Welcome to Australia, Charlie Brown!

Episode 11: Stopping the Poachers

CHAPTER 1: FINDING JOEY

"Can you describe the men, missy?" That was the police talking to Gini about what the poachers looked like. Everyone was at the local police station giving them their information and what they knew about the criminals. The kangaroos were an afterthought, at this point, as the main focus was getting Joey back.

"One guy was really fat an' ugly," Gini replied. "I think he was th' ringleader. I heard one o' his men call him Jody."

"Crikey, that name sounds familiar," said the detective in charge. "Let me check that out. Mason, look up any man named Jody who was involved in 'roo poaching recently." And Mason got busy looking on the computer looking for a Jody who was in volved in poaching. Something had come up.

"Here it is, Lou," said Mason. "Jody Overton. A notorious leader of a poaching ring. He's been put on Australia's most wanted list."

"Good grief!" shuddered Charlie Brown.

"Kids, do you know where the compound is?" asked Lou.

"We do, detective," said Claire Montana, who was still angry over Vincent being a part of the ring. "And, aside from rescuing Joey, I have personal interest in busting these bloody jerks."

"Okay, it's time we busted up this ring once and for all, kids," said Lou.

"C'mon guys," said Jadan. "Les rescue m' brother!" And everyone left for the compound.

Back at the compound, Joey was tied up, with Vincent watching him. Joey was wondering how he could escape and find Jadan and the rest. He didn't try while Vincent or someone else was watching him. He made sure to stay on their good side, as all they wanted was the ransom. To the poacher's credit they did take good care of Joey while they held him there, feeding him and letting him watch TV. At that moment, Vincent's father Niles walked in.

"Vincent, you're needed outside," he said.

"Dad, I was 'posed to watch Joe here," said Vincent.

"He'll be okay," assured Niles. "He's not goin' anywhere. Jody brought some 'roo chow for th' next hunt an' he needs help unloadin' it."

"Okay, dad." And after checking Joey's restraints, Vincent and Niles went out to help with the unloading of kangaroo food.

Joey looked around for something sharp to cut the ropes. The poachers didn't leave anything useful for him. He heard someone coming in. He figured it was one of the poachers coming in to watch him for Vincent. But then he saw a kangaroo come in. But it wasn't no ordinary kangaroo. He immediately recognized the 'roo.

"Hops!" he said happily, seeing his sister's kangaroo. "You come t' rescue me, ol' gal?"

"And I brought help," she said through her thoughts. At that moment, Snoopy, Gracie, and Woodstock also came in. Woodstock went to see if the coast was clear. Snoopy and Gracie proceeded to cut the ropes with an animal's tooth they found outside. Once the ropes were cut, Joey and the pets made their escape. They watched as the poachers and Jody unloaded the food and was bringing it into a storage barn. So, they made their escape through the back. They made sure that no one was watching in the back. They didn't see anyone. And when they thought the coast was clear, they disappeared into Bush Country.
