It had been a long week and the team were finally back from the field and typing up their reports.

Deeks slammed his laptop closed and looked up to the others in the bullpen.

"Well, I sure could use a vacation. Somewhere warm and on the beach. You in princess?" Deeks asked Kensi.

"A vacation? What, you're not happy with your job or something?" Sam asked accusatorily.

"What? No, no. That's not what I'm saying." Deeks laughed nervously.

"Sounds like that's what he's saying doesn't it Kens?" Callen chided.

Deeks looked over to Kensi. "Kinda does." She joked back.

"No, no no, that's that's not what this is. Come on, everyone needs a break every once in a while. We have vacations days for a reason."

"Wouldn't know, I haven't taken a vacation in 4 years." Callen replied.

"Yea right." Deeks laughed only to stop after seeing Sam shaking his head back and forth at him.

"Wait really?" Deeks asked.

"You seriously have to ask? This is the guy who considers cleaning a gun to be self-care." Sam said.

"Hey, cleaning a gun can be very therapeutic." Kensi argued back.

"It's true, in stressful situations Kens has been known the clean her gun. I walked in on her cleaning her dad's sniper during the Peter Clairmont case." Deeks replied.

"Nothing like some relaxing gun cleaning to get your mind off a murder accusation, that's what I always say." Kensi smiled back.

"Hey! That was funny! Good job babe." Deeks said while sending an air high five in Kensi's direction which she reciprocated.

"Touché!" Kensi replied while shooting finger guns at Deeks.

"Nope that, that's still not it." Deeks sighed back.

Sam smiled at his teammates before jumping back into the banter. "But seriously G, 4 years? Not one break?"

"Well I did take a few 3 day weekends last year." Callen replied.

"No, that's not a vacation." Kensi said, "that's just…"

"Sad." Deeks butted in.

"Sad." Kensi reiterated.

"Well, I happen to like my job, which is what I believe this whole conversation was about in the first place, Deeks not being happy at work. Come on, how did this get flipped on me? Come on big guy, help me out." Callen said to Sam.

"I don't know G. You keep calling me big guy and I might have to side with beauty and the beast here more often."

"Beauty and the Beast, ha! Good one." Deeks laughed nervously. "It amazes me that even when you're on our side you still find a way to be insulting."

"Oh no. That's not true."

"No?" Deeks asked sarcastically.

"No, I called Kens a beauty. Come on, I wouldn't insult Kensi like that."

Kensi nodded appreciatively at Sam while Callen chuckled.

"What do you have in mind for a vacation, Deeks?" Kensi finally asked.

"How about sunny San Diego?!" Eric called out like a game show host down into the bullpen.

Every member of the bullpen simply sat still while staring at their tech operator.

Eric cleared his throat. "Ahem. Uh. Case on deck. And it's in, uh San, San Diego." Eric said nervously as the team began to climb the stairs up to ops.

"San Diego? I never would have guessed. Thanks for clearing that up." Sam joked to Eric before giving him a giant clap on the shoulder nearly knocking him down the stairs.

"No, no problem." Eric said chasing after the rest of the team back into ops.
