A/N hey guys long time no see :) in honor of in the heights i decided to post a story that i have been thinking about for a while now where it is based on the songs the club and blackout from the show. i hope you enjoy XOXO
Emily walked into the bar down the street that Aaron and Seth would go to at the end of hard days. She scanned the bars and spotted Aaron sitting down with a cup of whiskey in hand. Taking a deep breath before pushing her way through the busy bar walking to him. "Aaron can we take a walk outside." she said coming up next to him leaning against the bar.
"And there she is" he said glancing up at her before taking another sip of his drink
"I'm so sorry I didn't know it would end up this bad." she said, trying to place a comforting hand on his arm but he shook her off.
"Who let you in. yo this is the girl who cost me my job today." he said shouting. Emily gave an apologetic look.
"I'm gonna make it right." Emily said, trying to get him to look at her.
"A toast to the end of all i know" he said holding up his drink
"You've had enough" she said, taking the drink from his hands before he drank the rest of his drink, pulling it away from him.
"Says the girl who gets it all." he said standing up finally looking at her.
"That's not fair." she said, shaking her head, now too scared to look at him.
"So why don't you run to kirkman he loves to remind me thats ill never be good enough for his administration,for you." he said lowering his voice
" you don't know me" she said looking up at him, feeling the tears slightly coming up in her eyes.
"Poor you." he said, his hand inching toward the drink on the counter.
"I thought you were different." she said shaking her head
"Salud" he said taking the drink downing it before shoving the glass into her hands and making his way to the dance floor. Emily shook her head before sinking into the stool he was sitting in before ordering a drink. Emily looked over her shoulder and she saw Aaron dancing with a blonde staring right at her clearly trying to make her jealous. She turned back around because it was clearly working. God two nights ago they were making out on his couch and now he's dancing with that girl. After a couple minutes a guy walked up behind her flirting with her. She flirted back just trying to make Aaron jealous as well. Next thing she knew the guy's shoulder was being turned and then he got punched in the face. Emily jumped back before seeing aaron and the guy fighting. She tried pulling Aaron off but eventually gave up grabbing her bag walking toward the door when all the lights went out like all the lights including the street lights. Everyone started rushing to the doors. Pushing Emily's small frame between them as she tried getting out.
"Emily where'd you go. Emily slow down im right behind you." she heard aaron shouted from behind her. She kept walking trying to ignore him once she made her way into the street. It was pitch black she couldn't see anything, ok she really needed Aaron now.
"Aaron" she shouted as she looked around before getting honked at at a car trying to get past as she walked backward tripping over the curb falling back. She stood up and just tried walking somewhere. She stopped hearing Aaron yelling after her. He left her in the dark and craziness. Out of nowhere fireworks started going off in the sky as she looked up she saw Aaron looking right at her before starting to push through the people.
"Emily emily wait." he yelled trying to get her attention she quickly turned around walking away from him. Out of nowhere she felt someone hand wrap around her arm turning her around.
"Emily there you are." he said, keeping his hand on her arm.
"I've gotta go," she said, pulling her arm out of his hand and turning around.
"I'll get out of here tonight." he said, grabbing her hands and pulling her down the street.
"I don't need anything tonight. I can find my way home without you." she said pulling her hand out of his walking back bumping into someone. they pushed her off of them pushing her into the aaron who pulled her up by grabbing her arms looking at her for a second before pulling her into him kissing her. She just stood there for a second before bringing her hands up to his face. He pulled away looking at her.
"Let's get out of here." he said, grabbing her hand and pulling her down the street intertwining the fingers. Grabbing his phone from his pocket turing on his flashlight He pulled her up to make sure she was walking next to him. Wrapping his arm around her waist she rested her head on his chest before they made their way to his car as they got to it Emily leaned against his car as he stood in front of her his hands on her hips he pressed his forehead to hers. She brought he hands holding onto his lapels "i'm sorry about all that" he said
"I got it, I delivered it." she grimmly laughed
"God no." he said, rubbing her sides. "I should get you home." he said without moving a muscle. Emily shook her head
"I don't want to go home." emily said she looked up at him
"You can come back to my place." he offered
"Should you be driving" she asked
"Yeah im fine this all sobered me up. Come one." he said pulling her off the car opening the door. She got in while he closed her door before walking around his car and getting in. The streets were crazy. He reached across the middle console grabbing Emily's hands intertwining their fingers and bringing her hand to his lips giving it a kiss. Emily looked over at him smiling before resting her head on their hands and Aaron tried to make his way through the craziness in the streets when Emily's phone beeped. She let go of his hand leaning down grabbing it from her purse.
"It's from the president telling us to stay home and not try to come into the white house till the lights come on." she said putting her phone back into her purse before leaning back and grabbing aarons hand again. After an hour drive that is normally a 15 minute drive Aaron and Emily pulled up to aarons apartment complex. They got out of the car and walked up the stairs to his apartment. They walked into his apartment and Aaron took Emily's jacket and bag before walking to the kitchen lighting candles. "Do you want some clothes to change into." aaron asked walking into the living roo.
"Yeah that would be nice." she asked, walking up to him.
"Okay" he laughed giving her a kiss on the top of her head before grabbing her hand bringing her into his bedroom he left her to walk into his closet she sat down on his bed he walked out and handed her a shirt and pair of sweatpants. "You can get changed in the bathroom if you want." he laughed at how nerviorse to be at his place. Honestly he always thought the first time she was over she would start with the door flying open and them sleeping together not them getting stuck in a black out she stood up walking toward the bathroom aaron grabbed her hand pulling her to him giving kissing her again placing a hand on her jaw. She kissed back bringing her hand to rest on his chest. He pulled away and they kinda just looked at each other for a second. "Go get changed." he he said looking down at her.
"Okay, '' she said, turning around again, walking into the bathroom, closing the door behind her. As she changed. She pulled the drawstring on his sweatpants which were still pretty big on her. When she opened the barn style bathroom door she saw aaron lying on his bed in a pair of sweatpants his head resting against his headboard swiping his phone
"They fit you ok." he asked looking up at her resting his phone in his lap
"Yeah, yeah they fit fine thanks for letting me borrow them." she said standing there awkwardly not really knowing what to do.
"Are you gonna come lay down?" he laughed, pulling the comforter out telling her to come lay down next to him.
"Yeah yeah." she said walking toward him playing the sweatpants she's wearing. She laid down next to him pulling the blanket over her legs when Aaron wrapped his arm around her shoulders bringing her to lay on his chest. "Anything about the blackout." she said getting comfortable looking at his phone while he was sweeping through his phone
"No, not really all it's saying is that it might be out till the morning." he said, running his fingers up and down her arm that was now wrapped around his torso.
"Aaron." Emily said, her voice clearly getting serious. "I'm sorry about the whole investigation thing." she said quietly, making sure not to look up at him.
After taking a breath she felt him place a kiss on her head and mutter into her hair. "I know"
"If it really means that much to you I won't take the job." she said, sitting up resting her hand on his bare chest.
"No at least if it's you I know it is someone who at least kind of knows what they are doing." he said trying to lighten the mood. "Hey we're gonna be fine stop worrying." he said seeing the look on her face pulling her back down and started running his fingers through her hair. and she knew he was right because as long as she had anything to do with it they would be fine.
