Remnant's Saiyan What-If Series
What-If 1 Part 1: What-If Jason Never Landed on Remnant
Age 735 Planet Vegeta…
As the Tyrannical Frieza destroys the Saiyan homeworld, two pods narrowly escape its destruction. One holds Kakarot, the Saiyan, who will one day defeat Frieza. The other, however, contains Arrow, a Saiyan who was going to become Jason but this time, that does not happen!
Unlike originally, Arrow's pod narrowly misses the asteroid that caused the pod to stray from its original path. Now uninterrupted, Arrow's pod flies through space towards its destination, a world with low powered inhabitants and a full moon.
Three Days Later Planet Dynamo…
In was a full moon that night illuminating the city below as people went on their business. But every citizen's attention was directed towards the sky when a ball of fire fell and landed in the city, crashing through several buildings as it did.
"Wake up, Arrow terminate all lifeforms…" A computerized voice repeatedly said, waking up the Saiyan child.
As the child wakes, his eyes lay in a perfect view of the full moon, making no noise as all his senses disappeared. A deafening roar rang through the city, shattering many windows as people held onto their ears for protection.
Soon the roar was replaced by screams of terror as a Great Ape began its rampage through the city, destroying several buildings and killing many innocent souls. When morning came, not a single survivor was left in the city except a Saiyan child sleeping in the rubble of a large building.
Sixteen Years Later…
"Hurry up, we need to get back to the bunker!" Demanded a tall man in black with a rifle.
"I'm going as fast as I can. I don't want to get stuck out here either on a full moon!" The other man replied.
"I don't want to wait any longer, man, we're risking it enough as it is the Great Ape could come at any moment." Another man said the three men were in the ruins of a building looking for supplies.
"Calm down, its not even sunset." The other man argued.
"Not that it's going to matter anyway." A voice pointed out, shocking the three scavengers.
The three men turned and saw a teenager in ragged pants with no shirt or shoes and a monkey tail. He had dirty black hair and sat on top of a mound of rubble as he smiled at them sinisterly.
"Who…who the hell are you?!" The tall man questioned.
"Me, my name is Arrow," Arrow answered calmly, not revealing much to the men.
"Are you a survivor looking for the bunker?" The other man asked.
"Yes, that's it, the safe zone I've been looking for a long time where the rest of the survivors are. It gets pretty lonely spending every day alone, especially the full moons. It gets boring with no one around." Arrow confirmed.
"You managed to survive the full moon alone. That's impressive, kid." Another man gasped.
"That sounded off." The tall man murmured, becoming suspicious of the teen.
"So, where is the bunker?" Arrow asked.
"It's close by. We're about to head back. You can come with us." The other man answered.
"Wait, something doesn't seem right here." The tall man cautioned.
"What do you mean we should always help others." Another man argued.
"Somethings not right about this kid." The tall man pointed out.
"I mean look, he has a tail. Have you ever seen a person with a tail? There's also the way he worded his explanation just doesn't feel right with me." The tall man explained.
"I don't really agree with that completely, but the tail does call some suspicion." The other man agreed.
"Woops, my bad, I forgot to hide the tail, oh well guess we have to do it the hard way." Arrow sighed.
The Saiyan raised his hand and pointed a single finger at the three men as it slowly lit up. Arrow blasted each one of the men, killing two and critically injuring another as he stood up. He walked over and crouched over the injured man who was coughing up blood.
"Why? Why would you do this?" The other man questioned.
"It's what I was sent here to do. It's not like I have anything else to do." Arrow answered, resting his chin in his right hand.
"Now, where is the bunker?" Arrow asked, glaring at the man who was bleeding out below.
"I will never tell you!" The other man vowed.
"I believe you," Arrow replied as he blasted the man killing him.
"I'm getting better at that, but it's not surprising seeing that I'm a Saiyan," Arrow said to himself as he exited the ruined building.
The sun was setting over the horizon as day turned into night, and the moon came into view. Not ready to transform just yet, Arrow looked around the area, trying to determine where the bunker could be.
"Screw this. I'm just going to go crazy." Arrow decided, annoyed that the pests didn't give him an answer.
"Goodbye, pants," Arrow said, patting his pants.
He looked up into the sky, staring directly into the moon, letting the blutz waves enter his body. Slowly his body began to transform, growing bigger until he became a thirty-meter-tall Oozaru whose roar echoed throughout the area.
Arrow began to tear apart the surrounding area knocking down buildings and breaking the ground in a search for the bunker. Inside said bunker, the people hiding within were scared for their lives. With every sound that seeped through and every shake of the bunker, the fear grew.
"Damn, how did it find us?" A soldier questioned.
"It hasn't found us yet but be prepared. We need to fight it in case it gets in." The commander responded.
"What good will that do? It's not like we have any weapons to hurt it?" Another soldier asked.
"As long as we keep it away from the people, then that's fine by me." The commander answered.
Soon all of the noise outside ceased as the air stood still in the bunker. The soldiers stood at the ready to fight as the ground began to shake again. It began to shake harder and heavier, indicating that the Oozaru was heading towards them.
Suddenly giant fingers dug through the entrance as the Oozaru roared in triumph as it tore out the entrance. The people inside began to scream in terror as the Oozaru attacked the soldiers killing them easily, and before anyone could evacuate, the Oozaru blasted a beam from its mouth.
The beam killed a majority of the people there, and the rest died when the Oozaru trampled the bunker, destroying it entirely. Arrow had his fun wrecking what was left of the intelligible life on that planet until the sun rose.
When he returned to his normal form, Arrow laid down in the rubble of the bunker, smiling happily, knowing that his mission was complete.
"I wonder what I should do now that there's no one else is on this planet from what I can remember, home is gone, and most likely, so is my family." Arrow wondered as he scavenged for some clothes.
Once he found some pants and a tattered shirt, he left the rubble, deciding to head back to his home on the planet. Arrow ran towards the city where he had landed in which now laid in ruin. The top of a skyscraper fallen on top of the remains of another, providing shade for Arrow's home.
He lifted a rock which he used as a door and entered his abode lit by light coming through the cracks in the ceiling. His "house" was just a bunch of rock creating an enclosed space around the pod he landed in, which had significant damage from his first transformation, making it useless.
Arrow laid down in his pod, which he used as a bed, and began to relax, getting ready to sleep when an annoying beeping sound came from underneath him. Getting up, Arrow looked for the source finding a device in a small compartment he never noticed before.
Not carrying for the device, he broke it on a rock then proceeded to go to sleep. Hours later, his senses were alerted when he heard some rubble move from the outside, crouching to a battle position.
Suddenly the ceiling exploded, sending Arrow into some rubble as three figures descended into his "home". They were made up of two big people, one with long hair and one with no hair at all save facial and one shorter person with spiky hair.
"Well, what do you know? There was another Saiyan on this planet guess that scouter we picked up was real." The short one stated.
"This is good, though, that makes our next job easier." The bald one pointed out.
"He looks ragged. How strong could he be? It seems almost like he only recently finished his job here?" The long-haired one questioned.
"Let's see here…huh only three hundred eighty-seven that's even weaker than Raditz!" The bald one answered using a device similar to the one Arrow crushed.
"Who are you?" Arrow questioned.
"We are Saiyans like you low-class. We responded to your scouter, which picked up our signal a few hours ago." The short one responded.
"Low-class, what's that supposed to mean?" Arrow asked.
"It means you are weak and part of the lower division of us, Saiyans." The long-haired one answered.
"Looks like his ship is nonfunctional, Vegeta he must have been here for a while." The bald one pointed out.
"Yes, it seems like it took him even longer to finish the job with this planet than we thought." The now named Vegeta replied.
"What do you want?" Arrow questioned.
"What's with all the questions, don't you know anything?!" The long-haired one shot.
"I grew up on this planet with little knowledge of home, so no, I don't!" Arrow responded, getting irritated at the attitude of the long-haired Saiyan in front of him.
"We're here to confirm what the scouter signal we picked up was true. Another Saiyan still alive after the destruction of our homeworld." Vegeta explained.
"Our home really is gone, how did it happen?" Arrow asked.
"A large meteor hit it, destroying it," Vegeta answered.
"I see, so you found me. What do you want now?" Arrow inquired.
"Raditz is right. You do ask too many questions." Vegeta commented.
"But anyway, we're here to pick you up and take you with us. With another Saiyan with us, conquering planets will be far faster and easier than before." Vegeta clarified.
"Conquering other worlds, so you're doing what I did here. Well, that does sound like fun, but still, why should I help you?" Arrow questioned.
"Why? Wouldn't helping us be better than having nothing to do all day?!" The bald one questioned.
"Fair point," Arrow replied.
"Fine, I'll join you since I've got nothing better to do." Arrow relented.
"Perfect, now introductions are in order. What is your name?" Vegeta asked.
"I am Arrow," Arrow answered.
"Arrow, huh well, I am Vegeta, the prince of all Saiyans, meaning I am your leader, so you will do what I say. The bald one is Nappa, and the long-haired one is Raditz." Vegeta replied.
"A pleasure," Arrow muttered.
"Guess we'll manage to finish the job with a few days to spare. I was hoping for a stronger Saiyan on the planet." Nappa sneered.
"You got a problem! If you want strong, I will show you strong!" Arrow declared as he used his special power.
His eyes turned deep yellow, and his energy turned orange as he charged at Nappa. The Saiyan was surprised when Arrow's attack did decent damage to him, breaking his armor in the process.
"WHAT THE HELL!" Nappa cursed as he backed away and used his scouter.
"What the…! His power level increased to 3870!" Nappa shouted.
"That's impossible. It's like he's turning into an Oozaru without transforming!" Raditz replied.
"Amazing someone who is able to use the power of an Oozaru without transforming that means he's stronger than you, Raditz." Vegeta smiled.
"But I'm stronger than him in my Oozaru form!" Raditz argued.
"That's only when you are in the Oozaru transformation." Vegeta asserted.
"More importantly, Arrow, how are you able to do that?" Vegeta questioned.
"Don't know when I first turned it was due to survival instinct because the people of this planet tried to be smart and ambush me." Arrow explained as he returned to his normal state.
"Great, so you don't know how. Oh well, let's get out of here. This planet is a shit hole." Nappa insisted.
"Speaking of how is that going to work?" Arrow asked.
"We have some pods we flew here in; however, we only have three, so you're going in with Raditz," Vegeta answered.
"What! Why do I have to share?!" Raditz questioned.
"Because I said so, get over it!" Vegeta asserted as the four headed over to the pods.
Entering in the pods uncomfortable for some as it darted into the sky. After a day, they reached Frieza planet 425, where they could get Arrow equipped with his own armor, a scouter, and pod.
"Why does this armor have two shoulder pads that are so long it's annoying?" Arrow complained as he moved around in his new clothes consisting of black armor with matching boots and pants.
"It protects you moderately from physical and energy attacks, so quit complaining," Vegeta demanded.
"Can't," Arrow replied as he tore the shoulder pads off and rolled his arms, now flexible.
"Better." Arrow smiled.
"Whatever, but let's see what you can do," Vegeta said as he led Arrow to another room.
"So what are we doing in here." Arrow questioned only to be answered by the gravity increasing drastically in the room.
"We are going to test your power, Arrow. You're going to fight against drones in the increased gravity in this room," Vegeta explained.
"Just so you know, this is the normal gravity on this planet. The base normally keeps the gravity hospitable for most lifeforms but now let's see how you deal with this." Vegeta smirked.
"Hm, this will be fun to watch," Raditz said.
The three Saiyan warriors left the room, leaving Arrow on his own as several holes opened on the floor. From the holes, several fighters in similar armor that Arrow was wearing looking at him and using their scouters to measure his power.
"Pathetic, his power level is way below one thousand." One of the Frieza Soldiers pointed out.
"This is going to be easy!" Another shouted.
"I thought Vegeta said I would be fighting drones, not other soldiers! Does he view them as drones? Who cares? I won't let myself lose here!" Arrow thought.
Getting onto his feet, Arrow glared at the seven soldiers in front of him. He powered up, not going into his other state so as to not show his hand just yet. This proved fruitless, however, as due to his restricted movements because of the high gravity.
In the end, Arrow had no choice but to use his stronger state of being in order to fight the other soldiers. Once he did transform into this state, Arrow easily knocked most away and out of commission until there were only two left.
Using the scouter given to him and the basic understanding of their written word, Arrow noticed both were much stronger than him. One had a power level of 5,621. The other had a power level of 6,434.
"Damn." Arrow cursed as he crossed his arms in front of him to block an attack.
"Compared to those two, Arrow's fighting style is sloppy." Nappa pointed out.
"Yes, well, spending your life on a world filled with low-level scum and no proper training will do that to a Saiyan," Vegeta replied.
"If he's a true Saiyan, he won't let going against two fighters stronger than he is stop him," Raditz said.
Arrow was at the mercy of the two Frieza soldiers, unable to push them back nor counter their attacks. His guard was soon broken when one kneed him in the gut, then the other blasted him point-blank in the face.
The attack sent Arrow into a wall, and the Saiyan stayed there as his body was in pain and unable to move. At that moment, as the two soldiers slowly walked towards him, he believed he wasn't strong enough to beat them. That is until he remembered words told to him by his father.
"We are Saiyan warriors. It matters not if we are under that scums thumb…never forget your Saiyan Pride…" His father had said.
"He's right. I am a Saiyan warrior. If I were to give in like this, it would mean I would be throwing away my pride!" Arrow thought as his power surged with his fury.
"Incredible, his power is increasing once more!" Raditz gasped.
"This kid is full of surprises. He'll surpass you in every way in no time, Raditz!" Nappa goaded agitating Raditz.
Arrow ripped himself out of the wall and closed his arms together, hitting the two soldiers' heads and slamming them together. The sudden blow to the head jarred the two soldiers as Arrow grabbed onto one of their heads and planted it in the ground.
Not wasting any time, he then spun around and kicked the other soldier away into the wall, of which he proceeded to fire a large blast of Ki. Using the power reminded him of the first time he ever used it when he fought against a large army. It came out like instinct.
Making sure neither soldier got back up, he slammed his foot into the back of the neck of one he planted under himself, swiftly crushing it and instantly killing him. He then proceeded to walk over to the one he fired into the wall and punched straight through his torso.
"There, I'm done," Arrow announced, breathing heavily.
"Well done, showing no mercy to your opponents." Vegeta complimented.
"You're a true Saiyan, alright getting stronger when on the brink," Vegeta added.
Before he could say anything else, Arrow collapsed to the ground unconscious. Satisfied with what he saw, he told Raditz to put Arrow into a healing pod. Once Arrow woke, they would go to their next mission.
"You think he's ready already?" Nappa questioned.
"Of course, with that power, even with his lack of combat skills, he'll be a valuable asset. We'll train him as we go so that he can improve his skills. Once he does, we'll finish conquers faster than ever!" Vegeta smiled.
Frieza's Lead Ship…
"Lord Frieza, a report just came in. It seems that Vegeta has discovered another Saiyan who escaped the destruction of Planet Vegeta and brought him into the force." Zarbon informed.
"How strong is this Saiyan?" Frieza questioned.
"The last recorded power level from the scouters indicate he is around seven thousand, my lord." Zarbon answered.
"I see, fine, I will let it slide for now, but if this new Saiyan becomes a problem, I want him eliminated, is that clear," Frieza ordered.
"Yes Lord Frieza." Zarbon responded.
"Good now, leave me," Frieza ordered.
"As you wish." Zarbon complied.
Once Zarbon left, Frieza crushed the glass of wine he had been holding in anger. The very thought that another Saiyan managed to escape his purge of the species infuriated Frieza. The last thing he needed was a higher chance of a Super Saiyan appearing.
"I will let him live for now, but soon I will have him killed. I don't need more than three filthy monkeys in my ranks." Frieza decided as he tossed the glass shards away.
The Saiyan warrior, known as Arrow, has now joined the ranks of the Frieza Force under the command of Prince Vegeta! However, upon hearing the news of his arrival, Frieza himself is infuriated and vows to have him killed. Will Frieza succeed, or will Arrow prove to be more useful than he anticipated? Find out next time on What-If Jason Never Landed on Remnant!
Author's Note:
Hey guys, sorry for the wait, but the first chapter and What-If of the Remnant's Saiyan What-If series is here. I hope you guys enjoyed it. Now I know this chapter is short, and it might seem a bit "fast," but that is only because the What-If's aren't meant to be long or an entire fic but a short collection of chapters or arc to tell a small story.
As for this first What-If, I'd say at most it will be either two or three more chapters until it is finished. Until then, that's all I have to say, so I'll see you guys next chapter!
