she sensed it entering the room. She had noticed Ichigo looking in the same direction and was surprised that he even felt it before her. "Hey, you're the one from before.", he greeted the spirit. The spirit was a business man in is late 40s with black hair and glasses dressed in a suit.

Rukia stood up and walked over to the spirit and unsheathed her blade. Before the spirit could try to run away, she had put the pummel of her sword on his forehead. Ichigo had heard her put the pummel of her sword on the spirit and could hear the fear in the spirits voice when it spoke. "N-No...please I don't want to go to hell!" Rukia had a soft expression on her face when she assured the spirit of his fate and Ichigo could hear how soft she sounded when she spoke to it. "There's no need to fear. Hell is not your destination, Soul Society is. It is a peaceful place and you can start a new life there." She removed the pummel from it's forehead and an emblem was left on it, which then shined brightly and the spirit started sinking into a pool of blue light with a peaceful face and hands in prayer motion. A Jigokuchō fluttered away from the spot the spirit had 'crossed over'.

The girl spirit was running through the town, the hollow chasing her and the people completely unaware. The girl tripped and fell to the ground. The hollow was about to grab her but stopped and sniffed the air. "This smell...it's the smell of an especially tasty soul. It's near...the smell of a shinigami." The hollow then left in the direction it smelled the scent, leaving the girl behind. The girl looked at the hollow as it walked away and destroyed windows of a building and let out a roar.

Ichigo tensed as the hollow brushed his senses and it's roar reached his heightened hearing. Rukia, however, remained unaware of the hollow as it neared it's target. 'Didn't she hear that?' "Whatever the case, I was chasing another hollow that was wandering around here. But for some reason I can't seem to sense it's presence at all anymore. " She noticed how Ichigo tensed up and became alert.

"Shit!", Ichigo cursed when he noticed the hollow coming even closer in this direction, specifically his home. He stood up, opened a drawer in his desk, took something out, which he then pressed against his chest and fell out of his body. His spiritual body was dressed in shinigami robes and a katana with a black hilt in a black sheath was strapped to his back. He moved his body to his bed and made it look like he was asleep before he leaped out of the window, leaving a shocked Rukia behind.

Rukia was speechless. She had noticed something was alarming Ichigo, he tensed as if something was gonna jump him at any moment. But she didn't know what. Then he did something that shocked her even further. He stood up, opened a drawer at his desk, took something out of it and pressed it against his chest and fell out of his body! The more shocking fact was that he was dressed in shinigami robes and had a blade strapped to his back in a black sheath. That's when she understood what had Ichigo so tense, she heard the howl, it was a hollow! She followed him out of the window and saw him jump towards the hollow. 'He was able to sense it before me?! And the hollow has such powerful reiatsu.' She moved her gaze towards Ichigo. 'His reiatsu feels even stronger than mine.'

Ichigo unsheathed his sword and attacked the hollow, catching it off guard and cutting off it's arm. "What do you think you're doing targeting my home, hollow?!" The hollow cried in pain from it's severed arm and walked backwards into a portal to Hueco Mundo.

He landed on the street, sword raised in a defensive position, waiting for the hollow to show itself again. Rukia touched down beside him and unsheathed her sword, also waiting for the hollow. It emerged again from a portal in front of them with a howl and extended it's neck to attack them from a distance. They both dodged the attack and Ichigo released a energy wave towards it. It dodged but got deeply grazed by the attack and let out a howl of pain. It was unprepared for the next attack though, as Rukia appeared in front of it and cut through it, but in it's last attempt at resistance it slashed Rukia's right shoulder and the injury sprayed blood.

It disintegrated into spirit particles with a final howl having been purified. Rukia slumped against a near lamp post and held her wounded shoulder. Ichigo swiped his sword to the side flicking away the blood and walked over to where he saw Rukia's aura after sheathing it. "You okay?", he asked her, kneeled down and reached towards the wound. It wasn't a lethal one, but it was still losing much blood.

"I'm alright. It's nothing serious." She tried to sound nonchalant but the pain was evident in her voice as she spoke a little strained. She became alert again when something brushed her senses. It was an unfamiliar reiatsu and wounded like this, she wasn't going to be much help. She was about to warn Ichigo, but he was calm. So he either hadn't sensed it yet, which was highly unlikely with the skill he showed before, or this new reiatsu belonged to someone he knew and wasn't a threat. The latter was more probable.

Suddenly the noise of getas clanking was heard coming closer. The clanking came closer and closer to them. Meanwhile Rukia was still tense and had gripped the handle of her sword ready for battle, while Ichigo remained calm. 'About time he showed up.' A moment later a man turned the corner of the street and stopped a few feet away from them. He was wearing a white green striped bucket hat on his shaggy blonde hair. He wore a brown haori, a green kimono underneath and green loose pants and on his feet were a pair of getas.

"My, my Kurosaki-san, you never do things the normal way, or subtle do you?", he asked them with a cheery tone and a mirthful smile. Ichigo scoffed and turned towards him. "Like you're one to talk Urahara. Didn't you almost blow up your house in one of your experiments recently?", he asked him teasingly. Urahara was about ready to pout when a third voice, they honestly shortly forgot was right there with them for a second, spoke up. "What? Exile Urahara Kisuke?" Rukia asked, disbelief evident on her face.

At that Kisuke whipped out a fan out of nowhere and hid his grin behind it. "Why, yes. That would be me~" Rukia could already tell she was going to be annoyed with him. She flinched when she remembered the injury on her shoulder. "Well Kuchiki-san, that looks like a pretty nasty injury. Why don't we go to my humble shop and I'll have that looked at for you.", Kisuke told her. She was skeptical, Ichigo tapped her on the arm and nodded as reassurance to her when he had her attention. She stood up with help from Ichigo, him supporting her and the three made their way towards the Urahara Shōten.

So started a new story, hope y'all like it. But idk where I'm going with this so!! Ja ne!

So quickly to explain. Ichigo can't physically see the spirits. It's more of a minds eye. He senses the spirit's reiatsu and it sends the information to his brain. So in his mind he sees the outline of it and can sense it's strength. He turns to them so at least not to seem rude or something, but he can't see what they look like, just their outline with his 'minds eye'. I don't know what to call it
