It was a Tuesday afternoon. Olivia was digging through her purse, looking for her keys "ugh," she groaned, rolling her eyes "finally," she pulled out the keys, locking the front door. She got in the car. Just as she started to pull out of the driveway, she got a call. "Hello," she answered.

"What time are you getting here?" He asked

"I'm coming; I just got out of the house. I'll be there In 20 minutes" she hung up before he could respond. Olivia arrived at his office; she took the elevator up to the 5th floor. As she was exiting the elevator, she held Jake's smoothie and some food she picked up on the way. Not exactly looking where he was going, Fitz bumped into her, spilling the smoothie onto himself and Olivia.

"I'm so sorry," he offered as he tried to dust her off.

"I should have been looking where I was going," he said, pulling a handkerchief from his left breast pocket holding it out for her to take.

"No, I'm just clumsy," she said, taking the cloth. At that moment, her eyes met his "thanks" she smirked.

He smiled, admiring her beauty. She had big brown eyes and smooth brown skin. He stared at her. Breaking himself from the trance, "Ugh, I'm late," he groaned.

Olivia wiped off her skirt and awkwardly handed him the cloth. "I don't know if you want this back."

"Thanks" he took the cloth, smiling.

"So um, you seem to know your way around here. Can you tell me how to get to room 515" he gave a boyish grin.

"Oh yea, I'm heading there right now."

Fitz picked up the soiled cups and napkins and Threw them in the nearest trash can. "So you must be new," she quipped.

"That obvious, huh" he blushed.

She smiled, saying, "it was obvious when you came hurling around the corner like that" they chatted briefly before entering the larger office.

Jake spotted Olivia and the mystery man. As she walked up, he noticed she was covered in what looked like vomit. He approached them. "Olivia, what are you covered in?" He asked, annoyed, glancing over to Fitz. Olivia broke from her conversation with Fitz.

"Hey babe, it's nothing I bumped into- " she chuckled, realizing she didn't know his name.

"Fitz," he chimed in, "actually, it's Fitzgerald Grant, but my friends and family call me Fitz, so Fitz," he smirked.

Jake turned to Fitz in shock. "Did you say, Fitzgerald Grant?" He asked incredulously.

"Yup, that's me," Fitz grinned.

Jake turned to Olivia, even more, annoyed now "you spilled a smoothie on my boss," he said

"Oh shit, I'm sorry I didn't know it was an accident," she apologized.

"Oh no, she's fine, it was an accident, and it was my fault," Fitz said, taking full responsibility.

Jake ignored what Fitz was saying. Leaning into Liv, "I'll see you at home," Jake said before turning and walking away. Obviously ticked off

"Uh, Jake," Liv called out. He turned around. She dangled his food in the air. "Aren't you forgetting something?" she sung, trying to lighten his mood.

"Throw it away. I'm not hungry anymore," Jake turned sharply, walking into the conference room.

"Thanks for your help," Fitz said before following behind Jake.

"No problem," Liv waved. She dropped the food in the trash just before getting on the elevator.

Olivia went home, and she took a shower and changed into some sweats; she went to her clay studio; when they moved in, Jake helped convert the basement into a studio for her. She was annoyed because Jake showed his ass over something that wasn't serious. This wasn't the first time, and she actually dreaded her husband coming home. Olivia didn't want to keep thinking about it. She put her headphones on and started molding clay.

Jake got home a couple of hours later. Jake grabbed a beer heading upstairs looking for Olivia, but she wasn't there. He automatically knew she was in the basement. Jake hated the smell of clay, so he rarely went down there "LIV!" He shouted for her; she had her headphones in calmly molding clay. she was in the process of finishing a sculpture she started three months ago. "OLIVIA," he shouted again, getting angry he thought she was ignoring him. Jake trotted downstairs, swiftly opening the door. Jake saw Olivia sitting on the stool, headphones on; instead of being calm, cool, and collected, he threw the beer bottle at the wall smashing it in front of Olivia.

She jumped from the stool, snatching her headphones off "you are stupid?!" She screamed

Jake stood there chuckling, "I called your name dumb ass, and you ignored me."

Olivia shook her headphones. "I couldn't hear you; why are you so extra" she huffed. Liv sat back down. "you really need to control yourself" she rolled her eyes."

Jake turned to leave "you're lucky I had a good day."

"Whatever," she remarked.

Jake stood at the top of the stairs "yea, whatever, bitch" he mumbled.

Olivia grabbed the broom and swept up the glass. After she was done, she turned out the lights and went upstairs. Jake was in bed watching the news.

"Hey babe, I'm sorry," he watched as she sat on her side of the bed.

"Are you?" Olivia asked, "you do this all of the time, and it's over the littlest things."

Jake pulled her towards him. "I really am sorry" Jake didn't care at all. He only apologized because he knew that's what she wanted to hear.

"Okay," Olivia turned and kissed him. "So how was work" she smiled, getting comfortable in bed.

"It was good; Mr. Grant is the new senior partner from the California office. He's Gerry's son."

Olivia raised her eyebrow. "Oh"

"Go figure huh, he's the type to get everything handed to him. I'm not surprised, but next time look where you're going. You could have got me fired."

"What?- you wouldn't have gotten fired; you're dramatic," she countered

"Yeah, maybe," he smirked.

Olivia turned over, adjusting her pillow "goodnight."

Jake sat straight up "you're going to bed," Jake asked, nudging her.

"Yup," she pulled the covers up.

"Hey hey, c'mon."

"Huh?" Olivia said, Turning over

"You know," he gestured to his piece.

"I'm tired" she turned back over.

"Why is it always a fight to get my wife to suck my dick. I don't understand," he complained.

"Because I don't want to, and I keep telling you that it's not something I like doing, and you keep asking me to do it" she rolled her eyes, Turing back over.

"Ok, sheesh, goodnight" Jake got up and went to the bathroom.

Olivia laid on the bed. She could see the light under the door; she wished he would stay in there. She couldn't stand being in the same room as her husband anymore. Sometimes she thinks the only reason she's still with Jake is that her mother told her "they wouldn't last," and she didn't want to prove her mother right. But she was "right" Olivia would never admit it, but it was true. She and Jake had been together for 3 years and married for a year and a half. They met at one of her low-budget art shows, but it was a start. Jake spotted her across the room. He approached her and said, "what is this thing?" he asked, not realizing she was the artist. She responded, "it's hideous," and they laughed, and ever since, they've been together. Maybe her mom and brother were right. She was too young, and Jake being ten years older didn't make it better. Her mother felt like he would consume her, and he did. Olivia dosed off after overthinking her whole life that quick.
