Authors Note: This fic will be AU fic, The Link used in the story will be the Link from OoT and MM, there will be some aspect of time travel but it will not be what the story is mainly focused on, I will be taking concepts and ideas from any of Zelda games, fanfiction, or manga. One thing is I will be making Link's mother appear in the story his origins will shape his decisions for the future.

Disclaimer: I do not own anything in this fic aside from my OC's and plot.

On a vast field three people stood, one was a young man wearing a green tunic, chainmail shirt underneath, traveling pants, brown boots, and a floppy hat, he had sandy blonde hair, blue eyes, pointed ears, he had a Hylian shield in one hand, and Master Sword in the other hand, his name is Link from Ordon village, the Hero of Twilight, bearer of the tri-force of courage.

The other figure was a female, with long brown hair, blue eyes, pointed ears, wearing a purple and cream color royal dress, she had an exquisitely crafted bow in her hands, an arrow of light drawn and aimed at the third figure, she was Zelda Princess of Hyrule, bearer of the tri-force of wisdom.

The third figure was an eight-foot-tall, massively muscled man, in brilliantly forged black armor, a blood-red cape hangs from his back, he had a sword made of light in his hand, he had dark brown skin, glowing amber eyes, flaming red hair, his name is Ganondorf Dragmire King of Evil, bearer of the tri-force of power.

They have been locked in combat for hours, they were all exhausted from the fighting more so the princess, than the hero and Ganondorf who could still keep going, watching all of this from a distance is a seven-foot-tall skeletal figure in ancient, damaged armor, he had a cracked spherical shield in his left hand, and a long sword in his right hand, he had on a damaged helmet where one glowing red eye could be seen, he was observing the fight with intense focus, the skeletal warrior is called the Hero's Shade, but he was once called Link the Hero of Time.

'It will soon be time for me to make my move, after all this time I will finally be able to get a hold on my own destiny once more!' The Shade thought as he watched the fight.

Link caught Ganondorf in an intense blade lock, Zelda took the chance to fire a light arrow packed with the last of her power at Ganondorf's unprotected back, the light arrow pierced his back calling forth a roar of pain from the desert king, his stance falters and Link took advantage of the opportunity to thrust the Master Sword into the Gerudo's chest, Ganondorf staggered back his sword falling from his hand, disbelief clearly shown across his face, it seems that they have won, they have defeated the king of evil.

Suddenly a shadowy figure appears behind Ganondorf startling the princess and hero, with a swift move the figure swings his blade severing Ganondorf's arm that houses the tri-force of power, the king howls in pain from his severed limb even as he is slowly dying from the Master Sword embedded in his chest, the shadowy figure moves from behind him revealing himself as the Hero's Shade shocking Link, but leaving Ganondorf and Zelda with confused looks on their faces, the Shade calmly walks to the severed limb picking it up, he places his skeletal hand over the tri-force of power it gives off an intense glow then transferred from the severed limb to his own, he released a malevolent laugh startling the others in the field.

"Hahaha! Finally! You have no idea how long I waited for a chance like this!" He turned his ominous red-eye to Ganondorf and said, "I think I understand how you felt the first time you had me deliver the Tri-Force to you all those years ago,"

"I don't know what you are talking about, I earned the tri-force with my own power! I depended on no one!" Ganondorf shouted in confusion, causing the Hero's Shade to freeze.

"So even you don't remember." The Hero's Shade said in such a broken way, the emotions he felt broadcasted through his broken voice, hurt, betrayal, sorrow, anger, and hate, the depth of the emotions shocking those listening to it.

"No matter," the Shade said in a frigid voice without emotion.

The Tri-Force of power on his right-hand starts to pulse with power, suddenly the dull bones return to healthy ivory white, flesh starts to surround the pristine bones, organs start to form, the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, and so on, blood vessels map over the fleshy interior, muscles covers the soft interior, lightly tanned skin then covers the exposed muscle, shimmering golden blonde hair falls from the back of the helmet, the ominous red eye is replaced with a fierce Sapphire blue eye, the entire morbid process transpired in less than a minute.

The shade grabbed the damaged helmet and tossed it away, his now long golden hair falls to his lower back, ripped, coiled muscles cover his limbs, strong chiseled chest, broad shoulders, his pointed ears showing through his mane of hair, his handsome mature face marred by a long scar over the left side of his face, a single glowing Sapphire blue eye looks to the dying king, slowly realization showed in his face, then he started laughing.

"I always wondered what happened to you, guess I finally have my answer," Ganondorf said as he finished laughing, confusing the hero and Princess.

"Yes, you do." Shade replied then sent a torrent of golden flames putting Ganondorf to rest finally, the master sword drops onto the scorched earth.

"Who are you?!" The Princess demands in terror after seeing him kill Ganondorf with the wave of a hand.

"Link of the Kokiri, Hero of the Gorons, Hero of the Zora, Honorary member of the Gerudo, Hero of Termina, and finally Link the Hero of Time," Shade reveals to the stunned princess and hero.

"You lie! There was no hero of time at all in the royal archives!" Zelda screams in defiance.

"Hahaha! Of course, they would not be a record of me, that bitch Zelda decided to erase all my efforts! She didn't ask what I wanted! She sent me to collect the stones, I did! She asked me to open the door to the sacred realm, I did! She asked me to clean up her mistake that ruined the kingdom, I did! Do you know what she did after all that!? She tossed me away like I was trash saying she could handle it, but once again I had to come back to clean up her mess again! I told her to stop the genocide, but she did nothing! I suggest I go back in time to fix it once more, she bans me from the castle and the temple of time, I died filled with regrets due to placing my trust in the wrong place, no more, it's my turn to take my fate into my own hands," Shade finished in an ominous tone of voice.

Out of the corner of his eye, Shade saw the Hero of Twilight stealthily approaching the master sword, shade shows no reaction to this, but as soon as the Hero touched the handle of the master sword golden chains burst from the charred earth piercing the Hero through his limbs, the Hero of twilight screams in excruciating pain echoing across the open field, Shade raised his right hand to stop a light arrow the princess fired at him in retaliation for the Hero he impaled, it hardly had any force behind it due to the previous fight with Ganondorf.

"How cute, the princess trying to save her hero as if you actually care," Shade said in a sarcastic voice.

"You are no hero, you are a monster!" Zelda shouts hysterically.

"Is that so," was Shade's response.

Shade then walks to the fallen master sword, Zelda and Link watch in disbelief as Shade casually takes up the Master Sword which shows no signs of resistance to his presence, Shade turns to them with a sardonic grin on his face.

"Did you really think it would resist me? You did didn't you, fools have I done anything for it to deem me evil, all I did was kill the king of evil, reclaim the tri-force of power, and restrained a foolish hero," Shade was saying all of this with an air of excitement he hasn't felt in centuries.

"Why did you help me?" Link asked in anger.

"Never do work you can have others do for you," Shade said simply, Link didn't seem to grasp the depth of that statement, but judging by the widening of Zelda's eyes she has figured it out.

"You used us to do it all because you couldn't do it yourself," Zelda said in a horrified voice.

"Always the wise but naive one huh, that is only part of it princess. One of the benefits of being able to cross through different planes of existence is that you learn a lot, like Ganondorf recruiting Zant, Midna getting turned into an imp, Hyrule getting trapped in Twilight, and the kids getting kidnapped prompting you on your adventure, it all came together beautifully for me to end up right here in this moment, so I thank you for playing your parts so brilliantly." Shade finished with a mocking bow.

"You bastard!!! You were playing us the whole time! How despicable can you be?!" Link roars at him.

"Just enough to get what I want, but still be recognized as a holder of the Master Sword," Shade replied easily with a sarcastic grin.

This renders Link and the princess dumbfounded.

"Well, it is time to move on," Shade said coldly then gold chains erupt from beneath the princess, piercing her limbs similar to the hero, high-pitched painful screams tear out of Zelda's throat, Link thrashed against his restraints trying to reach the princess.

"Don't bother it will be your turn soon enough 'Hero'," Shade said coldly then walked to the princess, as he stands before Zelda she tried to plead with him.

"You don't have to do this," Zelda said.

"I do," Shade replied.

"You are alive again, you don't need the rest of the tri-force!" Zelda pleads.

"I do," Shade said coldly.

"You can try to make a life again! We won't tell anyone about you!" Zelda starts getting hysterical.

"I want only what was taken, my choice." Shade said fiercely.

"Please," Zelda said brokenly.

He didn't answer her, he simply placed his hand over hers then starts to rip the tri-force of wisdom out of her body, white-hot pain surges through Zelda's body causing her to scream in terror and pain, tears fall from her eyes, broken pleas are made between her screams, yet he continues unaffected by any of it, a bright flash temporarily obscured their figures when it fades Shade had both the Tri-forces of power and wisdom, he stares down at the broken princess then gently placed her down and also healed her wounds, once he was done he walked over to Link who was staring at the sleeping princess.

"Will she be okay?" Link asked.

"Yes, now am I going to have to tear it out of you, or are you going to hand it over peacefully?" Shade asked.

He looked back at him fiercely answering Shade's question causing him to sigh with annoyance.

A flash of gold, and a few minutes of torturous screaming later, Shade had the tri-force of courage as well, now with all of the pieces of the tri-force in his possession Shade teleported to the temple of time leaving the hero and princess in the open field.

(Temple of Time)

Shade walks through the silent halls of the temple as he makes his way to the pedestal that housed the Master Sword, he looks at the blade in his hand feeling the weight of it brought back memories he could never forget, this only steeled his resolve to go through with his plan, he stops before the stone pedestal looking at it, he takes a deep breath then thrusts the sword into the pedestal a powerful wave of magic washed over him in a blue glow, he feels the familiar sensation of traveling through time something he hasn't felt in centuries.

(Temple of Time, The Past)

Shade steps back from the master sword disoriented from traveling back into the past, it takes a few minutes until he was able to collect himself, he looked at the familiar architecture of the temple feeling as if he was finally home.

A paralyzing surge of pain washes over him rendering him immobile for several minutes, after an untold amount of time the pain finally stops, this episode brought everything back in focus for Shade.

'I don't have time to reminisce, this was a one-way trip I can already feel my body withering away, it doesn't matter though I got what I wanted' Shade tighten his right hand into a fist, the mark of a tri-force was seen on the back of it, unlike the usual mark none of the triangles were glowing the reason was simple, Shade no longer had the tri-force he made a wish that no one can enter the sacred realm for at least a few thousand years, Shade has no desire for anyone to enter the realm of the gods anymore, which means no more new sages needing to die, if they awaken their powers they will need to learn it in the mortal realm, so Saria, Ruto, Nabooru, and Darunia will get to live their full lives, Shade didn't care for Zelda's loyal dog Impa or that old man Rauru, the mark was only there because of the residual power that was leftover from using all the of the Tri-force.

Shade sits down cross-legged so he can concentrate on the next part of the plan, he summoned all the magic within him, including the magic he took from Ganondorf, Link, and the Princess, the three faded triangles on his hand suddenly come alive with color specifically; Red for Power which contains Ganondorf's fire, lightning, and dark magic, Blue for Wisdom contains the princess's holy light magic, and her magical control, and Green for Courage which contains both hero's magic including the transformation magic allowing them to take on animal form.

A circular ring now surrounds the tri-colored mark, six symbols representing the respective elements of the six sages, though they are only small fragments of the sage's true abilities it gives him the base ability to control the elements of nature, water, fire, light, shadow, and sand.

With this now done he turns to the presence behind him, it is the Sage of Light Rauru who is frowning at him.

"Who are you?" Rauru asked.

"The Shade," Shade answers, while he continues to work on his preparations.

"What did you do to be here right now? And how can I sense the power of the sages from your person?" Rauru questions suspiciously.

"Doesn't matter you won't remember me anyway," Shade says from behind Rauru, where he hits him with a magic spell that will take away his memory of the last few hours, when Rauru drops to the floor the Shade that was in front of Rauru suddenly dissolved into shadows leaving only one Shade in the room.

"Fool," Shade takes out his Ocarina of Time and plays the Minuet of the Forest then dissolved into orbs of green light.

(Lost Woods, Forest Meadow)

He appears on a flat platform with the symbol of the tri-force and the forest medallion on it, he takes in a deep breath of fresh forest air, he shakes his head to refocus on his objective then starts making his way out of the Lost Woods, he easily navigates his way through the woods after spending centuries wandering them he could never get lost again, he makes it to the Kokiri village in record time but it seems no one is home he does not panic for he knows what happened today, so he makes his way to the Great Deku Tree where he sees all of the Kokiri surrounding the area in front of The Great Deku Tree, due to his height Shade can see that there is a woman who is bleeding heavily, who has a small bundle that she clutches to her breasts looking frightened by all the Kokiri around her, this angers Shade.

"Step away from her now!" Shade shouts causing the Kokiri to scatter and huddle away from the woman and child.

Now that they were not crowding her Shade could see her clearly, she was a blonde Hylian woman, dressed in traveling clothes that were soaked in blood, the cloak she wore was wrapped tightly around her wound to try and stem the flow of blood, her pale skin was sweaty from running from whoever was after her, yet her purple eyes were hardened and alert, she would have been beautiful if not for her injuries, she stared at him warily as he approaches her.

Shade stops in front of her to take in her features, 'could this be my mother?' He questions himself, he was going to speak when something caught his eye, there was a necklace around her neck, it was just a simple silver chain necklace with a small metal plate in the middle of it, nothing special, but it was the symbols on it that drew his attention they were the Sheikah symbols specifically ones for changing one's appearance, once he confirmed this Shade used his magic to rip it from her neck, she released a startling shout when it happened.

With the necklace removed her form changed, what was once a Hylian woman was someone else entirely, she had caramel-colored skin, crimson red eyes with a few flecks of amber in them, flaming red hair with streaks of white running through it, her ears were short similar to a Gerudo but still pointed at the ends, she had a frightened, angry look on her face, while she tightened her grip on her child.

'Of course, they lied about this as well, could not have the hero of Hyrule find out he is a male Gerudo could they, I mean it's not like with me as King of the Gerudo I could stop the war or anything,' are the sarcastic thoughts running through Shade's head as he stares at his mother.

"Why did you do that?" She asked him.

"I had to know the truth," was Shade's response.

"What truth?" She asked in confusion.

"You'll see." Shade reached out swiftly as he said this grabbing her face in his right hand.

(Shade's domain)

Suddenly she was no longer in a forest dying, surrounded by children, she was in a world made of grey with only the man who grabbed her as company.

"What is this place?" She demands angrily, she was anxious to get back to her son.

"This is my domain, it is only used for training or for the rare conversation that I need to happen in complete privacy," Shade said answering her query.

"Can you send me back? I need to spend my last moments with my son, not some strange man," she says hotly.

"Answer a few questions and we're done, so what is your name? The real one, not the alias you use to blend in with the Hylians," Shade asked.

She is shocked at the question, she hesitates to answer but knows she can't escape without answering him.

"My birth name is Alyssa of the Gerudo," the now-named Alyssa said.

"Alyssa, what a beautiful name," Shade said the name in reverence, he had just learned his mother's name something he never did before today, a shudder passed through his body signaling that his body is failing 'No! I just found her! Why is time so cruel!' Shade had to focus as much as wants the answers to the questions that has plagued him his whole life it has to wait.

"How did you give birth to a son when only one male Gerudo is born every century?" Shade asked.

"That is just something we tell outsiders, in truth Gerudo can give birth to sons it is just only rarely does one survive, the odds are one in a hundred even then most still die, we call this curse the desert scourge, we have no idea how it started or how to break it, it is said in ancient Gerudo civilization that men were more plentiful back then before the women became warriors the men protected us, an unknown disaster struck the Gerudo and from then on the numbers of men kept decreasing until now, the reason we make a Gerudo male our King is because a Gerudo male is three to four times more powerful than any female Gerudo, and any Gerudo child made from a union of a male and female Gerudo is stronger than average, they also have a higher chance of birthing a boy," Alyssa reveals to Shade shocking him.

'So that is why Nabooru needed the Silver Gauntlets to fight Ganondorf, even though she was the strongest beside Ganondorf both in combat arts and magical arts,' Shade rips himself from those thoughts before he loses himself in them.

"I don't know why my son survived, I am just happy he did, even though those witches Twinrova tried to kill us both before I escaped in the forest," Alyssa said quietly.

"Why did you tell me all this don't you have any reservations on revealing your people's secrets," Shade asked.

"They let that bastard Ganondorf kick me out when I refused to spread my legs for him in his desire to create hybrid Sheikah Gerudo children to strengthen the tribe, only that brat I used to teach Nabooru and a few other friends spoke up for me," Alyssa said.

"I see, thank you for answering my questions, you may now go back to your son," Shade said then sends her spirit back to her body despite how much he wants to save her he can't she is too far gone for that.

This new information about his origins and the history of his people was very enlightening, this also explained what he felt when he had to fight against and kill Gerudo warriors, it always felt a bit off like he was missing something when he heard about the planned genocide he had done all he could do to stop it except downright betrayal of his vows by killing the members of the Hylian leadership that supported this plan including the new king, the fallout from his actions was one of the reasons he stopped, he couldn't stomach at the time plunging Hyrule into civil war just for a chance to stop the genocide of the Gerudo, plus with none of his friends truly remembering or knowing him meant he had no influence over their actions especially with the Gerudo who hated or distrusted all Hylians, and the other races that didn't offer them any aid.

He now had plans that needed to change, he also has another reason to help Nabooru now, but it is not the time.

It is time to finish things.

Shade fades from the realm.

(Back in the Kokiri forest)

Shade observed the situation, his mother was dying it was more evident now, her eyes were dazed the flicker of life almost completely gone from them, he caramel skin was deathly pale, her breaths were shallow if not for the silence of the grove one could not hear it, her fierce hold on her son was faltering verifying that her death is only moments away.

Shade touched her again giving her a little boost with his magic for just this moment.

"Alyssa I know you have no reason to believe my words, but your son will live a harsh life full of regrets if nothing is done, so I ask your permission to bequeath my power onto him so he will be strong, protected, and live a life without regrets," Shade pleads with her with his emotions on full display.

She was silent for a moment, looking him right in the eyes trying to find a lie, but all she found was the truth, so she asked one question.

"Why?" Alyssa asked.

Shade brought his mouth to her ear and whispered, "my name is Link," when he pulled back to face her she was staring at him in disbelief, 'I don't have time for this she is dying I need a parents permission,' Shade used his magic to show her the major parts of his life, and his regrets he had wanted to avoid this because he never wanted her to see him so broken down, but time is of the essence.

Many emotions played across her face, horror, guilt, grief, anger, joy, and hope, she hugged Shade even with her weak arm around him it was the most powerful feeling he has ever felt, he held her close carefully making sure not to break physical contact for even a moment or she would die without the constant flow of his magic.

"I'm sorry, for leaving you alone my son," Alyssa said through tears.

"I never blamed you, you died ensuring I lived, and now I know your name and that you truly loved me I could never feel more complete than I do in this moment with you," Shade said while silently crying.

"I will always love you! Never doubt that ever!" Alyssa said fiercely.

"I know, I know mother," Shade said with raw emotion.

They held each other for a minute enjoying each other then Alyssa broke the silence.

"You have my permission, I don't know why you need it but I am sure I can trust you with your own life, now can't I," Alyssa said to Shade.

"Thank you mother, and goodbye," Shade said preparing to let go.

"Goodbye son, wait don't you want to know who your father is?" Alyssa asked.

"I know all I need to know about that man." Was Shades clipped response.

"You blame him, don't you? He had no choice and I don't blame him," Alyssa said.

"He chose his duty over his family, and one thing the life I have lived taught me is that there is always a choice. I don't want our last moments to be marred by this, so let me hold you one last time," Shade said the hugged her again.

Alyssa hugged him back choosing to enjoy her final moments with both her sons, she passed away while still in Shades embrace magic only able to halt the inevitable for so long.

He laid her body carefully on the ground, then removed Link from her arms, then folded her hands peacefully on her chest, she had a bright smile on her face showing she died in peace.

"Keep her body safe in your grove, and make sure to tell him where to find her when he is ready to see her," Shade said this to the Great Deku Tree who has been silently watching all this time.

"I will do as you asked, and I will tell the child when it is necessary to do so," the Deku Tree's elderly voice resonates in the grove.

'When you deem it necessary you mean, which is never,' were the thoughts going through Shade's head, Shade felt it before he saw it, the skin on his left hand was withering away, and soon his whole body will follow.

Shade makes his preparations quickly, he creates a barrier so that neither the Great Deku Tree or the Kokiri could see or interfere in what happens next, he constructs a ritual circle that mirrors the mark on his right hand, the six symbols of the sages light up accordingly, then the tri-colored mark lights up, Shade placed Link into the very center of the ritualistic circle then starts to chant in an ancient language long forgotten by mortal ears, power starts to churning in the air deafening the chants he was making, and the cries of the baby, soon enough the lights from the six symbols start to converge on the center of the circle entering Link's body the child screams in pain, but Shade doesn't stop he pushes through the six respective magical natures carves through Link's toddler body creating pathways and foundations for the flow of magic, this was a potentially lethal process regardless of age but children have the highest chance of survival, it us usually the pain or the incompetence of the one doing it, luckily ever since Shade found this specific ritual he has had decades to practice it over and over again until it was perfect he was able to cut down the pain experienced, and he had full confidence Link would definitely survive it, as the first six elements subsides Shade starts the next part, the glowing Ruby red triangle pulsed as its magic starts to enter Link's body this one will be the hardest transfer to complete due to the differences with the base magical nature of Ganondorf's compared to Link's magical nature, when the magic begins to take root the pathways made for fire easily adjusts to the fire magic of Ganondorf, the pathways for the shadow had some heavy adaptation done to it to make the dark magic take root it was painful for Link but not as much as creating a new pathways, the lightning magic had to create it's own pathways and foundation which was excruciating for Link, now Shade had to carefully flow in the raw magic he has harvested Ganondorf at least what he could spare for he needed most of it to power the ritual, next the Sapphire blue triangle pulsed transfering the power to Link, this process went very easy the holy light magic easily took root, Zelda's ingrained magic control took root as well giving Link a much easier time learning magic going forward, her magic gave him back some vitality, finally the emerald green triangle pulsed sending its power into Link, this time the magic just flowed in as if returning home, It also strengthened Link's body boosting his regenaration, reflexes, muscle density, magic capacity, cognitive acuity, and his vitality, with all parts done the ritual was finished.

The barrier he constructed was beginning to break down along with his body, Shade no longer has any flesh on his body he has completely reverted to his skeletal form, but he still has things to do, he takes out his enchanted equipment belt setting it down beside Link then placing his skeletal both on the belt and Link's right hand a few ancient words are spoken then the mark on Shade's hand transfer to Link's the equipment belt being absorbed into the the mark now on Link's hand, 'I don't trust them to do anything I asked, but he will have it when he is ready, and I will be there to make sure it happen,' , now Shade does his last task the only true way he can be absolutely sure Link never ends up like him is to be there to guide him, not in physical form but a spiritual form, that was why Shade needed permission Alyssa so he could house his spirit in Link's body even if it's on a temporary basis, for as much as he never wants Link to end up like him, it is Link's life, Link's choice, Shade will only help him grow up prepared not ignorant, strong not weak, free not caged by destiny, the moment Link touches the Master Sword for the first time Shade will die just as he plans.

The barrier fully fades away and so does Shade's body leaving the sleeping Link in the grove.

The Kokiri slowly approaches as if expecting the armored man to pop up out of nowhere.

"There is no reason to fear, the stranger has gone just as the woman has, Saria I ask you to take care of young Link, raise him as one of our own from today onward this is his home," The Great Deku Tree said to the Kokiri.

A girl with forest green hair in Kokiri garbs walks to the infant Link picking him up then nodded to Deku Tree, and proceeded to walk back to the village with the rest of the Kokiri following behind her.

'The child's aura has changed, he has been made stronger, luckily the stranger is gone so the child will grow under my careful gaze so that he will fulfill his destiny ordained by the goddesses,' thought the Great Deku Tree watching the Kokiri and young Link.

(Link's Mindscape)

In a pure White world that expands endlessly a lone majestic golden fur-coated wolf with glowing crimson red eyes lays down resting.

A toddler was also there resting on the wolf's side.

(10 years later)

Large majestic trees with thick branches full of leaves, small woodland creatures run around in the early morning hours, sunlight from the sunrise peeking through the thick foliage of the trees, small forest spirits fly around in leisure in the safety of the magical forest, just a regular day in the enchanted forest of the Lost Woods.

Three figures were seen moving through the forest using the trees at high speeds.

One of the figures were revealed to be an orange-haired Kokiri, he had pointed ears, blue eyes, a splatter of freckles on his face, wearing a green tunic, boots, and a small-cap, brown belt with a small pouch tied to it, a wooden sword strapped to his back with a green fairy flying over his right shoulder, he is Mido of the Kokiri.

The other figure was a female Kokiri, she had forest green hair, emerald green eyes, she wore a green tunic with a dark blue long-sleeve undershirt, shoes, dark green belt with a pouch tied to it, short wooden staff strapped to her back, a bright pink fairy flying over the left shoulder, she is Saria of the Kokiri.

The last figure was also the largest standing at 5'2", he has back-length braided shimmering golden blonde hair, bright Amethyst eyes with flecks of amber in them, lightly tanned skin-tone, toned, fit physique, green tunic, white long-sleeve undershirt, green short pants, leather boots, leather greaves along his shins and forearms, enchanted equipment belt around his waist, Deku shield and wooden sword strapped to his back, he is Link of the Kokiri.

Link's life with the Kokiri has been joyful for him, even though he was different from everyone else he easily made friends with the Kokiri, he was charming, charismatic, confident, funny, intelligent, compassionate, honest, helpful, and adventurous. He is always inventing new games for the Kokiri to play making him very popular, this brought ire from Mido the boss of the Kokiri that caused a few incidents between them but Link made peace with him and they became the best of friends, along with Saria who was always at Link's side.

"Ha! Do you think I will lose to you again Link!" Mido shouted

"Oh really, that's what you said last time!" Link shouted back.

"Guys! We should not be competing! We should be having fun!" Saria shouts.

"Of course, you would say that you always lose!" Link shouts back at her.

There was an eerie silence after that, Saria stops for a moment with her hair covering her face, suddenly there is a wave of magic washing over the woods they are traveling through.

"You know you should not have done that! You know how she gets!" Mido shouted at Link while picking up speed to put distance between them and Saria.

"Come on, it makes it more fun and challenging!" Link shouts excitingly matching pace with Mido.

Saria doesn't move for a minute then it is as if the forest came alive chasing after them.

"Link! You mad man! This is all your fault!" Mido complains as he evades a series of attacks from enchanted vines.

"I take full responsibility! This is awesome!" Link is completely happy about the situation, evading all the attacks with an impressive display of acrobatic skill without losing any speed at all.

Twenty minutes later, a captured Mido, a fuming Saria, and a laughing Link were resting a small spring.

"Hahaha!, you always get caught Mido, maybe you like being tied up by Saria, and maybe she likes tying you up," Link says taking up thinking pose completely unfazed by the glares burning into his back.

"You always do this, maybe you like watching me being tied up," Mido accused.

There was a silence after that statement, Saria and Link looking away from Mido.

"Mido I am sorry but I don't like you that way," Link says softly, "what if Saria gets jealous, we have to stay friends okay," he finishes saying with a smirk then darts back to the village leaving his dumbfounded friends.

(Link's Treehouse)

Link is sitting down cross-legged on his bed in a deep meditative trance, a light aura of magic is seen covering his body.

(Link's Mindscape)

Link is locked in a fierce sword fight with Shade, they have been at this for hours now, Link goes for a downward slash but Shade disarmed him winning the fight.

"I will beat you one day," Link says between breaths.

"I am sure you will," Shade said.

"So tomorrow is the day huh?" Link asked.

"Yes, tomorrow is the start of everything, you will not fail we have been preparing for this, you are knowledgeable, strong, and driven, just don't make the mistakes that I did and you will be fine," Shade said.

"Should I trust her?" Link asked hesitantly knowing it's a delicate subject.

"That is your choice, all I know is she left me at my lowest and never looked back, or explain," Shade said harshly ending the conversation fading from Link's view.

Link sighs then he too fades away.

(real world)

Link opens his eyes then falls back on his bed, he should have know that is how Shade would have reacted to talking about Navi.

For as long as Link can remember Shade has always been there for him, he taught Link to read, write, talk, walk, he helped Link know his mother's name and where she comes from, he taught Link about the other races of Hyrule, he taught him magic and fighting, he taught him how to play the magical songs for his Ocarina, he shared stories about his life, most importantly he told Link who he was and why he was here, he answered all his questions, Shade has only ever repeated two things, make your own choices, and never become him for he is an example of someone who gave his faith and trust to the wrong people, now all he has is regrets, it was Shades mantra and he made sure Link never developed any habits he deemed wrong, he made sure Link was an early riser, he made sure Link didn't forget he was not a Kokiri so he should never think of himself as one, he made Link adopt a mix of Hylian and Gerudo values, the best of both worlds he said, he made sure Link knew all the languages of the races that he knew.

Link trusts him completely even if he says he should not, so Link will take his advice and keep a close eye on Navi when he meets her.

Link closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep, looking forward to tomorrow.
