Judai managed to pry the back door of the church open. He was desperate and today was the day he dreaded since he first heard about it from his friends.
"Aniki, did you hear the news?" His childhood friend Sho ran up to him, him being 23 and still slightly shorter than him, his light blue hair making up the difference. It was after work and the two were enjoying a meal together.
"What news..? What's got you excited buddy?" Judai took a sip of his drink as Sho sat down and started talking his grey eyes lighting up behind his thin frame glasses.
"Johan's engaged! He's getting married in 4 months!" The reaction to the new was disasterous, Judai spit out his drink all over his friend all while dropping said glass to the floor as it shattered under his feet, the tea he was drinking soaked his socks and shoes.
"Your joking right…W-who's he marrying..?" As far as Judai was aware both him and Johan were gay out of their group of friends in reality about 6 other guys in their group was gay as well.
Ryo, Fubuki, Edo, Kenzen Jim and Manjome were all gay and either dating each other or messing around. The only thing was Johan and Judai didn't know
"Asuka." His eyes buldged at his friends next words which to him sounded obsurd. There's no way Johan would've gone through it! He was gay before Judai even came out of the closet!
Hell Johan was the reason he came out of the closet so the two of them would be even closer, despite Judai's longing crush on the teal haired male.
During the 4 months, he only saw a glimpse of his high school and college best friend. Being in their 20's and having started college together at the same time when they were 18, Johan and Judai were an inseparable duo that did stuff together, even if it was just studying for tests, or playing duel monsters as their hobby.
Whenever he ran into Johan, he'd be adamant about finding out why he and Asuka were getting wedded. It was driving him crazy, even his parents who were always away on business wouldn't say it.
A few days before the wedding was the Bachelor party. Judai arrived as the events got under way that time. Manjome, Ryo, Fubuki, Edo, Sho, Kenzen, Jim, O'Brian and Johan was there along with Johan's older brother Jehu, who just spent the party in the corner harassing Judai's older brother Haou who Judai made come just to keep Jehu from annoying him and Johan all night.
"So getting hitched, Andersen? What a surprise." Jim cackled a bit that night. Between the guys they were surprised that this event was even happening and it wasn't Judai being the one he was getting hitched to.
Sho cupped his face worriedly. "I find it odd that your getting hitched in the first place, Johan-San. Dont your family know your gay?"
Johan grimanced heavily. Judai looked at his life time crush and best friend in deep confusion. His parents should've known by now that Johan was gay, right? Johan's green emerald eyes which were always full of light and joy looked sadden and cold. He pressed his lips before speaking. "They don't care… I've told them before, they deny the fact."
Fubuki, Asuka's older brother and fellow gay friend stood up and leaned over the table at Johan. "So if they're denying it.. that means Asuka didnt.." "She didn't correct them." Johan finished Fubuki's sentence.
Fubuki always knew that Asuka would do whatever their parents asked of her. Fubuki knew these two marrying would bring nothing but misery for them, but riches for the two families, since both were incredibly wealthy.
The two meek adults to these families would put aside their own happiness in order to make their own families happy.
Judai looked frustrated and angered. "No! You can't let the wedding continue! Johan you deserve your happiness." His chest burned with pain over the idea of his crush and best friend walk down the aisle to marry his female friend over such trashy meaningless reasons.
Johan looked at his brunette best friend, a sad smile on his face. "I can't, Judai… Ive accepted my fate. My parents won't listen and nobody can change their minds…" Their friends looked equally torn. They knew what being gay meant to Johan. His freedom, his personality, his flamboyant behavior. It was apart of him as much as being gay was.
To see their friend a shell of his beautiful self made them ache internally. Edo's eyes darted to Manjome who shook his head touching his knee comfortingly. Ryo squeezed Fubuki's hand who looked like he was gonna scream because he was so frustrated by his own parents careless disregard.
Even with the tension in the air, Jim being his charming self snapped everyone out of it by suggesting they play strip poker with a twist.
The twist being they had to do a dare along side the clothing discardment. "Oooh sounds interesting." Sho being one of the two straight men, the other being O'Brian, found the game to be embarrassing and fun.
Of course the couples in the group practically cheered at the idea, mostly cause they all got a free show of looking at each other without making their partner jealous since it was a game.
Judai and Johan both turned bright red at the idea as well.
Judai looked around the halls of the church looking for a place to keep hidden. Why was he trying to hide at his own best friend and crushes wedding?
Well he found out that Asuka who knew Judai loved Johan, in an act to keep her parents pleased, told him he couldn't attend, because she knew he'd be the one to oppose the wedding during the wedding.
This upset both Johan and Judai who even tho he was trying to be supportive would've done exactly as she said he would've. He wasn't gonna deny he cared for his friends livelihood and his own expression very deeply. Johan was being smoothered by his family and Asuka's.
Johan looked desperately at Asuka the minute she broke the news to the both of them shortly after their fun nights, the bachelor and bachelorette parties. "I'm sorry Judai but you can't come to the wedding or the reception.." Judai clenched his fists wanting to speak out against it. Johan beat him to it.
"You can't do this Asuka! Judai's my dearest best friend! He has to be there..!" Asuka looked to Johan her eyes gleaming with unshed tears. She knew what this would do to the both of them, but she knew Judai's resilience.
He wouldn't back down from trying to interrupt the wedding, so him being forbid from coming all together made it safer for them. "I'm sorry Johan, but my foot is down…" she doesn't look at the two best friends as she briskfully leaves the room trying to cover the tears she was shedding for them.
Judai looked up at his best friend who was trembling in rage and sadness as the bluenette drops back onto the couch his hands pressed to his face as he lets out a choked sob.
His heart ached as he in one motion held his best friend in his arms his own tears rolling down his face as he let Johan bury his face into his chest to sob while his own tears fell into the mess of teal blue hair he had.
"I'm so sorry, Ju-Chan… it's not fair.." Johan's hands clenched his shirt in his hands as he sobbed. Judai just held him close his hands stroking his back and hair simultaneously as he looked down at him.
"Don't worry Jo-kun… I'll make sure I'm there… you won't see me but I'll be there…" He promised his sobbing friend.
He snuck into the large chapel room, people were still arriving. The priest wasn't there yet and Johan, Asuka and their parents were still in the back where he came from, getting themselves changed and ready for the event.
Judai cleaned up himself as well, having rented something not his usual color, a grey suit with a red button down on the inside with a black tie to complete the weird trifecta he was pulling off, oddly enough it looked good on him. He knew it wasn't the standard thing to wear at a wedding, but he was here to crash it and take the groom away.
He could see their friends, Johan's and Asuka's extended families already in the pews. Her family wore pastel colors that reminded Judai of light baby colors. From shades of light blue, light green, light pink and light purple.
What off set that was the colors of the tuxes Judai and Johan's friends wore. He noticed Kenzen first who wore an Army green colored tux, his boyfriend Jim had a deep brown tux that closely matched Kenzen's skin tone.
Sho wore a deep sky blue tux while his brother wore a deep ocean blue one to match his sibling. Manjome was the normal case who wore simple off black tux, Edo wearing his standard silver tux. All the guys wore bow ties that seemed to match their suits while their button downs were a lighter shade of what they were wearing.
Fubuki managed to pull off a mahogany tux while O' Brian donned a deep orange tux. Each of the males were checking to make sure the other either looked well, fit good or even had their tie, tied up right.
"This is so uncomfortable…" Kenzen was the first to complain pulling at his collar which was making his neck itch. Jim patted his partners arm as he ushered him to seat. "Cmon, mate let's get a good seat alright?" Kenzen complied grumbling about the tight suit.
Manjome sat between Ryo and Sho who was overly anxious and Ryo who was fussing with Fubuki who was shedding premature tears. He didn't want the male to be puffy faced for the pictures after the wedding.
O'Brian just sat next to Jim who didn't mind him being seated next. Judai couldn't recognize Asuka's extended family nor could he recognize from the hospital detection.
In the back Johan was having a panic attack his brother and best man Jehu was trying to relax him as his boyfriend and Judai's older brother, Haou was giving his neck and back a massage. "I-i can't go in there damnit..! Judai..- Judai was supposed to be here..!" His fists were clenched as he punched and broke the mirror in front of him as he cried out sharply his hand a a slight cut on it.
"Johan Andersen, I get your upset. But you have to get out there all those people came here for you…!" Jehu and Haou had a secret they kept from their brothers and that was, they was gay the whole time and had been doing everything they could too keep it from their parents.
The only thing Johan hadn't realized was, his deep feelings for his brunette partner and best friend. He hated him not being here and it was gonna kill him before the night was over.
"Your gonna go in there and be the best damn groom you can be alright??" Haou patted his back. Both chose to wear a dark navy tux and a midnight black tux respectively. Johan himself had on a teal tux to match his wonderful hair and a emerald green button down.
Johan with his head down let the two older siblings lead him to the church altar the three barely passing a hidden Judai hiding behind the curtains..
I'm not the kind of girl
Who should be rudely barging in on a white veil occasion
But you are not the kind of boy who should be marrying the wrong girl.
The three men stood at the altar, the priest was there going over with Johan, his vows. Johan was pale and nervous as he tries to memorize what he's gonna say.. Judai's eyes held pain and sympathy for his dear crush and best friend. Soon it would come to and end, he clenched his fists at his side.
I sneak in and see your friends
And her snotty little family, all dressed in pastel
And she is yelling at a bridesmaid
Asuka was frustrated by her own feet. She was pacing heavily, her nerves were fried because her parents had invited everyone. She wanted it to be small between the two families to get married but no, her parents had to invite her much successful cousin Jack Atlas. She hoped and prayed that he would be needed elsewhere but it was 20 minutes until the wedding began and so far luck and timing was not on her side.
Somewhere back inside a room wearing a gown shaped like a pastry
This is surely not what you thought it would be
I lose myself in a day dream
"Just relax Asuka-Chan. It's gonna go well I promise!" Rei was fixing her make up and behind her, Yubel was fixing her hair for the final touch before putting her veil on. Her dress was a cream color rather than a normal white color. The bridesmaids wore more of a peach color dresses that ended just under their knees with an off shoulder sleeves.
Where I stand and say
Don't say yes runaway now i'll meet you when your out
Of the church at the back door
Asuka looked herself over a smile on her face as her nerves receded. She felt beautiful and looked just as amazing. "Let's get this wedding going.." The two bridesmaids giggle as they get her ready to leave the room shortly.
Don't wait or say a single vow
You need to hear me out
And they said, speak now
Judai looked around, noticing the place getting more settled. He assumed the wedding was about to begin. His eyes drifted to the altar where Johan stood, his teal blue hair sticking upward and his green eyes filled with hesitation and a slight bit of sadness. Judai knew Johan was wishing he was there next to him for this moment.
Fond gestures are exchanged
And the organ starts to play
A song that sounds like a death March
Johan sighs looking around the room as he tried to hard to make sure tears didn't make their way down his face. He couldn't cry in this situation where his relatives could see him. It hurt him not to have his closest person in the world by his side.
And I am hiding in the curtains
It seems that I was uninvited by your
Lovely bride-to-be
It hurt even more deep in his chest and heart that the one he wanted to be with more than anything was the same person as the one forced to stay away from the wedding. 'Judai..it's not right that your not here…' He clenched his eyes shut as tears tried to form.
She floats down the aisle like
a pageant queen
And I know you wish it was me
From the curtains Judai felt the pain of hurt in his chest, he knew Johan was struggling not to cry at the altar wishing for him to be there. 'Johan, hang in there… I'm gonna stop this wedding and take you away from this..' The brunette clenched his fists to his chest his eyes clenched tightly as he glared at the floor. It angered him to see the one thing he loved the most hurt and in pain.
You wish it was me, don't you?
The music soon began to play. Judai's breath hitched, his body suddenly felt warmer as he got nervous as if it was his own wedding he was attending. He looked to the back of the room where a little girl with a dark blue mop of hair on her head was walking down the aisle throwing flower petals on the ground. Judai remembered this being Johan's baby cousin.
Don't say yes runaway now
I'll meet you when your out
Of the church at the Back door
Soon his two groomsman went to the back of the room and were arm and arm with Asuka's bridesmaids. Both men looked uneasy and uncomfortable being on the arms of two women. Their friends could see the discomfort in the older brothers's faces. Judai wanted to shoot his brother a pity gaze but that would give away his location before it was time.
Don't wait or say a single vow
You need to hear me out
And they said speak now
Soon the ladies and gents were on either side of the Altar Jehu squeezing his brothers shoulder comfortingly as their parents looked at the nervous Johan who looked like he'd faint. Soon the wedding March began and Asuka entered the room, her father holding her arm. Johan grimaced a little. He was deathly uncomfortable around the Tenjoin head of the family.
Don't say yes runaway now
I'll meet you out
of the church At the back door
The two walked in time to the music as her father passed her to Johan who takes her hand in his. In all honestly in Johan's opinion Asuka was very beautiful, even the dress tho didn't fit the wedding theme, made her look fantastic. Judai had thought the same thing as his eyes had been glued to the blonde as she went down the aisle.
Don't wait or say a single vow
Your time is running out
As they say speak now
The music came to a stop as the priest started to speak. Judai nervous as he sinks to the floor going to the back pews with nobody noticing. He sinks into the pew slightly as he listens to he priest speak lines from the Bible about ever lasting love, death due they part, and a lot of stuff that didn't stick with Judai beforehand.
I hear the preacher say
Speak now or forever hold your peace
There's the silence, there's my last chance
Soon the important words were said. "Does anyone have a reason, why Johan Andersen and Asuka Tenjoin should not be wed? Speak now or forever hold your peace." Judai shot up in a heavy second. Everyone looked to him, some of surprise, others of pure disgust. Sho was the first to speak. "Aniki!" Ryo pulled his brother back down into his seat as the young light blue haired male shot up in surprise when he saw him.
I stand up with shaky hands
All eyes on me
"I have several.. reasons why they shouldn't be wed!" Everyone held their breath. Johan froze staring at him, his eyes damp with fresh tears and ear to ear smile on his face. His heart leaped with joy. 'Judai, you came.. you actually came..' He couldnt hide the radiating warmth in his body that just melted the nerves off of him that he'd been sick to his stomach with the whole morning.
Horrirfied looks from everyone in the room
But I'm only looking at you
I am not the kind of girl
Judai smiled brilliantly as he took small steps as he spoke. "They aren't good together. They can't make each other happy, because Johan will never be happy with this…" His brown eyes were glued to his love's emerald green ones, tho he spoke to the entire room, voicing his reasons.
Who should be barging in on a white veil occasion
But you are not the kind of boy
Who should be marrying the wrong girl
"Johan Andersen is a proud gay man. And you as his family, should've known this years ago… Asuka should've told her family the truth. These poor two souls forced to do this just for their parents happiness." He stood about 5 feet from the altar. Judai held his hand to his chest just above his heart.
So don't say yes runaway now
I'll meet you when your out
Of the church at the back door
"And I'm here to say. I'm sorry Asuka. Your my dear friend. But Im kidnapping your Groom." Johan had tears running down his face as he hid his eyes in his jacket sleeve as Jehu and Haou shoved the crying bluenette off the altar and down the two steps, the crying and joyful male going the rest of the way to meet the smiling brunette.
Don't wait or say a single vow
You need to hear me out
And they said speak now
Johan wiped his eyes on his sleeve before looking at the cheeky brunette who smiled with his eyes closed at him before looking him over. 'He looks amazing…' The two shared the same thoughts as the room went to hell behind Johan, his mother having fainted and Asuka's mother sobbing into her husband's shoulder while Fubuki was trying to hold back an Angry cousin Jack who wanted to run Johan over with his bike.
And you say let's run away now
I'll meet you when im out of
My tux at the back door
They're friends on the other hand were cheering for the two as Jim was sneakily taking pictures and Manjome was taking video of their parents freaking out. "Ah aren't weddings delightful?" He says sarcastically as Sho elbowed him in the ribs while laughing as well.
Oh baby, I didn't say my vow
So glad you were around when they said
Speak now
Johan and Judai stared at the other endlessly to the point, both were smiling with deep seeded blushes on their faces. "So Johan..? Shall we go?" Judai held his hand out to the teal blue haired male who's eyes widen as he rewinded what Judai said earlier to everyone in the room 'kidnapping the Groom…' He looked down his bangs covered his eyes as his face steamed.
"Y-yes Judai.." He takes his hand eagerly but instead of letting the brunette lead he dashed passed him his hand tight on the slightly shorter male's hand as they race to the back of the church where Judai parked his bike.
Judai laughed whole heartedly at his love's antics as they ran through the back door. Johan let go of the brunette as he tossed the would've been groom a helmet and stuffed his thick brown head of hair into his own.
Judai leaped onto his bike as Johan climbed on behind him hugging him from behind his arms around his midsection, all while resisting the urge to shove his hands under Judai's tux jacket and shirt just to feel his skin.
"Hang on Johan!" Judai reved the engine as he sped out of the back of the church and drove around to the front of it as their friends poured out waving at them as Judai drove off.
"Ah how romantic!~" Fubuki gracefully fell into Ryo's arms who rolled his eyes but humored his overdramatic lover. Kenzen chuckles before crying out. "I bet those two end up having sex before class next week!" Manjome slapped the army lover on the backside.
"Second and I will take that bet and run with it! Let's go Edo I gotta put this on the internet!" His silver haired boyfriend laughed as the black haired male dragged his boyfriend down the steps of the church, talking about how many views he'll get for the wedding being ruined.
Judai drove the bike for a good 10 minutes before they pulled up to Judai's apartment which was across the street from the college they were attending. Johan pulled his helmet off before climbing off the bike a genuine smile on his face that Judai hadn't seen since he found out he was being forced to wed.
"There's that smile." Judai commented as he gazed at his best friend and love. Johan's eyes soften as he looked at his brunette savior. They're eyes met briefly before Judai took the European male by the hand and takes him inside his apartment room. Johan's heart leaped once again feeling his soft hand in his. Their touch was almost electrical which made both of the blush at the contact.
Just as Judai shut the door the two spoke at the same time.
"Ju-Chan..-"
"Jo-kun..-" both blush at this realization as they both gave a sheepish smile. Johan approached Judai, who's back was to the front door and pressed his hands into the wall just behind his head, his eyes mischievous but his smile still genuine. Judai's eyes widen slightly taking in the slightly taller male looking down at him several inches closer than they've ever been.
"J..Johan.." He face flushed slightly feeling his slightly warmer body heat in such a close proximity to his own. Johan's smile grew more devious as his body slowly presses against Judai's whos face gets another shade darker as he gazes frantically at Johan, surprise frames his expression.
"Ju-Chan… what was that about Kidnapping the Groom..?" His smile reflects in his eyes as he teases the brunette who looks away, giving Johan the advantage to press his lips to his jaw line, earning a surprised gasp from him. He freezes for a second before his body reacts erratically as he fists the males tux in his hands, yanking him the rest of the way into a crushing embrace.
Johan reacts just as quickly as his arms are around the shorter male in seconds touching the hem of his jacket and tucked in button down. He was eager to feel the skin as he wanted to earlier. He instinctively pulls the top out of his pants and his hands start to roam over the male's stomach and back.
"J-Johan…?" The brunette in his arms was breathless as he looked into the lustful green emerald eyes. "Ju-Chan…" He whispers into his ear playfully making the brunette's heart pound erratically in his chest.
"Nobody's ever gonna get me up on that altar again… Except you, my precious." Johan's new nickname for Judai made the male almost faint. His heart leaped several times just from the teal haired male whispering into his ear, his ears turning red from the sensation.
"N-never again, Jo-kun… I'm the one you will be wedded to one day…" Johan saw it in his deep chocolate eyes, his promise for the future as he pulls the brunette deep against him, his lips on his, as they kissed feverishly and deeply.
For everything they could've already been doing. Kissing, cuddling, date nights, foreplay, even sex. What made them take so long to admit it? The idea of never having the other be theirs hurt more than anything in this experience, tying the two together now and forever.
