This is the story that I have been personally working on and perfecting for 5 years. There are many iterations of it, and I even uploaded the first iteration from 3rd grade. This story means a lot to me, so the opinion of the reader matters. Please review, comment, and inform me on how I can improve the writing/mistakes I make during the creation. This is an alternate account from another main account that previously had several stories. Those have been deleted. Please mind that this story will have mature language and scenes, and the chapters may be long in some cases. I hope you enjoy the first chapter of Pokemon Re: Dux.

Chapter 1 - Re:collection

2027 - Unova, Star City

In an apartment in Unova, a 15-year-old boy with shaggy black and blue hair slept.

The boy was well-built, and had long and shaggy black hair, with highlights and fading into blue. He had dark skin, and Ultramarine eyes, a notable trait among his family members.

There were a row of poke-balls on his desk and in a bed resembling a nest, a black feathered Decidueye slept peacefully.

An alarm went off, and the boy turned over in his sleep, attempting to ignore the noise.

He dreamt of a beautiful lake with a rock in the middle of it, with a waterfall streaming behind it.

He wallowed in the peace of the scene.

An orange Pokémon resembling an anthropomorphic otter or weasel stood on a rock in the middle of a lake. Its arms were longer than its hands and it had four fingers on each. On each foot rested three toes. Its feet were small in comparison to the rest of the body, and it had two pointed blue fins on its arms, and aligned, backward-swept, pointed fins on its head, and two tails. It also had a yellow flotation sac, which seemed to be made of rubber or a similar substance, giving the impression of an inflatable life vest. It looked like it was humming some sort of tune.

Whatever it was, it was majestic.

The boy moved his hand to reach out to the pokemon but suddenly found himself sinking into the lake, slowly losing consciousness.

He couldn't move, and sadness and anger overtook him.

No matter how much he yelled, kicked, or begged, he was trapped.

The boy was just about to give up but was suddenly thrust out of the water and into the air, landing on his mattress in his apartment.

A girl walked up to his bedside.

The room was dark, and he could barely make out her figure.

All he recognized for sure… Was her beautiful mix of cyan and magenta hair.

It was like a cosmic flower.

The girl opened her mouth to speak, snapping her fingers.

"Retsuko…" She said sweetly as if she were attempting to wake him up.

"Retsuko..." she called out again to the boy.

She smiled softly.

Suddenly, her face turned angry and evil, and her eyes turned red.

Like a demon.

"RETSUKO!" She yelled, sounding like something pure evil.

The boy woke up with a jolt to see his Decidueye, worriedly perched in his lap.

He looked around his room in confusion, letting his eyes adjust to the light.

He placed his hand onto his bed and noticed that the sheets were covered in his sweat.

He looked over to his Decidueye.

"Sorry Kuu... I did it again, didn't I?" He said semi-jokingly.

A single tear streamed down his face.

2027 - Unova, Star City Shopping District

A Large Tyranitar stampeded through the city, destroying everything in its path.

It had a man on its back, presumably its trainer, who was laughing maniacally.

Another trainer closely followed the duo.

He had spiky blonde hair and crimson eyes.

He was wearing a black and blue uniform and had his partner pokemon Raichu on his shoulder.

He was running extremely fast for a human, almost keeping pace with the monstrosity rampaging through the city.

"Let's raise the input a little!" The trainer shouted gleefully.

His Raichu nodded and began to release a spark of electricity.

The Raichu discharged it right into his trainer's suit, completely allowing it to be absorbed.

The trainer began to emit sparks of electricity, as he sped up to a point where he was now ahead of the Tyranitar and its trainer.

He spun around flashily and began to run backward, flexing his talent with his speed to the civilians around.

"Sup fellas!" He shouted cockily.

The Tyranitar and trainer halted instantly.

"Damn you!" The man shouted.

He thrust his hand forward, pointing at the expressway.

The Tyranitar jumped from the streets onto the highway, making a loud "THUMP" as it hit the ground.

The Raichu trainer sarcastically sighed.

"They never learn…" He said.

The man and his Tyranitar sped through the highway, trampling everything.

Seemingly nobody was hurt, as it was too early in the day for traffic.

The man and His Tyranitar entered the Champion district of Star City and began to approach the League Hall.

The Raichu trainer followed behind them, even faster than before.

The Tyranitar was now extremely close to the hall, inches away from trampling a small girl.

The trainer looked at his Raichu.

"Well Izuma, you know what to do." He said.

The Raichu Nodded and leaped into the air, targeting the Tyranitar.

The trainer grabbed a device off of his gauntlets, and his suit retracted into them, leaving him just in his uniform.

He threw the device up at his Raichu who caught it and smiled.

He pointed towards the Tyranitar.

"Thunderbolt!" He ordered as the Raichu discharged all its remaining energy towards the Tyranitar, knocking it and its trainer unconscious.

The Tyranitar fell to the ground, just missing the girl.

The trainer smiled in satisfaction.

"Job well done!" He proclaimed, catching his Raichu and the device out of the air.

Suddenly a girl and Lucario on a motorcycle pulled up to the scene, skidding to a stop.

The girl had shiny ginger hair, light skin, and yellow eyes. She was wearing the same uniform as James but instead of a yellow suit, hers was silver.

She got off of her motorcycle and walked over to the other trainer, Lucario following after her.

"James!" She shouted furiously, grabbing the trainer by his collar and holding him up.

"H-Hey Raegan…" James said bashfully.

"Don't you "Hey Raegan" me! What were you doing leading them to the 8th district!? People would have gotten hurt!" Raegan scolded James.

"Gee I'm alright, thanks for asking," James said, repeating his sarcasm.

The man and his Tyranitar slowly regained consciousness, unbeknownst to the two trainers.

They managed to stand up and prepare to attack the four figures.

"Damn you… International Police!" He yelled, referring to Raegan and James.

Tyranitar charged towards Raegan and her Lucario, preparing a smack-down attack.

Raegan boredly turned away and signaled Lucario.

Instantly Lucario manifested a bone made of energy and swiftly slashed the Tyranitar with it, knocking it unconscious.

"That's on me," Raegan said coldly to James.

"What!? He's my catch!" James retorted.

"Well, your, "Catch" is getting away!" Another figure interrupted, jumping over Raegan and James and stopping the running man in his tracks.

A Cinderace kicked him swiftly, knocking him out.

The figure turned around, revealing himself to be another trainer with a striking resemblance to James.

"Oh, Hey Noah!" James said, holding out his hand to the third officer.

The third trainer turned around slowly.

"Brother… What did I tell you about leaving your guard down?"

2027 - Unova, Star City Pokemon League Conference Room.

12 Board members sat at a roundtable in the league conference room, waiting for two extra guests.

One of the Members, a woman with purple hair stood.

"Where are the champion and Our representative!?" She asked frantically.

Another board member took her query.

Our young Champion may be powerful but is extremely lazy when it comes to these meetings, madam Asther. He might still even be asleep." He answered the lady.

The madame rolled her eyes.

"And our Region's representative?" She asked, clearly annoyed.

"That boy has a mind of his own. Arceus only knows where he is and what he's doing." The member answered again.

Madame Asther sighed.

"I don't believe in Arceus." She said, groaning.

2027 - Unova, Star City

Back in the apartment, the boy with shaggy black and blue hair continued to sleep.

On his table next to his black Z ring, his Rotom phone began to ring violently.

The boy turned over in bed and waved his hand away, much to Decidueye's disapproval.

"Gimme like… 40 more years maybe?" The boy said, still half asleep.

The phone stopped ringing and then went to voicemail.

"Hey, Retsuko? Yeah, we know you're awake." A voice from the other side said.

The boy shot out of bed and ran to the phone, recognizing the voice.

"Jackson?" He asked, now fully awake.

"Yes, it's me," Jackson replied.

Retsuko sighed.

This right here is Jackson Danvers, a rival from my travels through Unova. He's from Kalos and is the person who taught me a powerful skill called the battle bond. Apparently, I'm 'worthy in his eyes. Anyways, Jackson is pretty dark and stubborn and is super powerful as the top-ranked trainer in the Region. He's a bit odd, and is super quiet and emo. Despite how cold he may seem, he's always been like a brother to me. He mentally recapped.

Jackson had a fair and delicate complexion and was a moderately built teen. He had green eyes and wore an open green sweater with a grey shirt under it. He also wore an Alolan baseball cap and wore greyish blue sweatpants that go down to his ankles, and black boots with white strings and flaps.

"Apparently, we're needed at the league," Jackson explained.

"Why?" Retsuko asked.

"You're the reigning champion of Unova, Retsuko. Act like it." Jackson said sternly.

He hung up the phone.

Retsuko fell back into his bed and groaned.

He looked over to his Decidueye.

"Frick my life..." He groaned, ruffling its feathers lovingly.

Retsuko eventually dragged himself out of bed and made his way to the bathroom.

He entered his shower and turned on the water.

He leaned back, drifting off as the cool water made him sleepy.

He began to listen to all the sounds of the water slashing and hitting his body, as his mind drifted off elsewhere…

Two Years Prior - Unova, Vertress City: Unova League Finals

A 13-year-old Retsuko and Jackson stood before a large figure.

Its claws were red and resembled blood, it was covered in black and purple energy, and you could just barely make out the surface of a torn to shreds Pikachu costume.

The pokemon trainer, a violet-haired boy, was in a complete trance and completely unresponsive.

Anything even remotely close to the figure got sucked up in the vacuum of energy and power.

Retsuko's Decidueye, named Kuu, and Jackson's Samurott, named Neptune, donned new forms called battle bonds.

Kuu's arrows were covered in spiritual energy that looked similar to flames. They were a mixture of cyan, and light green and that same energy made up its tail feathers and a scarf around its neck where the bottom of its hood would be. The tufts of feathers on its head resembled Retsuko's hairstyle, with two long white ones on the front that turned black at its tips. Its body seemed to be covered in some sort of leaf armor and its bow had gotten upgraded to be separate from its body, but larger with more range, and markings all over it. Its wings had black symbols on the lower half of them, and on the upper half had the same markings as its bow did.

Neptune took the full-on appearance of a knight. Its horn grew a knightly helmet around its back while growing black spikes around its horn, sword sheaths, claws, and tail. It had grown larger and had a beautiful pattern on the armor, reminiscent of the reef it came from. It stood on its hind legs in this form, and its armor expanded to its belly, shoulders, and arms. And its swords had become Fullmetal lances that seemed to be able to break any foe.

Retsuko looked at the evil monstrosity that floated before him.

They weren't fighting a pokemon anymore. They were fighting a monster.

Immediately, Neptune lunged into the air, ready to fight. It swung its lance at the pokemon, but its attack didn't work in the slightest.

The pokemon prepared to counterattack but Jackson and Neptune had planned ahead.

Samurott swung its heavy lance above his head, allowing it to force itself into a backflip kick.

Kuu appeared behind the pokemon, drawing its bow back.

Kuu hit the pokemon with a full-force spirit shackle, knocking it to the ground.

The battle-bond-powered spirit shackle had completely immobilized the beast, rendering half of her moveset unusable.

The pokemon's trainer still stood there, motionless and unresponsive.

Giant waves of dark energy started exploding from the pokemon, blasting everybody away from it.

"We aren't giving up yet!" Retsuko yelled.

Kuu and Neptune both powered through the waves and continued to attack the other pokemon, minding the crowds of people around them.

"Use Leaf Blade!" Retsuko ordered, as Kuu pulled out two of its feathers and covered them in spiritual energy, shaping them into two knife-like blades.

Kuu flew straight at its opponent and started to stab and cut at them, doing more and more damage with each slash.

The waves that the pokemon were emitting turned into explosions.

Retsuko and Jackson had to do something fast.

Neptune threw one of its lances into the closest explosion and shattered the barrier of energy blocking them from physically attacking.

Then it rushed in and used its second lance to parry the explosions

Jackson and Samurott were giving everything they had to win. Everything was dark, and energy surrounded Samurott.

Jackson could feel everything that Neptune was feeling.

They were completely in sync, and nothing would stop them.

Jackson could feel Neptune begin to give in to the power, and he knew that he couldn't hold in much longer.

Kuu shot an arrow at Neptune's lance, covering it in shadow energy.

Jackson looked over to Retsuko in confusion.

He smiled and gave him a thumbs up.

Jackson nodded in assurance.

He and Samurott gave one final push, together with Kuu and Retsuko.

The energy was now being absorbed into Kuu's arrow and Jackson was able to stab right through the pokemon, stopping the storm of energy and causing a massive explosion.

Once the dust settled it revealed only two conscious figures on the ground.

Those two were Kuu and Retsuko.

Retsuko woke up, panicked.

He grabbed his head in annoyance, noticing that he'd drifted off again.

Retsuko stood up and walked over to the sink, looking in the mirror.

He groaned, dissatisfied with his long and luscious hair.

Retsuko splashed some water on his face and shook his head, disoriented from the dream.

He stood up and grabbed a blue clip made of plastic off of the sink counter.

He flipped open the clip and straightened out his hair to make it easier to slide it in.

After some adjustment, he put in his hair clip so that his hair was now sticking upwards and spiky.

"There," Retsuko said, half satisfied.

He picked up his black and white hoodie off the shower rail and put it on.

He'd fallen asleep in his jeans and shirt, so he just grabbed them and put his clothes from the day before back on.

He walked to the kitchen, where Kuu was waiting for him.

Retsuko grabbed a box off the top of his refrigerator and Decidueye took a mix of different berries out of the fridge.

He opened his cabinet and picked up a large set of bowls.

He placed them on the kitchen counter with the help of Kuu, and then went back to his room to get his remaining five poke balls.

He released the pokemon inside of the devices, consisting of a Lycanroc, Volcarona, Galvantula, Alolan Rattata, and Goodra.

Retsuko grabbed his box of pokemon food and began to fill the pokemon's food bowls, Kuu placing the desired berries in each pokemon's bowl.

Retsuko leaned on the counter, munching on an Oran berry as he watched them eat.

He got an alert on his phone and nearly dropped it, finishing his berry quickly.

"Shit! I need to go guys, enjoy breakfa-" He said, hurrying out of the house.

He paused in the doorway and did a double-take.

"Lunch! Enjoy Lunch!" Retsuko corrected himself, shutting the door and running out of the house, Kuu and his Rattata following him.

The Rattata caught up to its trainer and hopped onto his arm.

"Oh, you decided to come too, Nez?" Retsuko asked, softly caressing the mouse's cheek.

Retsuko dashed through the district, entering the

He put on his black socks and then his prized "Black Aerial Ace." sneakers and left his apartment, with his Decidueye following close by.

2027 - Unova, Star City Shopping District

James, Raegan, and Noah walked through the streets of Star City's shopping district.

"So… Raegan?" James suggestively asked.

"No. The catch wasn't yours." Raegan completely rejected James.

"Rae, you're being a jerk again!" James called out, folding his arms behind his head.

"Why are you two always such nuisances!?" Noah snapped at his squadmates.

Raegan ignored her captain.

"Not to mention, Yachi DID tell us to work together as an actual team," James suggested.

"It wasn't in my intent to disobey our squad leader," Raegan mumbled.

"It wasn't either of our intentions," James added.

"Intention has nothing to do with it. You broke up the team by blindly chasing that Orakuru grunt James." Noah said to his younger brother.

"I still caught him in the end." James pouted.

"And YOUR dumbass let him escape," Raegan said, snickering.

"I told you both to stay out of my way," James said, standing his ground.

"Who gave you any authority?" Noah replied, completely shutting James down.

"W-What?! You can bring rank into this!" James defended himself.

"Settle your issue with our squad leader, not the captain," Raegan responded.

Noah sighed.

"What was Yachi thinking when she made this squad..." He mumbled.

James opened his mouth to answer but was interrupted by an alert from Noah's comm.

After listening to whatever the other agent had to say, he turned to Raegan and James.

He frowned.

"There's been another attack."

2027 - Unova, Star City Pokemon League Conference Room

A now full roundtable of league members sat, prepared to begin the meeting.

Madame Asther stood up.

"Retsuko Kourada. Jackson Danvers. Glad to finally have you with us." She said,

Retsuko had made it to the conference room soon after he'd arrived, leaving time for Jackson to get there several minutes later.

"Sorry..." Retsuko said bashfully, smiling awkwardly and scratching his head.

"This isn't the time for smiles." The Madame said coldly.

Retsuko wiped his awkward smirk off of his face and regained his composure.

Jackson sat back in the chair, comfortable as ever.

"Let's cut the shit... Why are we here?" He randomly asked.

Madame Asther sighed.

"We're calling the two of you here especially because the Unovan government is worried about your safety." Madame Asther explained.

"Elaborate." Jackson calmly demanded.

"Madame Asther pointed to a wall, where a board showing a graph was presented.

"Sir Shino?" Madame Asther asked, referring to the tall orderly man sitting across from Retsuko.

Sir Shino grabbed a slider out of his pick and pressed the forward button.

The slide changed to a brand of some sort, with a star with 8 points on it.

The writing was definitely English and it read in black and red ink, "Orakuru."

Madame Esther looked at Retsuko.

"Just this morning, two members of the Unova International Police apprehended and captured a 3rd ranking member of this terrorist group, who was rampaging through the city on the back of a wild Tyranitar." She explained.

"I heard about that on the news when I was on my way here," Jackson said.

"It was wild, huh?" Retsuko questioned.

"Yes." Sir Shino replied.

"Any names?" Jackson asked, suspicious of the madam.

"We've given them a codename... Orakuru." A board member told everyone.

"That's Japanese...?" Retsuko Deduced.

"Yes again." Madame Esther answered.

"It means Oracle," Retsuko explained to Jackson, who nodded.

Another button was pressed, moving the slide forward once more.

"Does this tie into the incident back in Galar?" Jackson asked.

"Incident?" Madame Esther asked.

"Apparently, there was a group of high school students caught up in the activities by a group known as the "Children of the Oracle," Jackson explained.

Retsuko nodded. "A friend of ours was involved. She's a student at the school."

"I see." Sir Shino said.

"Can we get in touch with that student!?" Madame Asther questioned, noticeably excited.

"I doubt it, but you can look into the event if you want," Retsuko advised.

"Is this ALL you wanted to converse about?" Jackson interrogated.

"No, there's one last thing." Another member of the table said.

He seemed to be a lieutenant of some sort, strong and bulky looking.

"Yes. Despite what you may be thinking, this terrorist group is extremely dangerous. As for now I cannot fully explain the situation, but be warned, these people are dangerous. A class 3 threat." The lieutenant said.

Jackson gave the lieutenant a dirty look.

"I don't live my life by some bullshit classifications," he said coldly.

"Well, you'll have to." Madame Asther said.

"Every member of major importance to our society is to be given maximum security at all times. When you eat, we'll be watching you. When you sleep, we'll be there. Even when you shit, we'll be there." The lieutenant explained.

"I'm the damn top-ranked trainer in the Region." Jackson loudly and sternly protested.

"Jax, calm do-" Retsuko began, but was swiftly cut off.

"I can protect myself AND my Pokemon, without any help from you government pigs." Jackson continued.

"This meeting was a waste of my precious time. I'm Leaving." Jackson said.

He walked out of the room, hitting the security guard at the entrance with his shoulder.

Retsuko frowned, feeling extremely pressured by the room's discomfort.

"S-Sorry about my friend. I'll go." He said.

Retsuko and Kuu got out of their chairs and left, Nez, remaining on his trainer's shoulder.

2027 - Unova, Star City Shopping District

Retsuko eventually kept up with Jackson, who had stormed out of the building and made it all the way to the city's shopping district.

"Jackson!" He shouted, grabbing onto his arm.

Jackson turned to look over his shoulder and saw his friend.

"Hi." Jackson blankly replied.

"What was that over there? Are you okay? Retsuko asked.

"I'm perfectly fine," Jackson said, sighing.

"Okay, do you wanna-" Retsuko began to ask.

"I need some time to go take care of things. I'll text you later." Jackson said, completely brushing off his friend.

Retsuko turned around to protest but found that Jackson had disappeared in the crowd of people around them.

Retsuko sighed.

"Like I said... Frick my life."

2027 - Unova, Star City District 3

In a warehouse in district 3, A man in a black and white mask with green hair stood over the same man from earlier who had the Tyranitar.

"You escaped unnoticed, right?" the man in the mask said.

A Castform floated beside him, as he took out a pair of gloves.

"Y-yes." the Tyranitar man replied.

"I see." The man in the mask said.

He brought up his hand and pressed his index and ring finger together.

"You succeeded in liberating the Tyranitar, but where you failed miserably was taking the Pokemon for an Arceus damned joyride across the shopping district." The masked man explained.

"I'm sorry sir, I was apprehended by the international police! I had no choice but to use the Tyranitar as a way of escape!" The man protested.

The masked man held his finger up.

"Stop there. That is where you are wrong. The keyword in that sentence... Was used. Pokemon aren't tools. We don't accept failures here. But what is punishable by death… Is abuse." the man interrupted.

He put on the gloves and tightened them.

"On behalf of the Orakuru. I hereby exterminate the unworthy." He said.

He made a gesture with his fingers and the Castform turned into a pure white beam of energy.

A ring of energy appeared around him and he was enveloped in the Castform, gaining its attributes.

The Tyranitar man shook in fear.

"No! Please don't! I'm sorry for abusing that pokemon, I'll take it back!"

The masked man began to walk towards the other man.

"You see, I don't have to listen to you. You're the unworthy side character."

He raised his arm, his mask being enveloped in a water bubble and his hands, chest, and frets being covered in water energy.

"Me on the other hand..." the masked man said.

He swiped his hand quickly, causing fatal damage to the other man.

He screamed In agony, slowly dying out from the wound.

The door to the warehouse opened, an amber-haired lady walking into the room.

"Sir Ascension," she said, referring to the masked man.

Ascension looked up from the limp and bleeding body of his victim.

The lady looked at the ascension.

"The plans for the raid are ready." the lady told him.

"Ah. Prepare a helicopter for me and arrange several vans for my men." Ascension ordered.

The lady nodded and walked out of the room.

Ascension smiled.

"I am the real threat here." Ascension finished.

2027 - Unova, Star City Shopping District

Retsuko sighed, he, Kuu, and Nez walking through the streets back to their apartment.

"I can't believe Jackson just up and dripped on me..." he groaned.

He lifted his head.

"Not much I can do now." He said.

He looked at Nez.

"Should I go back to sleep?" he asked Rattata.

Nez shook his head in disapproval, Kuu doing the same.

"You guys are right, maybe I sh-" Retsuko began to respond but was interrupted by a tap on his shoulder.

He turned around and came face to face with a beautiful redheaded girl around his age, with purple shiny eyes.

She had a Flareon perched on her head, holding on with its paws.

Retsuko looked at the girl in shock, instantly recognizing her.

She was definitely older now, but it was her.

"Via?" Retsuko questioned.

2027 - Unova, Star City Transportation Center

The midday train arrived at the Central station, just on time.

As the doors opened and the steam blew from the track pressure being released, a Violet-haired boy walked out of the subway, bag in hand.

He inhaled deeply, his black tie blowing from the air.

He smiled widely.

"Star City, here I am!" The boy shouted.

"Kyu Ichinose… Is back!"

I hope you enjoyed the first chapter of Pokemon Re: Dux. The second chapter is in the works and will be released when it is completed. Have a wonderful day.
