Um, hello? Lets just say that I got into Genshin and gaming that I slacked off on school BUT cleared my head and managed to write this. Hehe enjoy?
The Dihua flute would whistle, the sound carried by the wind which accompanied the lyre played by a certain bard. The world had been at war with itself, tearing and succumbing to darkness. When the darkness hit, the flute and lyre stopped, the wind no longer carrying the sound as the world paused time.

He was too late, too late to save his friends and people he swore to protect.
This couldn't be happening. Aether pleaded that his eyes were playing tricks on him. Further up the war-torn path were statues, frozen movement captured in basalt statues. He'd been too late to stop the light from consuming everyone. He was traveling along the outskirts of Windrise, near the statue of the seven when he saw them.
He raced, willing his legs to carry him further to the people he could not save in time. If only he'd considered what his vision meant, took care with what it meant.
He first reached Xingqiu and Chongyun, both reaching out towards each-other. Xingqiu had a more desperate expression painted on his face, yearning for Chongyun one last time before the light reached them. He was sprawled across what was left of grass, his hand extending towards Chongyun's one. Chongyun was on his knees, his left arm supporting his weight as he reached for Xingqiu. Chongyun held his usual gaze, struck with seriousness but a hidden softness tucked somewhere in those light blue eyes. Their weapons were cast aside, battered and bloodied.
Chongyun and Xingqiu fought side by side, claymore and sword clashing against the relentless force of Hilichurls and Abyss Mages. The more they defeated their opponents, more would come in a replace them, stronger and better. When they were both spent, their energy depleted, their enemies dispersed chattering with fear and running away.
"Yun, I guess this is the end huh?" Xingqiu chuckled, blood spilling from his lips. Chongyun smiled.
"I guess it is Xingqiu. You know I never got to tell you, but." Chongyun closed his mouth, looking to see Xingqiu with his eyes closed, blood glistening under the moonlight.
"Rest my liege." And in that one moment of desperation, they reached their hands out one last time before the blinding light overcame both of them.
Aether continued running, in search for a hope that someone had somehow resisted the light.
The next was Kaeya and Diluc (FYI I do not ship them, just brotherly love :3) both quite close to each-other. Kaeya laid on the ground, body devoid of movement and hand cupping Diluc's face in the gentlest way. His eyes were closed, and the corners of his mouth tugged with the faintest smile. Tears stained Diluc's face, streams of water leaking from his eyes evident on his statue. His left-hand hovered just above what seemed like a wound over Kaeya's body, his righthand laying softly over Kaeya's.
They kept coming, one after another. Kaeya gripped his sword and slashed through reinforcements, Hilichurl camps and pyro slimes. No matter the effort he put in, more continued to come, raising their weapons to kill Kaeya. Letting out his elemental burst Glacial Waltz, he let out a battle cry and plunged back into the warzone. For 10 seconds Kaeya was winning, thrusting his sword into Hilichurls' chests, killing them in one strike. Seven Hilichurls fell to the ground before turning to dust and swirling away in the wind
He ran, swearing that his legs would give out at any given moment. He used his elemental skill to evaporate the slimes, moving faster, to help everyone else. It wasn't until right at that moment that he remembered that there was a mitachurl. He turned his head only to realise it standing right behind him. Hastily, he blocked the swing of the axe with his sword, metal clashing with metal. He called forth his elemental skill, freezing it in place. That should do it he thought, running off again.
Kaeya was determined to help win this war, no matter the cost. His legs were sore but continued to run. That's when a loud rushing of air sounded behind. He whipped his head around, anger bubbling inside him from the amount of Hilichurls chasing him alone. Only to be struck full force by an axe to the stomach.
"Ugh." Kaeya weakly choked out, blood spreading across his uniform. Shakily, he clutched the handle of the axe and yanked it out, crying in pain before collapsing to the ground.
Diluc was fighting nearby, his claymore sword striking through Hilichurls and slimes as he raced against time. That was until he saw his brother fall to the ground. He sprinted across the field that separated them, before falling on his knees next to Kaeya. An axe laid a few metres away, the metal edge dripping with blood.
"hm, Diluc?" Kaeya asked softly, draining in energy.
"Shh, you're gonna live." Diluc replied, but both of them knew what the outcome would be.
"Luc, don't be sad for too long, promise me that." Kaeya whispered, closing his eyes and placing a hand on the other's cheek. Tears streamed down Diluc's face, his face a mix of tears and blood. And at that moment, the light came and swallowed them both.
Aether shook his head at the sight of those two, pausing his steps before beginning to run further. He couldn't do it, look at all these people he'd become friends with only to have them frozen in statues. He had to find the source of the light and destroy it before it was too late. But he had a suspicion of who was behind this.
It wasn't until he reached the tree behind the statue of seven that he saw Venti and Xiao. Venti held Xiao's head in his lap, while he leaned against the tree. Their eyes were both closed but they had a peaceful expression on their faces. What was Xiao doing here so far away from Liyue?
Xiao teleported right away when he felt Venti call his name, the commotion around him meaning that whatever he was need for was to do with fighting. When he arrived at the scene, he was horrified to see an abundant amount of Hilichurls fighting Mondstadts' people. He rushed in to help, driving his polearm through Hilichurls.
Xiao ran, looking for Venti knowing that he was in danger. He reached the tree where Venti would heal, only to see him fending off monsters. He ran to Venti, polearm held steadily in his hand. When he reached him, Xiao could see the fight was draining energy from Venti. Venti looked over at him and nodded, letting him finish off the rest of the enemies.
When they were successfully killed, he turned to Venti who slide down the trunk of the tree, his cape covering his torso.
"I'm alright, just tired ya know?"
"Venti." Xiao asked, sternness in his voice.
"I may have taken a hit." Venti whispered, before pulling the cape back and revealing a red stain. Xiao's eyes widened before taking his cape and applying pressure to the wound. But the blood kept on spreading, soaking the cape with it.
"What have you gotten yourself into?" Xiao scolded softly. Around the tree, a Cryo Abyss Mage emerged and thrusted ice particles straight at Venti. Being the soft person Venti was, his eyes widened and he shook his head. But Xiao didn't listen and stood in front of Venti, taking the hit himself.
"Xiao…" Venti began. Xiao just ignored him for the moment before putting his mask on and effectively slaughtered the Abyss Mage. When its particles vanished, Xiao's mask appeared on his side before collapsing to the ground in from of Venti, spears of ice embedded through his chest.
Venti crawled forward, reaching his hands out to pull Xiao towards him. He used just enough strength to pull Xiao's head into his lap, as his hands fell limply to the floor.
"Silly Xiao." Venti commented, before running his hands through Xiao's teal and blue locks. There was no reply back, just the sound of heartbeats getting slower and slower. Venti was getting tired, he could feel his eyes closing with each passing second.
"Is this what I deserve?" A small sound came from Xiao.
"No, of course not. You did well." Venti reassured, the other humming before taking Xiao's hand and clasping it in his. He could feel Xiao's breath on his legs, getting shallower and shallower.
"Sleep, you have done well." Venti spoke, eyes trailing Xiao's face. Xiao's expression released tension and gave a peaceful one, as his breaths stopped. Venti stroked his hair one last time before leaning against the sturdy wood of the tree. He gazed up at the stars and moon, wondering if this night would have gone differently. And just like that the light took them both.
Aether walked over to Venti and Xiao, laying a hand on their statues only to draw it back in surprise. Their faces were still warm. Aether could still save them, he just had to find the source of the light. Aether walked up to the Statue of the Seven and placed his hand on it, teleporting to Mondstadt in hope of finding Jean alive.
And so the Dihua flute begun to play once again, bringing hope back into the lost world of statues and light.
So like comment if I should continue this? Because I probably wont unless you guys want me too.
