THIS CHAPTER HAS BEEN REVISED AS OF: 1/19/2021
In a room only lit up by a desk lamp, a young boy with lighish-brown hair and a large scar on his left eye was fiddling with a smartphone. He had on a long black cloak with a hood over a red tee-shirt, baggy ripped beige pants, hiking boots, and bandages wrapped around his arms.
"Ookay, so I just had to tap this and..." he told himself as he tapped on the screen to activate the camera, "Bingo!"
Satisfied with his handiwork, he soon pointed it right at himself as he took a seat.
"Okay, so I finally figured out how to work a freaking smartphone..." he told the camera as he scratched the back of his head in an embarrassed manner, "Well to be fair, we didn't have anything like this where I came from..."
After taking a deep breath, the boy soon took a deep breath, "Anyway, I'm currently recording this in case I die and somebody finds this by chance" he noted as took a few seconds to recompose himself, "My name is Martin. Why no last name? Well, it's not like I was given one to begin with... But that's besides the point, so you're wondering where I came from..."
"I come from Angel Grove, specifically the one from Dimension 626. Back then, my town was constantly under attack by evil monsters of all shapes and sizes..."
The town was in danger, large grey humanoid creatures with chest shields brazened with a stylized Z was attacking Angel Grove, led by a large humanoid with an octopus and elephant theme to it.
"Hahaha! The day is ours!" the octopus monster cheered with glee as he attacked the citizens, "Truly, this is a great comeback worthy of the mighty Octophantom! Nyeh he he he!"
"But, when the going got tough, there was a group of teenagers with attitude with the power to fight against these beasts..."
As the attack continued, soon six individuals ran to the battlefield.
"Oh great, it's him again..." the first person spoke in annoyed manner, he was a man with his hair tied up in a ponytail. He wore a white and grey striped buttoned up shirt over a light grey muscle shirt, and black denim jeans.
"You'd think he'd stay dead after the first time..." a young man with short brown hair, a red flannel shirt, and blue jeans pondered aloud.
"Of course, as if any of them would Rocky... They are Zedd's monsters after all..." a woman with braided hair, a long sleeved yellow shirt, and light grey pants grumbled.
"Don't worry Aisha, we can handle him just like we did last time" a young man with black hair and a black varsity jacket over a light purple shirt declared as he prepared himself for a fight.
"You can't let your guard down Adam, just because he's back doesn't mean that he's the same as before..." a young man with glasses and a blue denim jacket over a darker navy blue shirt warned.
Soon, a young girl with a blue sleeveless denim vest and pink dress walked up to the man in white, "You ready for this Tommy?" she asked him.
"Of course Kim" the man, Tommy, told the woman, Kim, before all six took out from their pockets a pair of wrist mounted devices.
"They were... the Power Rangers..."
"It's morphing time!" Tommy declared as they extended a circular ring-like key from the right piece and placed it into their left, causing a burst of electricity to rain down and hit the six.
"Tigerzord!" Tommy shouted as he was now in a white suit with matching boots and gloves that had gold cuffs, a large golden shield with black in the middle, and a coin with a tiger symbol on the center. His belt was that of a classic Chinese warrior with a large white Chinese Dao sword with a tiger head on the pommel, while his helmet resembled that of a tiger.
"Red Dragon!" Rocky shouted as he was now in a red suit with a white vest lined with gold and a D with five colors on the right of the vest, the same belt as Tommy's suit, his gloves and boots having white cuffs with gold around the edges, and a laser gun in his holster. Finally, his helmet was based on that of a Chinese dragon.
"Lion!" Adam declared as he was now in a very similar suit to Rocky's apart from the green color and lion-inspired helmet.
"Unicorn!" the man with glasses, Billy, declared as he received the same suit, apart from the blue color along with the unicorn-based helmet.
"Griffon!" Aisha called out as she donned on the same suit, albeit more fit for her figure along with the yellow coloring and griffin-like helmet.
"Firebird!" Kim declared as she received a suit that was similar to Aisha's suit, but it came with a skirt to go with the pink color and pheonix-inspired helmet.
Soon, they stood against the monster as it turned towards the six. "What the?! The Power Rangers?!" Octophantom cried out, "Not you again!"
"You better believe it!" the White Thunder Ranger declared as he pointed his sword at the monster, "And now it's time to turn you into calamari!"
At once, the six charged into battle as they fought off the goons, the Red and Green Thunder Rangers using a pair of swords and a cujel respectively as they beat down the mooks. Meanwhile, the Yellow and Pink Thunder Rangers came across a squadron when they pulled out a pair of silver wheel-like weapons with a red grip.
"Power Wheels!" the girls declared as they launched their wheels against the monsters, hitting them with gusts of wind.
Finally, the White Thunder Ranger fought against Octophantom solo as he slashed at the monster. "Grah, why do you Rangers have to butt into my business!" the monster roared as he fired from his eyes massive red beams that forced his opponent to roll away. However the White Thunder Ranger was ready for him as he performed a sweeping kick and performed an upwards leaping slash.
"How do you like them apples huh?" Tommy joked as the monster got up before grabbing his head several times.
"Ow! My head! YOU CUT MY HEAD!" Octophantom complained as he took out several starfish-like bombs and tossed them at the White Thunder Ranger. Fortunately, he was ready for them as he effortlessly cut through them with a single slice.
"Honestly from what my parents told me about, the Power Rangers were likely the coolest guys you could meet... It was like that for a time, but then that was before... he showed up..."
The town was left in ruins as various mechanical debris littered the area, along with the dead bodies of the other Rangers scattered across the battlefield. There was a sound of a sword fight to be heard in this desolate wasteland as the White Thunder Ranger was facing off against an unknown opponent.
"Grah! You'll... never... beat us!" he declared against his opponent before he heard a chuckle.
"Please, I've already won..." the mystery opponent taunted him as he parried the White Thunder Ranger's attack. He then took the Power Morphers from the arms of the White Thunder Ranger before plunging a copy of the same sword that Tommy wielded into his chest, killing him.
As the figure wiped the blood off the blade, he merely chuckled as he stared at the morphers he had just acquired. It was a copy of the White Thunder Ranger, but something about him was different. His helmet had more of a draconic vibe to it, his shield was more angular with green on the top, and he had full arm guards and shinguards as opposed to the cuffs of before.
"They call him... Lord Drakkon..."
Soon, an armored soldier with a mastadon-like helmet ran towards him. "Sir, we have the dimension secured..." the soldier told him.
"Excellent..." Drakkon told him as he gave him the morphers, "Send these to Finster 5 for analysis..."
"Sir yes sir!" the soldier declared as he took the morphers and ran off, allowing Drakkon to look at the various other soldiers with the same armor rounding up various civilians while several yellow armored fighters with sabertooth tiger-like helmets loaded them into transports.
"He destroyed my home, killed the Rangers for their morphers, and turned many of us into slaves..."
Meanwhile, a young couple were hiding from the Mastadon and Sabertooth Sentries as they feared for their lives.
"Mom and dad, you could say that they were a part of the lucky ones. Those that weren't killed on sight or taken as slaves had to scavenge for food and drinks... It was a hard life, but it was the one that I was born into..." The boy soon shrugged his shoulders before putting his hand onto his face for a moment.
"Kenny, I'm scared..." the young girl said as she held onto the boy for comfort.
"Don't worry Talia, I won't let them catch us..." the boy, Kenny, told the girl as they began to shift through the rubble in hopes of not being scene.
SEVERAL YEARS LATER...
"I always look back to that day, when the Armada captured my parents... It was my fifth birthday, and dad decided to give me something amazing as a gift..."A young Martin ran into their little shack after he was done playing, where he was greeted by his parents who were smiling at him. After blowing out the candles and eating the cake, the older Kenny took out an object wrapped with cloth and rope. Excited, the child unwrapped the cloth to reveal an old worn-out sword with an ornate red handle and a coin at the center of it that depicted a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
"Woah, what is this?" the little boy asked his father.
"It's the Power Sword, the original Power Sword..." the older Kenny told his son, "I got it from an old friend of mine..."
"Wait, you mean you met the Red Ranger?! I thought he's dead?" the little boy gasped in surprise.
"Well there is more than one Red Ranger in the world..." the woman chuckled.
The young boy's face soon lit up as his father told him stories of the Power Rangers, sometimes exaggerating several things for the sake of seeing his son smile.
"It was my dad that instilled in me the hope the Power Rangers had given them when they were still alive. Whenever he would tell me about them, his face seemed to light up as he recounted their adventures. It was then that I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up..."
"Dad, I want to be a Power Ranger when I'm older!" the young Martin declared with hope in his eyes, "That way, I can keep you guys safe and make you smile like they did!"
This caused the man's smile to fade away as he turned towards his son with a sad expression. "Son, I'm afraid it's all but impossible to become one..." he told him bluntly, "I.. I don't want to lose you to Drakkon's forces..."
"But why not?" Martin asked as he briefly pouted, "If the Power Rangers were here, they could kick that Drakkon guy's butt!"
"Sadly, the good times couldn't last for long as the Power Sword still had some residual morphing energy, which meant that it led Drakkon's forces right to us..."
"Open up!" the trio heard as Kenny spotted several armored warriors banning on the door. They had red capes with gold on the inside, a shoulder pad that had the same Tyrannosaurus symbol as the Power Sword, and a helmet done up like a T-rex. "By order of Lord Drakkon, you two are under arrest for illegally housing a Ranger!"
"Tyrannosaurus Sentries!" Kenny growled before turning to Martin, "Listen son, you need to take the emergency tunnel and make a run for it. Your mother and I will buy you some time to escape"
"But dad, what about you and mom?" the little boy asked as he looked at the Tyrannosaurus Sentries as they started to break the door down.
"Don't worry sweetie, we'll be right behind you..." Talia told him as she strapped the sword onto the boy's back, "Now go!"
Without much time left, the young child nodded as he ran towards a nearby wooden hatch hidden behind the kitchen counter and started climbing down the ladder, but not without closing the hatch as he did so. As he made the descent, he could hear the Tyrannosaurus Sentries ransacking the house while they demanded to know where they were hiding the Ranger.
"And just like that, I was an orphan... No home to go back to, no family left to call my own..."
"Mom... Dad..." the little boy mumbled as he started to cry, however when he saw one of the Tyrannosaurus Sentries begin to turn to his direction, he ducked. After wiping his tears, he waited until they left before returning to his house to pack what little belongings he had.
Soon, Martin grabbed a gym bag from his father's room which had the Angel Grove Youth Center logo on it and finished packing. Before he left, he took his blanket from his room to make into a makeshift cloak for himself. After making one more walk around the house, Martin walked away from the little shack he had once called his home.
"You could say that life picked up after that, but it never did..." Martin noted, "I had to spend the next 14 years of my life as a Scrapper. It's what people call us since we often than not try and find rare objects from the wreckage of the city to trade in for perishables and some extra pocket money. That's basically what I've been doing since I escaped, fighting for food, evading any of Drakkon's Ranger Sentries, or even find myself a home to live in."
The boy soon smiled, "And boy what I home I found! This place that I'm recording in right now? It's called the Crimson Skybolt, an experimental Skyship meant for inter-dimensional travel, and I just nicked this from the nerds in the lab without them even knowing it was gone!" he boasted before laughing for a moment, "Man, you should have seen the look on Finster 5 when he saw that his beloved pet project was gone! He was like..."
He soon got up as he mimicked the stance of an old man as he mockingly shouted, "You fools! How could you lose a giant red battleship! I have built this vessel specifically for Lord Drakkon's fleet and yet somehow you let it fall into the hands of a lowly child?! You incompetent excuses for shipwrights and inventors!"
Martin then continued to laugh for a moment before calming down. "Now, there's one more thing I have to tell you before I finish this recording, and it has to do with... this..."
After digging into his pocket, he soon took out a small figure that depicted a red pirate-like Ranger, "This... is a Ranger Key. A special device which holds the power of a Power Ranger for use by another person."
He then took out a small treasure chest from under his seat, "Right now, I have the keys that represent all the Rangers from my world" the boy explained as he slapped said chest. "The reason why I have these is because I ended up meeting a very special person, one who helped the Power Rangers in the past..." the boy explained as he put the chest away.
"It was like any other day, me and my robot companion Navi was searching for scraps that I could bring to the trading post..."
A now grown-up Martin was now searching through an abandoned building, using a special eyepiece to scan the area while he placed whatever he could find in a large knapsack. He also had a large black and red cutlass on his left and a strange flintlock pistol on his right as weapons.
"Hey, did you find anything captain?" a robotic feminine voice called out.
"Not really from the looks of it..." the young Scrapper noted as he pulled some rubble and debris away, "Yeesh, looks like Drakkon really hit this place good. There's barely any kind of scrap that's worth a damn!"
"Hey, watch your mouth mister!" a small bronze parrot robot with ornate wings, brass for it's feet, wings, and it's beak, and yellow lights for eyes, "There's no room for language like that!"
"Yeah yeah..." he grumbled as he waved the robot off, "You sound like my mom sometimes..."
"Ay-yi-yi-yi-yi..." the robotic parrot, Navi, sighed as she shook her head while the boy continued to search the place.
"Now a rule of thumb is that some Scrappers stick to one area in order to lay claim to the best findings. My area, surprisingly, had a potential gold mine for scraps that I could cash in: the Command Center"
"Okay, so we got some old communicator parts, a few unused Blade Blasters, and hey look!" Martin counted off before he grabbed a large crossbow-like weapon off the ground, "I got one of the Thunder Slingers! These are gonna rake in so much coin!"
"Yeah, but isn't it a bad idea to come here captain?" Navi asked the young boy, "There's a reason why not that many Scrappers come here ya know..."
"Psh, so what? This place was ransacked by Drakkon years ago..." he mockingly reminded the robot, "I'm sure that whatever I find here doesn't have enough Morphing Grid energy to even alert a Mastadon Sentry, let alone Drakkon himself..."
"Well alright then..." Navi reluctantly agreed, "But if we get in trouble for this, I blame you!"
"Of course, while most people would give up at this point, I was determined to find something big. After all, it was the Rangers' Command Center, there had to have been something this place had been hiding that I could find. Boy, did I ever learn the phrase 'be careful what you wish for' that day..."
After some time, Martin and Navi ended up finding a strange door. "Huh, looks like reinforced steel..." Martin noted before taking out from blowtorch and welder mask from his bag, "Nothing a little plasma can't fix..."
Once he got the welder to light up, he soon put on the mask and began creating an opening for them the two to enter. Once he was able to create an opening that looked big enough to walk through, Martin took out his flintlock and fired out a powerful blast that took down the steel and created the desired hole.
"Robots first..." the Scrapper told Navi as he put his equipment away, while the parrot robot flew in. Once he was done, he heard Navi shout.
"SQUAWK! Martin, you need to see this!" the parrot robot exclaimed to Martin as he hurried up and grabbed his bag.
Once he entered through the hole, the two found themselves in a large power chamber, albeit it looked like it was ransacked just like the rest of the building. There were destroyed power tubes, broken controls, and a large hole where something should be.
"It was there that I realized that I had uncovered the big break I was looking for, and one that would change my life forever..."
"Man, talk about your fixer-upper..." the boy grumbled as he looked at the wreckage, "Looks like someone's been here..."
"Yeah, but that's not what's important!" Navi reminded him, "He is!"
At once, the boy turned to see a large busted robot with a large oblong head and a thunderbolt symbol on it's chest. "Woah, a whole robot!" Martin cheered, "Now this has to be the jackpot!" As Martin was about to reach for the machine, Navi slapped his hand, "Ow! Hey Navi, what gives?!" the young Scrapper complained.
"You dummy! This isn't any old robot, this is Alpha 5! He's Zordon's assistant!" the parrot robot informed him.
"Wait, you're kidding me right?" Martin gasped as he did a double-take at the machine, "That old hunk a junk's Alpha 5?!"
"Who else would it be?" the parrot robot told him.
With some reassurance, Martin began to examine the robot as he took out the eye piece and began a quick scan of it's functions, "Looks like he's missing some key functions, like some minor motor functions along with his power source." He soon looked around the base for anything he could use to repair Alpha 5, and soon began to use some of the broken parts of the command center to fix up the support robot.
After several minutes of finding the parts he needed and both fixing up and polishing off the robot, his efforts soon payed off as he saw the robot light up.
"O-ow-w-w..." the machine sputtered as he put his hand on his head.
"Great work captain!" Navi praised the Scrapper as the two shared a high five.
"What.. what happened?" Alpha asked as he started to get up before stumbling. Luckily, Martin was able to catch him before he fell to the ground.
"Hey, easy does it pal..." the boy told him, "It might take a while for ya to get used to your new joints..."
"Th-thank you stranger..." the machine thanked the boy, "H-How did you two get here? Only those who possess a Power Coin could enter the Command Center..."
"Well, I had some welding tools to get in" Martin noted as he pointed at the unused blowtorch and the welder mask still on his head, "I had these on hand in case I found any sealed doors. They also help when it comes to restoring bots like you..."
"Oh my..." Alpha muttered, "How long have I been inactive?"
"I'd say about... 25 years give or take..." Martin joked as he briefly checked his watch.
"25 years! Ay-yi-yi-yi-yi! The Rangers! They're in danger!" Alpha cried out as he quickly got up, "I must get to Zordon!" However as he looked around, the robot finally took noticed of the state of disrepair the Command Center was. "Wh-what is this?"
"Alpha, the Rangers are dead..." Navi told him, "Lord Drakkon killed them all and took their morphers..."
"No, this cannot be..." the robot cried as he started to look to the ground before realizing something, "Wait, if that's true, then where's Zordon?"
"Not sure..." he noted as he looked at the spot where likely Zordon would have been, "Looks like whatever was here is gone now... Drakkon likely took it when he attacked this place."
"I'm not too sure about that..." Alpha hoped as he began pressing some buttons on a control panel, causing a large circular lift appeared in the center of the chamber.
"What the...?" Martin pondered as the three took the lift downwards, leading them into a brand new chamber, one with much more advanced technology than the wreckage above them. It was a much larger room with several control panels and a large tube in the front wall.
"How... when was this built?" he asked Alpha.
"We had it in case of emergencies in case the Command Center was ever attacked..." the robot explained to the two, "But considering what you have told me, I'm not sure if we'll even be of any help..."
"Are you kidding me?! With this, we could get a new team of Rangers going on here!" Martin shouted excitedly, "We finally have a chance to fight back against Drakkon!"
"Alpha? Is that you?" a large booming voice, asked in a weakened tone.
"Z-Zordon! You're alive!" Alpha 5 cheered while Navi and Martin were shocked.
"Zordon?!" the two gasped as they ran towards a large chamber lit up, revealing a floating bald head before them.
"After all these years, there is still hope left in this world..." Zordon of Eltar sighed with relief as he turned towards the Scrapper and his robot companion, "Tell me, what is your name?"
"M-M-Martin, sir!" the boy hastilly mumbled as he straightened himself in shock
"I'm Navi, Captain Martin's assistant!" the parrot robot squawked, "It's an honor to meet you Zordon!"
"It's fine child, there is nothing to fear from me..." he reassured the two as they breathed a sigh of relief, "Now, I thank you two for repairing Alpha 5..."
"No prob... honestly it was a shock to find out that all of this was here..." Martin noted as he looked at the chamber, "So now that we know that you... alive, do you think you'll be able to contact the surviving Rangers? If you're still here, then maybe there's a chance to bring back the Power Rangers and save this world!"
Zordon began to look down in shame, "I'm afraid I cannot..." he sadly told him.
Martin looked confused, "Why not? I mean, you probably have enough reserves in this place to call up at least three other teens to here, right?"
Zordon soon told the boy, "I'm afraid it is not that simple. Due to Drakkon's attack on the Command Center leaving me gravely wounded, I can barely muster enough power to call upon the others, nor can I risk the last Rangers after Drakkon felled the others." The Eltarian soon gave the boy a look of pity, "I'm sorry if you had come all this way for nothing..."
Devastated, Marvin soon sighed as he looked down, "Of course... that bastard always has to take away whatever salvation we can get..." he growled before slamming his fist into the controls.
"Martin, please don't hit the controls! They're very sensitive!" Alpha pleaded with the young scrapper as he saw the boy's tears.
"Why... why can't this world ever catch a break!" the boy cried, "I can't just let that monster roam free after what he did! There's gotta be another way to stop him... is there?" Zordon was silent as he and Alpha stared at each other while Navi comforted the young boy. "At least it was worth a shot..." the young Scapper muttered to himself as he breathed a large sigh of regret.
"Maybe there is..." the Eltarian said, causing the boy's eyes to turn towards the tube with a mixture of confusion... and hope. "Alpha, bring him the experimental morpher..." Zordon told the robot
"R-Right away!" Alpha declared as he quickly ran out of the room and returned with a small chest.
"What's this?" Martin pondered as he opened up the chest to find several Ranger Keys of the Thunder Rangers, but also the Mighty Morphing Rangers, the Mighty Morphing Alien Rangers, and even a team of five Rangers with shape-based visors. There were also five large flip-phones that sat in the pile of keys, along with that of the red pirate key and four other pirate keys.
"Wait, are these?!" Martin gasped as he looked at the Red Thunder Ranger Key and the Red Aquitar Ranger Key.
"Indeed, these Ranger Keys are what Alpha and I had as an emergency should the Power Rangers ever lose their powers" Zordon told the boy, "And starting today, you will hold onto these as the newest Red Ranger..."
"Woah woah, wait... Me? The Red Ranger?" he gasped, being taken aback by this declaration. "Come on, I'm just a Scrapper, I'm not someone who's exactly Ranger material..." the young boy said defensively.
"True, but so were none of the others before they became Rangers" the Eltarian reminded him, "No one is a perfect Ranger at the start, it is only through their courage and heroics that they became the legendary warriors the world sees them as today."
The boy soon looked at the red pirate key and the morpher with a look of both excitement and worry before placing it back.
"I know this is a tall order for place on your shoulders, but I believe you have the heart and power to wield this power" Zordon noted, "After all, you hold one of the original five Power Weapons with you..."
"You mean the Power Sword?" Martin realized.
"Yes, when you father was given this sword, it was through Jason's hope that he could find the next Red Ranger..." the Eltarian revealed to the Scrapper, "I hoped that one day, that new Ranger would come to this place to receive this power. I am glad to have been right..."
The boy could only smile brightly before the command center began to shake.
"What's going on?!" Navi cried out.
Immediately the viewing screen was shown to reveal several ships attacking the command center, with Ranger Sentries of various kinds barging into the outside to secure the area.
"Great, Drakkon's goons..." Martin growled under his breath.
"There isn't much time, I'll teleport you back to your ship" Zordon told him, "Take Alpha with you as a deckhand..."
"B-But Zordon, what about you?" he asked fearfully, worried about the Eltarian.
"It's fine Alpha, my time has already come..." he told him with a caring smile to calm the trio down, "I have already set my containment tube to self-destruct in two minutes. Martin, please use the resulting energy to warp you and your ship towards the dimension in Alpha's data banks. From there, you will receive your mission... Now go!"
Reluctant, Martin agreed as he punched in the co-ordinates to his ship's locations and quickly teleported himself, Navi, and Alpha 5, who was still holding onto the chest full of Ranger Keys, towards a nearby canyon far away from the command center. With not much time on their hands, Martin and Alpha boarded the skyship and quickly got to the control mechanism, an old steering wheel before a control panel.
"Inputting the dimensional co-ordinates now!" the machine reported as he typed something into the control panel, causing the screen to light up and revealed an exact copy of the Planet Earth.
"Is everyone ready?" Martin asked as he gripped the steering wheel, before hearing the confirmation from both Alpha and Navi.
Back in the command center, Lord Drakkon arrived to the command center with his personal army of Tyrannosaurus Sentries and several other Ranger sentries of various ranks.
"Ahh, Zordon... it seems we meet again..." the evil Ranger chuckled.
"Indeed... while you may not be the same as the one of my dimension, it saddens me to see how far you've fallen, Tommy..." the Eltarian sighed.
"Why? My eyes were opened to the truth!" he said, his arms stretched out as he took several steps towards Zordon, "I see countless worlds where the power has been squandered in the name of 'good' and 'justice'. Psh, how foolish of them..."
"Fighting for yourself is not a just cause" he told the evil Ranger, "What you have done has caused nothing but pain and misery across the dimensions. Countless lives lost all in the name of conquest. Is this what you truly want?"
"Enough!" Drakkon roared, "I grow tired of your games... Where is the new Red Ranger?"
"Are you scared?" Zordon asked him, "Afraid of someone much more powerful than you arriving?"
The dictator could only growl before he noticed the timer on the control panel was ticking down to it's last five seconds.
"My lord!" two white and orange rhino-themed Ranger Sentries cried out as they raised their shields together to protect their leader from a huge blast that sent a surge of power all throughout the world, including the Crimson Skybolt.
"Captain, we got the power!" Navi told Martin as she noticed the ship's energy levels skyrocket.
"Alpha, punch it! Navi, scramble our dimensional signal! We can't let Drakkon or his guards follow us to wherever Zordon wants us to go!" Martin ordered the two.
"Aye aye, captain!" Alpha declared before pulling a lever that created a large warp hole for the Crimson Skybolt to fly through.
As they flew through the wormhole, Navi connected herself to a nearby console as various light began to shine, making sure that no one else could tail them while in the inter-dimensional highway.
Back at the remains of the command center, the two Elasmotherium Sentires lowered their shields as Lord Drakkon saw that the entire place was destroyed, the various consoles crushed by pieces of rubble, a few of the Tyrannosaurus Sentries killed by the detonation, and the containment cube where Zordon once stayed in shattered, leaving no trace of the Eltarian.
Angered, he began to walk away as he issued a command on his communicator, "Calling all troops across the multiverse, I want you to barricade your planet Earth and protect it at all costs, there's a rogue Red Ranger on the loose in an unknown vessel. If you find him, destroy his ship and bring him to me!"
This order caused all manner of ships and vessels across the stars to come to their respective Earths and form a blockade, with several flagships serving as the vanguard for wherever the Crimson Skybolt would show up.
DIMENSION 00
A worm hole soon opened as the large red skyship warped out of the location, the sudden movement making Martin and Alpha almost lose balance before they held on.
"Wow! I had no idea how fast this thing's hyperdrive engine can get..." the Scrapper stated with a mixture of shock and awe. "Is everyone alright?" he asked the two as they got back up.
"W-We're alright..." the robot reassured him as they checked the ship's current status. "Looks like the ship was able to survive the trip..." Alpha reported to the captain.
"Good..." he sighed before slumping onto the steering wheel. "Alright, set a course for Planet Earth" he told him as he took hold of the steering wheel.
The two robots soon agreed and began managing the ship as it began to fly across the stars before arriving to Earth, where it was now protected by a barricade of ships.
"Dammit!" the young Scrapper roared, slamming his fist into the steering wheel. "It looks like it reaches all around the planet..." He soon began to look to the ground, finally feeling the sting of defeat. However, as Alpha and Navi looked at the barricade with despair, a burning anger began to boil within the Scrapper's eyes. "No, no more..." he grumbled under his breath before glaring at the barricade, "I WON'T LET THAT BASTARD TAKE OVER ANY MORE WORLDS!" he roared at the tops of his lungs.
He soon got up, "Navi!" he shouted.
Immediately both robots were frightened by the frightening glare the Scrapper had in his eyes.
"Ready the GokaiZords!" he roared at the robot parrot, scaring her for a moment before compiling with the captain's request.
"Martin, what's going on?" Alpha 5 asked him, worried about where this rage was coming from.
"From what I can tell, this barricade is part of a scouting party for new worlds to conquer" Martin explained to the robot, "If we take the mothership out, then we can keep this world off of Drakkon's hitlist."
"But how are you going to do that?" Alpha questioned, "There's no way this ship can even get through this place without being destroyed!"
"Oh we'll get through..." the Scrapper reassured the robot before going towards the box holding the Ranger Keys and took out the red pirate key and morpher.
With a flick of his wrist, he opened up the morpher to show a pair of crossed blades before lifting the arms of the key's figure form and flipping up the feet, revealing a key behind it. Afterwards, the boy performed a quick turn before resting the 'screen' of the morpher on his outstretched hand, pointing the key towards the screen.
"Let's go Legendary!"
With a couple of turns, Martin placed the key into the morpher and turned it, causing the swords to flip out and reveal a key in between them before a brilliant light formed around him.
LEGEND HUNTERS!
When the light died down, he was dressed in a full-sized suit version of the Ranger Key, complete with a golden belt that could summon any Ranger Key to him.
"Woah..." Alpha marveled as the newly created Red Ranger returned to the steering wheel as it lowered itself down to a separate cockpit.
"Hey Florida, what's that?" a robot with a large silver head and a light purple body and silver armor asked another robot of the same description. They were managing their ship as normal when they noticed the Crimson Skybolt entering their space.
"I'm not sure Ohio..." he answered, "But it looks like some kind of flying... pirate ship?"
"Pirate ship?" a voice pondered as a Quetzalcoatl Sentry, one that resembled the Gold Dino Charge Ranger but with spiked shoulder pads and a large bolt rifle and riot shield, pondered before seeing the skyship. "It's the Red Ranger!" he roared before shouting into an intercom, "All hands on deck! I want those cannons to blow up that skyship at once!"
"W-Wait, isn't that the stolen skyship that Finster 5 was working on two years ago?" Ohio realized.
"Yeah..." the Quetzalcoatl Sentry noted before once more talking to the intercom "Change of plans, you are to ground that ship at once! If this rogue Red Ranger and the thief two years ago are the same person, then he chose the wrong day to make himself known!"
Immediately, the various ships began to open fire on the Skybolt, raining down lasers onto the skyship in an attempt to destroy it.
"Portside cannons, fire!" Martin called out as the cannons on the left side of the ship fired off several blasts of its own, destroying one of the ships in the process. "Now we're talking!" he cheered with glee before spinning the steering wheel to his right.
The Crimson Skybolt soon rammed into one of the ships and split it in half thanks to the blades that made up the ship's front.
"How hard is it for you morons to take down just one ship?" the Quetzalcoatl Sentry growled at his subordinates, "Just kill him!"
They soon fired yet another volley of laser fire, causing a massive explosion.
"There, that's more like it..." he sighed, "Now prepare to claim the ship and the-"
"Sir, we still have a signal on the radar and it's coming right at us!" Florida gasped.
"What, that ship is still mobile?! But how..." The Quetzalcoatl Sentry pondered before turning towards the explosion as a large pirate-themed Megazord came rushing towards them, sabers in each hand.
"How do you like me now, bitch?" Martin exclaimed with a manic grin on his face.
In a flash, the large pirate Megazord began tearing through the barricade, destroying ship after ship with it's sword at every step, even using the front cannon on it's jet-like arm to blast at his foes. This caused bursts of light to appear all across the sky, alerting four other individuals.
Meanwhile, back in space, the Quetzalcoatl Sentry was horrified at just how fast the Megazord was destroying his fleet.
"Why must I be surrounded by such incompetent X-Borgs? Enough, I'll do this myself if I have to!" he roared as he went towards the control dock and began piloting the ship himself.
The Megazord on the other hand was still unleashing it's unholy fury on the barricade, cutting down ships left and right.
"This power... I feel like we might have a chance to win!" Martin declared as feelings of hope and determination began to fill his heart.
As he stopped temporarily, he soon noticed a blip on his radar, revealing it to be the mothership coming at him with the last remaining ships in the fleet.
"Oh, you want some?" he laughed as he turned the Megazord around and prepared to face it head on.
"Martin, use the Key!" Alpha instructed the Scrapper.
"On it!" the rookie Red called out.
He soon pressed a button on the top of his belt to summon his personal Ranger Key to his side. With a flick of the wrist, he grabbed the key and transformed it into it's key form.
"Ranger Key, set! Let's go!"
Once he placed it into the middle of the steering wheel and turned it, the Megazord began to charge up it's power before opening it's doors to reveal several giant cannon balls and a large cannon in the middle.
"Woah! Me likey!" Martin lauged before he spun the wheel.
"Starburst cannon, fire at will!"
Soon the cannon began firing an endless barrage of cannonballs at the fleet, destroying each and every one of them until there was nothing left of the barricade. Satisfied, the Megazord confidently lowered its blades and closed it's doors before turning towards the little blue planet.
"There it is..." Alpha noted, "That's the Earth that Zordon told me to bring you two to..."
"Here's hoping that we find whatever caught Zordon's eye in this place..." Martin noted before converting the Megazord back into the Crimson Skybolt, teleporting its limbs right back into the cargo hold.
With the skyship ready for depart, it soon made its way to Earth before finding a good place near a mountain. Afterwards, they lowered the anchors and docked the ship, allowing the Scrapper some time to recover from his first morphed battle as a Power Ranger.
"Woah... that was a rush..." he muttered before powering down.
LATER...
"Okay, I've activated the ship's cloaking device..." Martin informed Navi and Alpha 5, before turning to the robot. "Okay, so what was Zordon going to tell us before Drakkon came to ruin it?"
"W-Well... It has everything to do with these..." the machine noted as he brought up an image onto the ship's main computer.
The image itself was 24 different medals, each with a gear-like border around them along with the symbol of the Ranger teams they represent imprinted on the black centerpiece of the medal.
"These are what Zordon called the Super Power Coins" Alpha explained, "After the Legendary War created the multiverse as we knew it, the Morphin Grid was sealed away and split into different sectors. The only way to return the Morphin Grid to the way it was before is by finding these coins and unsealing the Grid, and the only dimension to house these coins is right here, in a world where there are no active Power Rangers, nor have there ever been any other Ranger team created at this point."
"And if Drakkon gets his hands on them first..." the Scrapper realized as his blood ran cold, "Oh gosh... he could abuse power in the Morphing Grid however he wants!"
"SQUAWK!" Navi cried out, "This is terrible!"
"If that's the case... then we have to find them before any of that bastard's forces get anywhere near this world!" Martin declared, shocking both robots.
"But how?! You're the only active Ranger in this world, and you just got your powers a few minutes ago!" Alpha feared, "This is a practically a suicide mission!"
"Well, do you have any other ideas Alpha?" the scrapper questioned, "The longer we stand here and do nothing, the longer it will take for Drakkon to realize how to unlock the Morphing Grid..." He soon began to grip the table, "If we can find these coins before he does, then maybe we can make sure no one else has to lose their home like I and many others did..."
"Are you sure about this Martin?" Navi asked him worriedly, "What if Drakkon does comes here to find the coins?"
"Then we'll just have to defend this world on our own..." Martin declared with a fire burning in his heart, "After all, I'm tired of running from Drakkon. If I see him or his forces one more time, then mark my words, I'll fight them until my last breath..."
"Well then..." the robotic parrot sighed before nodding in approval, "I'm with you all the way captain!"
"I'm in the same boat as you, captain Martin" Alpha agreed, "Although... No pun intended, as you humans would say..."
Martin could only laugh as he stared at the starry sky, his new resolve formed on this night.
"On that day, I stopped being a Scrapper, and started being something I promised my parents a long time ago... I became a Power Ranger..."
"Fast forward through a week of getting used to how different a world this place is, getting to know the locals, and starting my search for some of the Super Power Coins, and you're basically all caught up with where we are right now..." Martin noted before yawning loudly and performing a quick stretch. "Welp, it's getting late..." the young Scrapper noted as he looked at the clock on the phone, "I'll try and make another entry tomorrow, but I'll promise this..."
"A Scrapper always keeps his eyes on the prize, and with these Super Power Coins on the rise, All I gotta say is..." he chuckled before reaching for the record button and pressing it.
THE HUNT IS ON!
POWER RANGERS LEGEND HUNTERS
COMING SOON...
AUTHOR'S NOTE:
He guys, HackerEX here!
Well this is new. If you've seen Movie War Carnival, then you've seen the five not-Super Megaforce Rangers make a quick cameo during the battle. Well they weren't just throwaway characters like the rest of the other Ranger/Cure team-ups, but a part of a new project that I've been meaning to do for a long while.
As you all know, Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger was adapted into the second season of Power Rangers Megaforce, known as Power Rangers Super Megaforce... and boy was that a big mistake on Saban's end. I only saw clips of it, but while the novelty of seeing Americanized Gokaiger footage was cool, that novelty quickly wore off as I saw all the shit Jonathan Tzachor pulled.
I mean, you can hate Zi-O all you want, but at least that series did it's best to at least pay tribute to what the Heisei Era of Kamen Riders were to a lot of people. Super Megafarce on the other hand (not my idea but it fits) squandered it's potential in almost every corner. So in the words of Mythbusters' Jaimie Hynemen...
"I reject your reality and substitute it with my own"
While this will not be a one-to-one adaptation of Gokaiger or Super Megaforce, I will try and make this story my own with the help of a few friends of mine. Now, before the first real chapter of this will appear, I will be posting five different prologues to explain the backstories of the Legend Hunters and where they came from. This will also be a sort-of 25th anniversary tribute that will include Dino Charge, Ninja Steel, Hyperforce, the comics, and something that I can't spill until the chapter comes out.
Anyway, I hope you guys will like what's coming, but until then this is HackerEX logging out, see ya!
