To tell the truth, Alex was not really looking for trouble, nor was he in for the credit of being alive still, but here he was.
Full name was Alexander Trainn, nickname was 'Tricks', and he was a working employee, well former employee after getting in and getting fired via store getting wrecked by a villain attack because, 'apparently' the burners had wronged Mr. Freeze before the Batman came in and fought with the cold scientist to keep them from busting through the wall and getting into the jewels on the other side.
It was a quick check and kick out, but he was far from homeless, he managed a lonely housing complex that NO one wished to stay in due to Gotham's criminal elements as he got in his car and drove away, gripping the wheel tight before relaxing, knowing that getting angry at someone losing their business and kicking him out was not the way to live as he drove into the night, he taking the back roads to get back home, the complex just resting on a cliff face out of the city and on the outskirts which, arguably, was stupid to do, but he didn't insist in giving it up as he continued on, the rain starting to come down with his windshield whippers going off before he started to climb and get straight again, eyes taking in something before he came to a stop with a face in surprise.
Just a distance away from the complex was one of Gotham's super villains, Poison Ivy, the seductive woman whose powers were over nature itself, but she didn't look so good as he parked it and got out, rushing over to take it all in, as well as the protruding stone that had clearly got through her hip and poked out from behind as he, without another thought, carefully rolled her over and pulled the spike out.
Now, a normal civilian would have called her in and just left her alone, but not Alex 'Tricks', he had a moral ground above being actually stupid as he held the spike and watched as Ivy tried to heal herself, but she couldn't fully and, while it was clear that she couldn't get sick, the wound would not close as more blood pooled before Alex headed back to the car, tossing the spike in and going back to lift Ivy up, her blood staining, but he was not in a rush to change as he got back and dropped the seats before beginning his work of patching it up, fully expecting that she would be fine soon, but still had a moral right to make sure she was okay as he stitched and bandaged as he could before he made sure she was secured and headed off to the Complex, he remembered that he had some heating lamps down in the basement for those cold nights, getting the feeling that he could help speed up her healing...
Pamela Isley or Poison Ivy blinked a few times to remember what happened before it came back, cursing under her breath that fall that should have killed her when she was tossed by her plants going out of control to the sudden attack of Freeze, she stopped short as a... bearable bout of heat flowed over her and made her aware that she was not somewhere on the road to bleed out some more, she was in a tub of water, heating lamps shining on her and engaging her photosynthesis feature to heal more, hand grazing the patchwork of medical supplies on her body before a door opened, she looking to find a male coming in, but he didn't look like he was pleased that she was at his grasp or scared that she was a villain, it was a frown as he spoke. "Oh good, I was worried that the lamps wouldn't get you healing again, I just went out to find some suitable soil, but I couldn't in that downpour."
She detailed his features, from a brown mane of hair cut short, the bomber jacket that looked like it was part of the armed forces once, to the glasses on his face as he pushed them up, he wasn't built, but he certainly wasn't weak as she spoke up, still laying on her back in the water, it clean for the most part. "Where...?" Somehow, the civilian had the answer as he spoke.
"You are currently in the Bolmax Complex, it's my home out on the edge of Gotham City, it's quiet as no one wants to stay in someplace that is close to crime, but I manage just fine." He rolled his wrist. "I am not rich rich if that is what you are thinking, but I am decently set until age fifty." She blinked before she found more of her voice.
"Why did you... patch me up?"
"Unlike most morons from Gotham, I actually care about some of the people, it doesn't matter if they are villains, heroes, or in-between, I care enough that no one else would." He rested his arms on his knees as he look to one of the lamps and adjusted it, her legs getting better heat with the adjust. "Get some rest and THEN you can complain about the poor room service or lack of plants, I haven't had anyone stop here for a while, a year at least." He got up and headed back out, closing the door quietly as Ivy peered up, the ceiling not to her liking, but it was an interest that she was in one of the top floors and it had a skylight, raining pouring down as she extended out her senses and felt the Green answer her back, but she held it to a calm.
She despises men and hates how they destroy the world, but she wasn't going to attack this one yet, this could work out for her... a safe-house out of Gotham and away from the Bat...
Alex worked to keep it going, but he knew that he needed to recharge the generators again, the batteries, or just a battery, connected downstairs were finally getting drained and needed the solar panels up top to be opened and get some sunlight flowing in, but while the storm was going on, he couldn't do it as he nodded with making the connection good before he headed back out, it had been a while since the panels were used, a part on him that was completely moronic, but he still needed to check as he headed up and popped open the maintenance door, bracing to the wind and storm before he scrambled over to the panels, checking them over before getting them to manually open and close before he stopped on the last and found it was shut tight, baring his teeth before working to open it up, it finally popping open to his stumble back.
He would have recovered with standing on the rooftop, but he didn't account for the wind again as it rushed right at him and blew him off, he not really believing his luck as the two-story building was now a few feet from him before he started to fall, he attempting to roll in the air to keep himself from breaking his back or shattering his skull when something grabbed him, he looking to find vines saving him and noticing that a tree had grown in the soft soil with perfect health within seconds before he was lowered to the ground and stood before the tree before he rested his hands on it and planted his forehead on the bark. "Thanks, Ivy, thanks for the save, even if you just view me more like a pest and an excuse..." He pushed off lightly to headed back up, the vines coming up to ensure his safety as he chuckled. "I get it, I get it, I am a bit too much of a danger-prone guy to be left alone." He went back to checking up and nodded before he looking back, patting the closest vine. "Get back to your tree, it's time for all of us to turn in." The vines acknowledged the request and Alex headed down, locking the way up and double checking before calling it good, shutting off the lights for the night as the lamps were left to run for the night...
Ivy recovered fast, thanks to the treatment, as she sat up at the crack of dawn and got out, turning the lamps off and waving a hand to find they were hot, her face taking on a frown as she questioned. 'Did he really just leave them on for me...?' She hummed before she headed out, her tree extending it's vines to her as it lifted her up and to the ground as the day greeted her before she surged her powers up, to get a better vantage point and was amazed that the complex was indeed out of town, it had some real good soil to work with, and it was isolated enough that no one from either the Bat Family or the Gotham police could interrupt her work there.
She shook her head before heading out, back into the city to keep a low profile as she rode out to her old safe house, breathing to find that neither of her roommates had made a big deal about her return, that was until Harley squealed. "Whoa, Red, I didn' know you could grow pretty flowers from your hair!"
"I what...?" Ivy questioned as Harley bounced in pointing, Ivy raising a hand to feel something fall into her hands before she brought it forward, eyes surprised at the white chrysanthemum that was now in her hand, her mind racing a to when she grew that, growing things was true to her nature, but to actually grow something from her own hair, that was something else, and the flower meant friendship, as a stable of support that would help as she smirked, growing the flower out and putting it among the other plants as she spoke. "I guess that late rain really wanted to make a statement." There was little she could figure out right then about the whole thing, but she would make it her mission to use the Complex as much as she wants and maybe turn that young man to her side...
