(That feeling when you have a really good idea for fanfiction but are in the middle of another. FFFFUUUUUCK! In all serio, let me explain what this is.
I used the writing in all these stories to make vent myself of all the ideas the stewed in my brain because of how constricting school was, mentally. In fact, I started doing this because of a dare. However, in doing so, I have overloaded my capability to write all these stories because I want to do all of them.
So for now- Mythos, Go Beyond, No More, My MOBA Hero Academia, The Vagabond, and The Very Best are on Hiatus. I'm going to focus on two stories that I'm really passionate about writing at the moment. This one and my Ao3 story called Afraid To Be Feared. I'm sorry but I will do this because I enjoy it.)
A lot was happening in the next few days for Midoriya and his classmates. It had been 2 days since the final exams had ended, and everyone was resting from the effort. Deku was especially tired and ready for rest, his mind still unsettled and in a wreck from Blackwhip's manifestation. It was absurd to the greenette, the revelation of One For All's secret.
He'd gone from quirkless for most of his life, to owning the strongest quirk alive and it boosting an extra six set of powers he would receive in time.
Midoriya was counting on things getting harder to conceal the truth from everyone, his secret for the afterlife. Thankfully, there were other developments to think about.
Nezu had announced that to increase cooperation, excite dorm life to keep students in good emotional and mental health and ease the tension between them, class 1-A and B were having one big manor built for them. The other courses were getting the same treatment and were given a week after moving in to adjust to the new style. It was exciting as the most interaction he ever got with 1-B was a few conversation bits here and there. That was for later, however, as for right now, Midoriya was looking at a very sight. The towering apartments up ahead brought a smile to his face.
'Mom sounded a lot more excited than usual when I called about coming home for the weekend. Wonder what the surprise is?' He couldn't contain the joy in him.
Getting to the floor faster than he's ever done in the past, Midoriya knocked on the door of the home he missed. His mother, now petite thanks to his training plan for her, answered the door. A whimper from her before completely seeing her face caused him to be alarmed, only to be confused as she smiled while crying. She usually didn't cry for his visit this early in.
They hugged tightly as he asked her. "M-Mom, are you okay!? What's going on?"
"It's a w-wonderful surprise sweetie..." She said, crying tears of joy that he'd been unaware were withheld for this moment.
A moment that would change his life from that point forward.
As Inko walked him in, he noted that she was almost signaling someone in the living room with her eyes. She gave one last leading tug and Midoriya's eyes landed on someone. A stranger he'd never met but was clearly not Japanese.
The guest stood up and made his outfit plain for all to see, if you could call it an outfit that is. It was more along the lines of stylish battle gear, with a red leather coat over a black T-Shirt, one belt with a gold buckle stretched over his chest while two more hugged his stomach. His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows and his index and thumb were left uncovered by his black gloves. His leather pants were also black but ended with a red pattern on the bottom, his groin and inner thigh also in red. Completing the look was a belt with a silver demon on the buckle.
The foreigner had white hair down to his jawline and sharp white eyes. He had the faintest stubble that only certain lighting could make prominent.
His eyes landed on something that stoked his curiosity and hero instincts. It also made him question his mother's sanity for letting him in.
"M-Mom? Who is this?"
A harness with two lengthy hand cannon pistols, one black, and the other silver, was hidden in his coat. What was unmistakably a claymore of some kind with a ribcage design on the hilt was leaning on the wall, as if it were casual indoor broom.
"Easy there. The last thing I'd do to your mother is hurt, especially after all you two have been through."
Izuku's eyes widened as a slight fear pierced him, but he stayed strong and demanding, ready to call on his Full Cowling at a moment's notice. "All we've been through- WHO ARE YOU!?"
"Well, I asked Inko to never give you my real name." The man almost looked torn but still understanding. "...You never even got to meet me when you were little."
"Am I supposed to know you!?" Izuku stepped defensively in front of his mother, face hardened at the intruder.
"Izuku, please. Just hear him out, sweetie." Izuku was surprised at his mother's defense for him.
"What!?"
"It's gonna be a lot so you might wanna sit down, kiddo." As green eyes turned back to him he chuckled when he saw the freckles. He clearly took after his mother's side.
"Izuku...it's me." Both men looked each other in the eyes. "Your father."
In one second, Midoriya let go of all of his emotions. Both mother and father got increasingly worried as their son made no attempt to move.
"I know you're upset with me for not being there during all this, but please, let me-UMPH!"
Inko, in a whirl of sudden action, felt the air push against her face as Izuku practically teleported to her husband. She was scared he'd attacked him out of rage but found a sight that made her gasp loudly, happiness spikey her waterworks.
The man vigorously returned the shocking embrace of his son. "I thought you'd be furious with me!?"
"Y-Y-You w-weren't th-ere, sure, I g-guess, but y-your b-ack. Th-That...tells me enough. It's good to finally meet you dad." Sobbed Izuku.
"...Good to be back."
Inko couldn't have been a happier mother that evening.
Back at U.A, all the courses were preparing for the merging of the dormitories. It was still surreal to realize that they were going to be loving in manors with their friends. Kendou walked by herself along a more unknown trail, stewing in her thoughts as she wandered around the campus.
Her class had never been at the epicenter of too much trouble, but the camp invasion painted an ugly picture about what 1-A dealt with consistently. Things got even wilder with the Yakuza raid four of their classmates took part in, and that's before the events of the final exam.
Kendou looked city of Musutafu, both the near and far view. 'And somehow...we're still first years.'
As she continued down the path, she realized that she wasn't alone on it. Up ahead was Uraraka, who she only knew because of her supposed tight-knit friendship with Midoriya. Uraraka drooped forward on the bench, having a far-off look about something that clearly bothered her.
'Well, no harm in trying to see what's wrong. I mean, we are going to be living together in 2 days, so...'
"Hey, Uraraka! It's Kendou, from class 1-B."
Although startled a bit at first, Uraraka managed a simper and waved hello from her spot. "Sorry, if I ruined your walk, I didn't know somebody else used this path this time for the day too."
"Oh, stop it. Company of any kind is great in moments like this...I, uh, saw you lookin a little down just now. You wanna talk about it?"
Uraraka nearly flinched but kept her composure. "I-it's nothing, really. Besides, I don't want to impose on you Kendou. You already have your hands full with your classmates I bet."
Kendou just grinned and shot a playful wink at her. "Girrrrl, we're going to be living together pretty soon and Nezu says it's to make us closer. If you need to let it out then go ahead, I'm all ears!" She finished with a thumbs up.
"Um...I-If you say so." Uraraka managed to form another ghost of a smile in gratitude.
Kendou and Uraraka got comfortable on the bench, both sensing it wasn't going to be a short talk.
"Where do I start?"
"Whatever you're comfortable with sharing first." The ginger made a soft expression.
"...You know Midoriya, right? Big green, bushy hair, freckles, kind of plain looking." Uraraka bit her lip as even she felt bad describing him as visually bland.
"Yep." Kendou popped her lips.
"Well, for a while I've...had a crush on him and..." The brunette's internal battle was only reaffirmed by the lack of heat in her cheeks about the topic
Kendou made an "Oh" face, thinking she caught the gist. "So, you want to confess to him!" She cheered.
"No...that's just it. He's my best friend and I think that's as far as my feelings really went."
'Oh...that is pretty awkward to go through.' Kendou shook her head, narrowing one eye as she tried to clarify. "Wait, are you saying that you never really liked him this way orrrr-"
"Yeah!-I mean, yes. You see, I first met him at the entrance exam and he was accepted because he got a ton of hero points for saving me from the zero pointer."
"Woah, Midoriya took that thing down!? I ran away the first time I saw it."
Uraraka smiled genuinely this time, happy someone else was admiring her best friend's heroic spirit. "In a single punch too. Right there, is where I think these apparent feelings started popping up."
"Ah, you fell in love with your hero~." Teased Kendou. Uraraka rubbed the back of her head while looking away with a sheepish smile, a tick she picked up from Midoriya.
"Yeah haha, you can say that. Ever since then, Midoriya kept doing more and more heroic stuff. He was amazing ever since I met him, and it's only until recently that I realize what all this was inside of me." Kendou placed a hand on her shoulder as she noticed Uraraka's smiled slowly turn dreary.
"Hey, don't worry. Just let it out." Her hand went behind her to rub circles in her back.
"I was never interested in him...just on some high for everything about him. H-He's a great guy don't get me wrong, but it's not real."
"...I see what you mean, actually." Uraraka perked up when she heard her. Did Kendou understand her position?
"You want to continue being friends with him, but you're afraid this "high" of yours is gonna keep getting in the way." Kendou said, grinning confidently in her conclusion.
"Yes! Yes! That's exactly what I need to figure out!" Uraraka had to hold herself back from both shaking and hugging her grinning bench partner.
Kendou had always felt inadequate as a class president. No matter how much praise her classmates gave her for doing all her responsibilities well and keeping Monoma in line, it never felt good enough. Yaoyorozu was Vice-president and still managed to do plenty of things for her class, not to mention Iida's diligence. To see some of her efforts, helping another fellow student, rewarded made Kendou internally ecstatic.
"I don't want anything getting in the way of his dream and me supporting him all the way! Plus, I may or may not have an idea I'm trying to pull off."
"Then let's see if we can knock out two birds with one stone. Hit me!"
Uraraka breathed in, ready to spew her plan. "...Deku is always downplaying himself and how amazing he really is. It got me to look at him as boyfriend material, so it's definitely not "nothing" like he says it is." Uraraka pursed her lips, choosing her next words carefully. "I'm not trying to manipulate him or anything, I just want to make it obvious how amazing he really is."
"No no, I understand. It makes sense why you'd want to help him. I think he's amazing too."
"Oh? Have you talked to him before?" Asked Uraraka.
"No, but...the sports festival and our final exam let me see that in person. Just the stories I've heard about him alone, make him look like such an unreachable mountain." Uraraka watched Kendou once again turn to the city view, walls of U.A not high enough for the hill to cover it.
Kendou had made up her mind. "Again, we're going to be dorm mates, so you know what?" The ginger stood for a quick stretch and pointed towards Uraraka confidently. "I'm going to help you carry this plan out!"
"Ehh!? Really!?"
"Uh-huh. Everybody wins in the end anyway. Midoriya gets more confident, you salvage your friendship, I get to know him better, and we all become better friends."
Uraraka tilted her head in confusion at Kendou, who was unsure what was confusing until she realized. "It's because...I agree with you. Midoriya's a great guy, and I want to be as awesome as he is!"
Uraraka beamed for the possibility of a new friend for the green wonder she called a friend and hero.
Midoriya enjoyed a slice of Pizza with his now complete family. The smiles and laughter that reverberated in the apartment made him feel warm inside.
A question inside him was gnawing for an answer, but he didn't want to ruin the mood of this unforeseen reunion.
Luckily, it seemed his father made it time for questions to be answered.
Everyone relaxed and settled down once more. Midoriya's father looked over at him and smiled wistfully, ready to spill the truth.
"Okay, so...your first question is no doubt where I've been all these years, right?"
"Y-Yeah, dad."
While not a usual feeling, his father felt giddy inside hearing him being called "dad." "I...had a life before marrying your mother. When Inko and I met, I was in the middle of yet another situation caused by it. She found me healing in some literal hole in the wall from a ton of injuries."
"He was an absolute mess, there was I don't know how many gashes and wounds across his body." Inko grimaced as she remembered the state of his body then.
"Yeah, I was not a pretty sight but I was used to it. That didn't stop her from taking me in and feeding me though."
"What in the world happened for you to end up like that anyway!? Were you attacked by a villain?"
"Heh, I wish that was it but no...no it's not that simple. I'm...a hunter of sorts. I can tell you my story but I think you should hear this first." His advice earned a nod.
"When we settled down, I felt I had made the best decision of my life...that is until my old life caught up to me. I had to leave Japan and keep living like I used to...to keep Inko safe. It hurt, even more, when I learned that she was now pregnant with you."
"All he could do to support us was send money that earned doing what he did best..."
"I've been known by one name my whole life, and it's actually the middle name I wanted you to have. Something Inko Simon board with." Midoriya was excited by his father's words.
"The name I had chosen was Hisashi D. Midoriya. The D is my given and your middle name."
"D?" Midoriya's brain comically attributed the letter to his hero name, Deku.
Inko nodded and felt herself grow giddy as the love of her life gained that cool smirk she remembered him for. "Yep. D, kiddo." He said crossing leaning back with his feet crossed on a chair's backrest.
"D for Dante."
(So it was pretty fast-paced I know but hopefully, you all will get excited about this story as much as I do. My first true attempt at a crossover story. A lot of writers tend to just completely ignore Uraraka's feelings but I'm going to use it as a stepping stone with a story behind it. Leave a review about what you think!)
