A/N:

Hello everyone. Here's a story that's been on my mind for quite a long time. I've been trying to figure out how I would go about writing this. I watched a few episodes of Boruto and I was disappointed with the portrayal of Kakashi. So I decided to dabble in Naruto fiction and play with the world Kishimoto created. Anyways, let's get to the important stuff:

1. This story is rated M for a reason. You have been warned.

2. This story features an original character.

DISCLAIMER: This story is a work of fan-fiction. I do not own Naruto.

Happy Reading! ^^

Chapter 1. The Child of Yondaime Hokage

One lovely autumn afternoon.

This was definitely not planned. It only happened once. And yet, here she was, her hands trembling as she held the small plastic device in her hands. Her gaze fixated on the small yet devious blue plus that seemed to mock her with her situation. It only happened once. They were careful, or so she thought. They were young, too young to start a family.

She was standing in the middle of her tiny bathroom, in her tiny apartment as she processed her situation. She was seventeen. She was a jinchuuriki. She was a chuunin kunoichi and very much not ready to be a mother. And yet, her free hand instinctively reached for her belly, guarding the small bean growing within her.

"Kushina!"

His voice snapped her from her train of thought and her gaze shifted to the intruder.

"Oh Minato-kun, I didn't even hear you come in," she replied quickly, trying her hardest to remain calm and yet for the red hot blooded habanero that was a struggle.

"I came to see if you were hungry," he paused for a moment as he noticed her holding a pregnancy test in her left hand," is that…" he continued only to be cut off by Kushina herself.

"YES! That's right! It's exactly what you think it is. I'm pregnant Minato!" she blurted out.

The young blond man paled. For a moment it seemed that he forgot how to breathe. He took a step back and slowly backed up to Kushina's old moss green couch. He took a seat as he processed her unexpected news. Kushina tossed the test into the trash, washed her hands, and she followed him to her living area. After a moment of silence, Minato let out a soft smile.

"I never thought that this would be your birthday present for me, but I like it nonetheless. I love Kushina and I'm with you, always," Minato stated as he gently reached for her hand, giving it a soft squeeze.

"Yeah, happy 18th birthday Minato, guess what you're gonna be a dad soon," Kushina remarked, still scared of what was to come.

She sat down onto the couch right next to him, scared about the next step.

"What do we do Minato? We are too young to raise a child. You're about to become a sensei, and I was planning on taking the next jounin examinations. But now, we aren't even married. We had sex once and this is the result? I feel like we are being punished. I don't know. I don't know what I can do, what I'm going to do… I —" she said only to be cut off by Minato.

"My dear Kushina, I know this wasn't planned at all, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't happy. I love you, always have and always will, and as shinobi we don't have the luxury to let time go by. We never know which mission will be our last, so I say I am ready to take the next step. We've dated for almost three years now and even though it is real fast, I am okay with it and I hope with time you'll be too?" he spoke all hopeful.

He placed his free hand over hers, as it guarded her belly. Kushina smiled at the small yet loving gesture and nodded.

"I love you Minato-kun, and I think I already love our baby. I know it is silly, I just found out but I already feel a connection, and that probably scares me but I'm more than willing to go on this wild adventure with you," she replied, smiling softly at the caring man next to her.

"I love you too Uzumaki Kushina," he replied and he leaned in, sealing their moment with a kiss.

Ten months later.

Kushina smiled as she was sitting outside in the garden of her and Minato's house, enjoying the wonderful spring day as she held her newborn child in her arms. Her smile widened as she noticed Minato enter their little sanctuary with his young team of misfits: Hatake Kakashi, Nohara Rin, and Uchiha Obito.

"Hello Obito-kun, Rin-chan, Kakashi-kun. Have you come to meet our little Naomi?" Kushina asked all gently as she held the young baby in her arms.

"Waah! Sensei, she is so tiny!" Obito exclaimed as he looked over the youngest Namikaze.

"Now, not so loud Obito. She is not very fond of loud noises," Minato spoke, beaming with pride as he looked at his wife and daughter.

Rin leaned a bit closer, curious at the youngest addition to her sensei's family.

"You want to hold her?" Kushina asked her," Here… make sure to support her head… just like that… perfect."

Rin held the newborn in her arms," She's precious. Kakashi look, she's got sensei's hair…" noticing the small bits of blonde hair on top of the baby's head.

Kakashi looked over the newborn, and then cleared his throat.

"Congratulations, Minato-sensei, Kushina-san," he stated simply and then he took a step back silently.

Rin held the baby for a moment longer as she and Obito cooed over her and then she gently placed her back into Kushina's arms.

"I'm going to be the best older sister for Nami-chan," Rin declared.

"Well, I'm going to protect her," Obito stated, and he pushed up his goggles as they slightly slid down his eyebrows from his forehead.

"You should focus on improving your ninjutsu. Besides, I'm sure I will be her favorite protector," Kakashi joined in, entertained by his teammates' antics.

Minato smiled at his team," Well I think our little Nami will be a very happy child, don't you think Kushina?" and he gently wrapped his arm around his wife.

Kushina nodded while Kakashi, Rin and Obito entered a discussion over who would protect the baby the best," The luckiest girl in all of Konohagakure," she stated.

Six years later.

"The Tales of a Gutsy Ninja. It's well-written book Jiraiya-sensei. I am especially fond of the main character and I hope you won't mind that Kushina and I intend to name our second child after your character," Minato spoke with a smile as he held Jiraiya's first novel in his hands.

"Naruto is a very good name," Kushina added as she gently rubbed her very large pregnant belly.

"Well I am touched that you would choose it," Jiraiya replied and then he looked over to notice the youngest member of the Namikaze family bouncing around the garden with a fourteen year old Kakashi dressed in his ANBU uniform, watching over her patiently.

"He is struggling with the deaths of his teammates. I was hoping, by having him watch over Kushina and Nami, he wouldn't descend into his darkness," Minato spoke, as they watched from a distance how Kakashi interacted with young Nami.

"Well, your daughter has the ability to brighten anyone she meets. I mean look at me, I've seen the worst of humanity and yet seeing your little munchkin brings a smile to my eyes. She'll make an excellent ninja one day," Jiraiya noted as he waved to the youngest Namikaze.

The young girl's eyes beamed as she recognized him and she held her shuriken tightly and she rushed at quick speed towards her parents and Jiraiya.

"OJIICHAN!" she exclaimed loudly.

"Long time no see little one. I missed you too. I see Kakashi has been teaching you some basic throwing skills," noticing the shuriken in her hand.

"I start academy next week. I learned the shuriken whatever jutsu you showed me. Wanna see?" Naomi spoke all eager to share her tricks.

"Don't you mean shuriken kage bunshin no jutsu?" Minato inquired, entertained by his daughter's playful nature.

"Iie, shuriken whatever jutsu sounds much better, right Ojiisan?" she asked, looking up at the white haired man.

Jiraiya chuckled at that and he gently patted the top of her blonde head.

"Hai, much better. Alright show us!" Jiraiya spoke, excited as he watched Naomi's every move.

"Ok, Kakashi-kun ready?" Nami turned to the masked teenager next to her.

"Hai," he replied with a monotone, and he moved into the position to act as her target.

Nami's playful demeanor changed as she closed her eyes, concentrating on the move she was about to perform. Then, she opened her eyes and threw the shuriken towards Kakashi. She clasped her hands in the bunshin seal and she yelled forth.

"Shuriken kage bunshin no jutsu!"

The jutsu caused the shuriken to multiply and rush towards Kakashi. He swiftly moved out of the way, letting the shuriken barrage plummet into the oak tree behind him. Nami then threw her small fist in the air, celebrating her small victory.

"Nami-chan well done!" Kushina praised.

"I would not expect anything less from the daughter of Yondaime Hokage. Well done Nami-chan," Jiraiya said.

"Alright, let us go eat. The dinner will be cold," Kushina spoke and she ushered everyone into the house.

A month later.

It was way past midnight when the roar of the Kyuubi rung through the Konohagakure. The entire village was shaken as the bells rung from the Hokage tower, urging everyone to seek immediate shelter. Within the Namikaze household, young Nami awakened to the tremors that scattered throughout the whole village. She reached for her stuffed rabbit and called out.

"Papa! Mama!"

The door to her room opened, letting an intruder enter in and rush to her. The young masked ninja leaned down to Nami's level.

"Nami-chan, come we must go quickly. Grab onto me," Kakashi spoke as he motioned for her to climb onto his back.

"Kakashi-kun, where's mama…? and papa?" Nami spoke, still sleepy as she immediately grabbed onto Kakashi along with her rabbit.

"No time Nami-chan. We must go now," he replied and then he quickly carried her out of the crumbling house.

Kakashi bounced away from the danger as several of the homes fell due to the Kyuubi's attacks. He rushed towards the group of villagers and fellow ninja, keeping a firm hold on the youngest Namikaze. As they reached the group, the Yondaime Hokage erected a barrier, preventing Kyuubi from attacking Konohagakure and its people.

"Minato-sensei," Kakashi spoke softly as they looked up, in the distance seeing the fight occur between Kyuubi and the Yondaime.

Nami kept a hold on Kakashi, as she was scared and unsure of what was going on. She pressed her face into Kakashi's shoulder, hiding away from what she was witnessing. She kept hidden, her wet cheeks soaking through Kakashi's shirt.

"Nami-chan, are you alright?" Kakashi asked, as he still held her against his back.

She gently lifted her head up and muttered," I'm scared…"

Kakashi gently set her down and then gave her a gentle embrace.

"It's alright. I'll always keep you safe Nami-chan. Don't you worry, everything will be ok," Kakashi said.
