[Hilary's POV]
Hello there! I'm 20 year old Hilary Tachibana who has no boyfriend since birth. You see, I'm not really girly type. I am Loud and Bossy, Fierce and the One who beats the crap out of Boys. Makeup and heels are not my forte. I'm just a lost girl who can't seem to find herself. They say Love is just everywhere, you just need to feel it.
I wanted to fall in love too! I wanna know what it feels like being treated like Princess, I want someone to love me for who I am but who would dare to fall in love with me when I'm super Bossy? I'm as loud as a Trumpet? I'm as fierce as a Tiger? No one, right? Guys nowadays tend to like you if you're pretty and sexy.
What happened to Inner Beauty? and Brains? I confessed to one of my classmates. And guess what? He rejected me. Well that Jerk's name is Kai Hiwatari. He is the main reason why I'm like this... We use to be good friends but ever since that day, we drew apart...
*Flashback*
It was raining hard that night and we decided to stay in for tonight. We had a group study together in the library. Me and Kai entered the hostel and started searching for a room to stay in. Awkward arose as we entered the small room with only one bed in it. I was soaking wet and trembling nervously.
"Here, Have some towel before you catch a cold." Kai said as he smiled gently towards me. My heart started beating fast. Oh dear, what's wrong with me?
"Thanks" I smiled weakly as I held my chest.
What's this feeling? Am I in love with Kai? Yes. Should I confess to him right now? Yes, I should! This is my chance!
I looked at him but got surprised to see that he's already looking me. Could it be? One thing let to another. We kissed passionately as he laid me down gently. Everything was going fine until...
"Sorry Hilary, I don't want to sleep with you." He said as he started walking away.
"Wait! Kai! I LOVE YOU!"
Kai stopped on his track but unfortunately he didn't look back and continued walking out of the door.
I sat down as I felt my tears falling from my eyes. So, I'm not pretty enough for him. I'm not enough to be his girlfriend? I'm badly rejected. It's been a one sided love after all. I'm just stupid to believe that he would actually like someone like me. I shouldn't expect anything form him.
*Flashback Over*
After that night, we no longer talked to each other. He doesn't care about it so I shouldn't either.
"Hey Hils! Did ya hear the latest?" Mariah Wong, my Best Friend and roommate poked me hard eventually breaking me from my thoughts.
"Ouch. No, what is it? Lemme guess, Is it about Kai again?
"Yup! I heard he dumped that MingMing, saying he likes someone else now. Wait a minute! Didn't you say that you wanted to find your True love?!"
"Yeah, so?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Why don't you make Kai fall in love with you?!" said Mariah squealing.
"Seriously? After what happened between two of us? Hahaha, very funny." I sarcastically said.
"Fine. But if you change your mind. I'm lending you this book" Mariah waved goodbye since she was getting late for her Date with her Boyfriend, Ray Kon.
I grabbed the book and sat on the bed. "5 ways to capture his heart?". I stupidly asked myself, "Am I really gonna do this?"
"First Step: Be Cute"
A guy finds it cute when a Girl wears a Headband or a Clip on her Hair. When a girl would laugh at their jokes. Remember to flash your sweet smile when you approach them.

"Hey there Hils! OMG! You look so cute! That Ribbon Lace on your forehead and that light Makeup on your face is just goddamn Perfect! Wait?! You changed your mind?! Kai's gonna fall for you just at first sight! OMG, The Book taught you so well!" Mariah suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
"Mariah! Keep your voice down! Someone might notice!" I shushed her down.
"Ok. By the way, Kai is on his way to the Cafeteria! Hurry and go to Cafeteria! All the best!" She winked at me.
I nodded and swallowed hard. Am I really gonna do this? I'm so anxious as I entered the Cafeteria.
People were looking at me as if I was an Alien. Ignore them Hils! Concentrate on finding him! There I found him sitting with his Friends, Tala, Bryan, Spencer and Ian. I prepared my self on the way to his table.
"Hey Kai. How are y- Wahhhhhhh?!" I looked at myself in Horror! Just when I was confident about it, someone knocked me down with a big plate of spaghetti! I know! I KNOW WHO DID THIS! TYSOOOOOONNNNNNNNN!
"GHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Look the Wicked witch fell in my Prank! Yuhoo! Hahahahahahahha! God! Look at her!" said Tyson enjoying his so called Victory.
I couldn't control myself now! I ran and grabbed Tyson's collar. I could feel him Shivering under my Cold stare. I don't care that Kai is right here and if I Hit Tyson, I will place a bad image in Kai's eyes. He won't accept me again for my Unlady like actions.
"What. The. Fuck. Did. YOU. Did." saying this I started beating the crap out of him. Tyson fell down with a huge bump on his head.
I looked at Kai to see any Reaction. All I saw was a blank expression on his face. He quietly stood and left the table. Not only I was embarrassed but also very disappointed! Hils, you will never be able to win Kai's heart!
I mediately went to the bathroom to clean my face. Thank god the spaghetti didn't ruin my outfit. After cleaning up, I yawned my way to my locker. Two more subjects to attend. As usual, gossips and rumors are spreading again. I was about to get my Economics book when a note fell down from it. It surprised me as I read it.
The note says:

"I heard you were the main course meal at the cafeteria?" Mariah teased while laying on the apartment floor munching Cookies.

"Aww... So, you give up already? It's not the books fault. The only thing is that you can't do it properly" She stuck her tongue out.

"I look like a whore in this! I clenched my teeth while entering the collage.
"Relax Hils! You're such a nervous wreck" Mariah bid me farewell before going to her designated class.
I took a deep breathe as I entered my classroom, I could see how my classmates immediately shut their mouth when laid their eyes on me. They jaws dropped. I'm wearing a racerback black dress and 3 inches heels. By looking at their reaction, I could tell that they were surprised to see me in totally different attire than my usual orange jacket and blue shorts.
My eyes quickly started searching for Kai. When my eyes met his, he quickly looked away. He didn't looked at me directly. Yesterday, I tried being cute and now I'm trying being sexy but looks like everything is going in vain. Kai is still not noticing me...
"Third Step: Legend To Be Told"

God! This book is completely nutshell! First, I have changed my looks than my Fashion and now this?! Will some kind of Love spell make someone fall in love with you?! it's weird!
But...If I really want Kai to be mine, I have to try this even though this is insane.
It took me long enough to find it! I glanced at the locket that I have brought years ago. It is shaped like a broken heart. I don't remember why I bought it back than but now I will give this to Kai.

Here I am standing in front of his locker, I held the locket into my chest as I whisper the love spell:

With that done, I hurriedly went to our History Class and sat on an empty seat beside Kai. Oh look, Kai's still ignoring me. Oh! Locket spell you better work!
"Hey Guys! Check this out! Somebody gave me a locket as a love confession! Whoever she is, I'm gonna love her forever!" said Daichi Sumeragi, my classmate.
Mariah threw me WTF look and mouthed to me "What Locker did you put it in?"
"Twenty Seven" I mouthed back to her.
She facepalmed and replied back "It's Twenty Six, you Moron!"
Oh shit! Not only did I put the locket in the wrong locker, but I also confessed my feelings on the wrong guy! God! Please help me! What's wrong with me?!

"Fourth Step: Make Him Jealous"
Guys might ignore your Physical changes but he can't stop himself from getting jealous especially when the girl he likes is with someone else.
Jealous? Kai? Kai doesn't need to be jealous of any one. He has everything that one man wants. Nah... I don't think Kai will get jealous for someone like me. But I still gonna try.
-Next Day at Collage-
Early in the Morning, I went to my locker to get my books for my assigned class. I again received a letter from Mr. Anonymous. People nowadays would like to prank. So, I crumbled those letters and threw them in dustbin. At present, we were lining on our physical education class at the school's gym.
"Ok Class! Find your partners!" Madam Bettina, our dance instructor announced.
Surprisingly, nobody wants me to be their partner. I'm the only girl standing alone in the middle of the gym. I'm pretty sure that every girl wants to be Kai's partner.
"Awww! My bestie doesn't have partner. Haha!" Mariah chuckled.
"Shut up! You little troublemaker! Hahaha!" I answered with a laugh.
"Mr. Kai! Why are you not letting your girl classmates dance with you?! They are all lining up to be your partner!" Madam Bettina roared angrily upon seeing the ladies crowding him.
"Isn't it Obvious? I don't wanna dance with them." Kai said in his cold monotone.
"Quiet! If you may please dance with Ms. Hillary over there, so we could start our dance practice as soon as possible" Our Dance instructor dragged him in front of me.
Argh! So awkward! Surprisingly, Kai kept on of his hand on my waist while the other held my hand softly.

Come on! Be still my little heart! Don't get carried away! He doesn't love or like you at all. He already made that clear on the day of confession.

"I have... something to say." Kai said to me with a sincere tone.
I looked into his eyes and what I saw was not a cold one but a soft Kai.
"Yes... What is it?" I utterly said.

Kai never got to finish his sentence because of...
"Hey, Hilary! You're supposed to be my partner! Get Lost Kai!" said Garland Seibald, one of my classmates and one of Kai's rivals. Garland shoved Kai's hand from my wrist. Kai looked upset and turned to leave.
"Uh? Wait! You have something to say, right Kai?" I said as I ran after him and held his hand, stopping him from walking away.
Kai turned around. This time he didn't had the soft look on his face that he had a few minutes ago instead now he had an irritated look.
"You always irritate me, Hilary. Go back to Garland. Tch, I know you two are perfect for each other. Now please leave me alone." He answered with an Cruel Expression on his Face.
It hurts when the person that I love the most tells me that I look perfect with someone else. When all this time, all this stupid effort that I did was all for him and yet, it still did not reach him. All I wanted to, was just his attention but all I get is his Cold stare, Ignorance and Humiliation.
And to think that I'm actually in love with this guys. How stupid was I? So, I did what was I supposed to do.
"I HATE YOU KAI! MORE THAN EVER!" saying this I slapped him hard on his cheek.

I sobbed on my Pillow, it's been hours since I started crying. What am I even crying about? Is it about Kai? Is it about my efforts being wasted. Is it about me being stupid even to think both of us more than friends? Or Was it me loving him? All of this is just unrequited Love.
"Shhh... Enough of crying, Hils. Maybe you two weren't meant to be with each other and this book of mine is nothing but just a crap." Mariah patted my head gently.
"Fine, I'll stop this suckling of mine and move on! I'm gonna be Happy!" I said with a determined expression on my face as I wiped my tears away and sat on the bed.
"Now that's the Hils I know! Yay! Let's go tomorrow and find a new hot guy in the collage whose better than that Jerk!"
"I guess you're right. Maybe Anonymous is a good catch." I sighed as I skipped the pages of the Book that Mariah gave me to fix my love life. The last page caught my attention!
"Fifth Step: Be Yourself"
Now after all the hard work, I have no choice but to be myself. After all, trying to someone doesn't even work, so I might as well go and be myself.
-Next Day at Campus, Prom Day-
Hey! I'm back to my old dressing style and the same old bossy attitude. Collage days are nearly ended expect one event, Prom. Argh! The corridors are so noisy! People are buzzing about their dates, the dress they are gonna wear, what the color of the pumps should be and how should their hair and makeup should be done. They all are just excited. Everybody seems happy about it. Even Mariah has a partner, her boyfriend Ray. While, I being a introvert don't have time for love and stuffs though I do want to feel it. I guess, I'm the only one who doesn't have a partner. No probs, I'd rather watch Big Bang Theory at home than to dance all night.
I sighed my way to my designated locker, trying to squeeze myself through the crowded hallway but surprisingly, somebody bumped into making me fall down on the hard cemented floor.
"Ouch!" I groaned in pain.
"Sorry Hilary, I didn't mean to-" A guy said as he stretched out his hand towards me.
"It's YOU! No thanks, I can do it myself! Humph!" I shoved his hand as soon as I saw him. I stood up fixing myself.
It's Kai, Tch.
"Take care of yourself than. See you at the prom, Ms. Weird" Kai smirked and kept on walking.
"Weird?! I'm not weird?!" I muttered as I opened my locker.

At present, I'm at my apartment. I am unpacking my things from by bag when I noticed a blue box with a violet ribbon. Who could possibly put it in? OMG, The blue box is so pretty! It has butterfly printed and has a sweet fragrance. There was a small letter attached.
It says:

I can't explain the emotions I'm feeling right now. I don't believe this, someone actually likes me? Somebody who really appreciates me unlike Kai. But...Am I ready to trust somebody else again? Would I end up heartbroken again?
I opened the box to see what's inside of it and what I saw made me yelp in joy! Inside was a rainbow color cocktail dress, the way it flows is like a princess dress, It's so cute! It also has pink pumps to top it up! Perfect for a ladylike!
I started at the dress for minute. Am I going or not? Should I move on and forgot about Kai?
-Night, School Playground-
I really don't know, If I'm looking beautiful or not. Mariah helped me getting dress. She curled up the tip of my long brown hair, she put up a little makeup, pink lipstick. Mariah and me don't know much tips about Makeup. Both of us just wore light makeup. Mariah was very happy when I told her about the note and dress. She suggested me go and enjoy with my secret admire than staying at home and suckling about Kai.
I sat down on the swing under the Oak tree. Well, I'm fifteen minutes late. Did he left already? It's more lonely than I thought it would be. I can't stop thinking about him. Getting bored, I started humming one of my favorite songs.
"You've a beautiful Voice" A guy said behind me.
My heart started beating fast. I'm getting nervous. It must be him! At least he came.
"Thank you" I turned around to see the face of my mysterious admire but...
I wasn't him!
"Kai?! What are you doing here?" I was surprised.
"Me? I should ask you the same thing." said Kai, crossing his arms and leaning against the tree.
"Fine, I was waiting for my Prom date. Now, you answer my question." I said with an annoyed look.
"What a coincidence, I'm have also come to meet my prom date here." He smirked as he got closer.
"Oh really? Great. Where is your so called Girlfriend than?" I drew one step backward.
"She's in front me now and she is looking most beautiful than anyone of females here." He held my hand firmly and pulled me towards him.
I looked around, there is no one else in the playground but us. Could it be?...
"I didn't get it."
"Yes, it's you. You're my prom date Hilary."
"If I'm your prom date then those letters..."
"I'm the one who wrote them. I'm your secret admire, I am anonymous. I've always like you ever since we met." Kai said as he gently smiled.
"If you like me, than how can you do this to me?! Why do I have to be humiliated? Why did you ignore me when I was trying to get your attention?! Do you know how broken was I when you left me that night?! Why Kai?! Why?!" I yelled in anger. Just how can he lie to me?
"Because I'm a coward! I'm not good at expressing my feelings to others! As you know I had a dark past, all I was taught was Beyblading and to be strong. I didn't knew how to tell my feelings in front of you. I ran away that Night because I respect you! I don't want us to go to the wrong way! I cherish you so much. You're not of those one night Girls, Hilary! You're more than that. You're the girl I want to be with for rest of my life! I'm so sorry, If I hurt you so much. I didn't know that leaving you could be my worst decision but I was just trying to protect you... I hope you can forgive me and dance with me tonight."
"Hurt?! Do you think you know anything about hurt?! You lied to me, Kai! You're the reason why I'm so broken! Go away! I don't wanna see you again!" I said as I started running away with tears in my eyes.
-Promenade-
[Author's POV]
"Now, we will have the last dance of your school year as collage students. Dance gracefully with your partners, Okay?" Madame Bettina announced on stage.
"Kai, will you dance with me? A pretty girl came towards him but he ignored her for he wanted no one but Hilary.
"No Kai! Dance with me instead!" Girls were gathering at his table. Trying to get the Cold hearted prince to dance with them but still got no response from him.
He just shoved them off with his usual cold stare. Rather than being humiliated in public they started leaving disappointedly.
"Mr. Kai, Can I have a dance?" Another Girl approached him.
"Tch. I said No!"
"Even if the girl's name is Hilary?" She answered
"Huh? What? Hilary?!" He turned around to see the girl talking to him.
"Hahaha, took you long enough to notice." Hilary flashed her sweetest smile.
"Well, took you long enough to change your mind. By the way? May I ask how this miracle happened?" said Kai chuckling.
"Well, I realized that it wasn't your mistake. You just wanted to save my dignity. But I'm still a little upset about you ignoring me." Hilary pouted.
"Well than, please give me a chance to give you the best dance of your life and make your upsetness go.." Their hands intertwined as he brought her towards the dance floor.
A slow romantic song playing as the couple started moving gracefully. Kai brought Hilary's hand to his shoulder. The dance was so graceful that they felt as light as air, as if they were the only two on the dance floor. They looked at each other's eyes...Both sparkling under the spotlight, in middle of the crowding dancers of the prom. Kai loved the way Hilary smiled. The way she smiled at him always left him speechless. The way right now she is dancing with him, makes him realize that she's just perfect for him.
Now, that the dance ended, Kai took her hand and smiled her warmly.
"Follow me" Kai smirked.
After 10 minutes or so they reached their destination.
Kai is covering Hilary's eyes as he leads her to a place worth remembering.
"Are we there yet? I kinda wanna see where we are going." Hilary asked.
"Alright than. At the count of three, I'm gonna let you go and you shall open your eyes."

As he said, Hilary opened her eyes slowly... She was a familiar place. The place where she first met Kai years ago when they were kids. At that time Kai ignored Hilary as she greeted him warmly.
"Do you remember the first time we met? Well, at that time I was quite rude and cold. I ignored you quite badly, so sorry about that."
"Hmmm... I remember. Meeting you was one the best moments of my life"
"Ever since the day I met you, I have always loved you Hilary." Kai walked closer to Hilary, caressed her cheek.
They don't need words to express how they feel about each other. The three magical words are enough.
"I Love you too Kai." Hilary responded whole-heartedly.
Kai bowed down to claim her lips, kissing her was the best thing ever happened to him. Hilary kissed him back with same emotion.

Well, meeting you was by total chance. Being your friend was the best choice I ever made. And falling in love, was beyond my control. When it happens to you, you will never have expected it. Love is a single most unplanned thing on the face of this marble called Earth.
