Hey y'all, so I thought this one up today. Just a nice little one shot between Adrien and his dad, hope you all enjoy, if you do, please remember to R&R!

The car pulled up to the Agrest home around 11:30 PM. Adrien had been quiet the whole ride home from the airport. Natalie had tried to talk to Adrien and ask him about the trip and New York. But, Adrien either only gave one answer replies or just shrugged.

He wasn't in the mood to talk. He still felt so bad for breaking his promise to Ladybug. He should of found a reason to stay in Paris. So, he could of tried to stop all that had happened.

Adrien walked inside, where his father was waiting at the bottom of the stairs. Gabriel looked anything but happy. However, Adrien did not take notice, as he barely gave his father a second glance as he walked right past him and up to his bed room.

Gabriel looked over at Natalie,

"What is going on with Adrien? Is he mad I made him come home from the trip early?" Gabriel asked.

"I don't know, sir. He would not talk to me in the car. Even when I asked him about New York, he wouldn't talk about it." Natalie replied.

Gabriel had a feeling Adrien was just upset he was made to come home early, but decided to go up to his sons room. And hear what he had to say on the matter.

Gabriel walked in and closed the door behind him, he saw Adrien sitting on the end of his bed.

Gabriel hardly had the chance to take two steps tortes his sons bed, when Adrien looked back at him and said.

"I wish you would of never made me go to New York."

Gabriel froze in place, he was not expecting that at all. He thought this was just going to a back and forth of Adrien whining at him, for making him come back early. But, that threw Gabriel for a loop.

Gabriel finally collected his thoughts, and then went and sat by his son. Adrien looked so depressed, Gabriel couldn't even begin to think of what could of possibly happened.

"Adrien, I know the New York trip was a bit last minute. But, I thought you would of been excited to go. I mean, you were getting to go a whole different country with your friends." Gabriel finally said.

Adrien just shook his head. "No, New York was a total mess. I only went because you said I had too. And I knew there was no way you would of let me stay back, especially after my friends had done so much to convince you to let me go."

"Well, what could of possibly happen that ruined the trip?" Gabriel asked.

Adrien sighed, "I made a promise to some friends, a big one. That I would help them look after some new friends we made in New York. And I failed, one of our new friends ended up getting hurt. She's going to be fine, but I feel like it's my fault, because I promised my friends that I would do my best to look after her and keep her safe and I failed."

Gabriel sighed, "Adrien, sometimes in life you can't always keep the promise's you make. I know it's hard, but it just makes you human."

"But, you always tell me I should to try and do everything perfectly. And I wasn't able to do this perfectly, not even close, it blew up in my face." Adrien replied.

"Adrien, when I tell you that, I mean that with things like fencing, piano, basketball, modeling. Things that you can continue to get better at and always work on improving. But, something like this, you can learn from, but you're never going to be perfect at it, we've all made promise's that we were not able to keep in the end." Gabriel replied.

"Even you, father?" Adrien asked.

Gabriel sighed, "Yes...but unfortunately it's just a part of life. The most important thing now is to make sure your friends know that you are sorry and that you tried your hardest, and to learn from this and make better choices in the future. I know it may seem like the end of the world right now, but it's all apart of growing up, making mistakes and learning from them, so you can do better in the future."

"Do you still make these kinds of mistake's, father?" Adrien asked.

"Yes, even as an adult, I'm still learning and growing from my own mistakes. I can promise that your friends will see past this soon enough. And it will not seem like a huge problem for long." Gabriel replied.

Adrien sighed, but then finally looked at his father. "Thank you, father. I still feel crummy about what happen. But, hopefully I will feel better soon."

"It's all apart of life, son. Why don't you get ready for bed? It's getting late." Gabriel replied.

Adrien nodded, and his father planted a kiss on his forehead, before leaving his room. Plagg flew out of Adrien's shirt.

"Your dad's right, I know you wanted to keep your promise to Ladybug, but you had to go to New York. You're only one person. There was only so much you could do." Plagg said.

"I know, I just feel bad Ladybug had to fix a mess that I could of prevented." Adrien replied.

"Well, it's all fixed now, and like your dad said, I'm sure Ladybug isn't mad any longer. Maybe after a good night's rest, you'll feel better." Plagg replied.

Adrien nodded, and then decided to go to bed, tired from the trip and everything that had happened the past few days.

In Gabriel's office, he was standing in front of the painting of his wife. He sighed, the words of keeping promise's ringing in his ears.

Gabriel gently placed his fingers onto the painting. "You will come back to us one day, my love, that is a promise I will keep, no matter the cost."

End! I know, not the most exciting story, but something I thought would just be a nice little read. If you enjoyed please let me know. And I will be back with more stories soon! Until next time! Blessings! Butterfly582!
