Agent Parker
One
Balancing school, homework, his secret job, and being Spiderman was hard, but somehow, Peter managed to do it.
No one but the people at S.H.I.E.L.D. knew about his triple life. Of course, Aunt May, Happy, Ned, MJ, and the Avengers knew about Spiderman, but none of them knew he was a S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent.
Peter was good at keeping secrets. Sort of.
Aunt May, Ned, and MJ finding out that he was Spiderman were all accidents- and they were totally not his fault.
Definitely.
But the Avengers knew because he told them. Happy knew because Tony told him.
Peter would have told them all he was an Agent… if it weren't for the fact that his family was very overprotective. He knew exactly what they would say- he was too young, too innocent, he was only sixteen, he was too young, blah, blah, blah. He'd heard it all before when they found out he was Spiderman.
So no, Peter was not telling them he was a S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent, unless he absolutely had to, for one reason and one reason only,
Peter loved his job.
I mean, how could he not? Obviously, he loved being Spiderman, but being an Agent was just so freeing! He could go out in the field, away from New York, without a mask, because no one would recognize him. He loved his coworkers, who were like a second- no, third- family to him. Fury and Coulson were like uncles to him- despite the eye patch and the grumpy facade, Fury was really just a big softie (and Coulson was even nicer than Peter was told he was- and people said he was very nice).
Also, the uniforms and sunglasses were awesome.
Not to mention, Peter finally got to put his great aim to good use, because each Agent had their own pistol (although, with his Super Strength, he didn't always use one).
And his team was awesome.
Coulson was the leader, obviously, and Fitz and Jemma were two of the smartest, coolest people he'd ever met. He was able to nerd out with them at least once a day. Melinda was scary, but also amazing, because she didn't treat Peter like he was a kid although she was a little protective of him at times. And he was also the only person that could call her Mel or Melinda or Aunt Mel without getting a concussion). Daisy was pretty awesome, with her Quake powers and stuff- which totally did not obey the laws of physics at all. He, Daisy, and FitzSimmons often stayed up late laughing with each other and pulling pranks.
He didn't really like Ward. The guy was too uptight, and never took Peter seriously. Peter's Peter Tingle also went haywire whenever he was around the guy (he didn't trust him, there was something fishy about him).
Coulson had given out wristwatches to the entire team- Stark Tech- that the team used to communicate with each other. They worked as comms, where only Peter could hear what was being said, a phone, where everyone could hear, and for text messaging.
He was at the tower, getting ready to leave for school, when he received the message from Daisy over his watch. The screen flashed red, and he saw it had been sent to everyone but Ward.
SOS, the screen said. Ward is Hydra. Koenig is dead. He's coming for you all.
Using the training Melinda had been teaching him, Peter calmed himself down. He honestly wasn't that surprised that Ward had betrayed them.
But it still hurt.
"Pete?" Tony asked him, seeing the serious expression on the teen's face. "You okay?"
"Yeah," Peter lied, his teeth clenched, not looking up from his watch. "I'm gonna be late for school. I'll see you guys later!"
A chorus of "bye's" and "see ya's!"" and "have a good day's!" echoed in his ears as he rushed out of the tower.
He sent a private message to Fury as soon as he was out of the building.
I assume that you know?
Seconds later, he had a response.
I know.
Peter breathed a sigh of relief. Fury knew.
What are my orders, sir? He typed.
Your orders are to go to school, stay safe, and stay out of this. Ward is a dangerous man, but he's not an idiot. He won't try to attack you at school.
Peter sighed. He wanted to be with his team, fighting with them.
But orders were orders. And Peter did not have a death wish, so he was not going to disobey a direct order from Fury.
Yes, sir, he typed back.
