Hello, friends and fans! Moonlightquill here with the start of his very first Pokemon fanfic! I loved this show growing up and am now going to express that love through the writing of this story. Please, read, relax and enjoy it!xxxooo
The outskirts of Rota, northwest of the Kanto region. 28th of April
It was a calm, peaceful night. All along the grass plains of the kingdom, the aura crystals shone its bright green light. Not much has changed in the kingdom of Rota since Ash and his friend came and saved both Mew and the tree of beginning from dying and the kingdom and its pokemon along with it five years ago.
Many different types of pokemon were just playing or relaxing out in the fields and bathing in the nearby lake close to the tree, having a great time and basking in the peace and quiet of the land.
However, that peace and quiet didn't last long, as a looming shadow slowly but surely consumed part of the ground they were on, a Sudowoodo that was washing in the lake looked up and saw what looked like a large black airship flying over him.
''Sudo'' he muttered in fright before he dashed as fast as he could out of the lake ''Sudowoodo! Sudowoodo!'' he cried as he ran towards the base of the tree of beginning as if trying to warn someone, trying to outrun the ship ''Sudowoodo!''
But the ship was too fast for him to catch up with as it easily overtook him and slowly hovered above the ground at the base of the tree before landing. Sudowoodo came up from the dirt path close to the landed ship and hid behind one of the rocks to see whoever was inside. The door of the ship hissed and parted into two, allowing smoke to pour out of it's opening. Just then, a tall, shadowy figure appeared from the smoke and walked out of the ship, and revealed its identity.
The figure was a tall, slim woman in her late thirties in a dark purple long coat over a red bodysuit. She had short silver hair and grey eyes under a dark grey visor. She also wore a black metal gauntlet on her right wrist that had a small gun barrel device at the end.
''Sudo'' Sudowoodo whispered in awe and fright as he gazed at the woman from behind the tree. The woman briefly looked at her surroundings, her visor tracking any sighs of pokemon that may be around. Her gaze then set upon the tree of beginning.
''This must be the place'' she said to herself ''They don't seem to be around here...they must be inside the tree'' she then reached into her coat pockets and pulled out two Pokeballs ''Come out Drapion and Ariados!'' she launched them up in the air and both her giant scorpion pokemon and her red spider pokemon appeared before her in two flashes of light.
''Drapion!''
''Ari!''
''I need you two to stay close to me. The client said this tree can be extremely dangerous'' the woman instructed them firmly ''Keep your eyes peeled and be ready to attack on my command''
''Dra!'' Drapion nodded.
''Aria!'' the spider pokemon agreed before the woman began to walk towards the entrance to the tree with her two pokemon following close besdie her. Sudowoodo leaned out of the rock and started to follow them, but he accidentally knocked over a rock on the ground, making a distinct rolling sound. Ariados easily heard him due to his advanced sense of hearing and quickly turned around just to see Sudowoodos foot as he ran back behind the rock. Ariados hissed at the rock angrily, gaining the woman's attention.
''What is it, Ariados?'' she asked him, the spider pokemon motioned his head towards the rock. The woman looked at the rock with her visor and saw the pokemon shadow behind it. The woman smiled darkly and aimed her wrist gun at it ''I see you'' she said ''Come out''
Sudowoodo didn't move. The woman just huffed ''Drapion, pin missile''
Drapion aimed its pincers at the rock and shoot several white arrows at the rock, causing it to explode into dust leaving Sudowoodo out in the open ''Sudo'' it cried.
''A Sudowoodo?'' the woman asked in slight disappointment, she gave off another small huff ''They're not worth much. C'mon, we have much bigger prizes to catch'' she ordered her pokemon. They had just turned away from him and continued towards the tree.
''Sudowood!'' Sudowoodo yelled in determination before he brought his two balled hands together and charged up a ball of green energy ''Sudo!'' he yelled as he threw the ball at the woman, who just in time turned to see the attack and rolled out of the way, the energy ball exploded on the wall of the entrance to the cave.
''Why you little pest!'' The woman yelled ''Aridos, use sticky web!'' she commanded.
''Aridos!'' the spider pokemon opened its mouth and shot its web at the tree pokemon that knocked him to the wall and stuck to him like a net ''Sudo! Sudo!'' he cried, trying to free himself to no avail. Meanwhile, the woman pressed a button on her wrist gauntlet and aimed it at the Sudowoodo, the gun shot a little beam of gold light and turned the Suduwoodo to stone!
The woman dusted off her coat and looked back to the frozen pokemon ''I'll deal with you later'' she muttered darkly before she and her pokemon turned back to the cave entrance and entered the tree. Little did they know, that just after they entered the cave, a yellow rover parked outside, and a pair of pink boots hopped out from the driver's car door.
The pokemon hunter was now walking along with the caverns with her pokemon in tow ''This whole place feels like a maze'' she said as they continued walking. After a while, they came up to the center of the tree, where many aura crystals were sticking out from the ground, walls, and even the ceiling! It was a truly beautiful sight but the hunter didn't come all the way here for sightseeing, she was here for a much more practical purpose. She looked around the area with her visor again, her targets were nowhere to be seen
''Very well'' she muttered before she smiled deviously ''Time to draw them out then...Drapion, Ariados, Pin missile!'' she pointed towards the center
Both of her pokemon fired their attacks at the walls of the tree until the whole area was covered in smoke and debris. The woman then heard robotic screeching sounds coming from her left side. She turned in that direction to see her targets coming towards her from the cave on that side. There was Regirock, the rock legendary. Registeel, the steel legendary, and Regice, the ice legendary. The guardians of the tree.
They screeched at her in a form of warning for her to turn back and leave. But she lifted her wrist gun and shot Registeel in response, who was in the center of the trio, with her stone beam and turned him to stone! The now frozen Registeel fell to the floor with a loud thud. The two other guardians screeched in horror and then looked back at the hunter. Regirock prepared to fire its hyper beam.
''Not so fast'' the hunter said ''Ariados, use nightshade!''
''Aria-dos!'' The spider pokemon opened its mouth and shot its beam of dark purple energy at Regirock just as it shot its hyper beam, the two moves collided midway and exploded, The woman knew that after a move like Hyper beam, a pokemon won't be able to move right away. She used that opportunity to shoot another beam of gold at Regirock from her wrist gauntlet, but to her mild surprise, Regice dived in the way and allowed itself to get turned to stone! The woman just smiled again ''Poor fool, you should've known that would not save him'' she said before Regirock screeched and made several stones swirl around itself before flying straight towards her. That move was stone edge!
''Drapion, cross poison now!'' the woman yelled.
''Drap- Drapion!'' the scorpion pokemon bellowed as he brought his pincers together to form an 'X' symbol and launched a purple X towards Regirock, knocking away all the stones from the stone edge move and landing a hit right on his chest, the legendary screeched in pain and rested on one knee. The hunter shot one last beam of gold at it and turned it to stone.
''Packages secured'' the hunter nodded in a sense of accomplishment. She then approached the three frozen legendaries and pondered a thought, pokemon this big would be too heavy to carry all the way back to her ship. Then, an idea emerged in her mind ''Drapion, carry these three back to the ship'' she ordered him. Drapion nodded and picked up both Regirock and Regice, carrying one over his right shoulder and one under his left arm ''We'll come back for the other one'' she added.
''Or-'' a voice called from behind them. they turned around to see an olive tanned girl in her mid-twenties with ocean blue eyes in a pink one-piece bodysuit. She wore black gloves with a brown satchel buckled around her waist and she had brown hair tied in two outward ponytails, she also wore a set of tactical glasses and an earpiece on her face ''You could put the guardians down and leave right now before things get ugly'' she finished with her hands on her hips.
The hunter just stared at her for a brief moment ''Really?'' she asked ''And just who are you to tell me that?''
The girl just smiled ''The names Kidd Summers, world adventurer'' she introduced herself ''And you are?-''
''Names are for friends so I don't need to tell you'' the hunter dismissed before she lifted her wrist gun and aimed the barrel at her. ''Now, Kidd Summers, step aside"
Kidd folded her arms with a frown ''I'm not moving an inch until you drop those guardians'' she informed them, willing to stand her ground to protect the tree.
''Very well'' the hunter put the gauntlet down ''Ariados, use pin missile!''
The spider pokemon launched its attack, but Kidd was agile and flexible enough to dodge the attack and roll to the side out of the way.
''So that's how you wanna play it huh?'' Kidd reached into her satchel and pulled out two pokeballs ''Weavile's, come on out!'' she cried as she threw them up in the air and her two Weaviles appeared before them ''Weavile!'' they both said as they prepared for battle.
''Very well'' the hunter smiled ''If it's a battle you want, then it's a battle you'll get. Drapion, put those down for a moment'' she told her pokemon, Drapion slowly put Regirock and Regice down beside him away from the battle ''Now use cross poison and Ariados, use Poison Jab!'' she commanded her pokemon. Drapion launched his purple X at one of the Weaviles while Ariados charged at the other one with its horn glowing purple.
''Both of you, dodge and then use shadow claw!'' Kidd commanded.
The Weaviles successfully dodged both their opponent's attacks and slashed their shadow claws into their backs, scoring a direct hit! The hunter just smirked ''Drapion, grab that Weavile and Ariados use sticky web on the other's legs!''
Drapion then grabbed his Weavile in his pincers while Ariados shot a web of sticky silk down at the other's feet, trapping both of Kidds pokemon causing her to gasp in horror.
''Now Drapion, use poison fang!'' the hunter commanded. Drapion's fangs glowed purple and then he bit into the Weavile caught in his pincers.
''Weavile!'' Kidd cried as her pokemon yelled in pain ''Now Drapion, finish him off with x scissor!'' Drapion threw the weaville to the ground and charged into him with his pincers in an 'x' shape landing a direct hit! The Weavile battling Drapion was now unconscious while the other Weavile tried moving his feet to free himself from Ariados web to no avail.
''Quick Weavile, free yourself!'' Kidd cried out fretfully.
''Not so fast, Ariados finish him off with solar beam!'' the hunter commander her spider pokemon.
''Aria..dos!'' he said as he charged a ball of burning white light from his mouth and launched it towards Kidd's remaining Weavile.
''Weavile, use Ice beam quick!'' Kidd commanded him, panic in her voice.
''Weavile!'' Weavile opened his mouth, looking up towards the incoming ray of light and launched his own blue streaks of light at it. But the solar beam was too powerful and tore right through the ice beam like it was nothing! ''Wea!'' he yelled in pain as the blast knocked him off his feet.
''C'mon Weavile, get up!'' Kidd called to him. The badly bruised Weavile struggled to pull itself up on his feet but soon gave in to the pain and collapsed with swirly eyes. Kidd recalled both of her downed pokemon back inside their pokeballs.
''I win'' the hunter said, amused in a sadistic way ''Now, I'll warn you again'' she raised her wrist gun back at Kidd, who had her head lowered in defeat at her loss ''Step aside and I might let you walk out of here alive. Sound like a fair deal?'' she asked.
Kidd clenched her fists, even though she'd lost her pokemon she still wasn't going to just let her steal the guardians! ''No'' Kidd replied ''I won't let you steal the guardians! They belong to the tree of beginnings and to Mew!'' she added.
The hunter widened her eyes in suprise "A Mew?'' she asked and then curled her lips into a devious smile ''I've heard that those are extremely rare and powerful pokemon...Not to mention valuable. I wonder If my client would add another couple zero's to the price if I brought one back for him, alongside these three legendries''
"Client?" Kidd asked in a confused tone with a raised eyebrow "What client? Who do you work for?"
"That's really none of your business" the hunter replied.
Kidd was now getting frustrated with this woman "You're trespassing on sacred grounds without permission and you're attempting to steal legendary pokemon! I'd say it's very much my business!" Kidd cried.
"Enough!" The hunter yelled. Anger boiling up inside her "This is you're last warning. Stand, aside" she hissed darkly
Kidd clenched her fists, that was it. ''If you wanna leave here with the guardians, then you have to walk over my corpse with them!'' she shouted in anger as she reached back into her satchel and pulled out a metal stick, she pressed a button on the handle and the two ends of the stick extended into a double ended spear weapon. Kidd then took a battle stance ready to fight to the death.
''Suit yourself'' The hunter frowned and turned a knob on her wrist gauntlet, Suddenly, a long blade replaced her gun barrel with a metallic swishing sound. She pointed the tip of her Sword towards Kidd ''You were warned''
Kidd then let out a battle cry as she charged at the hunter with her pole. The hunter blocked her attack with her sword and tried to stab her with the blade only for Kidd to knock the tip away with and upward slash with the other side of the pole before trying to land a downward slash attack with her pole before the hunter dodged out of the way and tried to thrust her sword into Kidd's spine. But Kidd was able enough to see the incoming attack and blocked her attack from behind with her pole. The two female fighters then charged at eachother and clashed thier weapons together in the middle, pushing against their respective opponent and giving them their most intimidating death stares. It seemed that the hunter was slowly gaining the upper hand as her sword started to break past Kidd's defence and the sharp tip of her weapon came close to her cheek.
However, just before her face got cut, Kidd brought her foot to the hunter's torso hard. The hunter staggered back on her behind, she grunted lightly before she quickly got back up on her feet. They both then circled around each other for a moment like two houndooms, trying to find a weakness in each other's technique whilst catching their breath.
"I'm not easy to impress...But I must admit, you are a skilled fighter" the hunter mused at her combat techniques ''Not many people have lasted this long against me''
"Thanks" Kidd gave her a cocky smile "Too bad I can't say the same about you"
The hunter growled at her insult "Why you insolent little brat!"
"I know you are, but what am I?" Kidd taunted her childishly.
"How about 'Dead!'" the hunter hissed before she charged at the adventurer again with her blade aiming straight towards Kidds chest. Kidd brought her pole up and charged at the hunter, just as the hunter was about to land a hit on Kidd, she pole-vaulted over the hunter to avoid her attack and leg-swiped her onto the ground on her back with a thud and a grunt from the hunter.
Kidd then landslides across from the hunter back to her pole/spear weapon, pulled it up from the ground and tried to aim the end at the hunter in an attempt to intimidate her into a surrender. But before she could bring the pole to her, the hunter quickly turned the knob on her wrist gauntlet back to its gun mode and aimed the barrel at Kidd, causing her to stop in her tracks.
''You cheated'' Kidd said disapprovingly.
''Since when did we set rules?'' The hunter asked before she shot a dart into Kidd's neck. Kidd widened her eyes before she fell to the ground on her side, dropping her pole weapon and lying there paralyzed and unable to move as the hunter got back up off the floor and dusted off her coat from the fight and adjusted her visor.
''Paralyzer darts'' she explained as she walked back towards her pokemon ''They won't kill you, they'll just keep you immobile long enough for me to escape with at least two of these 'Guardians' you speak off'' she said as Drapion picked up both Regice and Regirock again while she returned Ariados back inside his pokeball before she knelt down to face Kidd on the floor, knowing she could still hear her ''You should've just left when I warned you, and now-'' she was interrupted by the sight of multiple blobs of red goo emerging from the walls around them, the hunter looked back at Kidd with an evil grin ''You're going to die. Goodbye...'Kid''' she mocked her name as she got up to leave with Draipon holding the two legendaries to leave her with the white blood cells.
''Oh, and to answer your question before-'' the hunter spoke as she left without looking back at her ''My name is J'' she finished as she fled the tree, out of sight.
The white blood cells slowly encircled around Kidd, ready to devour her. Kidd tried to escape, but she couldn't move a muscle due to the effect of J's dart, she was ready to concede and accept her fate as the cells drew nearer by then a small voice called out-
''Mew!''
The cells immediately stopped and looked up to see a floating creature resembling a cat with an arrow ended tail, this was Mew, the keeper of the tree of beginning. Mew looked at the paralyzed girl and floated down to her face ''Mew?'' he asked her. Kidd couldn't reply as she laid there with her mouth closed and her eyes wide open. But Mew knew she could still hear him, he flew just above her head and pressed his mouth against her forehead.
''Wake up'' Kidd heard a small, calming voice call to her as Mew flew away from the girl, a glowing green spot appeared on the place where he kissed her. Kidd suddenly felt the paralysis in her body vanish and the feeling of her own muscles came back to her. She coughed slightly as she slowly picked herself off the ground and back on her feet, removing the dart from her neck and flicking it aside. She looked around at the glowing red blobs surrounding her and panicked slightly, fearing that they might try to devour her again like last time she and her friends came to the tree five years ago. She then noticed that the cells were not attacking her, in fact, it was as if they hardly even noticed she was there! The cells slowly sank back into the wall and floors of the cavern and out of sight.
''W-why didn't they attack me like they did last time?'' she asked herself while she picked up her weapon and placed it back inside her satchel.
''Because they remember you, Kidd Summers'' the same voice as earlier answered her question. Kidd gasped in surprise and looked up to see Mew floating above her head in the center of the tree's core.
''Mew?'' she asked curiously at the legendary pokemon.
''It's so good to see you again, old friend'' Mew confirmed her theory. Kidd smiled widely ''It is you!'' she exclaimed happily before she raised a puzzled eyebrow ''But wait...I can understand you and you can understand me...but you're not moving your lips''
''You are correct'' Mew explained ''I cannot speak to you with my voice given my limited vocabulary. Therefore, I'm using my mind to communicate with you instead. I believe you humans call this power 'Telepathy'''
''Yeah, that's right'' Kidd nodded with a smile, understanding what he meant. She then looked down sadly ''Just like Lucario did'' she remembered.
''Yes'' Mew nodded ''When Lucario sacrificed his aura to save the tree from collapse, his power of telepathy somehow made its way into me also'' he floated around Kidd ''After you, Ash and his friends left the tree, I started getting bad migraines, so bad that I couldn't even sleep some nights as the power began to manifest inside of me...It took years of practice, but I eventually mastered my new ability with the help of both the guardians of the tree and the local pokemon. Now, I can communicate freely with both humans and pokemon with my mind'' he finished his explanation.
Kidd then gasped ''The guardians!'' she remembered as she turned to the still frozen Registeel and ran over to it, kneeling beside it ''Is he dead?'' she asked Mew with a small trace of panic in her voice.
''No'' he replied, flying over to the downed steel type ''He's just been petrified, I'll awaken him from his slumber'' he added before he flew down to Registeel and kissed his face. The gold around his body slowly disappeared, returning him to his normal state. Registeel screeched as he slowly got back up and looked around for his two friends briefly before he screeched again to Mew.
''I do not know my friend'' Mew shook his head before turning to Kidd ''Where are Regice and Regirock?''
Kidd sighed mournfully ''That woman, J. She took them!'' she revealed ''A hunter, I think...I, I, I tried to stop her'' she sobbed ''She was too strong. I'm sorry''
Mew then gasped in horror while Registeel screeched in fury at the news ''No'' Mew whispered in fear ''Oh no no no no no no!'' he repeated as he flew around the tree franticly while Kidd watched him with a confused look.
''What's wrong Mew?'' she asked.
''I'd hoped that this day wouldn't come'' Mew said as he stopped midflight ''No, no. My vision...It's real!'' he cried in panic at the tree's core.
''Vision?'' Kidd asked again ''What Vision?''
Mew flew down and floated close to Kidd's face ''Kidd Summers, You must know that this world is now in grave danger!'' he said ''I've foreseen it, it must never come to pass!''
Kidd widened her eyes in surprise at the news. ''The worlds in danger? How?'' she asked, eager to help.
''No time to explain now'' Mew stressed to her ''You must go to the Hoenn Region, to a place called Petalburg city'' he instructed her as he flew past her and towards the exit of the cave. Kidd ran along with him to listen ''Find the girl they call May, she's the key! Beware the man with red eyes and a black hat! She and the aura guardian must be brought back to Cameran palace in one piece!''
''May Maple?'' Kidd asked as they made it to the mouth of the cave to the outside ''She's the key? Key to what exactly?''
''The end'' Mew said before they heard screeching coming from behind them. They turned to see Registeel running towards them. Mew flew back to him ''No Registeel'' he stopped him ''You must stay here with me and protect the tree'' he instructed the guardian who screeched in response ''I know, I know you want to find Regice and Regirock too, but the tree must be protected at all cost''
Registeel lowered its head in shame and turned back to go inside the cave ''Don't worry Registeel!'' Kidd called back to him as he stomped back inside the tree ''I'll find them and bring them back, I promise!''
''Hurry Kidd Summers'' Mew urged her ''There is no time to waste! Go! Hurry! I shall let Lady Ilene know you're coming!" He added.
''Right, I'll see you back at the palace with Ash and May as soon as possible!'' Kidd called to Mew as he flew back inside the cave. Kidd turned on her earpiece ''Banks, come in Banks'' she waited for her commander to respond as she walked back towards her Rover.
''Come on Banks, pick up!'' Kidd hopped around impatiently. Soon, she got a reply ''Yes, miss Summers?''
''Where were you Banks? I've been calling you for ages'' Kidd asked.
''I had only just stepped into the bath miss Summers'' Banks replied.
''Oh, for Arceus sake Banks!'' Kidd cried in frustration ''You're replying to me in the bathtub right now?!''
''Miss Summers, you know that I always have a bath at seven in the evening'' Bank reminded her ''My skin complexion, you know. You'll understand once you get to my age''
''It's midnight over here in Kanto!'' Kidd checked her clock on the dashboard of her rover when she got into the driver's seat.
''Is it?'' Banks asked ''Wait, why are you in Kanto again?''
Kidd breathed before she informed him of the news while she drove away from the tree ''It's the tree of beginnings. It was attacked by some hunter named 'J''' she explained ''She's stolen Regirock and Regice. I managed to stop her before she could take Registeel though...Listen, I need a way to get to the Hoenn Region stat!''
''The Hoenn region?'' Banks asked ''Why?''
''Mew told me that's where she's heading next, he also warned me about I guy with red eyes and a black hat'' Kidd answered ''I'm going after them both''
''Very well, I'll arrange transport to Hoenn for you. Just be careful miss Summers'' Banks told her. She just smiled ''Banks 'Careful' is my middle name'' she assured him before she hung up and continued driving down the dirt path while she searched her contact list on the dashboard until she found the name 'Jackie'. She hesitated for a moment before she pressed the call button. It rang three times before someone answered.
''Who is this?'' a male voice asked on the other side.
''Walker, its agent Summers'' she replied ''We've got a problem. Its about May, she's in trouble''
There was a few seconds pause before the voice replied "I'm listening"
Back on J's Ship
J pressed a red button on the dashboard of the cockpit of her ship as it flew across the sky with her at the pilot seat. After she pressed the button, the screen on her dashboard lit up to start a video call with her recent client. A man in his forties in a black well-tailored three-piece suit with slick blonde hair and red eyes, he also wore a fancy black top hat and white gloves. He smiled when he saw J appear on his screen ''Hunter J'' he greeted her ''Such a delight to see your face again...And how was your mission? Were you successful''
''You'll be pleased to know that I've successfully captured both Regirock and Regice from the tree of beginning and am en route to your base'' J informed him, looking back at the two frozen pokemon in their giant glass dome cages next to the Sudowoodo she froze earlier that she decided to keep as a consultation prize.
''Oh, how lovely!... And what of Registeel?'' the man asked patiently. J frowned ''I managed to immobilize him but some girl attacked me before I could take him...She's been dealt with though'' she added with a devilish smile.
''What the-'' the man huffed in frustration ''I thought I told you when I hired you; no unnecessary killing!''
''She was in my way. I gave her three warnings, I was being too generous'' J explained herself ''But I've got you a nice Sudowoodo for no extra charge for compensation'' the man just frowned back ''I don't need a Sudowoodo. They're too passive for combat purposes'' he said.
''This one is different'' J smiled ''It attacked me on the way to the tree with an energy ball''
The man's eyes widened in surprise ''Did it now?'' he asked and then smiled evilly ''Alright fine, due to the unforeseen circumstances; I won't deduct it from your pay this one time'' he informed her before he clapped his gloved hands together ''Right, now before you bring those pokemon back to me, I have another little task for you''
''You want me to capture another legendary for you?'' J asked.
''Oh Arceus no'' the man shook his head ''This time I want you to bring me...her'' the man sent her a profile of a brunette girl in her teens with blue sapphire eyes and a red bandana ''Her name is May Maple, pretty little thing. She resides in the Hoenn region in Petalburg city. You may use any method of capture as you wish but It is essential that she's brought back to me alive'' he instructed her ''I need that special blood flowing through her veins...for now, at least'' he finished with a devilish smile.
J just frowned curiously at his request. ''I don't normally target people... So what, prey tell, is it about this particular girl that interests you so much?'' she asked.
''Let's just say; that she's a vital part of my plan to both make you the richest woman alive and me the most powerful man on earth'' the man explained with a flick of his wrist ''Now, you'll be paid upon the delivery of both the pokemon and the girl to my castle. Commander Mars will send a few of my men to assist you on your mission. You're to rendezvous with them on the outskirts of the city before you begin the assault. Now go, time is money ya know!''
"Consider it done, Lord Ezekiel" J nodded before she hung up the video call. Meanwhile, from Ezekiel's side of the call, after J hung up, he sighed and leaned back on his chair at his desk. He then opened one of the draws and picked up a piece of paper from his desk. He beamed deviously as he looked down at what the paper showed him.
''So far, everything's turning our exactly the way I hoped...Soon, you shall be mine'' he said to the image on the paper ''That treacherous old thief Phantom may have tried to steal from me once before, big mistake'' he frowned as he reminisced about how the man he hired in the past tried to steal from him ''I should've known better. Never send pirates to do the work of a businessman...but soon this pathetic little 'resistance' of his will be no match for Blackstone once I have your mommy under my control and when she leads me and my army straight to your precious temple, all the powers of the ocean shall be mine to control! And then no one, not even Phantom will be able to stand in our way!'' he began to laugh maniacally, his laugh rang like an echo through his office and into the ears of his two guards that stood beside his door outside the room, both dressed in black-clad armor and carrying a Stoner 62 light machinegun each. he sighed after his fit of hysterical laughter and looked at the picture of Manaphy again.
''I'll see you soon, my little prince!'' He ran his hand down the image.
At Cameran Palace, The capital of Rota.
In the royal palace chamber, A young, beautiful woman with long, flowing blonde hair was sleeping peacefully in her kingsize, four-poster bed when a bright light suddenly illuminated the room. The brightness of the light made the woman shot her eyes open and gasp in surprise. She quickly sat up on the bed with her hand holding the part of her duvet that covered her chest and used her other hand to cover her eyes in order to protect her green eyes from the light.
''W-who's there?'' she asked, infuriated that someone would have the audacity to sneak into the royal bed chambers at the current time of night ''Identify yourself this instant! This is the royal bed chambers! Don't make me call the guards!'' she warned the ball of light as she reached for the alarm bell.
''I assure you, your majesty...that that won't be necessary'' a voice calmly assured her as the ball of light then popped to reveal Mew. The woman rubbed her eyes and looked at the ancient pokemon with awe ''Mew?'' she asked.
''Yes, your grace'' Mew lowered its head in a bow ''It is me. I sincerely hope I'm not disturbing you right now''
''Oh no, not at all. Although I am certainly surprised to see you here, in my bed chambers...at midnight...while I'm sleeping...in the nude'' Ilene shook her head while blushing as she tried to hold the duvet over her concealed bare chest.
Mew just chuckled slightly ''Your grace, while I commend your modesty, I need not remind you that I am indeed a pokemon. The human anatomy is all but unknown to me'' he then stopped and coughed ''However, I'm not here to jest'' he then spoke seriously ''I have come to bring you some terrible news''
''Terrible news?'' Ilene tilted her head slightly ''About what?''
''It's happened''
Lady Ilene widened her eyes in pure utter horror at those words. Not long after Ash and his friends left five years ago, Mew told her about his vision about the end of the world caused by the man with red eyes and a black top hat. Like Mew, she'd hoped this day would never come.
''No...Mew, I hoped that we'd keep them out of this'' she said sadly.
''As did I'' Mew replied ''Agent Summers did however manage to stop the hunter from taking Registeel, which is fortunate, but I fear she will return for him soon. Lady Ilene, descendant of Lady Rin, you know what must be done. The sea prince is in grave danger. The time has come...We must get the rest of the order together at once!''
''Very well'' Ilene nodded knowingly ''In the morning, I'll send reinforcements over to the tree in case she comes back and I'll spread the message to the other agents, telling them to find May and Ash and bring them back to the Palace as soon as possible''
''Very well'' Mew nodded ''I must now go and pacify Registeel before he wreaks havoc on the tree'' he then paused ''Lady Ilene, one more thing...I must ask again...about the order's latest recruit-''
Lady Ilene sighed ''We've already discussed this Mew'' she dismissed him ''I trust him enough to handle this matter, and so should you''
''I know" Mew nodded " And I've never once had any reason to doubt you before" Mew stressed her ''But I just thought that maybe you would've chosen someone with a far more 'Laudable' history to elect as your Commodore and lead the charge against the darkness that approaches us!... And what of Ash, May and agent Walker!? They'd never approve of this!''
''Mew'' Ilene began sternly ''I understand your concerns and you have every right to be wary of him. But as I've said before this morning, my decision is final and while his man's past deeds may have caused Ash, May and Jackie a lot of grief in the past, he's also our best and only chance at stopping Lord Ezekiel's army' she explained ''Phantom has been at war with Blackstone for the past four years even before I Recruited him to the order. He has the manpower, knowledge, and the resources that'll be paramount for us to tackle a threat this dangerous" She then smiled softly "And have you ever heard the expression; the enemy of my enemy is my friend, before?"
"I have" Mew nodded in response "But that phrase can also go both ways, your highness" Mew added negatively.
"Ash and May didn't kill his family, Mew" Ilene reminded him sternly.
Mew just sighed in defeat. Much as he hated to admit, by mentioning what Ezekiel did to Phantom's wife and son after he failed to get the Sea crown for him, she made a valid point on the matter and he couldn't find anything else to support his arguement ''I see. And is that your final word?''
Ilene nodded convincingly ''You must trust me, Mew. He has his own reasons for wanting Ezekiel dead"
''Very well'' Mew floated away from her as he began to glow, ready to teleport ''If I cannot change your mind, then I shall let you rest. I'll see you and Ash again soon''
''Goodnight Mew'' Ilene smiled warmly as he disappeared into a burst of white sparkles, leaving her alone in her room once again.
